  • Reusing Windows Picture and Fax Viewer process to load a new image from FileSystemWatcher

    - by Cory Larson
So for an idea for my birthday party I'm setting up a photo booth. I've got software to remotely control the camera and all that, but I need to write a little application to monitor the folder where the pictures get saved and display them. Here's what I've got so far. The issue is that I don't want to launch a new Windows Photo Viewer process every time the FileSystemWatcher sees a new file, I just want to load the latest image into the current instance of the Windows Photo Viewer (or start a new one if one isn't running). class Program { static void Main(string[] args) { new Program().StartWatching(); } public void StartWatching() { FileSystemWatcher incoming = new FileSystemWatcher(); incoming.Path = @"G:\TempPhotos\"; incoming.NotifyFilter = NotifyFilters.LastWrite | NotifyFilters.FileName; incoming.Filter = "*.jpg"; incoming.Created += new FileSystemEventHandler(ShowImage); incoming.EnableRaisingEvents = true; Console.WriteLine("Press \'q\' to quit."); while (Console.Read() != 'q') ; } private void ShowImage(object source, FileSystemEventArgs e) { string s1 = Environment.ExpandEnvironmentVariables("%windir%\\system32\\rundll32.exe "); string s2 = Environment.ExpandEnvironmentVariables("%windir%\\system32\\shimgvw.dll,ImageView_Fullscreen " + e.FullPath); Process.Start(s1, s2); Console.WriteLine("{0} : Image \"{0}\" at {1:t}.", e.ChangeType, e.FullPath, DateTime. Now); } } If you don't have a tried and true solution, a simple push in the right direction would be just as valuable. And FYI, this will be running on a 64-bit Windows 7 machine. Thanks!

  • WPD on XP, Vista, and 7 (need to transfer photo and video files)

    - by Bradley Dean
I need to transfer files (still photos and videos) from any portable device that a user may connect (still camera, video camera, mobile phone, etc.) I don't need to worry about plain storage devices as these have drive letters. And I only care about existing files, I don't care about live video, preview video, taking new pictures, etc. I originally tried WIA, which works great except it can not transfer video files. So then I tried WPD, following along with dimeby8's tutorial: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dimeby8/archive/2006/09/27/774259.aspx I haven't gotten the transfer working yet (I'm converting it over to C#), but I can at least see the device and enumerate the files in Win7. In XP I get nothing. It's pointed out in this thread that WPD won't enumerate devices on XP (see Lisa O [MSFT]'s post): http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en/windowssdk/thread/56459945-b757-45df-8c9f-4ebdbbb18a2c So WIA is out because it won't do video. And WPD is out because it won't do XP. Has anyone gotten this to work? Am I missing something simple here? Thanks.

  • Bash: how to simply parallelize tasks?

    - by NoozNooz42
I'm writing a tiny script that calls the "PNGOUT" util on a few hundred PNG files. I simply did this: find $BASEDIR -iname "*png" -exec pngout {} \; And then I looked at my CPU monitor and noticed only one of the core was used, which is quite sad. In this day and age of dual, quad, octo and hexa (?) cores desktop, how do I simply parallelize this task with Bash? (it's not the first time I've had such a need, for quite a lot of these utils are mono-threaded... I already had the case with mp3 encoders). Would simply running all the pngout in the background do? How would my find command look like then? (I'm not too sure how to mix find and the '&' character) I if have three hundreds pictures, this would mean swapping between three hundreds processes, which doesn't seem great anyway!? Or should I copy my three hundreds files or so in "nb dirs", where "nb dirs" would be the number of cores, then run concurrently "nb finds"? (which would be close enough) But how would I do this?

  • mySQL Efficiency Issue - How to find the right balance of normalization...?

    - by Foo
I'm fairly new to working with relational databases, but have read a few books and know the basics of good design. I'm facing a design decision, and I'm not sure how to continue. Here's a very over simplified version of what I'm building: People can rate photos 1-5, and I need to display the average votes on the picture while keeping track of the individual votes. For example, 12 people voted 1, 7 people voted 2, etc. etc. The normalization freak of me initially designed the table structure like this: Table pictures id* | picture | userID | Table ratings id* | pictureID | userID | rating With all the foreign key constraints and everything set as they shoudl be. Every time someone rates a picture, I just insert a new record into ratings and be done with it. To find the average rating of a picture, I'd just run something like this: SELECT AVG(rating) FROM ratings WHERE pictureID = '5' GROUP by pictureID Having it setup this way lets me run my fancy statistics to. I can easily find who rated a certain picture a 3, and what not. Now I'm thinking if there's a crapload of ratings (which is very possible in what I'm really designing), finding the average will became very expensive and painful. Using a non-normalized version would seem to be more efficient. e.g.: Table picture id | picture | userID | ratingOne | ratingTwo | ratingThree | ratingFour | ratingFive To calculate the average, I'd just have to select a single row. It seems so much more efficient, but so much more uglier. Can someone point me in the right direction of what to do? My initial research shows that I have to "find the right balance", but how do I go about finding that balance? Any articles or additional reading information would be appreciated as well. Thanks.

  • Iterating Over Params Hash

    - by Joe Clark
    I'm having an extremely frustrating time getting some images to upload. They are obviously being uploaded as rack/multipart but the way that I'm iterating over my params hash must be causing the problem. I could REALLY use some help, so I can stop pulling out my hair. So I've got a params hash that looks like this: Parameters: {"commit"=>"Submit", "sighting_report"=>[{"number_seen"=>"1", "picture"=>#<File:/var/folders/IX/IXXrbzpCHkq68OuyY-yoI++++TI/-Tmp-/RackMultipart.85991.5>, "species_id"=>"2"}], "authenticity_token"=>"u0eN5MAfvGWtfEzrqBt4qfrL54VJ9SGX0jFLZCJ8iRM=", "sighting"=>{"sighting_date(2i)"=>"6", "name"=>"", "sighting_date(3i)"=>"5", "county"=>"0", "notes"=>"", "location"=>"", "sighting_date(1i)"=>"2010", "email"=>""}} My form can have multiple sighting reports with multiple pictures in each sighting report. Here's my controller code: def create_multiple @report = Report.new @report.name = params[:sighting]["name"] @report.sighting_date = Date.civil(params[:sighting][:"sighting_date(1i)"].to_i, params[:sighting][:"sighting_date(2i)"].to_i, params[:sighting][:"sighting_date(3i)"].to_i) @report.county_id = params[:sighting][:county] @report.location = params[:sighting][:location] @report.notes = params[:sighting][:notes] @report.email = params[:sighting][:email] @report.save! @report.reload for sr in params[:sighting_report] do sighting = SightingReport.new sighting.report_id = @report.id sighting.species_id = sr[:species_id] sighting.number_seen = sr[:number_seen] sighting.save if sr[:picture] sighting.reload for pic in sr[:picture] do p = SpeciesPic.new p.uploaded_picture = pic p.species_id = sighting.species_id p.report_id = @report.id p.save! end end end redirect_to :action => 'new_multiple' end

  • text not wrapping around some floated images, wraps in IE & FF but not chrome, safari

    - by Hartley
This is unlike anything I've read about and I've been totally scratching my head for the last few hours trying to figure out what's going on. I have a hand-coded site @ hartbro.com Part of the site is a blog, in which I include pictures. Here's the HTML code around one of the images that's causing trouble. <a href="blogcontent/090811.jpg" class="img"> <img src="blogcontent/090811.jpg" alt="Downed trees" width="25%" class="floatright" /></a> The storm left as quickly as it came. The sky cleared up and we were glad that the oppressive heat had let up. What I've noticed is that, on some of the blog entries that include more than one image, the 2nd image isn't really floating like its supposed to be, with the text wrapping around it. I figure its got to be some sort of conflict with some CSS that I have that's causing the problem but I just can't figure out what it is. I don't understand how it works in FF & IE but not Chrome or Safari?? Here's all of the relevant CSS, let me know if you need anything else. Thanks in advance. img{ margin:10px; } img.floatleft{ float:left; } img.floatright{ float:right; } edit: here's an screen-shot of what's happening.

  • Finding a picture in a picture with java?

    - by tarrasch
what i want to to is analyse input from screen in form of pictures. I want to be able to identify a part of an image in a bigger image and get its coordinates within the bigger picture. Example: would have to be located in And the result would be the upper right corner of the picture in the big picture and the lower left of the part in the big picture. As you can see, the white part of the picture is irrelevant, what i basically need is just the green frame. Is there a library that can do something like this for me? Runtime is not really an issue. What i want to do with this is just generating a few random pixel coordinates and recognize the color in the big picture at that position, to recognize the green box fast later. And how would it decrease performance, if the white box in the middle is transparent? The question has been asked several times on SO as it seems without a single answer. I found i found a solution at http://werner.yellowcouch.org/Papers/subimg/index.html . Unfortunately its in C++ and i do not understand a thing. Would be nice to have a Java implementation on SO.

  • CSS: Making two transparent images overlapping

    - by Pierre
    Hi all, I'm trying to make two transparent images (having the same size/dimension ) overlapping into a div at their top left corner. I tried: <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <body> <div style="margin:20px;"> <div id="main" style="overflow:hidden;background-color:red;width:400px;height:400px;border:3px solid blue;"> <img src="myimage1.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:0;"/> <img src="myimage2.png" style="position:relative;top:0px;left:0px;z-index:10;"/> </div> </div> </body> </html> but it doesn't work, the two pictures are concatenated into the parent div. Thanks for your help !

  • Text editor(FCKEditor) ruby on rails/ PHP

    - by Steven
I have an application that is running on Rials so now I want to add the text editor(FCKEditor/TinyMCE) to adit text/uploading images on website. I have google the internet until I got FCKeditor for Rails(http://rubyforge.org/projects/fckeditorp/) "which has a function of uploading pictures but ones you uploaded the images you can't delete/rename them :( " I tried to look for another solution and I got another FCKEditor - Ajax File Manager plugin for PHP(it works fine on my Rails Application) but the problem is I need some information from rails to use it in php e.g: session for the current login user. 1.) is there anyone got an Idea on how to get those Ruby sessions in php script? 2.) I looked at saving it in javascript session and access it in php via javascript cause both can talk to Javascript. 3.) or is there any Rails text editor which has a functionality of uploading/deleting the images? 4.) Or any better way of doing this... cause the only thing I need is the text editor that will allow me to uploaded/delete images NOt via the url but the one that will save the images on the server. • Should frontend and backend handled by different controllers?

    - by DR
In my previous learning projects I always used a single controller, but know I wonder if that is good practice or even always possible. In all RESTful Rails tutorials the controllers have a show, an edit and an index view. If an authorized user is logged on, the edit view becomes available and the index view shows additional data manipulation controls, like a delete button or a link to the edit view. Now I have a Rails application which falls exactly into this pattern, but the index view is not reusable: The normal user sees a flashy index page with lots of pictures, complex layout, no Javascript requirement, ... The Admin user index has a completly different minimalistic design, jQuery table and lots of additional data, ... Now I'm not sure how to handle this case. I can think of the following: Single controller, single view: The view is split into two large blocks/partials using an if statement. Single controller, two views: index and index_admin. Two different controllers: BookController and BookAdminController None of this solutions seems perfect, but for now I'm inclined to use the 3rd option. What's the preferred way to do this?

  • Sending jpegs by tcp socket...sometimes incomplete.

    - by Guy
Vb.net Hi I've been working on a project for months now (vb 2008 express). There is one final problem which I can't solve. I need to send images to a client from a 'server'(listener). The code below works most of the time but sometimes the image is incomplete. I believe this might be something to do with the tcp packet sizes varying, maybe limited by how busy it is out there on the net. I have seen examples of code that splits the image into chunks and sends them out, but I can't get them to work maybe because I'm using a different vb version. The pictures to be sent are small 20k max. Any working code examples would be wonderful. I have been experimenting and failing with this final hurdle for weeks. Thanks in anticipation. • Algorithm for scoring user activity

    - by ManBugra
I have an application where users can: Write reviews about products Add comments to products Up / Down vote reviews Up / Down vote comments Every Up/Down vote is recorded in a db table. What i want to do now is to create a ranking of the most active users in the last 4 weeks. Of course good reviews should be weighted more than good comments. But also e.g. 10 good comments should be weighted more than just one good review. Example: // reviews created in recent 4 weeks //format: [ upVoteCount, downVoteCount ] var reviews = [ [120,23], [32,12], [12,0], [23,45] ]; // comments created in recent 4 weeks // format: [ upVoteCount, downVoteCount ] var comments = [ [1,2], [322,1], [0,0], [0,45] ]; // create weight vector // format: [ reviewWeight, commentsWeight ] var weight = [0.60, 0.40]; // signature: activties..., activityWeight var userActivityScore = score(reviews, comments, weight); ... update user table ... List<Users> users = "from users u order by u.userActivityScore desc"; How would a fair scoring function look like? How could an implementation of the score() function look like? How to add a weight g to the function so that reviews are weighted heavier? How would such a function look like if, for example, votes for pictures would be added?

  • Png image processing in .NET.

    - by Oybek
I have the following task. Take a base image and overlay on it another one. The base image is 8b png as well as overlay. Here are the base (left) and overlay (right) images. Here is a result and how it must look. The picture in the left is a screenshot when one picture is on top of another (html and positioning) and the second is the result of programmatic merging. As you can see in the screenshot the borders of the text is darker. Also here are the sizes of the images Base image 14.9 KB Overlay image 6.87 KB Result image 34.8 KB The size of the resulting image is also huge Here is my code that I use to merge those pictures /*...*/ public Stream Concatinate(Stream baseStream, params Stream[] overlayStreams) { var @base = Image.FromStream(baseStream); var canvas = new Bitmap(@base.Width, @base.Height); using (var g = canvas.ToGraphics()) { g.DrawImage(@base, 0, 0); foreach (var item in overlayStreams) { using (var overlayImage = Image.FromStream(item)) { try { Overlay(@base, overlayImage, g); } catch { } } } } var ms = new MemoryStream(); canvas.Save(ms, ImageFormat.Png); canvas.Dispose(); @base.Dispose(); return ms; } /*...*/ /*Tograpics extension*/ public static Graphics ToGraphics(this Image image, CompositingQuality compositingQuality = CompositingQuality.HighQuality, SmoothingMode smoothingMode = SmoothingMode.HighQuality, InterpolationMode interpolationMode = InterpolationMode.HighQualityBicubic) { var g = Graphics.FromImage(image); g.CompositingQuality = compositingQuality; g.SmoothingMode = smoothingMode; g.InterpolationMode = interpolationMode; return g; } My questions are What should I do in order to merge images to achieve the result as in the screenshot? How can I lower the size of the result image? Is the System.Drawing a suitable tool for this or is there any better tool for working with png for .NET?

  • PHP News Feed Database & Design

    - by pws5068
I'm designing a News Feed system using PHP/MySQL similar to facebook's. I have asked a similar question before but now I've changed the design and I'm looking for feedback. Example News: User_A commented on User_B's new album. "Hey man nice pictures!" User_B added a new Photo to [his/her] profile. [show photo thumbnail] Initially, I implemented this using excessive columns for Obj1:Type1 | Obj2:Type2 | etc.. Now the design is set up using a couple special keywords, and actor/receiver relationships. My database uses a table of messages joined on a table containing userid, actionid, receiverid, receiverObjectTypeID, Here's a condensed version of what it will look like once joined: News_ID | User_ID | Message | Timestamp 2643 A %a commented on %o's new %r. SomeTimestamp 2644 B %a added a new %r to [his/her] profile. SomeTimestamp %a = the User_ID of the person doing the action %r = the receiving object %o = the owner of the receiving object (for example the owner of the album) (NULL if %r is a user) Questions: Is this a smart (efficient/scalable) way to move forward? How can I show messages like: "User_B added 4 new photos to his profile."?

  • iPhone SDK allow touches to affect multiple views

    - by Parad0x13
I have a main view that has has two buttons on it that control methods to display the next image and display the previous image. In this case the 'Image' is a class that inherits from UIImageView and has multiple pictures on it that you can interact with, and I call this class a 'Pane'. The pane itself handles all the user interaction itself while the main view controls the display of next and previous panes with the buttons. Here is my dilemma, because the pane fully covers the main view it wont allow for the user to tap the buttons on the main view! So once a pane pops up you cannot change it via the buttons! Is there a way to allow touches through transparent parts of a view, or if not how in the world do I achieve this?! I cannot pass touchesBegan or any of those methods from the pane to the superview because all of the button touch methods are created in the xib file. I cannot insert the pane under the control panel because then you wouldn't be able to interact with the pane. And as far as I know theres no way to pass touch events to every single pane within the paneHoldingArray that belongs to the main view I cannot add the command buttons inside of the pane because I want to be able to replace the command button's image with a thumbprint render of the next/previous pane. I've been stuck on this for a very long time, please somebody help me out with a fix action or a new way to re-engineer the code so that it will work!

  • PHP Thumbnail Image Resizing with proportions

    - by Sam
Hi all. As a brief run down, I am currently making a dating type site. Users can create accounts and upload profile pictures (up to 8). In order to display these in the browse area of the website, I am looking for a way in PHP (with third party processor/scripts) to resize all images uploaded to have thumbnails that adhere to certain dimensions. As an example, I will want "profile" images (thumbnails) to be NO larger than 120*150px. The scripting needs to resize uploaded images (regardless of whether they are portrait or landscape, and regardless of proportions) to adhere to these dimensions without getting stretched. The width (eg. 120pixels) should always remain the same, but the height (eg. 150px) can vary in order to keep the image in proportion. If it's a landscape photo, I'm assuming the script would need to take a chunk out of the middle of the image? The reason that all images to be resized is so that when profiles are display in a grid that all thumbnails are roughly the same size. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  • Mail "Can't continue" for a AppleScript function

    - by Paul J. Lucas
I'm trying to write an AppleScript for use with Mail (on Snow Leopard) to save image attachments of messages to a folder. The main part of the AppleScript is: property ImageExtensionList : {"jpg", "jpeg"} property PicturesFolder : path to pictures folder as text property SaveFolderName : "Fetched" property SaveFolder : PicturesFolder & SaveFolderName tell application "Mail" set theMessages to the selection repeat with theMessage in theMessages repeat with theAttachment in every mail attachment of theMessage set attachmentFileName to theAttachment's name if isImageFileName(attachmentFileName) then set attachmentPathName to SaveFolder & attachmmentFileName save theAttachment in getNonexistantFile(attachmentPathName) end if end repeat end repeat end tell on isImageFileName(theFileName) set dot to offset of "." in theFileName if dot > 0 then set theExtension to text (dot + 1) thru -1 of theFileName return theExtension is in ImageExtensionList end if return false end isImageFileName When run, I get the error: error "Mail got an error: Can’t continue isImageFileName." number -1708 where error -1708 is: Event wasnt handled by an Apple event handler. However, if I copy/paste the isImageFileName() into another script like: property imageExtensionList : {"jpg", "jpeg"} on isImageFileName(theFileName) set dot to offset of "." in theFileName if dot > 0 then set theExtension to text (dot + 1) thru -1 of theFileName return theExtension is in ImageExtensionList end if return false end isImageFileName if isImageFileName("foo.jpg") then return true else return false end if it works fine. Why does Mail complain about this?

  • [jscript] Good (better) substition for setInterval or setTimeout

    - by riffnl
I've got a masterpage with some nice UI (jQuery) features. One of these options is interefering with my embedded YouTube (or other alike-) objects. On each, in this case, setInterval event the embedded video stops displaying new frames (for like a second). More detail: I've got a "polaroid" gallery (in the header) with only 5 100x100 images in it (test: preloading has no effect on performance) and my gallery will show or hide them (fade-in / fade-out) after a period of time. (test: non-animated display:hide or display:block has no effect on performance). After some testing and I've come to the conclusion that it isn't the "animated" showing or hiding of the pictures, but it's the interval itself (- since altering to display:hide or block had the same result). Perhaps it is my "gallery" "function" on itself ... function poladroid() { if (!galleryHasFocus) { if (galleryMax >= 0) { galleryCurrent++; if (galleryCurrent > galleryMax) { galleryCurrent = 0; showPictures = !showPictures; } if (showPictures) { $('#pic-' + galleryCurrent.toString()).show("slow"); } else { $('#pic-' + galleryCurrent.toString()).hide("slow"); } } } if (!intervalSet) { window.setInterval("poladroid()", 3000); intervalSet = true; } } It's not like my function is doing really awkward stuff is it? So, I was thinking I needed a more "loose" interval function.. but is there an option for it?

After looking at the options I am aware of and was able to find doing some simple Google searches, I have narrowed it down to using either ComponentArt, Dundas Charts or Infragistics, simply because from what I can see of their demos, they have certain features I believe I will need to get things done. Here are the pictures from the mock-ups - ideally I need one piece of software that will cover all of these: This chart seems to be simple enough. Notice the arbitrary spacing between the years - not yet sure if this will be a sticking-point for the client or not. I don't know that I have ever seen a chart like this one - it combines the previous chart with some additional data. Here is the same chart, only this time illustrating what happens when a user mouses-over or clicks on an annotation within the chart. They want the nice styling within the pop-up, so the pop-up needs to be something like an iframe or similar. Any ideas or recommendations would be appreciated, I haven't used charting controls in years, so I am at a bit of a loss and the client wants an estimate soon. Thank you!

  • Apache proxy to Lighttpd: changing $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] in php

    - by watain
I have a WordPress blog running on lighttpd-1.4.19, listening on at www00:81. On the same host, apache-2.2.11 listens on port 80, which creates a proxy connection from http://blog.mydomain.org:80 to http://blog.mydomain.org:81. The Apache virtualhost looks as follows: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName blog.mydomain.org ProxyRequests Off <Proxy *> Order deny, allow Allow from all </Proxy> ProxyPass / http://blog.mydomain.org:81/ ProxyPassReverse / http://blog.mydomain.org:81/ </VirtualHost> Using debug.log-request-handling = "enable" I get the following log entry when I browse http://blog.mydomain.org:80 (notice the Host headers): 2010-05-10 08:47:14: (request.c.294) fd: 6 request-len: 853 GET / HTTP/1.1 Host: blog.mydomain.org:81 [...] 2010-05-10 08:47:15: (request.c.294) fd: 8 request-len: 754 GET /wp-content/uploads/2010/01/image.gif?w=280 HTTP/1.1 Host: www00:81 My problem: as far as I know, the PHP environment variable $_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'] is set to that Host header variable. Unfortunately, WordPress uses that variable in their system to create URLs to pictures on the blog. These URLs won't be accessible behind a firewall of course. How can I force the host header to be blog.mydomain.org instead of blog.mydomain.org:81, respectively www00:81? I already added set server.name = "blog.mydomain.org" to my lighttpd.conf, but this didn't work. Any suggestions are appreciated, thank you.

  • Application design question, best approach?

    - by Jamie Keeling
Hello, I am in the process of designing an application that will allow you to find pictures (screen shots) made from certain programs. I will provide the locations of a few of the program in the application itself to get the user started. I was wondering how I should go about adding new locations as the time goes on, my first thought was simply hard coding it into the application but this will mean the user has to reinstall it to make the changes take affect. My second idea was to use an XML file to contain all the locations as well as other data, such as the name of the application. This also means the user can add their own locations if they wish as well as sharing them over the internet. The second option seemed the best approach but then I had to think how would it be managed on the users computer. Ideally I'd like just a single .exe without the reliance on any external files such as the XML but this would bring me back to point one. Would it be best to simply use the ClickOnce deployment to create an entry in the start menu and create a folder containing the .exe and the file names? Thanks for the feedback, I don't want to start implementing the application until the design is nailed.

  • Weird camera Intent behavior

    - by David Erosa
Hi all. I'm invoking the MediaStore.ACTION_IMAGE_CAPTURE intent with the MediaStore.EXTRA_OUTPUT extra so that it does save the image to that file. On the onActivityResult I can check that the image is being saved in the intended file, which is correct. The weird thing is that anyhow, the image is also saved in a file named something like "/sdcard/Pictures/Camera/1298041488657.jpg" (epoch time in which the image was taken). I've checked the Camera app source (froyo-release branch) and I'm almost sure that the code path is correct and wouldn't have to save the image, but I'm a noob and I'm not completly sure. AFAIK, the image saving process starts with this callback (comments are mine): private final class JpegPictureCallback implements PictureCallback { ... public void onPictureTaken(...){ ... // This is where the image is passed back to the invoking activity. mImageCapture.storeImage(jpegData, camera, mLocation); ... public void storeImage(final byte[] data, android.hardware.Camera camera, Location loc) { if (!mIsImageCaptureIntent) { // Am i an intent? int degree = storeImage(data, loc); // THIS SHOULD NOT BE CALLED WITHIN THE CAPTURE INTENT!! ....... // An finally: private int storeImage(byte[] data, Location loc) { try { long dateTaken = System.currentTimeMillis(); String title = createName(dateTaken); String filename = title + ".jpg"; // Eureka, timestamp filename! ... So, I'm receiving the correct data, but it's also being saved in the "storeImage(data, loc);" method call, which should not be called... It'd not be a problem if I could get the newly created filename from the intent result data, but I can't. When I found this out, I found about 20 image files from my tests that I didn't know were on my sdcard :) I'm getting this behavior both with my Nexus One with Froyo and my Huawei U8110 with Eclair. Could please anyone enlight me? Thanks a lot.

  • Advance: Parsing XML into another XML page using only javascript or jquery; Can't use PhP, Java or MySQL

    - by UrBestFriend
Current site: http://cardwall.tk/ Example of intended outcome: http://www.shockwave.com/downloadWall.jsp I have an embeded flash object that uses XML/RSS (Picasa) to feed itself pictures. Now I created my own XML/RSS feed so that I can add additional XML tags and values. Now here's my big problem: enabling search. Since I'm not relying on Picasa's API anymore to return custom RSS/XML for the user's search, how can I create xml from another xml based on the user's search queries using only JavaScript and Jquery? Here is the current code: <script type="text/javascript"> var flashvars = { feed : "http%3A%2F%2Frssfeed.ucoz.com%2Frssfeed.xml", backgroundColor : "#FFFFFF", metadataFont : "Arial", wmode : "opaque", iFrameScrolling: "no", numRows : "3", }; var params = { allowFullScreen: "true", allowscriptaccess : "always", wmode: "opaque" }; swfobject.embedSWF("http://apps.cooliris.com/embed/cooliris.swf", "gamewall", "810", "410", "9.0.0", "", flashvars, params); $(document).ready(function() { $("#cooliris input").keydown(function(e) { if(e.keyCode == 13) { $("#cooliris a#searchCooliris").click(); return false; } }); doCoolIrisSearch = function() { cooliris.embed.setFeedContents( '** JAVA STRING OF PARSED RSS/XML based on http%3A%2F%2Frssfeed.ucoz.com%2Frssfeed.xml and USER'S SEARCH INPUT** ' ) }); <form id="searchForm" name="searchForm" class="shockwave"> <input type="text" name="coolIrisSearch" id="coolIrisSearch" value="Search..." class="field text short" onfocus="this.value='';" /> <a id="searchCooliris" href="#" onclick="doCoolIrisSearch();return false;" class="clearLink">Search Cooliris</a> </form> <div id="gamewall"></div> So basically, I want to replace cooliris.embed.setFeedContents's value with a Javastring based on the parsed RSS/XML and user search input. Any code or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
