  • set/unset checkboxes in JSF

    Hello, i've got one problem with checkboxes in JSF. I want them to behave dependently on each other, e.g., when i check a box which belongs to some object that has children then all checkboxes that belong to these children components must be checked either. And also when i uncheck one of child's checkbox the parent should be unchecked too. It's pretty simple with plain HTML/javascript, but i can't do anything with this under JSF. For some reason i can't set ID's for them because all checkboxes are rendered dynamically in a treetable and it prevents me from setting my own ID's, i.e. whatever i set in ID property only constant part will apply, all dynamic data that i pass is ignored. I tried to do it through valueChangeListener or validator but in both cases after i set needed values something sets them back! I don't know who does it and i can't do anything with this.   • Set Java Application's virtual machine max memory without access to VM parameters because of custom

    I'm using a Java application which allows you to import custom files. On import, these files are loaded into memory. The problem is that the files I want to import are very big, this causes an OutOfMemory exception. The crash log also informs me that the VM was started with the java parameter "-Xmx512m", I want to alter this to "-Xmx1024m" so that I got double the memory available. The problem is that this application is using it's own JRE folder and that there's a launcher written in C which is calling the jvm.dll file. In any way, java.exe or javaw.exe are never called and thus I cannot set these parameters myself (if I delete these executables it doesn't matter, can still run the application - this is not the case with the dll). So, my question is, can I set this VM parameter in an other way? I'm even willing to alter the JRE files if there is no other way.

  • CorePlot - Set y-Axis range to include all data points

    I have implemented a CorePlot graph in my iOS application, however I am unable to dynamically size the y-Axis based on the data points in the set. Some datasets range from 10-50, while others would range from 400-500. In both cases, I would like to have y-origin (0) visible. I have tried using the scaletofitplots method: [graph.defaultPlotSpace scaleToFitPlots:[graph allPlots]]; but this has no effect on the graphs, they still show the default Y-Axis range of 0 to 1. The only way that I can change the y-Axis is to do it manually via this: graph.defaultPlotSpace.yRange = [CPTPlotRange plotRangeWithLocation:CPTDecimalFromFloat(0.0f)) length:CPTDecimalFromFloat(500.0f)]; however this doesn't work well for graphs with smaller ranges (10-50), as you can imagine. Is there any method to retrieve the highest y-value from my dataset so that I can manually set the maximum y-Axis to that value? Or is there a better alternative?

    I try to prevent the Browser from using the :hover effect of the CSS. $("ul#mainFilter a").hover( function(o){ o.preventDefault(); ...do my stuff... }, function(o){ o.preventDefault(); ...do my stuff... }); I tired it with return false; to but it does not work. Does anyone know how to do this? due the answers i give you some more nfo: I have set the a and a:hover styles, in my CSS already. Now if JS is available on the clients machine, i want to overwrite the effect with a smoother one. (using jQuery color plugin) As mentioned by fudgey, a work around would be to set the style (using .css()) but i would have to overwrite every single effect specified in the CSS (see here: http://jsfiddle.net/raPeX/1/ ). I am looking for a generic solution.

    The sort question, is the an off the self function to make a graph from a set of python sets? The longer: I have several python set types. They each overlap or some are sub sets of others. I would like to make a graph (as in nodes and edges) with the edges weighted by common intersection of the sets. There are several graphing packages for python. (NetworkX, igraph,...) I am not familiar with the use of any of them. Will any of them make a graph directly from a list of sets ie, MakeGraphfromSets(alistofsets) If not do you know of an example of how to take the list of sets to define the edges. It actually looks like it might be straight forward but an example is always good to have.

    I've got a PostgreSQL 8.4 table with an auto-incrementing, but nullable, integer column. I want to update some column values and, if this column is NULL then set it to its default value (which would be an integer auto-generated from a sequence), but I want to return its value in either case. So I want something like this: UPDATE mytable SET incident_id = COALESCE(incident_id, DEFAULT), other = 'somethingelse' WHERE ... RETURNING incident_id Unfortunately, this doesn't work - it seems that DEFAULT is special and cannot be part of an expression. What's the best way to do this?

  • Why does sh/bash set command line parameter values when trying to set environment variable?

    A question on basics : While tuning environment variables for a program launched from a script, I ended up with somewhat strange behaviour with sh (which seems to be actually linked to bash) : variable setting seems to mess up with command-line parameters. Could somebody explain why does this happen? A simple script: #! /bin/sh # Messes with $1 ?? set ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M export ANT_OPTS # Works # export ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M echo "0 = $0" echo "1 = $1" When I run this with the upper alternative (set + export), the result is as following: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = ANT_OPTS=-Xmx512M But with lower alternative (export straight), the result is as I supposed: $ ./test.sh foo 0 = ./test.sh 1 = foo There is surely logical explanation, I just haven't figured it out yet.   • mysql: can't set max_allowed_package to anything grater than 16MB

    I'm not sure if this is the right place to post these kind of questions, if it's not so, please (politely) let me know... :-) I need to save files greater than 16MB on a mysql database from a php site...   • Window bounds set on window using AppleScript in OS X are being ignored

    I am trying to create a small AppleScript to create and move some Terminal windows around my screen. The problem I am running into is that in some cases, it seems that OS X is ignoring the bounds I am setting. Using the AppleScript Editor: tell application "Terminal" to set the bounds of the first window to {0, 50, 600, 700} tell application "Terminal" to get the bounds of the first window Shows the following in the Event Log: tell application "Terminal" activate set bounds of window 1 to {0, 50, 600, 700} get bounds of window 1 --> {0, 22, 600, 672} end tell Result: {0, 22, 600, 672} Visually inspecting the window that is created when the script runs shows that Result bounds are the ones being used by the window. Any ideas?

    I have 3 text boxes for a phone number. As the user types, it automatically moves from one textbox to the next. When the user presses backspace, I can move focus to the previous text box. The problem is that in IE, focus is set to the beginning of the text box.     I have a TreeView control in a Windows application. I am opening another window from the TreeView click (Single Click) event (in tabbed environment, so all windows will appear as a tab in Visual Studio). I want to set focus to one control of the new window. The problem is that, I am able to set the focus on the double click event of the TreeView. But same doesn't seem to be working with the TreeView single-click event. Any workarounds?

    Is there any way to set/update values in the settings.bundle from within your app. I am fine reading in values from the preferences into NSUserDefaults but was wondering whether you can set values from within the app. I have a web-app which I am making a iPhone client for and was thinking to include the users account details in the settings.bundle. This is fine if the user only updates the values through the Apple Application Preferences screens, but what if the user updated those values in the web app. I wanted to pull down the values from the web and then "update" the values in the settings.bundle from within the App. I am guessing that this is not possible and that maybe I need to create my own "in-app" settings screen? But thought I would check with you all first ...

    I cannot figure out how to set an estimated maximum price for a collection of records. What I want to avoid is to simply use SQL MAX, because maybe there are records with exorbitant prices. For example, in the "computers-hardware" category of OLX (http://www.olx.com/computers-hardware-cat-240) the filter for maximum price is estimately set to $1400, but sorting by price, the first items are above $10000 Maybe they calculated the average and then estimated some maximum price... what do you think? And what about the stepping? How would you calculate it?

  • Set Caret position with JTextArea in JScrollPane

    Right now I have a JTextArea inside of a JScrollPane. For the current content it has both a vertical and horizontal scroll bar showing up. I'm trying to implement a search functionality where a user can search for a certain string and it will set the caret position to the first occurrence of that string. However it seems that JScrollPane only scrolls vertically when I set my caret position. So matching strings going off the JTextArea horizontally will completely get missed and the horizontal scroll bar won't scroll at all. I'm using the basic function setCaretPosition() for the JTextArea Does anybody have any idea why my JScrollPane isn't moving horizontally using setCaretPosition() Edit: It appears the horizontal scroll bar is scrolling but it moves so little that it's barely noticeable. I can only see the very first pixel of the character. Is there a way to have the scrollbar center (or as much as possible) to the caret position?

    By default the height of an Flex Accordion container is the height of the initially selected child. I'd like to be able to set the height to the tallest child so that no resizing or scrolling is necessary when other children are selected. I do not want to use the resizeToContent property. I want the size of the container to stay constant no matter what child is selected. My current thought is to extend the accordion class setting the creation policy to "all" and then override the measure function to loop through all the children and find the tallest one and use that for the height. This seems a little kludgy though, so I'd like to know if there is a better approach. Ultimately my question is: is there a way to set the size of an accordion container such that the container never resizes and scoll bars are never necessary to display any of the children?

    I'm looking for a way to gather all of the text in a jQuery wrapped set, but I need to create spaces between sibling nodes that have no text nodes between them. For example, consider this HTML: <div> <ul> <li>List item #1.</li><li>List item #2.</li><li>List item #3.</li> </ul> </div> If I simply use jQuery's text() method to gather the text content of the <div>, like such: var $div = $('div'), text = $div.text().trim(); alert(text); that produces the following text: List item #1.List item #2.List item #3. because there is no whitespace between each <li> element. What I'm actually looking for is this (note the single space between each sentence): List item #1. List item #3. List item #3. This suggest to me that I need to traverse the DOM nodes in the wrapped set, appending the text for each to a string, followed by a space. I tried the following code: var $div = $('div'), text = ''; $div.find('*').each(function() { text += $(this).text().trim() + ' '; }); alert(text); but this produced the following text: This is list item #1.This is list item #2.This is list item #3. This is list item #1. This is list item #2. This is list item #3. I assume this is because I'm iterating through every descendant of <div> and appending the text, so I'm getting the text nodes within both <ul> and each of its <li> children, leading to duplicated text. I think I could probably find/write a plain JavaScript function to recursively walk the DOM of the wrapped set, gathering and appending text nodes - but is there a simpler way to do this using jQuery? Cross-browser consistency is very important. Thanks for any help!
