  It seems like my filesystem got corrupted somehow during the last reboot of my server. I can't fsck some logical volumes anymore. Block 196736 - internal Aborted Same happens every time, only the actual error message changes. Sometimes I get mark_block_used: (somenumber) used already, other times the block number changes. Seems like something is REALLY broken. Are there any chances I can somehow get the partitions to work again? It's a server to which I don't have physical access directly (hosted server). • Does Firefox on OS X Lion make use of Full Page Zoom for the touchpad? How to customize behavior?

  I really like the smooth pinch-zoom of Safari using the touchpad, but the two-finger scroll on Firefox is so much better than the scrolling performance in Safari. So I really like to use Firefox, but then I miss out on two-finger-double-tap to zoom to paragraph width, and the smooth pinch gesture zoom. What I'm wondering is if it is possible to write a Firefox Extension to improve the update rate of the full-page zoom in Firefox that is already functioning via the touchpad pinch gesture. I feel like it is specifically programmed to zoom at certain zoom levels: 100%, 120%, 150% (these are guesses of mine) but I think it would be great if I can get some more control there to make it work more like the zoom functionality in Safari. Also the two-finger-double-tap on a paragraph or element to zoom to it would be really awesome as well. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Full_page_zoom This seems to indicate (if "full page zoom" is what I think it is) that an extension has the ability to zoom to an arbitrary scale factor, but what remains is to find out if it is possible to obtain or hook the touchpad pinch gesture. Update: I have updated the toolkit.zoomManager.zoomValues option in about:config to include more zoom levels: .3,.5,.67,.8,.9,1,1.01,1.02,1.03,1.04,1.05,1.06,1.07,1.08,1.09,1.1,1.2,1.33,1.5,1.7,2,2.4,3 Notice how I inserted a bunch of entries between 1 and 1.1. But it isn't switching between them any faster (why would it?) so it's less usable than before because of waiting for it to respond fast enough. It's clear that re-rendering the page at a different zoom level requires time and in order for the zoom to be dynamic, some kind of screen capture and scale effect must be performed (which is what Safari does). I guess such a thing is probably doable but I don't think I could pull it off. :-/

• How To? Use an Expression Tree to call a Generic Method when the Type is only known at runtime.

  Please bear with me; I am very new to expression trees and lambda expressions, but trying to learn. This is something that I solved using reflection, but would like to see how to do it using expression trees. I have a generic function: private void DoSomeThing<T>( param object[] args ) { // Some work is done here. } that I need to call from else where in my class. Now, normally, this would be be simple: DoSomeThing<int>( blah ); but only if I know, at design time that I am working with an int. When I do not know the type until runtime is where I need the help. Like I said, I know how to do it via reflection, but I would like to do it via expression trees, as my (very limited) understanding is that I can do so. Any suggestions or points to sites where I can get this understanding, preferably with sample code?

• Creating a bare bone web-browser: After the html parser, javascript parser, etc have done their work, how do I display the content of the webpage?

  This is a personal project to learn computer programming. I took a look at this: https://www.udacity.com/course/viewer#!/c-cs262 The following is the approach taken in it: Abstract Syntax Tree is created. But javascript is still not completely broken down in order not to confuse with the html tags. Then the javascript interpreter is called on it. Javascript interpreter stores the text from the write() and document.write() to be used later. Then a graphics library in Python is called which will convert everything to a pdf file and then we convert it into png or jpeg and then display it. My Question: I want to display the actual text in a window (which I will design later) like firefox or chrome does instead of image files so that the data can be selected, copied, etc by the user of the browser. How do I accomplish this? In other words, what are the other elements of a bare bone web browser that I am missing? I would prefer to implement most of the stuff in C++ although if things seem too complicated I might go with Python to save time and create a prototype and later creating another bare bone browser in C++ and add more features. This is a project to learn more. I do realize we already have lots of reliable browsers like firefox, etc. The way I feel it is done: I think after all the broken down contents have been created by the parsers and interpreters, I will need to access them individually from within the window's code (like qt) and then decide upon a good way to display them. Javascript is parsed and executed, and DOM nodes are moved and style information is updated accordingly 18. The browser renders the page on the screen according to the DOM tree and the style information for each node 19. You see the page on the screen I need help with step 18. How do I do that? How much work do Webkit and Gecko do? I want to use a readymade layout renderer for step number 18 and not for anything that comes before that.

  I read through Ron Jacobs post on Monitoring WCF Data Services with AppFabric http://blogs.msdn.com/b/endpoint/archive/2010/06/09/tracking-wcf-data-services-with-windows-server-appfabric.aspx What is immediately striking are 2 things – it’s so easy to get monitoring data into a viewer (AppFabric Dashboard) w/ very little work.  And the 2nd thing is, why can’t this be a WCF message inspector on the dispatch side. • Developing with Fluid UI – The Fluid Home Page

Sometimes it’s referred to as the landing page, but it’s formally called the Fluid Home Page. It’s delivered with PeopleTools 8.54, and the nice thing about it is, it’s a component. That’s one thing you’ll discover with Fluid UI. Fluid UI is built int PeopleTools with Fluid UI. The Home Page is a component, the tiles or grouplets are group boxes, and the search and prompt pages are just pages. It makes it easy to find things, customize and brand the applications (and of course to see what’s going on) when you can open it in AppDesigner. To see what makes a component fluid, let’s start with the Fluid Home Page. It’s a component called PT_LANDINGPAGE. You can open it in AppDesigner and see what’s unique and different about Fluid UI. If you open the Component Properties dialog, you’ll see a new tab called Fluid On the Component Properties Fluid tab you’ll see the most important checkbox of all, Fluid Mode. That is the one flag that will tell PeopleSoft if the component is Fluid (responsive, dynamic layout) or classic (pixel perfect). Now that you know it’s a single flag, you know that a component can’t be both Fluid UI and Classic at the same time, it’s one or the other. There are some other interesting fields on this page. The Small Form Factor Optimized field tells us whether or not to display this on a small device (think smarphone). Header Toolbar Actions offer standard options that are set at the component level so you have complete control of the components header bar. You’ll notice that the PT_LANDINGPAGE has got some PostBuild PeopleCode. That’s to build the grouplets that are used to launch Fluid UI Pages (more about those later). Probably not a good idea to mess with that code! The next thing to look at is the Page Definition for the PT_LANDINGPAGE component. When you open the page PT_LANDINGPAGE it will look different than anything you’ve ever seen. You’re probably thinking “What’s up with all the group boxes”? That is where Fluid UI is so different. In classic PeopleSoft, you put a button, field, group, any control on a page and that’s where it shows up, no questions asked. With Fluid UI, everything is positioned relative to something else. That’s why there are so many containers (you know them as group boxes). They are UI objects that are used for dynamic positioning. The Fluid Home Page has some special behavior and special settings. The first is in the Web Profile Configuration settings (Main Menu->PeopleTools->Web Profile->Web Profile Configuration from the main menu). There are two checkboxes that control the behavior of Fluid UI. Disable Fluid Mode and Disable Fluid On Desktop. Disable Fluid Mode prevents any Fluid UI component from being run from this installation. This is a web profile setting for users that want to run later versions of PeopleTools but only want to run Classic PeopleSoft pages. The second setting, Disable Fluid On Desktop allows the Fluid UI to be run on mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, but prevents Fluid UI from running on a desktop computer. Fluid UI settings are also make in My Personalizations (Main Menu->My Personalizations from the Main Menu), in the General Options section. In that section, each user has the choice to determine the home page for their desktop and for tablets. Now that you know the Fluid UI landing page is just a component, and the profile and personalization settings, you should be able to launch one. It’s pretty easy to add a menu using Structure and Content, just make sure the proper security is set up. You’ll have to run a Fluid UI supported browser in order to see it. Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and IE will do. Check the certification page on MOS for all the details. When you open the first Fluid Landing Page, there’s not much there. Not to worry, we’ll get some content on it soon. Take a moment to navigate around and look at some of the header actions that were set up from the component properties. The home button takes you back to the classic system. You won’t see any notifications and the personalization doesn’t have any content to add. The NavBar icon on the top right has a lot of content, including a Navigator and Classic home. Spend some time looking through what’s available. Stay tuned for more. Next up is adding some content. • Commandline Purge in AS11

  AS11 - B2B offering consists of numerous features that have been made available via commandline approach. Most of these are supplement to the already available User Interface based approach. One such is purging of runtime data. The commandline purge option enables the users to purge the runtime data, based on various criteria. This is an ANT based command, provides the flexibility to selectively set the criteria to purge the runtime data. Providing the command line option also enables the administrator to purge in bulk, without visiting the B2B UI, which can also be used for automation purpose By default archival is turned on for purge activity. As a pre-requisite, the respective folder needs to be configured in database with the proper permission. When no filename is provided for archived data, the sysdate will be considered for filename. • Is it possible to set Transmission to show list of files as collapsed by default?

  When downloading a torrent with a large folder hierarchy, I often find myself losing overview of the content of the torrent as Transmission shows the entire folder structure expanded under Properties > Files. Most annoyingly, if one collapses the tree and closes the dialog, the tree will be expanded again if one re-access it. Is it somehow possible to set Transmission to show torrent content as collapsed by default?

Because the folders sth, other and so on contain many other things that are useless. I just want to see what's inside each folder named xxxx-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx. Is there any way?

  I have a KActorSpawnable subclass that acts weird. In PostBeginPlay, I initialize an RB_ConstraintActor; the default is not to allow rotation. If I create one in the editor, it's fine, and won't rotate. If I spawn one, it rotates. This worked, which is why I'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the other code in QuadForceKCreateBlock. I then added the internal constraint in QuadForceKActor for other purposes. When I realized I had two constraints on the CreateBlock doing the same thing, I removed the constraint code from the place where I spawn it. Then it started rotating. Is there a reason I should not be initializing an RB_ConstraintActor in PostBeginPlay? I feel like there's some basic thing about how the engine works that I'm missing.

• Alt-Tab in 12.04 requires pressing Enter to select app, can I disable that?

  Alt+Tab quickly opens the switcher for me, but tabbing over to the next app and releasing the keys will just leave it selected, not switch to it. I have to press Enter to actually switch to the app. How do I make it automatically switch when I release like every other switcher out there? Same behavior occurs when using Super+Tab with either the Compiz Ring Switcher or Shift Switcher. This seems different from the 11.10 behavior.

  In this blog I will demonstrate how we can enable attachments in Oracle Form. The user ask is to capture a job description which will be along text. Oracle Apps has a feature called attachments, through some easy setup we can enable attachments in forms. We will be going to addresscustomer ask through this feature. Step 1 : Identify Form Name First thing you have to do is to identify the form to enable attachment. In this scenario form will be PERWSDJT ( Job form in HRMS ). Step 2 :  Identify Document Entity exists or not. If exists then do nothing otherwise create new. Step 3 : Create Document Categories.
