• PHP - print content from file after manipulation

  Hello there, I'm struggling trying to read a php file inside a php and do some manipulation..after that have the content as a string, but when I try to output that with echo or print all the php tags are literally included on the file. so here is my code: function compilePage($page,$path){ $contents = array(); $menu = getMenuFor($page); $file = file_get_contents($path); array_push($contents,$menu); array_push($contents,$file); return implode("\n",$contents); } and this will return a string like <div id="content> <h2>Here is my title</h2> <p><? echo "my body text"; ?></p> </div> but this will print exactly the content above not compiling the php on it. So, how can I render this "compilePage" making sure it returns a compiled php result and not just a plain text? Thanks in advance

• Simple binary File I/O problem with cstdio(c++)

• Windows Server 2008 R2 File Permissions

  I’m having some problems understanding some particular file permissions behaviour. Here are the steps to reproduce: Log into the server using the default Administrator account Create a text file (testfile.txt) in C:\ProgramData containing some arbitrary text Create a new user account and make it a member of the Administrators group Log in using new account and open C:\ProgramData\testfile.txt Edit the text and try to save Upon clicking save I’m presented with the save as dialog, which indicates that i do not have the necessary permissions to edit the file. This seems odd considering that the new user account is a member of Administrators. When I view the permissions of the file I can see the there are three groups listed, System, Administrators and Users. SYSTEM and Administrators have full permissions, however, Users only has the Read & Execute and Read permissions checked. It would appear that when I open the testfile.txt from the new users account, it opens in the context of the Users group, despite being a member of Administrators, is this correct? It would certainly explain the behaviour. The reason that this is an issue for me is that if I deploy an application via 'Run as Administrator', will normal users be able to edit the text files I install to ProgramData. Is this behaviour confined to Windows server or is it the same in Vista and Win7.

  I have a column of product views in a database (e.g. top, bottom, front, back). I'm trying to generate a series of file inputs to allow the user to upload an image for each view. This is the result I'm after: ... <label>Top</label> <input type="file" name="image[Top]"><br> <label>Bottom</label> <input type="file" name="image[Bottom]"><br> <label>Front</label> <input type="file" name="image[Front']"><br> ...   I have a program that will read the number of rows and columns from a txt file. Also, the program has to read the contents of a 2D array from the same file. Here is the txt file 8 20 * * *** *** 8 and 20 are the number of rows and columns respectively. It seemed to work the first time but not the second. Any thoughts? I would also like some feedback on my implementation of this problem. Is there a better way? Anything to help out a novice! :)

  I'm working through a small file upload script (learning experience) and I noticed that when selecting microsoft office related files (.doc or .docx for example) the file objects do not have a type specified: For .doc files I had expected the type to be "application/msword" and along the same train of thought .docx to be "application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document". In the cases when the type cannot be determined is the correct course of action to look at the file extension and match that to the "expected" content / mime type? • Full disk encryption on dual boot system using TrueCrypt

  I'm thinking about encrypting my whole harddrive for example using TrueCrypt, which I've used for encrypting file containers for a while. It is possible to encrypt the whole harddisk through the program and then add a password secured bootloader before the actual bootloader. Is it possible to do this on a dualboot system with Windows 7 and Fedora 15 currently using Grub as the main bootloader? If so, is it possible to reinstall a system later or will that ruin the whole setup? Thanks

  I came across this error when i was trying to ajaxify my sharepoint site. After adding the AjaxifyMoss from the codeplex  developed by Richard Finn. And tried loading my site i got the error Error: The base type 'System.Web.UI.MasterPage' is not allowed for this page So  i decided to check the web.config and i noticed the SafeControl tag doesn't have the .Net 2.0 assembly included despite the fact i added both vsersios 2.0 and 3.5. Its possible the.Net  3.5 assebply overwrote the 2.0. Anyway after i added the below which is the 2.0 verison       <SafeControl Assembly="System.Web, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a" Namespace="System.Web.UI" TypeName="*" Safe="True" AllowRemoteDesigner="True" />  And refreshed my page.   After upgrading an ASP.NET application from .NET Framework 3.5 to .NET Framework 4.0 I ran into the following error message dialog when trying to view any of the modules in IIS on the server. What happened is during the upgrade, the web.config file was automatically converted for .NET Framework 4.0.  This left behind an empty system.web.extensions section: It was an easy fix to resolve, just remove the unused system.web.extensions section.   ERROR DIALOG TEXT: --------------------------- ASP --------------------------- There was an error while performing this operation. • Running Unity 2d - Does not work on actual system but works fine in VM

  So I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 and I cannot get Unity 2d to work with my system. This is particularly frustrating as it works just fine in all the VMs I've tested it on. I actually really like Unity and I want to get to know it (in part) before Ubuntu 11.04. I checked Synaptic and it looks like everything's there. The only thing not installed are dev libs and so on. Should I install those as well? Obviously the difference between my system and a VM is that the VM is running off a basically brand new OS. I only use VMs to test new stuff out and remake them often, so my only guess is that I have something installed on my system that is preventing Unity from running. Any thoughts?

• File system maintenance error, press ctrl+d to continue

  In my office I've Ubuntu 8.10 desktop installed and it's running for a long time. When ever the system is started, I'll get a file system maintenance error and something it's prompted for the root password or (press ctrl+d to continue). After pressing Ctrl+D the system normally boots up. I could not resolve this issue for a long time and I think something should be done in the fstab file. I'm not sure to do anything and expecting the experts here to help to perfectly fix this. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

• Build one to throw away vs Second-system effect

  One one hand there is an advice that says "Build one to throw away". Only after finishing a software system and seeing the end product we realize what went wrong in the design phase and understand how we should have really done it. On the other hand there is the "second-system effect" which says that the second system of the same kind that is designed is usually worse than the first one; there are many features that did not fit in the first project and were pushed into the second version usually leading to overly complex and overly engineered. Isn't here some contradiction between these principles? What is the correct view over the problems and where is the border between these two? I believe that these "good practices" are were firstly promoted in the seminal book The Mythical Man-Month by Fred Brooks. I know that some of these issues are solved by Agile methodologies, but deep down, the problem is still the principles still stand; for example we would not make important design changes 3 sprints before going live.

For example if someone uses RDS for the database server, EC2 for the application itself and S3 for hosting user uploaded media, does that make it a distributed system? If not, then what should it be called and what is this application lacking for it to be distributed? Update Here is my take on the application to clarify my approach to building the system: The application I'm building is a social game for Facebook. I developed the application locally on a LAMP stack using Symfony2. For production I used an a single EC2 Micro instance for hosting the app itself, RDS for hosting my database, S3 for the user uploaded files and CloudFront for hosting static content. I know this may sound like a naive approach, so don't be shy to express your ideas.

• Order independent transparency in particle system

  I'm writing a particle system and would like to find a trick to achieve proper alpha blending without sorting particles because: Each particle is a point sprite in a single mesh and I can't use scene graph ability to sort transparent nodes. The system node should be properly sorted, though. Particle position is computed on shader from initial velocity, acceleration and time. In order to sort the system I would have to perform all this computations on CPU, which is something I want to avoid. Sorting hundreds of particles against camera position and uploading it on GPU each frame seams to be quiet heavy operation. Alpha testing seems to be fast enough on GLES 2.0 and works fine for non-transparent but "masked" textures. Still, it's not enough for semi-transparent particles. How would you handle this?

  I am creating a medium sized website using cPanel and their File Manager system and the majority of my pages are going to be the same with a different title and content section and I wanted to see if there is a system for making one general template file and then having all the other pages inherit from that file so all I have to do is have a content and title section and the rest of the links, headers, and whatnot can be changed throughout the site by just changing one file. Is there anything like this? I have used Jinaj2 in python and a few other systems for other server scripting languages but I am not sure how to implement it with cPanel.
