• Using FBML in a ruby sinatra app

  Hi, I'm building an application in ruby using the sinatra framework and am having trouble with rendering some fbml elements. I'm currently trying to render an fb:multi-friend-selector so the user can select which friends they want to invite. However, when I write the following in my code: <fb:fbml> <fb:request-form action="/inviteFriends" method="POST" invite="true" type="MY APP" content="Invite Friends" > <fb:multi-friend-selector showborder="false" actiontext="Invite your friends to use YOUR APP NAME."> </fb:request-form> </fb:fbml> Nothing renders with the text above. I've included the regular facebook xsds for the taglibs in my html tag and have tested fbml on the page using the following code: <fb:name useyou="false" uid="USER_ID" linked="false"/> This code works correctly and displays the user's name. I've tried a simple example like that on http://wiki.developers.facebook.com/index.php/Fb:random but again nothing is rendered in the browser. Do I need to include some special javascript or anything? I would greatly appreciate some help with this. Thanks in advance -gearoid.

• Adding a selection box into an ItemsControl?

  I have a WPF ItemsControl with a Canvas ItemPanel. Drawing from an internal source, it displays lots of automatically generated Rectangles. As of now, it looks like this: <Window // .. The error message is "Cannot explicitly modify Children collection of Panel used as ItemsPanel for ItemsControl. ItemsControl generates child elements for Panel." What is the preferred way to implement such behavior? I thought about overlaying another canvas (using negative Margin) and drawing the selection box in there, but that seems like a bad hack. "MSc", "3" and "4" are the groups in the 12th column, and I want to group MSc and 4 so that their Andrews curves have the same color. If you have any idea how to do this, please let me know.

• unexpected margin with very simple html

  I have a very simple html. The red div is inside the blue div and has a 10 px top margin. On non-ie browsers, the blue box is 10 px apart from the top of viewport and the red div is at the very top of the blue div. What I expect is the ie behavior: red div must be 10 px apart from the top of the blue div. Why does non-ie browsers render like this? (I suppose the wrong behavior is the IE's but why?) • find and replace values in a flat-file using PHP

  I'd think there was a question on this already, but I can't find one. Maybe the solution is too easy... Anyway, I have a flat-file and want to let the user change the values based on a name. I've already sorted out creating new name+value-pairs using the fopen('a') mode, using jQuery to send the AJAX call with newValue and newName. But say the content looks like this: host|http:www.stackoverflow.com folder|/questions/ folder2|/users/ And now I want to change the folder value. So I'll send in folder as oldName and /tags/ as newValue. What's the best way to overwrite the value? The order in the list doesn't matter, and the name will always be on the left, followed by a |(pipe), the value and then a new-line. My first thought was to read the list, store it in an array, search all the [0]'s for oldName, then change the [1] that belongs to it, and then write it back to a file. But I feel there is a better way around this? Any ideas? Maybe regex?

• Classic ASP - Email form with attached file - please help

  Hi Guys, Ive got abit of a problem ive got an email web form that send the input to an email address but what I now need is a file input field were the user can also send an image as an attachment. So contact name, logo (attachment). Ive been told in order to send the attachment it needs to be saved in a folder on my hosting before it can be sent. Ive spoken to the hosting company and they dont have anything in place to make this easier such as aspupload. The structure ist like this (via *print_r*): Array ( [2-1] => Array ( [color] => 7 [articlenumber] => WRG70 10 [quantity] => 1 [price] => 17.50 ) [3-8] => Array ( [color] => 2 [articlenumber] => QRG50 02 [quantity] => 1 [price] => 13.50 ) ) Looping over the values for display is fine ... foreach($_SESSION['cart'] as $item_array) { foreach($item_array as $item => $value) { echo $value . ' | '; } } ... since it results in something like this: 7 | WRG70 10 | 1 | 17.50 | 2 | QRG50 02 | 1 | 13.50 | But Now: How can I output the matching key (e.g. '2-1') as well? • Viewing namespaced global variables in Visual Studio debugger?

  When debugging a non-managed C++ project in Visual Studio 2008, I occasionally want to see the value of a global variable. We don't have a lot of these but those that are there all declared within a namespace called 'global'. e.g. namespace global { int foo; bool bar; ... } The problem is that when the code is stopped at a breakpoint, the default debugging tooltip (from pointing at the variable name) and quickwatch (shift-f9 on the variable name) don't take the namespace into consideration and hence won't work. So for example I can point at 'foo' and nothing comes up. If I shift-f9 on foo, it will bring up the quickwatch, which then says 'CXX0017: Error: symbol "foo" not found'. I can get around that by manually editing the variable name in the quickwatch window to prefix it with "global::" (which is cumbersome considering you have to do it each time you want to quickwatch), but there is no fix for the tooltip that I can work out. Setting the 'default namespace' of the project properties doesn't help. How can I tell the VS debugger to use the namespace that it already knows the variable is declared in (since it has the declaration right there), or, alternatively, tell it a default namespace to look for variables in if it doesn't find them? My google-fu has failed to find an answer. This report lists the same problem, with MS saying it's "by design", but even so I am hoping there is some way to work around it (perhaps with clever use of autoexp.dat?)

• Java generic Comparable where subclasses can't compare to eachother

  public abstract class MyAbs implements Comparable<MyAbs> This would work but then I would be able to compare class A and B with each other if they both extend MyAbs. What I want to accomplish however is the exact opposite. So does anyone know a way to get the generic type to be the own class? Seemed like such a simple thing at first... Edit: To explain it a little further with an example. Say you have an abstract class animals, then you extend it with Dogs and ants. I wouldn't want to compare ants with Dogs but I however would want to compare one dog with another. The dog might have a variable saying what color it is and that is what I want to use in the compareTo method. However when it comes to ants I would rather want to compare ant's size than their color. Hope that clears it up. Could possibly be a design flaw however.

  Hi, I am very new to html/xml/css and I'm trying my best to teach myself. However, I have run into a problem that a Google search could not solve. I would like to position a small image in a fixed location relative to another element(?) • 2 different routes on one page?

  Hi I'm pretty new with MVC2 or MVC in general. If it's one thing I get caught up with it's routes. Like now I got this scenario. Im going from the regular site to Admin. My navigation is the same partialview on both I just do a check which data to render something like this. <% if (!Request.RawUrl.Contains("Admin")){%> <% foreach (var site in Model) { %> <%= Html.MenuItem(site.BelongSite, "Sida", "Site", site.BelongSite) %> | <%} %> <%} else {%> <%= Html.ActionLink("Konfig", "Konfigurera", "Admin") %> <% } %> My route looks like this routes.MapRoute( "Admin", // Route name "Admin/{action}/{name}", // URL with parameters new { controller = "Admin", action = "konfigurera", name = UrlParameter.Optional } // Parameter defaults ); On my View called Konfigurera I got Edit sites and they use the route above and it works great. The navigation tho dont get no action assigned to it. It's just <a href='Admin/'> The navigation is in the shared folder, and it is a strongly typed. Any Ideas? I been struggling with this for about a hour now Thanks for any input

• Why doesn't this jQuery snippet work in IE8 like it does in Firefox or Chrome (Live Demo Included) ?

  I asked for help earlier on Stackoverflow involving highlighting spans with the same Class when a mouse hovers over any Span with that same Class. Here is a screenshot of it in IE8, with my mouse hovered over the " min) { min" section in the middle. As you can see, it highlighted the span that the mouse is hovering over perfectly fine. However, it has also highlighted some random spans above and below it that don't have the same class! Only the span's with the same Class as the one where the mouse is over should be highlighted green. In this screenshot, only that middle green section should be green. Here is a screenshot of it working properly in Firefox/Chrome with my mouse in the exact same position: This screenshot is correct as the span that the mouse is over (the green section) is the only one in this section that shares that class. Why is IE8 randomly green-highlighting spans when it shouldn't be (they don't share the same class) using my little jQuery snippet? • Asp.Net Login Control very slow initial connection to Non-Trusted AD Domain

  ASP.NET Login control is very slow making the initial connection to AD when authenticating to a different domain than the domain the web server is a member of. Problem occurs for the IIS server and when using with the Visual Studio's built in web server. It takes about 30 seconds the first time when attempting to use the control to connect against another domain. There is no trust relationship bewteen the web server's domain and the other domains (attempted connecting to several different domains). Subsequent connections execute quickly until the connection times out. Using Systernals Process Monitor to troubleshoot, there are two OpenQuery operations right before the delay to "C:\WINDOWS\asembly\GAC_MSIL\System.DirectoryServices\2.0.0.0_b03f5f7f11d50a3a\Netapi32.dll with a result NAME NOT FOUND" and right after the 30 second delay the TCP Send and TCP Recieves indicate communication begins with the AD server. Things we have tried: Impersonating an administrator on the web server in the web.config; Granting permissions to the CryptoKeys to the NetworkService and ASPNET; Specifying by IP instead of DNS name; Multiple variations of specifying the name and ldap server with domains and OU's; Local host entries; Looked for ports being blocked (SYN_SENT) with netstat -an. Nslookup resolves all the domains and systems involved correectly. TraceRt shows the Correct routes Any Idea or hints are greately appreicated.
