  • CellC data card not recognized if I boot with it in

    In 11.10 I find that I can connect to the internet via broadband connection successfully. The problem is that I cannot have the data card attached to the machine while the machine boots up. If I leave the data card in the machine during startup, the data card is not picked up and I then cannot connect to the internet. I must first boot up my machine, login, attach the data card into the usb port, wait so 30 seconds. The broadband connection name will then appear in the network dropdown at the top of the screen. An internet connect is now possible via broadband. Please let me know what must be done to fix this.

  • How much memory can i safely use on android?

    To make my game more fluid, I try to prevent memory allocations during the game I am writing. To that end, I allocate a whopping 16MB of buffers on startup and then use those as I go along. When I check in Eclipse my game now uses 24MB in total, which does not change noticeably during the game. This all works fine on the phone I have now (android 2.3, motorola defy) but I wonder if I'm going to run into problems with this on other phones or tablets that run android 2.2 or higher (which is what I'm aiming for)?

  • Suddenly Spotify doesn't work anymore

    I've been using Spotify for 18 months without a problem. I use Ubuntu 12.04. Today Spotify stopped and doesn't start anymore. I only see a quick flash of the Spotify-startup-screen and thats it. I uninstalled using Synaptic and reinstalled using Synaptic. No solution. I uninstalled using Synaptic and reinstalled by terminal. No solution. I used Backup to set the system back two days. No solution. I see no error message and I ran out of options I know of.

    Would like a script, when run, it should connect to a hidden wireless network with these details: SSID is "Wireless" Network is not broadcasting its SSID above (is hidden) WPA2-PSK, AES, password is "password" Static IP: 192.168.1.1 Def. gateway: 192.168.1.254 DNS: 192.168.1.254 No idea how to do this. But I do know the wireless interface is called wlan0 and I'm on Ubuntu 10.10. I don't want to use the built in Network Manager as it never auto-connects on startup. WICD doesn't work either. Any ideas most welcome.

I went through some headache also when we were trying to figure out how to make it work with lighttpd. this is the line that helps make it work in lighttpd. url.rewrite-once = ( ".*\?(.*)$" => "/index.php?$1", "^/js/.*$" => "$0", "^.*\.(js|ico|gif|jpg|png|css|swf |jar|class)$" => "$0", "" => "/index.php" ) but I couldn't figure out how to make it works in NginX. The webserver run just fine when we use the phpinfo.php test file. However as soon as I point it to my apps, nothing comes up. Check the error.log file and there's no error. Very mind boggling. I spent over 1 week trying to figure it out with no luck.. Please help?

  • UAC being turned off once a day on Windows 7

    I have strange problem on my HP laptop. This began to happen recently. Whenever I start my machine, Windows 7 Action Center displays the following warning: You need to restart your computer for UAC to be turned off. Actually, this does not happen if it happened once on a specific day. For example, when I start the machine in the morning, it shows up; but it never shows up in the subsequent restarts within that day. On the next day, the same thing happens again. I never disable UAC, but obviously some rootkit or virus causes this. As soon as I get this warning, I head for the UAC settings, and re-enable UAC to dismiss this warning. This is a bothersome situation as I can't fix it. First, I have run a full scan on the computer for any probable virus and malware/rootkit activity, but TrendMicro OfficeScan said that no viruses have been found. I went to an old Restore Point using Windows System Restore, but the problem was not solved. What I have tried so far (which couldn't find the rootkit): TrendMicro OfficeScan Antivirus AVAST Malwarebytes' Anti-malware Ad-Aware Vipre Antivirus GMER TDSSKiller (Kaspersky Labs) HiJackThis RegRuns UnHackMe SuperAntiSpyware Portable Tizer Rootkit Razor (*) Sophos Anti-Rootkit SpyHunter 4 There are no other strange activities on the machine. Everything works fine except this bizarre incident. What could be the name of this annoying rootkit? How can I detect and remove it? I have carefully examined all entries in the Event Viewer, but there's nothing wrong. Now I know that there is a hidden trojan (rootkit) on my machine which seems to disguise itself quite successfully. Note that I don't have the chance to remove the HDD, or reinstall the OS as this is a work machine subjected to certain IT policies on a company domain. Despite all my attempts, the problem still remains. I strictly need a to-the-point method or a pukka rootkit remover to remove whatever it is. All i did was change the android:name property. however, this completely broke the entire app. when i try to install it fails and reads Installation error: INSTALL_PARSE_FAILED_NO_CERTIFICATES when i tried to change it back to its previous state, it was still giving me the same error... what have i done!?!?!

But in release mode when somewhere in application exception occurs my global catch in Main method doesn`t catch exception. What is the problem please?

  • Trying to read FormsAuthentication tickets to read in other areas of site

    Hi, NOTE: I have included 3 links in here to my localhost areas but could not submit the post so I seperetaed them with a space character so it would post on stackoverflow. I currently have 2 ASP.NET MVC apps in my solution. First I run the first one by setting it to be startup project. It goes to the login page, from there once the data has been entered I execute the following code: var authTicket = new FormsAuthenticationTicket(1, login.LoginDataContract.MSISDN, DateTime.Now, DateTime.Now.AddMinutes(Convert.ToDouble("30")), true, ""); string cookieContents = FormsAuthentication.Encrypt(authTicket); var cookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName, cookieContents) { Expires = authTicket.Expiration, //Path = FormsAuthentication.FormsCookiePath //Path = "http://localhost" Domain = "" }; if (System.Web.HttpContext.Current != null) { System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Response.Cookies.Add(cookie); } As you can see I have set the Domain = "", so theoretically speaking it should work on any thing under my http: //localhost. Then I have set the persist security of the cookie to true so I can access it from any where under localhost. The cookie writes fine and I get logged in and all godd for now. BTW the url for this login page is: http //localhost/MyAccount/Login Now then I stop the solution and set the other MVC apps to be the startup. Then I run it. FormsAuthenticationTicket authorizationForm = FormsAuthentication.Decrypt(authorizationCookie.Value); ViewData["Message"] = authorizationForm.UserData[0].ToString(); return View(); } public ActionResult About() { return View(); } The problem is in this Home controller when I run the solution it cannot read the authentication cookie, you see the loop there it does not find the .ASPXAUTH cookie. But once it crashes in Firefox I have a look in the Page Info and then security and Cookies and its there and its the same cookie. What am I doing wrong?

    I'm trying to set java.awt.headless=true during the application startup but it appears like I'm to late and the non-headless mode is already started: static { System.setProperty("java.awt.headless", "true"); /* java.awt.GraphicsEnvironment.isHeadless() returns false */ } Is there another way set headless=true beside -Djava.awt.headless? I would prefer to not configure anything on the console. Thanks! Reto

  • Howcan I get started with Spring Batch?

    I'm trying to learn Spring Batch, but the startup guide is very confusing. Comments like You can get a pretty good idea about how to set up a job by examining the unit tests in the org.springframework.batch.sample package (in src/main/java) and the configuration in src/main/resources/jobs. aren't exactly helpful. Also I find the Sample project very complicated (17 non-empty Namespaces with 109 classes)! Is there a simpler place to get started with Spring Batch?

    Unfortunately, Devel::Cover does not yet work with threads. It doesn't work with prefork either. Being use'd in startup.pl, Devel::Cover issues Not a CODE reference. END failed--call queue aborted. perl 5.8.9, Apache 2.2.13. My OS is FreeBSD, if that matters. The same problem is reported for win32.
