  • Dice Emulation - ImageView

    - by Michelle Harris
    I am trying to emulate dice using ImageView. When I click the button, nothing seems to happen. I have hard coded this example to replace the image with imageView4 for debugging purposes (I was making sure the random wasn't fail). Can anyone point out what I am doing wrong? I am new to Java, Eclipse and Android so I'm sure I've probably made more than one mistake. Java: import java.util.Random; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.View; import android.widget.ArrayAdapter; import android.widget.ImageView; import android.widget.Spinner; import android.widget.Toast; public class Yahtzee4Activity extends Activity { /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); Spinner s = (Spinner) findViewById(R.id.spinner); ArrayAdapter adapter = ArrayAdapter.createFromResource( this, R.array.score_types, android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); adapter.setDropDownViewResource(android.R.layout.simple_spinner_dropdown_item); s.setAdapter(adapter); } public void onMyButtonClick(View view) { ImageView imageView1 = new ImageView(this); Random rand = new Random(); int rndInt = 4; //rand.nextInt(6) + 1; // n = the number of images, that start at index 1 String imgName = "die" + rndInt; int id = getResources().getIdentifier(imgName, "drawable", getPackageName()); imageView1.setImageResource(id); } } XML for the button: <Button android:id="@+id/button_roll" android:layout_width="wrap_content" android:layout_height="wrap_content" android:text="@string/roll" android:onClick="onMyButtonClick" />

  • OnClickListener cannot be resolved to a type

    - by Webnet
    I'm diving into Java (this is day 1) and I'm trying to create a button that will trigger a notification when I click it... The problem here is that I don't see any problems with my code in relation to the example I'm using

  • Attempted GCF app for Android

    - by Aaron
    I am new to Android and am trying to create a very basic app that calculates and displays the GCF of two numbers entered by the user. Thank you!

  • How to encrypt a RSAKey using another RSAKey?

    - by Tom Brito
    I know its not the usual thing to do. But the specification I'm implementing is discribed this way, and I cannot run out. I was trying to encrypt the modulus and exponent of the private key, but the following test code raises an exception because the byte array is 1 byte larger then the maximum allowed by RSA block: import java.security.KeyPair; import java.security.KeyPairGenerator; import java.security.NoSuchAlgorithmException; import java.security.NoSuchProviderException; import java.security.interfaces.RSAPrivateKey; import java.security.interfaces.RSAPublicKey; import javax.crypto.Cipher; import org.apache.commons.lang.ArrayUtils; public class TEST { public static KeyPair generateKeyPair() throws NoSuchAlgorithmException, NoSuchProviderException { KeyPairGenerator keyPairGenerator = KeyPairGenerator.getInstance("RSA", "BC"); keyPairGenerator.initialize(1024); return keyPairGenerator.generateKeyPair(); } public static void main(String[] args) throws Exception { KeyPair keyPair = generateKeyPair(); RSAPrivateKey privateKey = (RSAPrivateKey) keyPair.getPrivate(); System.out.println("Priv modulus len = " + privateKey.getModulus().bitLength()); System.out.println("Priv exponent len = " + privateKey.getPrivateExponent().bitLength()); System.out.println("Priv modulus toByteArray len = " + privateKey.getModulus().toByteArray().length); byte[] byteArray = privateKey.getModulus().toByteArray(); // the byte at index 0 have no value (in every generation it is always zero) byteArray = ArrayUtils.subarray(byteArray, 1, byteArray.length); System.out.println("byteArray size: " + byteArray.length); RSAPublicKey publicKey = (RSAPublicKey) keyPair.getPublic(); Cipher cipher = Cipher.getInstance("RSA", "BC"); cipher.init(Cipher.ENCRYPT_MODE, publicKey); byte[] encryptedBytes = cipher.doFinal(byteArray); System.out.println("Success!"); } } (obs. its just a test, i would never encrypt the private key with its pair public key) The byte array is 128 bytes, the exactly maximum allowed by a RSA block, so why the exception? And how to fix it?

  • Declaring models elsewhere than in "models.py" AND dynamically

    - by sebpiq
    Hi ! I have an application that splits models into different files. Actually the folder looks like : >myapp __init__.py models.py >hooks ... ... myapp don't care about what's in the hooks, folder, except that there are models, and that they have to be declared somehow. So, I put this in myapp.__init__.py : from django.conf import settings for hook in settings.HOOKS : try : __import__(hook) except ImportError as e : print "Got import err !", e #where settings.HOOKS = ("myapp.hooks.a_super_hook1", ...) The problem is that it doesn't work when I run syncdb(and throws some strange "Got import err !"... strange considering that it's related to another module of my program that I don't even import anywhere :/ ) ! So I tried successively : 1) for hook in settings.HOOKS : try : exec ("from %s import *" % hook) - doesn't work either : syncdb doesn't install the models in hooks 2) from myapp.hooks.a_super_hook1 import * - This works 3) exec("from myapp.hooks.a_super_hook1 import *") - This works to So I checked that in the test 1), the statement executed is the same than in tests 2) and 3), and it is exactly the same ... Any idea ???

  • Superclass Sensitive Actions

    - by Geertjan
    I've created a small piece of functionality that enables you to create actions for Java classes in the IDE. When the user right-clicks on a Java class, they will see one or more actions depending on the superclass of the selected class. To explain this visually, here I have "BlaTopComponent.java". I right-click on its node in the Projects window and I see "This is a TopComponent": Indeed, when you look at the source code of "BlaTopComponent.java", you'll see that it implements the TopComponent class. Next, in the screenshot below, you see that I have right-click a different class. In this case, there's an action available because the selected class implements the ActionListener class. Then, take a look at this one. Here both TopComponent and ActionListener are superclasses of the current class, hence both the actions are available to be invoked: Finally, here's a class that subclasses neither TopComponent nor ActionListener, hence neither of the actions that I created for doing something that relates to TopComponents or ActionListeners is available, since those actions are irrelevant in this context: How does this work? Well, it's a combination of my blog entries "Generic Node Popup Registration Solution" and "Showing an Action on a TopComponent Node". The cool part is that the definition of the two actions that you see above is remarkably trivial: import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; import org.openide.loaders.DataObject; import org.openide.util.Utilities; public class TopComponentSensitiveAction implements ActionListener { private final DataObject context; public TopComponentSensitiveAction() { context = Utilities.actionsGlobalContext().lookup(DataObject.class); } @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) { //Do something with the context: JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "TopComponent: " + context.getNodeDelegate().getDisplayName()); } } The above is the action that will be available if you right-click a Java class that extends TopComponent. This, in turn, is the action that will be available if you right-click a Java class that implements ActionListener: import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import javax.swing.JOptionPane; import org.openide.loaders.DataObject; import org.openide.util.Utilities; public class ActionListenerSensitiveAction implements ActionListener { private final DataObject context; public ActionListenerSensitiveAction() { context = Utilities.actionsGlobalContext().lookup(DataObject.class); } @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) { //Do something with the context: JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, "ActionListener: " + context.getNodeDelegate().getDisplayName()); } } Indeed, the classes, at this stage are the same. But, depending on what I want to do with TopComponents or ActionListeners, I now have a starting point, which includes access to the DataObject, from where I can get down into the source code, as shown here. This is how the two ActionListeners that you see defined above are registered in the layer, which could ultimately be done via annotations on the ActionListeners, of course: <folder name="Actions"> <folder name="Tools"> <file name="org-netbeans-sbas-impl-TopComponentSensitiveAction.instance"> <attr stringvalue="This is a TopComponent" name="displayName"/> <attr name="instanceCreate" methodvalue="org.netbeans.sbas.SuperclassSensitiveAction.create"/> <attr name="type" stringvalue="org.openide.windows.TopComponent"/> <attr name="delegate" newvalue="org.netbeans.sbas.impl.TopComponentSensitiveAction"/> </file> <file name="org-netbeans-sbas-impl-ActionListenerSensitiveAction.instance"> <attr stringvalue="This is an ActionListener" name="displayName"/> <attr name="instanceCreate" methodvalue="org.netbeans.sbas.SuperclassSensitiveAction.create"/> <attr name="type" stringvalue="java.awt.event.ActionListener"/> <attr name="delegate" newvalue="org.netbeans.sbas.impl.ActionListenerSensitiveAction"/> </file> </folder> </folder> <folder name="Loaders"> <folder name="text"> <folder name="x-java"> <folder name="Actions"> <file name="org-netbeans-sbas-impl-TopComponentSensitiveAction.shadow"> <attr name="originalFile" stringvalue="Actions/Tools/org-netbeans-sbas-impl-TopComponentSensitiveAction.instance"/> <attr intvalue="150" name="position"/> </file> <file name="org-netbeans-sbas-impl-ActionListenerSensitiveAction.shadow"> <attr name="originalFile" stringvalue="Actions/Tools/org-netbeans-sbas-impl-ActionListenerSensitiveAction.instance"/> <attr intvalue="160" name="position"/> </file> </folder> </folder> </folder> </folder> The most important parts of the layer registration are the lines that are highlighted above. Those lines connect the layer to the generic action that delegates back to the action listeners defined above, as follows: public final class SuperclassSensitiveAction extends AbstractAction implements ContextAwareAction { private final Map map; //This method is called from the layer, via "instanceCreate", //magically receiving a map, which contains all the attributes //that are defined in the layer for the file: static SuperclassSensitiveAction create(Map map) { return new SuperclassSensitiveAction(Utilities.actionsGlobalContext(), map); } public SuperclassSensitiveAction(Lookup context, Map m) { super(m.get("displayName").toString()); this.map = m; String superclass = m.get("type").toString(); //Enable the menu item only if //we're dealing with a class of type superclass: JavaSource javaSource = JavaSource.forFileObject( context.lookup(DataObject.class).getPrimaryFile()); try { javaSource.runUserActionTask(new ScanTask(this, superclass), true); } catch (IOException ex) { Exceptions.printStackTrace(ex); } //Hide the menu item if it isn't enabled: putValue(DynamicMenuContent.HIDE_WHEN_DISABLED, true); } @Override public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ev) { ActionListener delegatedAction = (ActionListener)map.get("delegate"); delegatedAction.actionPerformed(ev); } @Override public Action createContextAwareInstance(Lookup actionContext) { return new SuperclassSensitiveAction(actionContext, map); } private class ScanTask implements Task<CompilationController> { private SuperclassSensitiveAction action = null; private String superclass; private ScanTask(SuperclassSensitiveAction action, String superclass) { this.action = action; this.superclass = superclass; } @Override public void run(final CompilationController info) throws Exception { info.toPhase(Phase.ELEMENTS_RESOLVED); new EnableIfGivenSuperclassMatches(info, action, superclass).scan( info.getCompilationUnit(), null); } } private static class EnableIfGivenSuperclassMatches extends TreePathScanner<Void, Void> { private CompilationInfo info; private final AbstractAction action; private final String superclassName; public EnableIfGivenSuperclassMatches(CompilationInfo info, AbstractAction action, String superclassName) { this.info = info; this.action = action; this.superclassName = superclassName; } @Override public Void visitClass(ClassTree t, Void v) { Element el = info.getTrees().getElement(getCurrentPath()); if (el != null) { TypeElement te = (TypeElement) el; List<? extends TypeMirror> interfaces = te.getInterfaces(); if (te.getSuperclass().toString().equals(superclassName)) { action.setEnabled(true); } else { action.setEnabled(false); } for (TypeMirror typeMirror : interfaces) { if (typeMirror.toString().equals(superclassName)){ action.setEnabled(true); } } } return null; } } } This is a pretty cool solution and, as you can see, very generic. Create a new ActionListener, register it in the layer so that it maps to the generic class above, and make sure to set the type attribute, which defines the superclass to which the action should be sensitive.

  • Turning on collision crashes game

    - by MomentumGaming
    I am getting a null pointer excecption to both my sprite and level. I am working on my mob class, and when I try to move him and the move function is called, the game crashes after checking collision with a null pointer excecption. Taking out the one line that actually checks if the tile located in front of it fixes the problem. Also, if i keep collision ON but don't move the position of the mob (the spider) the game works fine. I will have collision, and the spider appears on the screen, only problem is, getting it to move causes this nasty error that i just can't fix. true Exception in thread "Display" java.lang.NullPointerException at com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob.Mob.collision(Mob.java:67) at com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob.Mob.move(Mob.java:38) at com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob.spider.update(spider.java:58) at com.apcompsci.game.level.Level.update(Level.java:55) at com.apcompsci.game.Game.update(Game.java:128) at com.apcompsci.game.Game.run(Game.java:106) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Here is my renderMob mehtod: public void renderMob(int xp,int yp,Sprite sprite,int flip) { xp -= xOffset; yp-=yOffset; for(int y = 0; y<32; y++) { int ya = y + yp; int ys = y; if(flip == 2||flip == 3)ys = 31-y; for(int x = 0; x<32; x++) { int xa = x + xp; int xs = x; if(flip == 1||flip == 3)xs = 31-x; if(xa < -32 || xa >=width || ya<0||ya>=height) break; if(xa<0) xa =0; int col = sprite.pixels[xs+ys*32]; if(col!= 0x000000) pixels[xa+ya*width] = col; } } } My spider class which determines the sprite and where I control movement, also rendering the spider onto the screen, when I increment ya to move the sprite, I get the crash, but without ya++, it runs flawlessly with a spider sprite on screen: package com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob; import com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob.Mob.Direction; import com.apcompsci.game.graphics.Screen; import com.apcompsci.game.graphics.Sprite; import com.apcompsci.game.level.Level; public class spider extends Mob{ Direction dir; private Sprite sprite; private boolean walking; public spider(int x, int y) { this.x = x <<4; this.y = y <<4; sprite = sprite.spider_forward; } public void update() { int xa = 0, ya = 0; ya++; if(ya<0) { sprite = sprite.spider_forward; dir = Direction.UP; } if(ya>0) { sprite = sprite.spider_back; dir = Direction.DOWN; } if(xa<0) { sprite = sprite.spider_side; dir = Direction.LEFT; } if(xa>0) { sprite = sprite.spider_side; dir = Direction.LEFT; } if(xa!= 0 || ya!= 0) { System.out.println("true"); move(xa,ya); walking = true; } else{ walking = false; } } public void render(Screen screen) { screen.renderMob(x, y, sprite, 0); } } This is th mob class that contains the move() method that is called in the spider class above. This move method calls the collision method. tile and sprite comes up null in the debugger: package com.apcompsci.game.entity.mob; import java.util.ArrayList; import java.util.List; import com.apcompsci.game.entity.Entity; import com.apcompsci.game.entity.projectile.DemiGodProjectile; import com.apcompsci.game.entity.projectile.Projectile; import com.apcompsci.game.graphics.Sprite; public class Mob extends Entity{ protected Sprite sprite; protected boolean moving = false; protected enum Direction { UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT } protected Direction dir; public void move(int xa,int ya) { if(xa != 0 && ya != 0) { move(xa,0); move(0,ya); return; } if(xa>0) dir = Direction.RIGHT; if(xa<0) dir = Direction.LEFT; if(ya>0)dir = Direction.DOWN; if(ya<0)dir = Direction.UP; if(!collision(xa,ya)){ x+= xa; y+=ya; } } public void update() { } public void shoot(int x, int y, double dir) { //dir = Math.toDegrees(dir); Projectile p = new DemiGodProjectile(x, y,dir); level.addProjectile(p); } public boolean collision(int xa,int ya) { boolean solid = false; for(int c = 0; c<4; c++) { int xt = ((x+xa) + c % 2 * 14 - 8 )/16; int yt = ((y+ya) + c / 2 * 12 +3 )/16; if(level.getTile(xt, yt).solid()) solid = true; } return solid; } public void render() { } } Finally, here is the method in which i call the add() method for the spider to add it to the level: protected void loadLevel(String path) { try{ BufferedImage image = ImageIO.read(SpawnLevel.class.getResource(path)); int w = width =image.getWidth(); int h = height = image.getHeight(); tiles = new int[w*h]; image.getRGB(0, 0, w,h, tiles,0, w); } catch(IOException e){ e.printStackTrace(); System.out.println("Exception! Could not load level file!"); } add(new spider(20,45)); } I don't think i need to include the level class but just in case, I have provided a gistHub link for better context. It contains all of the full classes listed above , plus my entity class and maybe another. Thanks for the help if you decide to do so, much appreciated! Also, please tell me if i'm in the wrong section of stackeoverflow, i figured that since this is the gamign section that it belonged but debugging code normally goes into the general section.

Today we will support XLSX and ODF as import formats and some other formats are waiting. I wanted to be able to add new importers on the fly so I don’t have to deploy web application again when I add new importer or change some existing one. In this posting I will show you how to build generic importers support to your web application. Importer interface All importers we use must have something in common so we can easily detect them. To keep things simple I will use interface here. public interface IMyImporter {     string[] SupportedFileExtensions { get; }     ImportResult Import(Stream fileStream, string fileExtension); } Our interface has the following members: SupportedFileExtensions – string array of file extensions that importer supports. This property helps us find out what import formats are available and which importer to use with given format. Import – method that does the actual importing work. Besides file we give in as stream we also give file extension so importer can decide how to handle the file. It is enough to get started. When building real importers I am sure you will switch over to abstract base class. Importer class Here is sample importer that imports data from Excel and Word documents. Importer class with no implementation details looks like this: public class MyOpenXmlImporter : IMyImporter {     public string[] SupportedFileExtensions     {         get { return new[] { "xlsx", "docx" }; }     }     public ImportResult Import(Stream fileStream, string extension)     {         // ...     } } Finding supported import formats in web application Now we have importers created and it’s time to add them to web application. Usually we have one page or ASP.NET MVC controller where we need importers. To this page or controller we add the following method that uses reflection to find all classes that implement our IMyImporter interface. private static string[] GetImporterFileExtensions() {     var types = from a in AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies()                 from t in a.GetTypes()                 where t.GetInterfaces().Contains(typeof(IMyImporter))                 select t;       var extensions = new Collection<string>();     foreach (var type in types)     {         var instance = (IMyImporter)type.InvokeMember(null,                        BindingFlags.CreateInstance, null, null, null);           foreach (var extension in instance.SupportedFileExtensions)         {             if (extensions.Contains(extension))                 continue;               extensions.Add(extension);         }     }       return extensions.ToArray(); } This code doesn’t look nice and is far from optimal but it works for us now. It is possible to improve performance of web application if we cache extensions and their corresponding types to some static dictionary. We have to fill it only once because our application is restarted when something changes in bin folder. Finding importer by extension When user uploads file we need to detect the extension of file and find the importer that supports given extension. We add another method to our page or controller that uses reflection to return us importer instance or null if extension is not supported. private static IMyImporter GetImporterForExtension(string extensionToFind) {     var types = from a in AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies()                 from t in a.GetTypes()                 where t.GetInterfaces().Contains(typeof(IMyImporter))                 select t;     foreach (var type in types)     {         var instance = (IMyImporter)type.InvokeMember(null,                        BindingFlags.CreateInstance, null, null, null);           if (instance.SupportedFileExtensions.Contains(extensionToFind))         {             return instance;         }     }       return null; } Here is example ASP.NET MVC controller action that accepts uploaded file, finds importer that can handle file and imports data. Again, this is sample code I kept minimal to better illustrate how things work. public ActionResult Import(MyImporterModel model) {     var file = Request.Files[0];     var extension = Path.GetExtension(file.FileName).ToLower();     var importer = GetImporterForExtension(extension.Substring(1));     var result = importer.Import(file.InputStream, extension);     if (result.Errors.Count > 0)     {         foreach (var error in result.Errors)             ModelState.AddModelError("file", error);           return Import();     }     return RedirectToAction("Index"); } Conclusion That’s it. Using couple of ugly methods and one simple interface we were able to add importers support to our web application. Example code here is not perfect but it works. It is possible to cache mappings between file extensions and importer types to some static variable because changing of these mappings means that something is changed in bin folder of web application and web application is restarted in this case anyway.

  • Android AsyncTask testing problem with Android Test Framework

    - by Vlad
    I have a very simple AsyncTask implementation example and have problem to test it using Android JUnit framework. It works just fine when I instantiate and execute it in normal application. However when it's executed from any of Android Testing framework classes (i.e. AndroidTestCase, ActivityUnitTestCase, ActivityInstrumentationTestCase2 etc) it behaves sarngely: - It executes doInBackground() method correctly - However it doesn't invokes any of its notification methods (onPostExecute(), onProgressUpdate(), etc) -- just silently ignores them whitout showing any errors. This is very simple AsyncTask example package kroz.andcookbook.threads.asynctask; import android.os.AsyncTask; import android.util.Log; import android.widget.ProgressBar; import android.widget.Toast; public class AsyncTaskDemo extends AsyncTask<Integer, Integer, String> { AsyncTaskDemoActivity _parentActivity; int _counter; int _maxCount; public AsyncTaskDemo(AsyncTaskDemoActivity asyncTaskDemoActivity) { _parentActivity = asyncTaskDemoActivity; } @Override protected void onPreExecute() { super.onPreExecute(); _parentActivity._progressBar.setVisibility(ProgressBar.VISIBLE); _parentActivity._progressBar.invalidate(); } @Override protected String doInBackground(Integer... params) { _maxCount = params[0]; for (_counter = 0; _counter <= _maxCount; _counter++) { try { Thread.sleep(1000); publishProgress(_counter); } catch (InterruptedException e) { // Ignore } } } @Override protected void onProgressUpdate(Integer... values) { super.onProgressUpdate(values); int progress = values[0]; String progressStr = "Counting " + progress + " out of " + _maxCount; _parentActivity._textView.setText(progressStr); _parentActivity._textView.invalidate(); } @Override protected void onPostExecute(String result) { super.onPostExecute(result); _parentActivity._progressBar.setVisibility(ProgressBar.INVISIBLE); _parentActivity._progressBar.invalidate(); } @Override protected void onCancelled() { super.onCancelled(); _parentActivity._textView.setText("Request to cancel AsyncTask"); } } This is a test case. Here AsyncTaskDemoActivity is a very simple Activity providing UI for testing AsyncTask in mode: package kroz.andcookbook.test.threads.asynctask; import java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException; import kroz.andcookbook.R; import kroz.andcookbook.threads.asynctask.AsyncTaskDemo; import kroz.andcookbook.threads.asynctask.AsyncTaskDemoActivity; import android.content.Intent; import android.test.ActivityUnitTestCase; import android.widget.Button; public class AsyncTaskDemoTest2 extends ActivityUnitTestCase<AsyncTaskDemoActivity> { AsyncTaskDemo _atask; private Intent _startIntent; public AsyncTaskDemoTest2() { super(AsyncTaskDemoActivity.class); } protected void setUp() throws Exception { super.setUp(); _startIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MAIN); } protected void tearDown() throws Exception { super.tearDown(); } public final void testExecute() { startActivity(_startIntent, null, null); Button btnStart = (Button) getActivity().findViewById(R.id.Button01); btnStart.performClick(); assertNotNull(getActivity()); } } All this code is working just fine, except the fact that AsynTask doesn't invoke it's notification methods when executed by whithin Android Testing Framework. Any ideas?

  • Joystick input in Java

    - by typoknig
    Hi all, I am making a 2D game in Java and I want to use a joystick to control the movement of some crosshairs. Right now I have it so the mouse can control those crosshairs. My only criteria for this is that the control for the crosshair must stay in the game window unless a user clicks off into another window. Basically I want my game to capture whatever device is controlling the crosshairs much like a virtual machine captures a mouse. The joystick I am using (Thrustmaster Hotas Cougar) comes with some pretty advanced features, so that may make this easier (or harder). I have tried the solution listed on this page, but I am using a 64bit computer and for some reason it does not like that. I have also tried to use the key emulation feature of my joystick, but with little success. Here is what I have so far, any pointer would be appreciated. Main Class: import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Cursor; import java.awt.event.MouseEvent; import java.awt.event.MouseMotionListener; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Image; import java.awt.image.BufferStrategy; import java.awt.image.MemoryImageSource; import java.awt.Point; import java.awt.Toolkit; import javax.swing.JFrame; public class Game extends JFrame implements MouseMotionListener{ private int windowWidth = 1280; private int windowHeight = 1024; private Crosshair crosshair; public static void main(String[] args) { new Game(); } public Game() { this.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); this.setSize(windowWidth, windowHeight); this.setResizable(false); this.setLocation(0,0); this.setVisible(true); this.createBufferStrategy(2); addMouseMotionListener(this); initGame(); while(true) { long start = System.currentTimeMillis(); gameLoop(); while(System.currentTimeMillis()-start < 5) { //empty while loop } } } private void initGame() { hideCursor(); crosshair = new Crosshair (windowWidth/2, windowHeight/2); } private void gameLoop() { //game logic drawFrame(); } private void drawFrame() { BufferStrategy bf = this.getBufferStrategy(); Graphics g = (Graphics)bf.getDrawGraphics(); try { g = bf.getDrawGraphics(); Color darkBlue = new Color(0x010040); g.setColor(darkBlue); g.fillRect(0, 0, windowWidth, windowHeight); drawCrossHair(g); } finally { g.dispose(); } bf.show(); Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().sync(); } private void drawCrossHair(Graphics g){ Color yellow = new Color (0xEDFF62); g.setColor(yellow); g.drawOval(crosshair.x, crosshair.y, 40, 40); g.fillArc(crosshair.x + 10, crosshair.y + 21 , 20, 20, -45, -90); g.fillArc(crosshair.x - 1, crosshair.y + 10, 20, 20, -135, -90); g.fillArc(crosshair.x + 10, crosshair.y - 1, 20, 20, -225, -90); g.fillArc(crosshair.x + 21, crosshair.y + 10, 20, 20, -315, -90); } @Override public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e) { //empty method } @Override public void mouseMoved(MouseEvent e) { crosshair.x = e.getX(); crosshair.y = e.getY(); } private void hideCursor() { int[] pixels = new int[16 * 16]; Image image = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createImage(new MemoryImageSource(16, 16, pixels, 0, 16)); Cursor transparentCursor = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit().createCustomCursor(image, new Point(0, 0), "invisiblecursor"); getContentPane().setCursor(transparentCursor); } } Another Class: public class Crosshair{ public int x; public int y; public Crosshair(int x, int y) { this.x = x; this.y = y; } }

  • using Unity Android In a sub view and add style and actionbar

    - by aeroxr1
    I exported a simple animation from Unity3D (version 4.5) in android project. With eclipse I modified the manifest and added another activity. In this activity I put a button that it makes start the animation,and this is the result. The action bar appear in the main activity but it doesn't in the unity's activity :( This is the unity's activity's code : package com.rabidgremlin.tut.redcube; import android.app.NativeActivity; import android.content.res.Configuration; import android.graphics.PixelFormat; import android.os.Bundle; import android.view.KeyEvent; import android.view.MotionEvent; import android.view.View; import android.view.ViewGroup; import android.view.Window; import android.view.WindowManager; import com.unity3d.player.UnityPlayer; public class UnityPlayerNativeActivity extends NativeActivity { protected UnityPlayer mUnityPlayer; // don't change the name of this variable; referenced from native code // Setup activity layout @Override protected void onCreate (Bundle savedInstanceState) { //requestWindowFeature(Window.FEATURE_NO_TITLE); super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); getWindow().takeSurface(null); //setTheme(android.R.style.Theme_NoTitleBar_Fullscreen); getWindow().setFormat(PixelFormat.RGB_565); mUnityPlayer = new UnityPlayer(this); /*if (mUnityPlayer.getSettings ().getBoolean ("hide_status_bar", true)) getWindow ().setFlags (WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN, WindowManager.LayoutParams.FLAG_FULLSCREEN); */ setContentView(mUnityPlayer); mUnityPlayer.requestFocus(); } // Quit Unity @Override protected void onDestroy () { mUnityPlayer.quit(); super.onDestroy(); } // Pause Unity @Override protected void onPause() { super.onPause(); mUnityPlayer.pause(); } // eliminiamo questa onResume() e proviamo a modificare la onResume() // Resume Unity @Override protected void onResume() { super.onResume(); mUnityPlayer.resume(); } // inseriamo qualche modifica qui // This ensures the layout will be correct. @Override public void onConfigurationChanged(Configuration newConfig) { super.onConfigurationChanged(newConfig); mUnityPlayer.configurationChanged(newConfig); } // Notify Unity of the focus change. @Override public void onWindowFocusChanged(boolean hasFocus) { super.onWindowFocusChanged(hasFocus); mUnityPlayer.windowFocusChanged(hasFocus); } // For some reason the multiple keyevent type is not supported by the ndk. // Force event injection by overriding dispatchKeyEvent(). @Override public boolean dispatchKeyEvent(KeyEvent event) { if (event.getAction() == KeyEvent.ACTION_MULTIPLE) return mUnityPlayer.injectEvent(event); return super.dispatchKeyEvent(event); } // Pass any events not handled by (unfocused) views straight to UnityPlayer @Override public boolean onKeyUp(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { return mUnityPlayer.injectEvent(event); } @Override public boolean onKeyDown(int keyCode, KeyEvent event) { return mUnityPlayer.injectEvent(event); } @Override public boolean onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event) { return mUnityPlayer.injectEvent(event); } /*API12*/ public boolean onGenericMotionEvent(MotionEvent event) { return mUnityPlayer.injectEvent(event); } } How can I add the action bar and the style of the first activity to unity's animation activity ?

  • Java Fx Data bind not working with File Read

    - by rjha94
    Hi I am using a very simple JavaFx client to upload files. I read the file in chunks of 1 MB (using Byte Buffer) and upload using multi part POST to a PHP script. I want to update the progress bar of my client to show progress after each chunk is uploaded. The calculations for upload progress look correct but the progress bar is not updated. I am using bind keyword. I am no JavaFx expert and I am hoping some one can point out my mistake. • matplotlib and python multithread file processing

    - by Napseis
    I have a large number of files to process. I have written a script that get, sort and plot the datas I want. So far, so good. I have tested it and it gives the desired result. Then I wanted to do this using multithreading. I have looked into the doc and examples on the internet, and using one thread in my program works fine. But when I use more, at some point I get random matplotlib error, and I suspect some conflict there, even though I use a function with names for the plots, and iI can't see where the problem could be. Here is the whole script should you need more comment, i'll add them. Thank you. #!/usr/bin/python import matplotlib matplotlib.use('GTKAgg') import numpy as np from scipy.interpolate import griddata import matplotlib.pyplot as plt import matplotlib.colors as mcl from matplotlib import rc #for latex import time as tm import sys import threading import Queue #queue in 3.2 and Queue in 2.7 ! import pdb #the debugger rc('text', usetex=True)#for latex map=0 #initialize the map index. • Flex 4: Traversing the Stage More Easily

In order to do this I need to find the column chart on the stage using actionscript. I've currently got 3 lines of code in here to do this: var selectedTab:NavigatorContent = this.tn.selectedChild as NavigatorContent; var colChart:ColumnChart = selectedTab.getChildByName("CC") as ColumnChart; trace(selectedTab.getChildAt(0)); Getting to the active tab in the tabnavigator is easy enough, but then selectedTab.getChildAt(0) - which I was expecting to be the chart - is a "spark.skin.spark.SkinnableContainerSkin"...anyway, I can continue to traverse the tree using this somewhat annoying code, but I'm hoping there is an easier way. So in short, at run time I want to, with as little code as possible, identify the column chart in the active tab so I can redraw it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Guyz, I am using the following code to validate an an XML file against a XSD schema package com.forat.xsd; import java.io.IOException; import java.net.URL; import javax.xml.XMLConstants; import javax.xml.transform.Source; import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamSource; import javax.xml.validation.Schema; import javax.xml.validation.SchemaFactory; import javax.xml.validation.Validator; import org.xml.sax.ErrorHandler; import org.xml.sax.SAXException; import org.xml.sax.SAXParseException; public class XSDValidate { public void validate(String xmlFile, String xsd_url) { try { SchemaFactory factory = SchemaFactory.newInstance(XMLConstants.W3C_XML_SCHEMA_NS_URI); Schema schema = factory.newSchema(new URL(xsd_url)); Validator validator = schema.newValidator(); ValidationHandler handler = new ValidationHandler(); validator.setErrorHandler(handler); validator.validate(getSource(xmlFile)); if (handler.errorsFound == true) { System.err.println("Validation Error : "+ handler.exception.getMessage()); }else { System.out.println("DONE"); } } catch (SAXException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } catch (IOException e) { e.printStackTrace(); } } private Source getSource(String resource) { return new StreamSource(XSDValidate.class.getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(resource)); } private class ValidationHandler implements ErrorHandler { private boolean errorsFound = false; private SAXParseException exception; public void error(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { this.errorsFound = true; this.exception = exception; } public void fatalError(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { this.errorsFound = true; this.exception = exception; } public void warning(SAXParseException exception) throws SAXException { } } /* * Test */ public static void main(String[] args) { new XSDValidate().validate("com/forat/xsd/reply.xml", "https://ics2wstest.ic3.com/commerce/1.x/transactionProcessor/CyberSourceTransaction_1.53.xsd"); // return error } } As appears, It is a standard code that try to validate the following XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <replyMessage xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <merchantReferenceCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</merchantReferenceCode> <requestID>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</requestID> <decision>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</decision> <reasonCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</reasonCode> <requestToken>XXXXXXXXXXXXX </requestToken> <purchaseTotals> <currency>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</currency> </purchaseTotals> <ccAuthReply> <reasonCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</reasonCode> <amount>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</amount> <authorizationCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</authorizationCode> <avsCode>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</avsCode> <avsCodeRaw>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</avsCodeRaw> <authorizedDateTime>XXXXXXXXXXXXX</authorizedDateTime> <processorResponse>0XXXXXXXXXXXXX</processorResponse> <authRecord>XXXXXXXXXXXXX </authRecord> </ccAuthReply> </replyMessage> Against the following XSD : https://ics2wstest.ic3.com/commerce/1.x/transactionProcessor/CyberSourceTransaction_1.53.xsd The error is : Validation Error : cvc-elt.1: Cannot find the declaration of element 'replyMessage'.   • Custom Java Swing Meter Control

    - by Tyler
    I'm trying to make a custom swing control that is a meter. The arrow will move up and down. Here is my current code, but I feel I've done it wrong. import java.awt.BasicStroke; import java.awt.Color; import java.awt.Graphics; import java.awt.Graphics2D; import java.awt.LinearGradientPaint; import java.awt.Polygon; import java.awt.Stroke; import java.awt.geom.Point2D; import java.awt.geom.Rectangle2D; import javax.swing.JFrame; import javax.swing.JPanel; public class meter extends JFrame { Stroke drawingStroke = new BasicStroke(2); Rectangle2D rect = new Rectangle2D.Double(105, 50, 40, 200); Double meterPercent = new Double(0.57); public meter() { setTitle("Meter"); setLayout(null); setSize(300, 300); setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); setLocationRelativeTo(null); setVisible(true); } public void paint(Graphics g) { // Paint Meter Graphics2D g1 = (Graphics2D) g; g1.setStroke(drawingStroke); g1.draw(rect); // Set Meter Colors Point2D start = new Point2D.Float(0, 0); Point2D end = new Point2D.Float(0, this.getHeight()); float[] dist = { 0.1f, 0.5f, 0.9f }; Color[] colors = { Color.green, Color.yellow, Color.red }; LinearGradientPaint p = new LinearGradientPaint(start, end, dist, colors); g1.setPaint(p); g1.fill(rect); // Make a triangle - Arrow on Meter int[] x = new int[3]; int[] y = new int[3]; int n; // count of points // Set Points for Arrow Integer meterArrowHypotenuse = (int) rect.getX(); Integer meterArrowTip = (int) rect.getY() + (int) (rect.getHeight() * (1 - meterPercent)); x[0] = meterArrowHypotenuse - 25; x[1] = meterArrowHypotenuse - 25; x[2] = meterArrowHypotenuse - 5; y[0] = meterArrowTip - 20; // Top Left y[1] = meterArrowTip + 20; // Bottom Left y[2] = meterArrowTip; // Tip of Arrow n = 3; // Number of points, 3 because its a triangle // Draw Arrow Border Polygon myTriShadow = new Polygon(x, y, n); // a triangle g1.setPaint(Color.black); g1.fill(myTriShadow); // Set Points for Arrow Board x[0] = x[0] + 1; x[1] = x[1] + 1; x[2] = x[2] - 2; y[0] = y[0] + 3; y[1] = y[1] - 3; y[2] = y[2]; Robot robot = new Robot(); Color colorMeter = robot.getPixelColor(x[2]+10, y[2]); // Draw Arrow Polygon myTri = new Polygon(x, y, n); // a triangle Color colr = new Color(colorMeter.getRed(), colorMeter.getGreen(), colorMeter.getBlue()); g1.setPaint(colr); g1.fill(myTri); } public static void main(String[] args) { new meter(); } } Thanks for looking.

  • CoreData: managedObjectContext not being created

    - by PruitIgoe
    I had to add core data to an existing project but I am having issues with the managedObjectContext... in prefix.pch I have this: #import <Availability.h> #ifndef __IPHONE_5_0 #warning "This project uses features only available in iOS SDK 5.0 and later." #endif #ifdef __OBJC__ #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import <Foundation/Foundation.h> #import <CoreData/CoreData.h> #endif ... in my appDelegate.h I have this: #import <UIKit/UIKit.h> #import "AppViewController.h" #import "DDLog.h" #import "DDASLLogger.h" #import "DDFileLogger.h" #import "DDTTYLogger.h" #import "KIP_LogManager.h" @interface AppDelegate : UIResponder <UIApplicationDelegate> { DDFileLogger* fileLogger; /*coredata*/ NSManagedObjectModel* managedObjectModel; NSManagedObjectContext* managedObjectContext; NSPersistentStoreCoordinator* persistentStoreCoordinator; } @property (strong, nonatomic) UIWindow *window; @property (strong, nonatomic) AppViewController* viewController; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectContext* managedObjectContext; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSManagedObjectModel* managedObjectModel; @property (readonly, strong, nonatomic) NSPersistentStoreCoordinator* persistentStoreCoordinator; - (void)setupLogging; - (NSString *)applicationDocumentsDirectory; in appDelegate.m this: @synthesize managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; @synthesize managedObjectModel = _managedObjectModel; @synthesize persistentStoreCoordinator = _persistentStoreCoordinator; ... - (BOOL)application:(UIApplication *)application didFinishLaunchingWithOptions:(NSDictionary *)launchOptions { //establish lumberjack logging [self setupLogging]; DDLogVerbose(@"\n\n*********************\nNEW LOG SESSION\n**********************\n\n"); //set root view controller self.window = [[UIWindow alloc] initWithFrame:[[UIScreen mainScreen] bounds]]; self.viewController = [[AppViewController alloc] init]; self.window.rootViewController = self.viewController; self.viewController.managedObjectContext = _managedObjectContext; return YES; } ... #pragma mark - CoreData Stack - (NSManagedObjectContext *)managedObjectContext { if (_managedObjectContext != nil) { return _managedObjectContext; } NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *coordinator = [self persistentStoreCoordinator]; if (coordinator != nil) { _managedObjectContext = [[NSManagedObjectContext alloc] init]; [_managedObjectContext setPersistentStoreCoordinator:coordinator]; } return _managedObjectContext; } // Returns the managed object model for the application. // If the model doesn't already exist, it is created from the application's model. - (NSManagedObjectModel *)managedObjectModel { if (_managedObjectModel != nil) { return _managedObjectModel; } NSURL *modelURL = [[NSBundle mainBundle] URLForResource:@"SPI_PAC" withExtension:@"momd"]; _managedObjectModel = [[NSManagedObjectModel alloc] initWithContentsOfURL:modelURL]; return _managedObjectModel; } - (NSPersistentStoreCoordinator *)persistentStoreCoordinator { if (persistentStoreCoordinator != nil) { return persistentStoreCoordinator; } NSMutableString* strDocsDirector = [[NSMutableString alloc] initWithString:[self applicationDocumentsDirectory]]; [strDocsDirector appendString:@"/SPI_PAC.sqlite"]; NSURL* storeURL = [NSURL URLWithString:strDocsDirector]; NSError *error = nil; persistentStoreCoordinator = [[NSPersistentStoreCoordinator alloc] initWithManagedObjectModel:[self managedObjectModel]]; if(![persistentStoreCoordinator addPersistentStoreWithType:NSSQLiteStoreType configuration:nil URL:storeURL options:nil error:&error]) { /*Error for store creation should be handled in here*/ } return persistentStoreCoordinator; } - (NSString *)applicationDocumentsDirectory { return [NSSearchPathForDirectoriesInDomains(NSDocumentDirectory, NSUserDomainMask, YES) lastObject]; } in the view controller, viewDidLoad I am logging the passed managedObjectContext and am getting null returned. Obviously I am missing something but not sure what? In viewcontroller.h I have: @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObjectModel* managedObjectModel; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSManagedObjectContext* managedObjectContext; @property (nonatomic, retain) NSPersistentStoreCoordinator* persistentStoreCoordinator; and in the viewcontroller.m: @synthesize managedObjectContext = managedObjectContext; ... DDLogVerbose(@"%@", managedObjectContext);
