• Google Chrome app file opened is not always in front, receiving focus

  On Windows Vista, I'm launching files associated with a Google Chrome "Application Shortcut" app by double-clicking them. While they will always open this way, they will sometimes not receive focus -- i.e. they sit in the task bar quietly but don't actually show in front on the screen (until I click on the app in the task bar again). Does anyone know how I can force the just-opened app to receive focus? The app being opened actually contains a web app I can customize, so I also have access to performing JavaScript commands post-startup. For background information, here is the regedit file I originally used to create the file association. Might well be this is a Google Chrome internal issue... apps I open with other editors get their focus alright, AFAIK. Thanks!

• Win XP Virtual Machine APP that won't START as a terminal services client

  I have a Win XP Virtual Machine APP that won't START as a terminal services client..... but if i disable terminal services inside the virtual machine, start the app then start terminal services... the APP runs fine (so long as terminal services are disabled when it starts.....!) My question is... is it possible to script things somehow so as to allow this app to be accessed directly from win 7 (with out having to manually run XP virtual machine)... I.E as I can not run it this way as it won't START with terminal services running.... I.e is it somehow possible to script things so the APP starts and terminal services is delayed then kicks in after a time delay.... (I know this may not be possible but I'm getting sick of all the mucking around...)

• Can only access asp.net app on localhost

  I'm trying to get an asp.net application up on IIS on a Windows Server 2008 machine. I can hit the app from localhost, no problem. But I can't access the app using the server's domain name either locally or from another machine on the network. But here's the odd part. I can access a normal file on IIS using the domain name, both from a browser running on the server and from a browser running on another machine on the network. Here's a synopsis ("http" converted to "htp" below because I don't have enough points to have all these links in my message): From IE on the server itself: works htp://localhost/foo.htm works htp://localhost/App works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App From IE on another machine (inside or outside my subnet): works htp://test.foo.com/foo.htm dead htp://test.foo.com/App And when I say "dead" I mean the request times out. Any ideas?

• cannot at all find sql instance (while installing an asp.net app on IIS)

  So I'm really not a DBA, I'm an app dev. I had to install my asp.net mvc3 app on my client's(a large company) IIS6 + Win2k3 machine, with absolutely no help from their sysadmins. The final problem now is SQL Server 2008 r2, after figuring out how to create a login from windows, my app and sqlcmd.exe always complains it cannot find a sql server instance!! I have all the sql services (in services.msc) running to Log On as the local system. I can login fine with SQL Server Management Studio with Windows Auth. I created my database, my asp.net app needs/uses windows auth. But for the love of God, whatever I do my app always complains it cannot find the instance. (Also tried running SQL CMD and it complains of the same thing too!) My data base connection string looks like this: Data Source=machinename\username;Initial Catalog=myDataStore;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True Machinename\user is the same thing that shows up on the sql server management studio login if I choose windows authentication right?

• How do you protect your <appid>.appspot.com domain from DDOS attack?

  If I want to use CloudFlare to help protect my GAE app via it's custom domain, I still am vulnerable to attacks directly on the .appspot.com domain. How do I mitigate that? I could force redirect appspot.com host requests, such as discussed here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1364733/block-requests-from-appspot-com-and-force-custom-domain-in-google-app-engine/ But I would still suffer the load of processing the redirect in my app. Are there any other solutions?

I want to be able to configure a subpath to access to another app (in this case, monit). I want something like that: myapp.mycompany.com.br/monit access the monit app. Is it possible?

  Hi Would appreciate if somebody could help me on this. I have a Tree Panel whose nodes when clicked load a tab into a tab panel. The tabs are loading alright, but my problem is duplication. I need to check if a tab exists before adding it to the tab panel. I cant seem to have this resolved and it is eating my brains. This is pretty simple and I have checked stackoverflow and the EXT JS Forums for solutions but they dont seem to work for me or I'm being blind. I tried setting a rerender in the rich:tab but that's also not doing it. Any idea? Also happy about other approaches, this might be not the best one.

• JQUERY: Setting Active state on animated menu tabs

  I have image sprites that use JQuery to set the BG position on mouseover and mouseout events. When I set the active state BG position using JQUERY it works fine until I move my cursor away from the active 'tab' which then fires the mouseout event animation. What I want is the mouseClick event to stop the animation on the active tab but still allow the animation effect to work on the other tabs, and when another tab is clicked for the active state to be removed from the current tab to the new 'active' tab. • MS Access 2003 - Save button enabling on form open on different tabs

  I have a tab control on a form, and a couple different tabs have save buttons on them. • Android: Help with tabs view

  So I'm trying to build a tabs view for an Android app, and for some reason I get a force close every time I try to run it on the emulator. When I run the examples, everything shows fine, so I went as far as to just about copy most of the layout from the examples(a mix of Tabs2.java and Tabs3.java), but for some reason it still wont run, any ideas? Here is my code(List1.class is a copy from the examples for testing purposes). • OnClickListener on Tabs not working

  Greetings, I am trying to get the Click - event when clicking on the currently selected tab of my TabActivity. The onTabChangedHandler is only called whenever the tab is changed, not if the currently active Tab is clicked. The debugger tells me i have the onClickListener Registered for the TabWidget within my TabHost. Am i registering for the wrong View? • Best way and problems when using ajax tabs with an MVC PHP project

  Hi, I'm building an IMDB.com like website using PHP/jQuery and a MVC approach (no OOP). I have an index.php base controller to 'rule them all' :), a controllers folder with all the controllers, a models folder and a view folder. In some pages of the website I have tabbed navigation, when the visitor clicks on one of those tabs to get more information, jQuery gets that data using the $.post or $.get method and shows it on the tab container, obviously without refreshing the page. The problem is that those pages loaded by ajax are also generated using controllers, models, and views, and the things are getting a bit complicated for someone like me ( = 'no experience'). To dynamically get the data I some times need to include a model twice, include an include in an include in an include, send information multiple times, connect with the database again, and all sort of things like that and I'm sure there is a better and prettier way to do this. I'm searching for the best approach and common methods for this. I have no experience working with a big project like this. This is a personal project so I have full control and every answer is welcome. Thanks!!!

  Hi guys, I'm trying to build some jquery tabs based on the request (which is stored in a table). I have two pages sharing one .js file. One page is for the user to create the request, and the other is for the administrator to approve/deny the request. On the admin page, here is my javascript code: $(function() { GetRequest(); }); Which is just calling a function I have inside my .js file. All the code in the .js file is also wrapped in a '$(function(){ //...code here })'. The problem is the function isn't built yet when calling it from the page. Is there a way I can tell the page to wait until the script is complete?

• Drupal - editing tab options for a content type not showing up

  I'm working on a D5 site and a lot of the content types have the menus at the top of the edit page. Examples: Overview | Grants | Dev load | Dev render | Edit | Revisions | Track | Workflow Overview | Dev load | Dev render | Edit | Revisions | Track | Workflow | Node queue | RelatedContent I'm not sure where these tabs come from, but I need to enable the menu for a content type that doesn't have them visible. I checked the workflow setting and the content type in question was specified to use workflow. So there should be at least another tab in addition to edit. The end goal is to have revisions show up in the menu, but I need to get the menu showing first. Any ideas where to start looking?

I create a segue from that tab view controller to the destination view controller and given it an Identifer. And I call "performSegueWithIdentifier" in "viewDidAppear" to redirect the user. It works fine when the segue is "Modal", however since I want to retain the tabs, I want to call the segue through "Push". However, once I change the segue to "Push", it is not working anymore (it does not try to go to the destination view controller). The app did not crash on the simulator but just staying on the origin tab view controller.

And note that I have this kinds of tabs in more than 40 pages so I'm looking for a solution which works for all of them. This is my current Scenario I have a Multiview and some Buttons above Multiview. Each Multiview contains a module (.ascx control) whenever User clicks on a button MultiView ActiveIndex Change to specific index. Each Module (tab content) has some Ajax functionality and I want to change tab items with JQuery in order to prevent post backing page. Please give complete code, cause I don't know any Jquery. • Updating Activity UI from Different Activity Method?

  I have a tab widget where one of the tabs is a chat-type feature. I want to update the chat data at an interval (variable depending on whether the chat tab is active or not). The best approach seemed to be using an AsyncTask in my main TabActivity class, as that would avoid any issues of the chat activity being destroyed while in the background, while an AsyncTask was running. I wanted to ensure that the Activity isn't destroyed and recreated, thus causing my AsyncTask to be unable to modify the actual active Activity's data. However, now that my AsyncTask is in the TabActivity activity, I don't have a direct way to call my Chat's ListAdapter notifyDataSetChanged() from my onPostExecute() method anymore. Is there a way to get a reference to a given Tab's current Activity from the TabHost/TabActivity? Or, alternatively, can I assume my chat activity will never be destroyed as a child activity of the TabActivity activity (well, never destroyed while the TabActivity is active at least), and then just put the AsyncTask in the Chat Activity?

• WPF tabswitch/ render takes too much time..

  I have a WPF application with many tabs.. in one tab.. i make a verycomplex vector drawing consisting of thousands of drawing visuals.. (this represents a machine and all elements need to be interactable..) It takes 3/4 seconds for drawing this for the first time..After the first draw it should be done.. The problem is if i switch to another tab and comeback, it takes atlease 2,3 seconds to show the tabpage with drawing again.. Since there is no redraw, why should it take so much time..?

• onDateSet does not get called from DatePickerDialog on tablet

  I am using a DatePickerDialog to prompt the user for a date. It works fine in the simulator and on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but onDateSet does not get called on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 2. I noticed, that the dialog is bigger and shows a calendar besides the normal spin view. Can that be the problem?
