  • Extending Zend View Helper Placeholder

    I was reading the manual about basic placeholder usage, and it has this example: class Bootstrap extends Zend_Application_Bootstrap_Bootstrap { // ... protected function _initSidebar() { $this->bootstrap('View'); $view = $this->getResource('View'); $view->placeholder('sidebar') // "prefix" -> markup to emit once before all items in collection ->setPrefix("<div class=\"sidebar\">\n <div class=\"block\">\n") // "separator" -> markup to emit between items in a collection ->setSeparator("</div>\n <div class=\"block\">\n") // "postfix" -> markup to emit once after all items in a collection ->setPostfix("</div>\n</div>"); } // ... } I want to acommplish almost exactly that, but I'd like to conditionally add more class values to the repeating divs, at time of rendering if possible, when all the content is in the placeholder. One thing I specifically want to do is add the class of "first" to the first element and "last" to the last element. I assume that I'll have to extend the Zend_View_Helper_Placeholder class to accomplish this.

    I want to show terms and condition note on my website. I dont want to use text field and also dont want to use my whole page. I just want to display my text in selected area and want to use only vertical scroll-bar to go down and read all text.     OK, I'm flummoxed. I'm trying to execute a query on a database (locally) and I keep getting a connection reset error. " ($keys) VALUES ($values)"; //formatResult returns an array of info regarding the status and any result sets of the query //I've commented that method call out anyway, so I don't think it's that try { $this->db->query($sql); return $this->formatResult(array( true, 'New record inserted into: '.$this->table_name )); }catch(PDOException $e) { return $this->formatResult($e); } } So far, this has worked fine - the errors have been occurring since we generated new tables to record user input. The description field is being populated from a TinyMCE textarea - I'm guessing it's chucking in some line returns, so I've tried stripping those out. However, even if I disable the TinyMCE field, the reset error still occurs. The next port of call was checking the limits on the table, since it seems to insert if the length of "description" is around the 300 mark (it varies between 310 - 330). The field limit is set to VARCHAR(1500) and the validation on this field won't allow anything past bigger than 1200 with HTML, 800 without. The real kicker is that if I take this sql string and execute it via the command line, it works fine - so I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. So, in a nutshell, I'm stumped. Any ideas?

    Here is my code... basically it finds any page-NUMBER- within a variable and then replaces it with a page url from an array $content_text = preg_replace("/page-(\d+)-/sie", '$pageurl[$1]', $content_text); It works a treat until the NUMBER it finds isn't in the array and it returns an error... Is there another efficient way I could do this instead? I liked my code above because it was simple but I may have to use more complex code...

  • Getting Facebook Posts Permalink from Facebook Graph API Search

    I want to use the Facebook Graph API to search the public status updates concerning a keyword. For example, this works great: http://graph.facebook.com/search?q=obama&type=post It shows me all the posts with the word "obama" in it. If the post is a picture, it actually returns a field called "link" which is the permalink to the picture on the actual Facebook website, in the user's profile. Which is exactly what I want, but for pictures. But if the post in question is just a status update, i.e. just text, all it returns is the 3 fields: message, created_time, and updated_time. How do I view this actual status update on www.facebook.com? I realize I can view it on graph.facebook.com in JSON format, but I want to actually be able to show the permalink to the status update, or post. The final result I would like to retrieve might look something like this: http://www.facebook.com/[user id]/posts/[post id] With the [user id] and [post id] fields swapped out with the actual IDs, obviously.   • Changelog file: YAML vs JSON vs CSV

    Hello everybody. I am creating a simple Changelog lib in CodeIgniter that will basically log a message everytime someone adds, deletes, changes or publish a blog post. I will log messages in files by batches of 300. So every 301st message will go in a new file. At first I wanted to write the logs to simple .log files but then I got the idea to actually style the thing and I had to seperate each "attribute" of each message (ie: the user, the message, the type of the log, etc.). So .log files are out of the question since extracting the info would be a pain. What is the most appropriate format for such a task? I already ruled out MySQL and XML because they are too heavy (especially considering that the log files won't exceed (about) 300 lines). I suggested YAML vs JSON vs CSV in the title, but is there yet a better alternative?

I wanted to remain get since I want to limit to columns that was set on $fields.     This is very similar to a question I asked the other day but my page code has become significantly more complicated and I need to revisit it. I've been using the following code: $('#myLink').click(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'newImg.jpg'); setTimeout(function() { $('#myImg').attr('src', 'oldImg.jpg'); }, 15000); }); To replace an image for a set period of time (15 seconds) when the link is clicked, then after 15 seconds, revert to the original image. However now, I'd like to run a snippet of javascript as well when the link is clicked (in addition to replacing the image), and only when the link is clicked (it's related to the 15 second image) and then have the js code disappear as well after the 15 seconds...however I'm not sure how to have jquery send js code into the page...Basically I just want jQuery to "echo" this code onto the page underneath the 15 second while I am there, but I don't know how jquery formats this "echo". Does this question make sense?

    Hi, I'm trying to make a clean url for a blog on a dynamic website, but I think that the problem is that I don't know how to plan the website schema. I read about how to use mod_rewrite and all I found is how to make "http://www.website.com/?category&date&post-title" to "http://www.website.com/category/date/post-title". that's works o.k for me. The problem is that If my url looks like "http://www.website.com/blog/?id=34" this method won't work as far as I got it. So, I have two questions: 1. Is there a way to use mod_rewrite (maybe read from a txt file) to read the post title of my blog and rewrite my url by date and post-title? 2. Should I rewrite my website to query the data from one index file in the homepage and use mod_rewrite to write the nice url? should I query also the date and the title of the post instead just the post ID?

  • mysql encoding problem

    i have a proble, when insert something in foreign language into database. i have set the collation of database to utf8_general_ci(try utf8_unicod_ci too). but when i insert some text into table, it was saved like this Õ€Õ¡ÕµÕ¥Ö€Õ¥Õ¶ Ô±Õ¶Õ¸Ö‚Õ¶ but when i read from database, text shows in correct form. it looks like that only in database. i have set encoding in my html document to charset=UTF-8 <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=UTF-8" /> and i set mysql_query("SET NAMES UTF-8"); mysql_query("SET CHARACTER SET UTF-8"); when conecting to database. so i think that i' ve done everything, but it still save in that anknown format. could you help me. thanks in advance

  • problem with codeigniter using odbc database driver

    i’ve run into a curious problem with codeigniter's odbc driver. i’m connecting from a linux machine to an MSSQL 2008 machine using FreeTDS. while i get that the ‘num_rows’ function always returns -1, and that is fully a database/driver issue - for some reason when i try to create a -result(), the whole application crashes (error 500, sometimes just a blank page), if i’m lucky, i get an error message informing me that the application died because it tried to allocated 2 terrabytes of memory(!). This happens irregularly, ie: every few refreshes. sometimes it runs fine, sometimes the page returns error 500 and sometimes it gives the memory allocation error - in any case it’s not really something that can be reproduced with percision, and the queries are SUPER simple. ideas anyone?

  • Magento My Account Layout XML Problem

    Hi there, I'm having issues getting the customer.xml layout file to work properly for the customer's "my account" pages. The navigation links and the previously ordered items that are usually on the left hand side of the page won't show up on the page, but if I change the reference name to "content" in the xml file, it shows up (except it's obviously then on the right hand side). I've checked the template it's referencing (2columns-left.phtml), and the getChildHtml('left') is there in the correct position. I've tried everything I can think of (changing the name of the reference in both the template and the layout xml, for example) to no avail. The templates that the layout is referencing are obviously working because they do show up when put into the "content" area. This installation of magento is version 1.3.1.1. I appreciate any advice you have to give me... *Update: I tried changing the reference to "global_messages", and it doesn't show there either.   • Tim Thumb for an External Host / CDN

    I'm running a stock copy of tim thumb on a clients website. Works great but does not support external hosts for the pictures. My clients uses an amazon CDN / Flickr for all of their websites pictures which doesnt allow me to resize on the fly. Has anyone found a work around for this? http://code.google.com/p/timthumb/
