    I installed VMware-Player-4.0.4-744019.i386.bundle onto Ubuntu 11.10. This worked fine. I then upgraded to Ubuntu 12.04 The upgrade appeared to be successful.     I'm trying to resize an image using stretchableImageWithLeftCapWidth: it works on the simulator, but on the device, vertical green bars appears. I've tried to use imageNamed, imageWithContentOfFile and imageWithData lo load the image, it doesnt change. When I try to mix them I got the right "RGB"-results like green + red = yellow yellow + blue = white but not the right "natural-wet-paint"-results. Any good idea how to mix RGB in a natural way? It would be great if someone knew a solution within the Microsoft.Xna.Framework.Graphics namespace but a generic solution would also help :)

    Anyone know of a simple way of converting the RGBint value returned from <BufferedImage> getRGB(i,j) into a greyscale value? I was going to simply average the RGB values by breaking them up using this; int alpha = (pixel >> 24) & 0xff; int red = (pixel >> 16) & 0xff; int green = (pixel >> 8) & 0xff; int blue = (pixel) & 0xff; and then average red,green,blue. But i feel like for such a simple operation I must be missing something...
