• 4 Minute Delay Between New User Registration and Receipt of Activation Email

  Hello, I am using a PHP/MySQL login script that sends a new user an activation email. When a new user registers, the info is put into MySQL pretty much instantly, but then it takes about 4 minutes for the activation email to arrive in the new user's inbox. It seems like sites like Facebook and Twitter can get out an activation email instantly when a new user registers. Is there anything that I could do to make the activation email that I'm using arrive instantly or really fast? Thanks in advance, John

  When a user has restricted rights on his/her computer and runs my Inno Setup installer, Windows pop-up an administrator login prompt. The problem is that when the administrator types in his/her username and password and logs-in, Inno Setup thinks that he or she is the logged in user and installs my app for that user instead of the original one. (I'm installing files in the {userappdata} dir) Is there a way to overcome this limitation and install for the original restricted user?

  Hi, I am using HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name to get a user id from 2 web application i'am developping. the problem is when i'am loggin in teh first application i get always HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name value (i put test in Application_AuthenticateRequest event) but when i log in teh 2nd application adn i ty to naviagte trough the 1st application teh HttpContext.Current.User.Identity.Name loses value. • Java app makes screen display unresponsive after 10 minutes of user idle time

  I've written a Java app that allows users to script mouse/keyboard input (JMacro, link not important, only for the curious). I personally use the application to automate character actions in an online game overnight while I sleep. Unfortunately, I keep coming back to the computer in the morning to find it unresponsive. Upon further testing, I'm finding that my application causes the computer to become unresponsive after about 10 minutes of user idle time (even if the application itself it simulating user activity). I can't seem to pin-point the issue, so I'm hoping somebody else might have a suggestion of where to look or what might be causing the issue. The relevant symptoms and characteristics: Unresponsiveness occurs after user is idle for 10 minutes User can still move the mouse pointer around the screen Everything but the mouse appears frozen... mouse clicks have no effect and no applications update their displays, including the Windows 7 desktop I left the task manager up along the with the app overnight so I could see the last task manager image before the screen freezes... the Java app is at normal CPU/Memory usage and total CPU usage is only ~1% After moving the mouse (in other words, the user comes back from being idle), the screen image starts updating again within 30 minutes (this is very hit and miss... sometimes 10 minutes, sometimes no results after two hours) User can CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to Windows 7's CTRL-ALT-DEL screen (after a 30 second pause). User is still able to move mouse pointer, but clicking any of the button options causes the screen to appear to freeze again On some very rare occasions, the system never freezes, and I come back to it in the morning with full responsiveness The Java app automatically stops input scripting in the middle of the night, so Windows 7 detects "real" idleness and turns the monitors into Standby mode... which they successfully come out of upon manually moving the mouse in the morning when I wake up, even though the desktop display still appears frozen Given the symptoms and characteristics of the issue, it's as if the Java app is causing the desktop display of the logged in user to stop updating, including any running applications. Programming concepts and Java packages used: Multi-threading Standard out and err are rerouted to a javax.swing.JTextArea The application uses a Swing GUI awt.Robot (very heavily used) awt.PointerInfo awt.MouseInfo System Specs: Windows 7 Professional Java 1.6.0 u17 In conclusion, I should stress that I'm not looking for any specific solutions, as I'm not asking a very specific question. I'm just wondering if anybody has run into a similar problem when using the Java libraries that I'm using. I would also gladly appreciate any suggestions for things to try to attempt to further pinpoint what is causing my problem. Thanks!   I'm probably going about this the wrong way but... I’ve added a field to the User Profile called profile_real_name which is required by the user. Is there a way to access the details in CCK? • Need help with buffer overrun.

  I've got a buffer overrun I absolutely can't see to figure out (in C). First of all, it only happens maybe 10% of the time or so. The data that it is pulling from the DB each time doesn't seem to be all that much different between executions... at least not different enough for me to find any discernible pattern as to when it happens. The exact message from Visual Studio is this: A buffer overrun has occurred in hub.exe which has corrupted the program's internal state. Press Break to debug the program or Continue to terminate the program. For more details please see Help topic 'How to debug Buffer Overrun Issues'. If I debug, I find that it is broken in __report_gsfailure() which I'm pretty sure is from the /GS flag on the compiler and also signifies that this is an overrun on the stack rather than the heap. I can also see the function it threw this on as it was leaving, but I can't see anything in there that would cause this behavior, the function has also existed for a long time (10+ years, albeit with some minor modifications) and as far as I know, this has never happened. I'd post the code of the function, but it's decently long and references a lot of proprietary functions/variables/etc. I'm basically just looking for either some idea of what I should be looking for that I haven't or perhaps some tools that may help. Unfortunately, nearly every tool I've found only helps with debugging overruns on the heap, and unless I'm mistaken, this is on the stack. Thanks in advance.

Is there a way I can re-factor the code to use tail recursion, or prevent the stack overflow. I have defined a class like this... class nodeobject(): def __init__(self,presentnode=None,parent=None): self.currentNode = presentnode self.parentNode = parent self.childs = [] I have a function which gets possible childs for every node from a pool def findchildren(node, childs): # No need to write the whole function on how it gets childs Now I have a recursive function that starts with the head node (no parent) and moves down the chain recursively for every node (base case being the last node having no children) def tree(dad,children): for child in children: childobject = nodeobject(child,dad) dad.childs.append(childobject) newchilds = findchildren(child, children) if len(newchilds) == 0: lastchild = nodeobject(newchilds,childobject) childobject.childs.append(lastchild) loopchild = copy.deepcopy(lastchild) while loopchild.parentNode != None: print "last child" else: tree(childobject,newchilds) The tree formation works for certain number of inputs only. Once the pool gets bigger, it results into "MAXIMUM RECURSION DEPTH EXCEEDED" I have tried setting the recursion limit with set.recursionlimit() and it doesn't work. THe program crashes. I want to implement a stack for recursion, can someone please help, I have gone no where even after trying for a long time ?? Also, is there any other way to fix this other than stack ?
