  • Why do so many wpf controls implement CLR properties instead of dependency properties ?

    Hello, is it because the controls programmers are lazy, too hard to implement or not knowledgeable? Wether they are custom controls from 3rd party vendors or Microsoft itself, very much controls have often clr properties instead of DP. Result is I can not bind to them and is wpf not all about binding? :/ My next side question would be, why do so many wpf controls offer visual parts but they are not member of the visual tree ? see wpf datagrid columns, headers... What do you think?

I would to to define a hidden div with the content and display it on a hover of certain link (always in the middle of that link and it should disappear when you leave the link OR the box with your cursor).     I'm trying to load some dynamic content after the user has logged in, using $.ajax, like so: $.ajax({ url: "functions.php", type: "GET", data: login_info, datatype: 'html', async: false, success: function (response) { $('#main').html(response); } }); The problem is, that some events don't work, when loaded this way. I fixed the buttons with the .live() method, but a sortable list for example, doesn't work. How can I somehow refresh the DOM, and let jquery know of these new added elements? Thanks!

  • Getting dynamic childs for a parent in SQL

    I have a table called Categories which contains category_Id and parent_category_Id, so each category can has a child and the child can has a child and so on (it is dynamic). So if i have category A and category A has child B and child B has child C and child C has child D. I want to get all the child tree of A using SQL so when I give this query the id of A its result will be the ids of A's child which is B,C & D.....any ideas. Thanks in regards,

    I am implementing a design where my layer would sit between client and server, and whatever objects i get from server, i would wrap it in a transparent proxy and give to the client, that way i can keep a track of what changed in the object, so when saving it back, i would only send changed information. I looked at castle dynamic proxy, linfu, although they can generate a proxy type, but they cant take existing objects and wrap them instead. Wondering if its possible to do with these frameworks, or if there any other frameworks that enable this...

    Don't know the difference between the System.Window.Controls.TextBox and System.Windows.Forms.TextBox. Noticed that the System.Windows.Forms.TextBox can have InvokeRequried but System.Window.Controls.TextBox cannot. what's the counterpart of InvokeRequired for System.Window.Controls.TextBox? looks like if we have both using System.Window.Controls; and using System.Window.Forms; the code may conflict each other?
