  • snmp trap using disman-event mib related issue

    - by jatin bodarya
    notificationEvent ifMtu.1 IF-MIB::ifMtu.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.4.1 monitor -I -u root -s -t -r 18 "Warn: High ipp Usage" -e ifMtu.1 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.4.1 != The above lines are in my snmpd.conf file which is generating a trap when the condition evaluates to false. My issue is that I want to send "Trap Severity Levels" with it. Is it possible? If so, how? If it isn't is there any other way to send them?

  • Can Windows logoff events be tracked?

    - by Massimo
    I'm working on an application to track network user logon/logoff events in an Active Directory domain; the application will work by auditing security logs on domain controllers. Auditing logon events can get somewhat tricky, but it can succesfully be done. My problem: how can I track logoff events? Based on some research I've done, it looks like these events are only logged locally on workstations, but not on DCs; also, the "lastLogoff" attribute exists on AD user objects, but it's not actually used by anyone. This is a very specific question: is something logged on DCs when a user logs off from a domain workstation? To clarify: I'm not intereseted in other auditing mehods, I can't deploy logon/logoff scripts and I can't install anything anywhere; I also know opened and closed network sessions are logged, but this is not what I'm looking for. I need to audit interactive logons and logoffs to domain workstations, and I can do this by only reading domain controllers security logs; reading each workstation's local event logs is out of question. If this can't be done, it's ok; but I need a clear answer on that. Can this be done? If yes, how?

  • Triggering a server action on a specific event

    - by Oli
    I would like to launch a specific command [1] on a mail server whenever a message is moved from one folder into another folder. For example, a Thunderbird user moves a message from folder A to Folder B. I'd like to catch this move and launch a specific script on the server. Is it possible ? I'm using qmail with courier-imap. • Exchange IMAP4 connector - Error Event ID 2006

    - by MikeB
    Hi, A couple of users in my organisation use IMAP4 to connect to Exchange 2007 (Update rollup 9 applied) because they prefer Thunderbird / Postbox clients. One of the users is generating errors in the Application Log as follows: An exception Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConversionFailedException occurred while converting message Imap4Message 1523, user "*******", folder *********, subject: "******", date: "*******" into MIME format. Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConversionFailedException: Message content has become corrupted. ---> System.ArgumentException: Value should be a valid content type in the form 'token/token' Parameter name: value at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Mime.ContentTypeHeader.set_Value(String value) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.MimeStreamWriter.WriteHeader(HeaderId type, String data) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimeStreamAttachment(StreamAttachmentBase attachment, MimeFlags flags) --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimeStreamAttachment(StreamAttachmentBase attachment, MimeFlags flags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimeAttachment(MimePartInfo part, MimeFlags flags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimePart(MimePartInfo part, MimeFlags mimeFlags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimeParts(List`1 parts, MimeFlags mimeFlags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ItemToMimeConverter.WriteMimePart(MimePartInfo part, MimeFlags mimeFlags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ImapItemConverter.<>c__DisplayClass2.<WriteMimePart>b__0() at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ConvertUtils.CallCts(Trace tracer, String methodName, String exceptionString, CtsCall ctsCall) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ImapItemConverter.WriteMimePart(ItemToMimeConverter converter, MimeStreamWriter writer, OutboundConversionOptions options, MimePartInfo partInfo, MimeFlags conversionFlags) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ImapItemConverter.GetBody(Stream outStream) at Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Storage.ImapItemConverter.GetBody(Stream outStream, UInt32[] indices) From my reading around it seems that the suggestion is to ask users to log in to Outlook / OWA and view the messages there. However, having logged in as the users myself, the messages cannot be found either through searching or by browsing the folder detailed in the log entry. The server returns the following error to the client: "The message could not be retrieved using the IMAP4 protocol. The message has not been deleted and may be accessible using either Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Office Outlook Web Access. You can also try contacting the original sender of the message to find out about the contents of the message. Retrieval of this message will be retried when the server is updated with a fix that addresses the problem." Messages were transferred in to Exchange by copying them from the old Apple Xserve, accessed using IMAP. So my question, finally: 1. Is there any way to get the IMAP Exchange connector to rebuild its cache of messages since it doesn't seem to be pulling them directly from the MAPI store? 2. Alternatively, if there is no database, any ideas on why these messages don't appear in Outlook or OWA would be gratefully received. Many thanks, Mike

  • Domain: Netlogon event sequence

    - by Bob
    I'm getting really confused, reading tutorials from SAMBA howto, which is hell of a mess. Could you write step-by-step, what events happen upon NetLogon? Or in particular, I can't get these things: I really can't get the mechanism of action of LDAP and its role. Should I think of Active Directory LDS as of its superset? What're the other roles of AD and why this term is nearly a synonym of term "domain"? What's the role of LDAP in the remote login sequence? Does it store roaming user profiles? Does it store anything else? How it is called (are there any upper-level or lower-level services that use it in the course of NetLogon)? How do I join a domain. On the client machine I just use the Domain Controller admin credentials, but how do I prepare the Domain Controller for a new machine to join it. What's that deal of Machine trust accounts? How it is used? Suppose, I've just configured a machine to join a domain, created its machine trust, added its data to the domain controller. How would that machine find WINS server to query it for Domain Controller NetBIOS name? Does any computer name, ending with <1C type, correspond to domain controller? In what cases Kerberos and LM/NTLM are used for authentication? Where are password hashes stored in, say, Windows2000 domain controller? Right in the registry? What is SAM - is it a service, responsible for authentication and sending/storing those passwords and accompanying information, such as groups policies etc.? Who calls it? Does it use Active Directory? What's the role of NetBIOS except by name service? Can you exemplify a scenario of its usage as a "datagram distribution service for connectionless communication" or "session service for connection-oriented communication"? (quoted taken from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NetBIOS_Frames_protocol description of NetBIOS roles) Thanks and sorry for many questions.

  • Are there known policy settings causing unexpectedly terminated RDP sessions to be logged off - Event 551

    - by bernd_k
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa383015(VS.85).aspx states When a user's session is unexpectedly terminated by a network or client failure, the user is disconnected but not logged off. But since we got a new system administrator who installed some policy to terminate disconnected sessions after some hours, I never again could reconnect to to an unexpectedly terminated session (usually VPN problem) I found the following link which shows a similat scenario.

  • excel autocomplete combo-box with on-selection event

    - by IttayD
    Hi, I have an excel sheet for groceries. One column is the name, another is whether to buy it or not (checkbox) and another is the amount. I'd like to have a widget in the top row so that I start typing an item's name and it shows a list of matching items that I can select from, or if I continue to type and there's only one item, completes its name. When the last item is selected, other widgets show the amount, which I can edit and clicking 'check' will check the item in the list. I know this is kind of very specific, but am hoping someone can at least get me started. Thank you, Ittay

  • Software to automate event notifications

    - by user6781
    I maintain a small web site and people can send an email to request information about new events. I would like to automate the process of updating people about new events via email. Is there some easy existing software package to do this? Where I can configure events with a date/description/etc... and have mails get sent automatically? The alternative is to build a MySql database and have some python script in a cron job that does it. I'd like to know if this is a solved problem though. I'm running on a shared host (dreamhost if it matters)

  • gtk draw "expose-event" and redraw

    - by warem
    I want to use expose-event to draw something then update or redraw. That's to say, there are a drawing area and a button in window. When clicking button, the drawing area will be redrawn accordingly. My problems are Following code worked but it only had a drawing area no button. If I add the button(cancel the comment for button), nothing is drawn. What's the reason? In the following code, if I changed gtk_container_add (GTK_CONTAINER (box), canvas); to gtk_box_pack_start(GTK_BOX(box), canvas, FALSE, FALSE, 0);, nothing is drawn. Usually we use gtk_box_pack_start to add something into box. Why doesn't it work this time? The function build_ACC_axis refreshed drawing area and prepared for new draw. I google it but I didn't know if it worked. Could you please comment on it? If the source file is test.c, then compilation is gcc -o test test.c `pkg-config --cflags --libs gtk+-2.0` The code is below: #include <gtk/gtk.h> #include <glib.h> static void draw (GdkDrawable *d, GdkGC *gc) { /* Draw with GDK */ gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 0, 0, 50, 50); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 50, 50, 50, 150); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 50, 150, 0, 200); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 200, 0, 150, 50); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 150, 50, 150, 150); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 150, 150, 200, 200); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 50, 50, 150, 50); gdk_draw_line (d, gc, 50, 150, 150, 150); } static gboolean expose_cb (GtkWidget *canvas, GdkEventExpose *event, gpointer user_data) { GdkGC *gc; gc = gdk_gc_new (canvas->window); draw (canvas->window, gc); g_object_unref (gc); return FALSE; } void build_ACC_axis (GtkWidget *button, GtkWidget *widget) { GdkRegion *region; GtkWidget *canvas = g_object_get_data(G_OBJECT(widget), "plat_GA_canvas"); region = gdk_drawable_get_visible_region(canvas->window); gdk_window_invalidate_region(canvas->window, region, TRUE); gtk_widget_queue_draw(canvas); /* gdk_window_process_updates(canvas->window, TRUE); */ gdk_region_destroy (region); } int main (int argc, char **argv) { GtkWidget *window; GtkWidget *canvas, *box, *button; gtk_init (&argc, &argv); window = gtk_window_new (GTK_WINDOW_TOPLEVEL); g_signal_connect (G_OBJECT (window), "destroy", G_CALLBACK (gtk_main_quit), NULL); box = gtk_vbox_new(FALSE, 0); gtk_container_add (GTK_CONTAINER (window), box); canvas = gtk_drawing_area_new (); g_object_set_data(G_OBJECT(window), "plat_GA_canvas", canvas); /* gtk_box_pack_start(GTK_BOX(box), canvas, FALSE, FALSE, 0); */ gtk_container_add (GTK_CONTAINER (box), canvas); g_signal_connect (G_OBJECT (canvas), "expose-event", G_CALLBACK (expose_cb), NULL); /* button = gtk_button_new_with_label ("ok"); gtk_box_pack_start(GTK_BOX(box), button, FALSE, FALSE, 0); |+ gtk_container_add (GTK_CONTAINER (box), button); +| gtk_signal_connect(GTK_OBJECT(button), "clicked", GTK_SIGNAL_FUNC(build_ACC_axis), window); */ gtk_widget_show_all (window); gtk_main (); }

  • Implementing the double-click event on Silverlight 4 Datagrid

    - by Mohammed Mudassir Azeemi
    Any good soul have an example of implementing the "Command Pattern" introduced by Prism on "Double-click event" of Silverlight 4.0 DataGrid. I did try the following: <data:DataGrid x:Name="dgUserRoles" AutoGenerateColumns="False" Margin="0" Grid.Row="0" ItemsSource="{Binding Path=SelectedUser.UserRoles}" IsReadOnly="False" > <data:DataGrid.Columns> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn Header=" "> <data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> <DataTemplate> <Button Width="20" Height="20" Click="Button_Click" Command="{Binding EditRoleClickedCommand}" CommandParameter="{Binding SelectedRole}" > </Button> </DataTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn.CellTemplate> </data:DataGridTemplateColumn> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Role Name" Binding="{Binding RoleName}" /> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Role Code" Binding="{Binding UserroleCode}" IsReadOnly="True"/> <data:DataGridCheckBoxColumn Header="UDFM Managed" Binding="{Binding RoleIsManaged}" IsReadOnly="True" /> <data:DataGridCheckBoxColumn Header="UDFM Role Assigned" Binding="{Binding UserroleIsUdfmRoleAssignment}" IsReadOnly="True" /> <data:DataGridTextColumn Header="Source User" Binding="{Binding SourceUser}" IsReadOnly="True" /> </data:DataGrid.Columns> </data:DataGrid> As you see I did try to hook up the Command there and it is not firing the event in my View Model. Looking for a good alternative.

  • WPF: Adorner Hit Testing / MouseDown Event

    - by stefan.at.wpf
    Hello, I have an Adorner which adornes a Border (please see screenshot below). The MouseDown Event for the Adorner is however only raised, when clicking on an element in the adorner. I need the MouseDown Event to be raised, when clicking on any place in the adorner above the adorned element. How can this be done? Do I have to add an transparent control in the adorner or is there another way for this? Thanks for any help! • Using getRotationMatrix and getOrientation in Android 2.1

    - by aaronmar
    I've been having issues with this for far too long. This code should output dx,dy,dz for the accelerometer, and a running total of the dx. It should also output azimuth, pitch, and roll. I've used info from http://bit.ly/codeUsed, but to no avail. This code does not correctly output pitch, azimuth, or roll. It outputs 0.0, -0.0, -0.0 for the last three textviews, respectively. Please restore my sanity by helping me switch (event.sensor.getType()) { case Sensor.TYPE_ACCELEROMETER: accelerometerValues = event.values.clone(); case Sensor.TYPE_MAGNETIC_FIELD: geomagneticMatrix = event.values.clone(); sensorReady = true; break; default: break; } if (geomagneticMatrix != null && accelerometerValues != null && sensorReady) { sensorReady = false; float[] R = new float[16]; float[] I = new float[16]; SensorManager.getRotationMatrix(R, I, accelerometerValues, geomagneticMatrix); float[] actual_orientation = new float[3]; SensorManager.getOrientation(R, actual_orientation); tvXCoordinate.setText(accelerometerValues[0] + ""); tvYCoordinate.setText(accelerometerValues[1] + ""); tvZCoordinate.setText(accelerometerValues[2] + ""); floatXTotal += accelerometerValues[0]; tvXTotal.setText(floatXTotal + ""); tvAzimuth.setText(actual_orientation[0] + ""); tvPitch.setText(actual_orientation[1] + ""); tvRoll.setText(actual_orientation[2] + ""); }

  • iPhone App IDs and Provisioning... Does App ID get used instead of provisioning ID if I decide to us

    - by Jann
    This is a question that has been bugging me for a while. I started my app (now submitted -- not yet approved) not wishing to get into the mess that is APNS (Push). I did the following: iPhone Developer Center: Provisioning Portal-Provisioning: Then I created a Development and a Distribution Provisioning Profile. I installed both in XCode. Everything hunky dory. The Development profile scares me a bit by expiring so soon (90 days) but I can remove it from the iPhone(s) and sign it with a new one later. I tested using the Development profile, and later to submitted it by signing it with the Distribution profile. I then uploaded the Distribution profile-signed app to iTunesConnect (app store). Okay, I understand that much. Now, what I don't understand is this: Now that I understand the theories and methods behind how Push works, I am wishing to add it to my app. I already went under: iPhone Developer Center: Provisioning Portal-App IDs: and created a Development Provisioning Profile and Distribution Provisioning Profile there (push & in-app purchase enabled). Here is where it gets confusing to me. All the books and docs I have read say that I have to sign the app with this "App ID" provisioning profile (push-enabled) from now on. Does that mean I no longer ever use the previously created provisioning profiles? If I were to import these "App ID" provisioning profiles into Xcode they will exist alongside my previously generated "non-push" profiles. ~/Library/Mobile Devices/Provisioning Profiles now has 2 files. One Devel and one Distrib. It will now have 4 even though for this app I will not use the "non-push" anymore right? (actually, since they are locked by using bundle-codes and app ids i will never use it again if all of my further versions of this app use Push?) Confused. Can anyone enlighten me? Why not use the "App ID" profiles in the first place for everyone -- even if you are not gonna use push? Would keep it simpler. Should I only generate "Push Enabled" profiles from now on -- even if i am not sure I am gonna use push (or for that matter in-app purchase)? Please give me some insight. I do not wanna do this wrong. Thanks! Jann

  • PDFObject load event

    - by Priyank
    Hi. We are trying to load a pdf file in web browser using pdfobject javascript api. Currently the size of the pdf's that we are trying to display is close to 10MBs. This creates a long delay in displaying a PDF on web page; while the complete PDF gets downloaded. We need to remove this lag by achieving either of the alternatives: Show a progress bar until the PDF is actually displayed. We couldn't find an event which is triggered and can be used to find out if pdf is visible now. This lacking doesn't let us decide when to stop showing progress bar/spinner OR lazy load the PDF such that it gets displayed as soon as first page gets loaded. With that ateast user will have a visual indication as to something is happening. We couldn'find anything in pdf object that lets us do a lazy load. User alternative pdf rendering api; this is a low priority as we already have complete code in place; but in an event of first 2 alternatives not being met; we'd have to consider this option. So please feel free to suggest. Any other ideas as to how user interaction can be made more intuitive or pleasant; would be welcome. Cheers

  • Does the WMI event Win32_VolumeChangeEvent work on Windows XP

    - by Christian Rodemeyer
    I'm trying to use the following c# code to detect the attached/removed event of usb mass storage devices. I'm using the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent. // Initialize an event watcher and subscribe to events that match this query var _watcher = new ManagementEventWatcher("select * from Win32_VolumeChangeEvent"); _watcher.EventArrived += OnDeviceChanged; _watcher.Start(); void OnDeviceChanged(object sender, EventArrivedEventArgs args) { Console.WriteLine(args.NewEvent.GetText(TextFormat.Mof)); } The problem is that this works fine on Vista but it doesn't work on XP at all (no events received). The Microsoft documentation says that this should work (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394516(VS.85).aspx). I googled for this quite a while and found other that have this problem too. But I also found a couple of articles which claim that this kind of query (mostly in vbscript) works with XP. But I cannot find some offical information from microsoft for this issue and I can't believe that Microsoft have overlooked this issue for three service packs. So my question is: has anybody used the Win32_VolumeChangeEvent with success on XP or can provide a link/explanation why it shouldn't work on XP?

  • jQuery Drag/Drop problem: mousemove Event not binding for some elements

    - by saturdayplace
    Using the latest jQuery/UI that are hosted at Google. I've got the following markup: <ul id="tree"> <li><a href="1/">One</a></li> <li><a href="2/">Two</a></li> </ul> And the following javascript: $(document).ready(function(){ // Droppable callbacks function dragOver(overEvent, ui_object) { $(this).mousemove(function(moveEvent){ console.log("moved over", this); }); } function drop_deactivate() { $(this).unbind(); } function drag_out() { $(this).unbind(); } // Actual dragging $("#treeContainer li").draggable({ revert: true, revertDuration: 0 }); // Actuall dropping $("a").droppable({ tolerance: "pointer", over: dragOver, deactivate: drop_deactivate, out: drag_out }); }); If I drag the first li down over the second, the mousemove function fires (and firebug logs the output). But if I drag the second li up over the first, the mousemove function doesn't fire. You can see this live at http://jsbin.com/ivala. Is there a reason for this? Should I be trapping the mousemove event in some other way? Edit: It appears as thought the mousemove() event isn't binding for earlier elements than the one currently being dragged (should be bound upon their mouseover).

  • How to use visibilitychange event on Firefox Extensions

I can make the toolbar appear, but then it should become hidden when I open or switch to a new tab, or close the tab with that specific page. I don't understand how to make the visibilitychange event work though, no matter what I try nothing happens. window.addEventListener("load", function load(event){ window.removeEventListener("load", load, false); myExtension.init(); },false); var myExtension = { init: function (aEvent) { gBrowser.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", this.showToolbar, false); }, showToolbar: function(aEvent) { var doc = aEvent.originalTarget; if(doc.location.href=="http://www.google.ca/"){ eToolbar=document.getElementById("nav-toolbar"); eToolbar.hidden=false; //no matter how I change this line below it never does anything gBrowser.addEventListener("mozvisibilitychange", this.toggleToolbar, false); } }, toggleToolbar: function(aEvent) { eToolbar=document.getElementById("nav-toolbar"); if(document["mozVisibilityState"]=="mozHidden"){ eToolbar.hidden=true; } else { eToolbar.hidden=false; } } }

  • Javascript: Controlling the order that event handlers / listeners are exeucted in

    - by LRE
    Once again the IE Monster has hit me with an odd problem. I'm writing some changes into an asp.net site I inherited a while back. One of the problems is that in some pages there are several controls that add javascript functions as handlers to the onload event (using YUI if that matters). Some of those event handlers assume certain other functions have been executed. This is well and good in Firefox and IE7 as the handlers seem to execute in order of registration. IE8 on the other hand does this backwards. I could go with some kind of double-checking approach but given the controls are present in several pages I feel that'd create even more dependencies. So I've started cooking up my own queue class that I push the functions to and can control their execution order. Then I'll register an onload handler that instructs the queue to execute in my preferred order. I'm part way through that and have started wondering 2 things: Am I going OTT? Am I reinventing the wheel? Anyone have any insights? Any clean solutions that allow me to easily enforce execution order?
