  • Sorting a List based on an ArrayList within a custom Object

    I am using a list to keep track of a number of custom Row objects as follows: Public Rows As List(Of Row)() Row has 2 properties, Key (a String) and Cells (an ArrayList). I need to be able to sort each Row within Rows based on a developer defined index of the Cells ArrayList. So for example based on the following Rows Row1.Cells = ("b", "12") Row2.Cells = ("a", "23") Rows.Sort(0) would result in Row2 being first in the Rows list. What would be the best way of going about implementing this? Thanks

In order to achieve a full text search engine I have following doubts : For database based search engine should I use just lucene or some other utility based on Luncene like Solr, luSql, Compass etc. In case of Solr, can it be embeded in to the web applcation rather than deploying it as a seaparate WAR. For example, the $_GET query string is being set as load_master_form http://www.domain.com/settings/load_master_form And to call the method within the settings class, I am doing: function __construct(){ $this->{$_GET['method']}(); } But obviously that doesn't work - it just isn't possible to load a method like that. So how would it be done?

    I am close to finishing my first application (a UITableView style one) on the iphone but have realised it will look much better, and stand a far better chance of getting through the approval process, if it is presented as a navigation-based app rather than a view-based one - in hindsight my initial choice is not really suitable...   • Force Browser Mode=IE8 and document mode=IE8 Standards

    I have a internal website hosted on IIS. I added the following meta code and also add http-header that the page should in IE8 Browser mode and document mode. <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=8" > We tested it on Visual Studio and and it works very well. However, after we publish the code to another IIS server, one developer reported that the page render in "IE8 Comatiblity" Browser Mode which causes some JavaScript to fail. There are more then 4 people working on the same windows server 2003 (RDP sessions). We use the same version of IE (same IE actually). Everyone get "IE8" Browser Mode but one person gets "IE8 Compatibility" Browser Mode. What else can make a specific user's IE load the page in a mode other than IE8 mode? PS. We checked the compatibility list in the IE; it is empty.

I found two approaches which seemed promising at first but don't look like they will work. OpenXML SDK The OpenXML SDK isn't available for Silverlight at this time. Word Automation via COM Interop dynamic wordApplication = AutomationFactory.CreateObject("Word.Application"); Apparently this requires that the Silverlight 4 application be granted permission to run with elevated privileges, which is only available for out-of-browser applications (which ours isn't) My other thought is to hand off the request to a back-end service which doesn't have these limitations. Wanted to check for any ideas before going down that path. Thank you!

    I am trying to generate a RTF document by hand and eventually will do it programtically. I plan to improve pyRTF so that it can generate "Table of contents", which I think it can't. I am not able to use RTF controls words (\tc, \tcf and \tcl.) to generate a TOC. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa140283(office.10).aspx gives details about TOC but I couldn't find or make any example RTF which have a TOC. So is there a simple sample showing a RTF with TOC?

    I developped a package to extend Visual Studio. As part of it, I have a context menu that must process the whole text content of the active document (HTML editor). I understand how to get the current selection : TextSelection txtSelection = (TextSelection)_bllManager.CurrentDocument.Selection; But I dont't understand how to get the whole content of the code window in case nothing is selected. Currently I use a work-around doing txtSelection.SelectAll() but it moves the cursor and I don't want that. Any suggestion ? Thanks.
