  • Grouping Records with the same value

    I am trying to create a conversations based messaging system. I want to group all messages that have the same conversation_id so that when I display a list of current conversations you only see the latest message from each conversation. Can I group the values in the mysql query, or would I have to do it in the php?

    I have written a Text/HTML widget that uses TinyMCE to allow some basic formatting. However, when I save the changes, the data in the textarea is not getting posted. If I use just a simple textarea without TinyMCE then I can save the data properly. Any ideas?

  • slideDown() Makes Everything in Wrapper Shift

    Hello everyone, I am currently creating a simple menu where there are several names of services and a user can click on one and jQuery will show it's corresponding paragraph describing it below it. My jQuery code is fine and does exactly what I want, however, I have one bug I have yet to iron out. Whenever I click one of these headings and it's description displays, everything in the wrapper for the page shifts to the left about 7 pixels in Firefox, it does the same thing is Google Chrome however I have not measured the amout but I am sure it is irrelevant. Anyways, I am using the slideToggle() command to show the hidden parragraph. I assume this is occuring because when the slideDown occurs it is somehow changing the width of everything and the "margin: 0 auto;" setting for the wrapper rule in my css is compensating for this change. Does anyone have any way I can remedy this problem? I have tried several other fixes I've found around the internet but to no avail.     When I bind a function to a checkbox element like: $("#myCheckbox").click( function() { alert($(this).is(":checked")); }); The checkbox changes it checked attribute before the event is triggered, it's it normal behavior, thus giving and inverse result. However, when I do: $("#myCheckbox").click(); The checkbox changes it checked attribute after the event is triggered. My question is, is there a way to trigger the click event from jquery like a normal click would do (first scenario)? PS: I've already tried with trigger('click');

    I have several lists in Matlab that I want to write to the same excel file. I have one list xordered and another list aspl. I do not know the length of the lists till after I run the Matlab program. I used data = xlswrite('edgar.xls',fliplr(sortedx'),'A2:A3000') for the first list but when I tried to write another list to the same file like this I ended up with two different excel files named edgar.xls asp_data = xlswrite('edagr.xls', fliplr(aspl'), 'B2:B3000') Is there a way I can write both of these lists into the same excel file? xordered in the A column and aspl in the B column?

  • Having all Views in the Shared folder - works but is throwing "caught exceptions". Performance conc

    Hi everyone, I have a simple but heavily used app done in VS2010/MVC2. I didn't like having separate folders for each view/controller and so have all the views in the Shared folder. It's working fine but while debugging in VS, I noticed that it's throwing IO "caught exceptions" since it seems to be looking in the [FolderName]/[ViewName] folder before going down to the Shared folder. Again, the app runs fine but I'm concerned that all these "caught exceptions" will have a minor performance impact since they do have a cost in via the CLR. Is there any way I can configure the Routing so that it will only look in the Shared folder? Thanks.

    When I insert an image into OneNote 2007 using C# my images have 'Make Text in Image Searchable' set to Disabled. How do I insert an image with Make Text in Image Searchable enabled, or how do I enable this property after the image is imported. I have already imported a lot of images. How to I make the existing imported images searchable? I already know how to do this manually by right clicking the image and setting the language. The OCR works fine, I just need to do it automatically.

  • Do Hibernate table classes need to be Serializable?

    I have inherited a Websphere Portal project that uses Hibernate 3.0 to connect to a SQL Server database. There are about 130 Hibernate table classes in this project. They all implement Serializable. None of them declare a serialVersionUID field, so the Eclipse IDE shows a warning for all of these classes. Is there any actual need for these classes to implement Serializable? If so, is there any tool to add a generated serialVersionUID field to a large number of classes at once (just to make the warnings go away) ?

  • Using netlink to obtain arp entries only returns stale entries

    I'm currently trying to retrieve reachable neighbors from the arp table in a user space program written in c. I've looked through the source code to the "ip neigh" command (ipneigh.c) and it appears that I should use the flag NUD_REACHABLE. struct { struct nlmsghdr n; struct ndmsg r; } req; memset(&req, 0, sizeof(req)); req.n.nlmsg_len = NLMSG_LENGTH(sizeof(struct ndmsg)); req.n.nlmsg_flags = NLM_F_REQUEST | NLM_F_ROOT; req.n.nlmsg_type = RTM_GETNEIGH; req.r.ndm_state = NUD_REACHABLE; However, when I look at the data returned from the kernel, I only have stale entries. In fact, no matter what I put for req.r.ndm_state it seems to return only entries marked as stale by ip neigh.   • Which Android platform and API to target?

    I'm just about to launch my first Android app, and it runs on the Android 1.1 platform, API Level 2, but is this what I should officially sign and launch the app as? Does it affect performance at all or is it simply for Android to know which devices it works on? The only problem I see is that I can't specify <supports-screens> in the Manifest, which I would like to do, but it appears I'd have to launch at 1.6 at least for this to work. Would I be missing a huge number of phones by launching at 1.6 instead of 1.1? Thank you!

  • jQuery selector for option tag value attribute returns null

    Hello, I am trying to change the selected option in a select dropdown box with jQuery. I have it set so that it finds the hash tag at the end of the URL and based on that hash tag it changes the selected option in the select box. Most of my code is functional, it successfully finds the hash tag and executes the if statement that corresponds with it. However, when it goes to execute the "then" section of the statement when it goes to the selector for the option (which uses an attribute selector based on the value attribute of the option tag) it returns null. If figured this out with firebug, in the console it says that the selector is null.   • using a 64-bit compiler in microsoft visual c++

    this question is essentially identical to an earlier question i had that didn't receive any answers. hopefully someone can help me out this time. i am trying to compile a vc++ project as 64 bit using visual c++ express 2010. i know that the 64 bit compiler does not come with the default installation of vc++ express so i installed windows sdk for windows 7 as specified here (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9yb4317s.aspx) which includes the 64 bit compiler as i understand. however, there is still no 64 bit option in the configuration manager for vc++. after some searching i found and completed this tutorial (http://jenshuebel.wordpress.com/2009/02/12/visual-c-2008-express-edition-and-64-bit-targets/) as well as the various links at the bottom of this page. despite all my efforts, i still cannot get the 64 bit compiler to show in vc++ (i.e. the 64 bit compiler won't show under "active solutions platform" in the configuration manager). if anyone has any experience/tips with getting this to work i would really appreciate it. fyi - i am running windows 7(x64).

  • Custom permalinks switching function. Please check this logic...

    I've got a setting in my theme options panel to allow the user to switch the permalinks setting to support friendly URLs. I'm only allowing /%postname%/ and /%postname%.html as options. I don't want to be triggering an htaccess rewrite everytime someone accesses a page on the site or views theme options, so I'm trying to code this to avoid that. I've got an input field in theme options that's called $myTheme_permalinks. The default value for this is "/%postname%/" but the user can also change it to "/%postname%.html" Here's the code at the top of theme options to handle this setting.   • Horizontal placement of components in JSF.

    Hi, Should be simple but I couldn't find the answer, I would like to place components horizontally instead of vertically. What I'm trying to achieve is a rich:toolbar with 2 or more rows. I've been trying to do that with a toolbar that has a panelgrid and two panelgroups like this: <rich:toolbar...> <f:panelgrid columns="1"...> <f:panelgroup id="row1" .../> <-- Should be horizontal placement <f:panelgroup id="row2" .../> <-- Should be horizontal placement <f:panelgrid/> <rich:toolbar/> So how do I make the panelgroup layout horizontal (Or should I use something else?)   • Possible to InvalidateVisual() on a given region instead of entire WPF control?

    I have a complex WPF control that draws a lot of primitives in its OnRender (it's sort of like a map). When a small portion of it changes, I'd only like to re-issue render commands for the affected elements, instead of running the entire OnRender over. While I'm fine with my OnRender function's performance on a resize or whatever, it's not fast enough for mouse hover-based highlighting of primitives. Currently the only way I know how to force a screen update is to call InvalidateVisual(). No way to send in a dirty rect region to invalidate. Is the lowest granularity of WPF screen composition the UI element? Will I need to do my renders of primitives into an intermediate target and then have that use InvalidateVisual() to update to the screen?
