  • Curl Wrapper Class does not return any data even though it worked previously?

    - by Scott Faisal
    We changed servers and installed all necessary software and just cannot seem to pin point what is going on. A simple CURL request does not return anything. Command Line CURL commands work just fine. We are using a wrapper for CURL utilizing streams. Do PHP streams require any out of the ordinary configuration? We are using the latest Lamp stack. This is the var_dump: object(cURL_Response)#180 (14) { ["cURL:private"]= resource(288) of type (curl) ["data_stream:private"]= object(elTempStream)#178 (1) { ["fp"]= resource(290) of type (stream) } ["request_header:private"]= NULL ["response_header:private"]= object(cURL_Headers)#179 (1) { ["headers:private"]= string(0) "" } ["response_headers:private"]= array(1) { [0]= object(cURL_Headers)#179 (1) { ["headers:private"]= string(0) "" } } ["error:private"]= string(0) "" ["errno:private"]= int(0) ["info:private"]= array(21) { ["url"]= string(21) "http://www.yahoo.com/" ["content_type"]= string(23) "text/html;charset=utf-8" ["http_code"]= int(200) ["header_size"]= int(1195) ["request_size"]= int(1153) ["filetime"]= int(-1) ["ssl_verify_result"]= int(0) ["redirect_count"]= int(1) ["total_time"]= float(0.486924) ["namelookup_time"]= float(0.003692) ["connect_time"]= float(0.005709) ["pretransfer_time"]= float(0.005714) ["size_upload"]= float(0) ["size_download"]= float(28509) ["speed_download"]= float(58549) ["speed_upload"]= float(0) ["download_content_length"]= float(211) ["upload_content_length"]= float(0) ["starttransfer_time"]= float(0.149365) ["redirect_time"]= float(0.312743) ["request_header"]= string(973) "GET / HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: cURL_ClientBase (PHP v/5.2.6-1+lenny4) Host: www.yahoo.com Accept: / Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, compress Referer: http://yahoo.com Cookie: B=e5iber15t7u05&b=3&s=ie; fpc_s=d=GGX6WCTIR29HWsjgLxFejKc_YJWxRqm3jYdEd6lu7W5ophpuAHBm6JGtNvhv97anG4VtaIMHQBPg3JAMOZGq59Lz_tRn_TFXgUT8T_at5HdCktVJLycy&v=2; fpt=d=nt1OT7HPe9wVIkHbMkpzQOgbP3.mQ3o1SPX7k5ztrFrWeeSWK5IgQooRY.8KtTeRMiaSEZ0kv3sO1MWtEsAzjVlRCDAZBoxqOs17v6PaZbPRqmDc92ivoMia.CqjufRs4_guOO4AyhRZ7_ml8rzxFrYeexpR2jLN0oPMyEWT0nbEf6Sdf._Bkh0HMfmI7KBnEx5uZBEEmV.wTfGRLG7zSd9sA4itOFv.r6AjP39CnogSn7NTJnqg_kEcKoiCM.lR5w_MqMc8IgWMBgSAZZgGEZpfmvxlQGnUzPwNh2pSpTe2wxFS3v1zPopDgoo2VsO3uzeyA3A_j7Hlk1P8T08DHbfr6ApDMUcr7d0QIt4pGYIxVV45XzfgpT7mgUdMei6VZrD9ozVQF0oqxrs1Ufri.XzPdB3NdQ--&v=1; fpc=d=sRPCfUfBTW96.RGiQn4hSkfi3p7WnPCAqYl5YoHecI7zjg7gH7PolscoPcq1Esm8dR.Rg1.AbQCpo2WBPXn1St96PpcjeCC.pj2.Upb3mKSRQkYPIVP1vQcL9nL7J8s9Z0VIXjiBFgSUcxyzDeUdP4us2YbVO3PbaVIwaIEfFsX3WI7YgiTbkrTGtwnFgoSYq6l8tnw-&v=2" } ["info_flagged:private"]= array(20) { [1048577]= string(21) "http://www.yahoo.com/" [2097154]= int(200) [2097166]= int(-1) [3145731]= float(0.486924) [3145732]= float(0.003692) [3145733]= float(0.005709) [3145734]= float(0.005714) [3145745]= float(0.149365) [3145747]= float(0.312743) [3145735]= float(0) [3145736]= float(28509) [3145737]= float(58549) [3145738]= float(0) [2097163]= int(1195) [2]= string(973) "GET / HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: cURL_ClientBase (PHP v/5.2.6-1+lenny4) Host: www.yahoo.com Accept: / Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, compress Referer: http://yahoo.com Cookie: B=e5iber15t7u05&b=3&s=ie; fpc_s=d=GGX6WCTIR29HWsjgLxFejKc_YJWxRqm3jYdEd6lu7W5ophpuAHBm6JGtNvhv97anG4VtaIMHQBPg3JAMOZGq59Lz_tRn_TFXgUT8T_at5HdCktVJLycy&v=2; fpt=d=nt1OT7HPe9wVIkHbMkpzQOgbP3.mQ3o1SPX7k5ztrFrWeeSWK5IgQooRY.8KtTeRMiaSEZ0kv3sO1MWtEsAzjVlRCDAZBoxqOs17v6PaZbPRqmDc92ivoMia.CqjufRs4_guOO4AyhRZ7_ml8rzxFrYeexpR2jLN0oPMyEWT0nbEf6Sdf._Bkh0HMfmI7KBnEx5uZBEEmV.wTfGRLG7zSd9sA4itOFv.r6AjP39CnogSn7NTJnqg_kEcKoiCM.lR5w_MqMc8IgWMBgSAZZgGEZpfmvxlQGnUzPwNh2pSpTe2wxFS3v1zPopDgoo2VsO3uzeyA3A_j7Hlk1P8T08DHbfr6ApDMUcr7d0QIt4pGYIxVV45XzfgpT7mgUdMei6VZrD9ozVQF0oqxrs1Ufri.XzPdB3NdQ--&v=1; fpc=d=sRPCfUfBTW96.RGiQn4hSkfi3p7WnPCAqYl5YoHecI7zjg7gH7PolscoPcq1Esm8dR.Rg1.AbQCpo2WBPXn1St96PpcjeCC.pj2.Upb3mKSRQkYPIVP1vQcL9nL7J8s9Z0VIXjiBFgSUcxyzDeUdP4us2YbVO3PbaVIwaIEfFsX3WI7YgiTbkrTGtwnFgoSYq6l8tnw-&v=2" [2097164]= int(1153) [2097165]= int(0) [3145743]= float(211) [3145744]= float(0) [1048594]= string(23) "text/html;charset=utf-8" } ["request_url:private"]= string(16) "http://yahoo.com" ["response_url:private"]= string(21) "http://www.yahoo.com/" ["status_code:private"]= int(200) ["cookies:private"]= array(0) { } ["request_headers"]= string(973) "GET / HTTP/1.0 User-Agent: cURL_ClientBase (PHP v/5.2.6-1+lenny4) Host: www.yahoo.com Accept: / Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate, compress Referer: http://yahoo.com Cookie: B=e5iber15t7u05&b=3&s=ie; fpc_s=d=GGX6WCTIR29HWsjgLxFejKc_YJWxRqm3jYdEd6lu7W5ophpuAHBm6JGtNvhv97anG4VtaIMHQBPg3JAMOZGq59Lz_tRn_TFXgUT8T_at5HdCktVJLycy&v=2; fpt=d=nt1OT7HPe9wVIkHbMkpzQOgbP3.mQ3o1SPX7k5ztrFrWeeSWK5IgQooRY.8KtTeRMiaSEZ0kv3sO1MWtEsAzjVlRCDAZBoxqOs17v6PaZbPRqmDc92ivoMia.CqjufRs4_guOO4AyhRZ7_ml8rzxFrYeexpR2jLN0oPMyEWT0nbEf6Sdf._Bkh0HMfmI7KBnEx5uZBEEmV.wTfGRLG7zSd9sA4itOFv.r6AjP39CnogSn7NTJnqg_kEcKoiCM.lR5w_MqMc8IgWMBgSAZZgGEZpfmvxlQGnUzPwNh2pSpTe2wxFS3v1zPopDgoo2VsO3uzeyA3A_j7Hlk1P8T08DHbfr6ApDMUcr7d0QIt4pGYIxVV45XzfgpT7mgUdMei6VZrD9ozVQF0oqxrs1Ufri.XzPdB3NdQ--&v=1; fpc=d=sRPCfUfBTW96.RGiQn4hSkfi3p7WnPCAqYl5YoHecI7zjg7gH7PolscoPcq1Esm8dR.Rg1.AbQCpo2WBPXn1St96PpcjeCC.pj2.Upb3mKSRQkYPIVP1vQcL9nL7J8s9Z0VIXjiBFgSUcxyzDeUdP4us2YbVO3PbaVIwaIEfFsX3WI7YgiTbkrTGtwnFgoSYq6l8tnw-&v=2" }

  • Rails time zone selector: intelligently selecting a default

    - by Tim Sullivan
When signing up for an account on one of my apps, we need to store the time zone is in. We're using the time zone selector, which is fine, but I'd like to set the default value to something that it likely the user's current time zone. Is there an easy way, either on the server or using JavaScript, to set the time zone selector to the time zone the user is currently in?

  • image not shown in dvi after latexing

    - by Tim
Hi, I include several images of eps format in latex. After latex command, there are some of the images missing in the dvi file. Not sure if it is related to the image size, most of the images missing have size around 83kB while those shown up have a size less than 40kB. After conversion from dvi to ps, the images are all back. Just wonder what is the reason causing the images missing in dvi file? Thanks and regards!

  • .NET: Best way to execute a lambda on UI thread after a delay?

    - by Scott Bussinger
I had a situation come up that required running a lambda expression on the UI thread after a delay. I thought of several ways to do this and finally settled on this approach Task.Factory.StartNew(() => Thread.Sleep(1000)) .ContinueWith((t) => textBlock.Text="Done",TaskScheduler.FromCurrentSynchronizationContext()); But I'm wondering if there's an easier way that I missed. Any suggestions for a shorter, simpler or easier technique? Assume .NET 4 is available.

  • Determine IP# of domain from client browser

    - by Tim W.
Greetings all, I would very much like to determine the IP# of a domain from client script. It's for use in a testing application to determine whether or not a certain domain is set to a QA address as opposed to the address live on the . The testing machine will have it's host file set to resolve a domain to the QA address. Pinging from the server won't help since the server is getting the public DNS address. Is this possible in JavaScript? Maybe a Flash could do the trick?

  • cell and array in Matlab

    - by Tim
Hi, I am a little confused about the usage of cell and array in Matlab. I would like to hear about your understandings. Here are my observations: (1). array can dynamically adjust its own memory to allow dynamic number of elements, while cell seems not act in the same way. a=[]; a=[a 1]; b={}; b={b 1}; (2). several elements can be retrieved from cell, while they seem not from array. a={'1' '2'}; figure, plot(...); hold on; plot(...) ; legend(a{1:2}); b=['1' '2']; figure, plot(...); hold on; plot(...) ; legend(b(1:2)); % b(1:2) is an array, not its elements, so it is wrong with legend. Are these correct? What are some other different usages between the cell and array? Thanks and regards!

  • Twitter @anywhere API problems in firefox only

    - by Brian Scott
I've implemented a simple example of the Twitter @anywhere api to display user hovercards. The example works great in Internet Explorer and Chrome. However, whenever I the page loads in Firefox I receive the following message in an alert window: To set up @anywhere, please provide a client ID Surely if the results are correct in Chrome and IE then everything must be setup correctly? Here is a simple code block which I've tested recreates the problem in Firefox only: <script src="http://platform.twitter.com/anywhere.js?id=WMg5kRMlIw807lRTsktnNQ&amp;v=1" type="text/javascript" > </script> <script type="text/javascript"> twttr.anywhere(onAnywhereLoad); function onAnywhereLoad(twitter) { twitter().hovercards(); }); </script>

  • Do I Own the Source Code? [closed]

    - by Tim Long
If I pay someone to write some software for me and our contract doesn't specify, do I own the rights to the source code, or does the company who wrote the software? Who does the intellectual property belong to in this situation? I'm specifically interested in the answer as it applies in the United Kingdom.

  • How can I progrommatically change the target framework from 4.0 to 3.5 of a project/solution?

    - by scott
    Edit 3: After more googling it looks like you can't have the TargetFrameworkMoniker property in a .NET 3.5 application. So I guess I should be asking a different question. How do I change the Target framework from 4.0 to 3.5? Unfortunately, I can only find stuff on how to go the other way. or better yet how do i progrommatically set the target framework version of a project to something other than 4.0? Original question: I just switched to vs2010. I have an application that uses .net 3.5. It loads plugins which are generated by a different app. The plugins are using .net 4 and there for cannot be loaded. I'm using EnvDTE.Project to create a project and set the settings. I can't find what setting needs to be set for this. Edit 1: I'm generating code for about 50 solutions. When I made the switch from vs2005 to vs2010 the projects in those solutions are defaulting to .NET Framework 4.0. So I need to set the .NET Framework to 3.5 when I am generating the code for these solutions. Edit 2: After a lot of googling I found this. so then I tried this: loProp = vsGetProperty("TargetFrameworkMoniker"); vsSetValue(loProp, ".NETFramework,Version=v3.5"); the definitions for those two methods are below. as far as I can tell they do the same this as project.Properties.Item("TargetFrameworkMoniker").Value = ".NETFramework,Version=v4.0,Profile=Client"; I start getting an Property Unavailable Exception later in the code. When I remove the new lines everything works except the projects target framework is still 4.0. The code generators target framework is 3.5 so I can't use the FrameworkName class like shown in the second example in that link. here is vsGetProperty protected Property vsGetProperty(string aProperty) { bool lbDone = false; int liCount = 0; Property loProp; while (!lbDone && liCount < pMaxRetries) { try { loProp = pProject.Properties.Item(aProperty); lbDone = true; return loProp; } catch (System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException loE) { liCount++; if ((uint)loE.ErrorCode == 0x80010001) { // RPC_E_CALL_REJECTED - sleep half sec then try again System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(pDelayBetweenRetry); } } } return null; } and vsSetValue protected void vsSetValue(Property aProperty, string aValue) { bool lbDone = false; int liCount = 0; while (!lbDone && liCount < pMaxRetries) { try { aProperty.Value = aValue; lbDone = true; } catch (System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException loE) { liCount++; if ((uint)loE.ErrorCode == 0x80010001) { // RPC_E_CALL_REJECTED - sleep half sec then try again System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(pDelayBetweenRetry); } } } }

  • How to Fix my jQuery code in IE?? Works in Firefox..

    - by scott jarvis
I am using jQuery to show/hide a div container (#pluginOptionsContainer), and load a page (./plugin_options.php) inside it with the required POST vars sent. What POST data is sent is based on the value of a select list (#pluginDD) and the click of a button (#pluginOptionsBtn)... It works fine in Firefox, but doesn't work in IE.. The '$("#pluginOptionsContainer").load()' request never seems to finish in IE - I only see the loading message forever... bind(), empty() and append() all seem to work fine in IE.. But not load().. Here is my code: // wait for the DOM to be loaded $(document).ready(function() { // hide the plugin options $('#pluginOptionsContainer').hide(); // This is the hack for IE if ($.browser.msie) { $("#pluginDD").click(function() { this.blur(); this.focus(); }); } // set the main function $(function() { // the button shows hides the plugin options page (and its container) $("#pluginOptionsBtn") .click(function() { // show the container of the plugin options page $('#pluginOptionsContainer').empty().append('<div style="text-align:center;width:99%;">Loading...</div>'); $('#pluginOptionsContainer').toggle(); }); // set the loading message if user changes selection with either the dropdown or button $("#pluginDD,#pluginOptionsBtn").bind('change', function() { $('#pluginOptionsContainer').empty().append('<div style="text-align:center;width:99%;">Loading...</div>'); }); // then update the page when the plugin is changed when EITHER the plugin button or dropdown or clicked or changed $("#pluginDD,#pluginOptionsBtn").bind('change click', function() { // set form fields as vars in js var pid = <?=$pid;?>; var cid = <?=$contentid;?>; var pDD = $("#pluginDD").val(); // add post vars (must use JSON) to be sent into the js var 'dataString' var dataString = {plugin_options: true, pageid: pid, contentid: cid, pluginDD: pDD }; // include the plugin option page inside the container, with the required values already added into the query string $("#pluginOptionsContainer").load("/admin/inc/edit/content/plugin_options.php#pluginTop", dataString); // add this to stop page refresh return false; }); // end submit function }); // end main function }); // on DOM load Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I hate IE!

  • django simple approach to multi-field search

    - by Scott Willman
    I have a simple address book app that I want to make searchable. The model would look something like: class Address(models.Model): address1 = models.CharField("Address Line 1", max_length=128) address2 = models.CharField("Address Line 2", max_length=128) city = models.CharField("City", max_length=128) state = models.CharField("State", max_length=24) zipCode = models.CharField("Zip Code", max_length=24) def __unicode__(self): return "%s %s, %s, %s, %s" % (self.address1, self.address2, self.city, self.state, self.zipCode) class Entry(models.Model): name = models.CharField("Official School Name", max_length=128) createdBy = models.ForeignKey(User) address = models.ForeignKey(Address, unique=True) def __unicode__(self): return "%s - %s, %s" % (self.name, self.address.city, self.address.state) I want the searching to be fairly loose, like: Bank of America Los Angeles 91345. It seems like I want a field that contains all of those elements into one that I can search, but that also seems redundant. I was hoping I could add a method to the Entry model like this: def _getSearchText(self): return "%s %s %s" % (self.name, self.address, self.mascot) searchText = property(_getSearchText) ...and search that as a field, but I suppose that's wishful thinking... How should I approach this using basic Django and SqLite (this is a learning exercise). Thank you!!

  • Is there a web site where I can paste a SQL Insert statement and have it break it out by column?

    - by Scott Whitlock
I've been working on an application that has no discernable data access layer, so all the SQL statements are just built up as strings and executed. I'm constantly confronted by very long INSERT statements where I'm trying to figure out what value in the VALUES list matches up with what column in the column name list. I was about to create a little helper application where I could paste in an INSERT statement and have it show me a list of values matched up with the column names, just for debugging, and I thought, "someone else has probably done this already." Does anyone know of a web site where I can just paste in an INSERT statement and have it show me a two column table with column names in the first column and values in the second column?

  • How do I make a hyperlink to a local executable?

    - by Scott Ferguson
We have an Intranet website, and a WPF windows executable installed on every workstation. How can we create a hyperlink on the intranet website that will launch the locally installed executable? Ideally we want the launch to be seamless. Is there a way of setting the browsers trust settings so that it won't display a security warning dialog for this executable? We have full admin capabilities on each workstation, and each user only uses Internet Explorer. We also know the correct local path for the exe.

  • Is there a best practice for concatenating MP3 Files, adjusting sample rates to match, while preserving original files?

    - by Scott
Hello overflow community! Does anyone know if there is a "best practice" to concatenate mp3 files to create new files, while preserving the original files? I am working on a CentOS Linux machine, in command line. I will eventually call the command line from a PHP script. I have been doing research and I have come up with a process that I think could work. It combines general advice from different forums, blogs, and sources like this one. So here I go: Create a temporary folder Loop through files to create a new, converted copy, of file into a "raw" format (which one, I don't know. I didn't know "raw" files existed before too long ago. I could use some suggestions on this) Store the path to the temporary files, in the temporary folder, and then loop through the files to concatenate them and then put the new merged file the final "processed directory" Delete the contents of the temporary file with the temporary raw files inside. Convert the final file from "raw" to mp3 and enjoy the finished result I'm thinking that this course of action might be best because I can't necessarily control the quality of the original "source" mp3s. The only other option I could think of would be to create a script that would perform a similar process upon files being added to the system leaving only the files with the "proper" format and removing the original "erroneous" file. Hopefully you can see that I have put some thought into this and that I'm trying to leverage the collective knowledge of this community to choose the best direction. Perhaps there is a better path that I could take? By concatenate, I mean to join together in sequence to create a new audio file from the "concatenated files."

  • Code coverage tools that can be used on .NET 4.0 assemblies

We use Xunit.net as our unit test framework for use on our .NET4 assemblies. We have it integrated into our TFS 2010 team builds quite successfully. I now want to add code coverage to the nightly builds as well. Does anyone have a list of coverage tools that work on 4.0 assemblies and could be integrated into our automated builds?

  • How do I serialise a graph in Java without getting StackOverflowException?

    - by Tim Cooper
I have a graph structure in java, ("graph" as in "edges and nodes") and I'm attempting to serialise it. However, I get "StackOverflowException", despite significantly increasing the JVM stack size. I did some googling, and apparently this is a well known limitation of java serialisation: that it doesn't work for deeply nested object graphs such as long linked lists - it uses a stack record for each link in the chain, and it doesn't do anything clever such as a breadth-first traversal, and therefore you very quickly get a stack overflow. The recommended solution is to customise the serialisation code by overriding readObject() and writeObject(), however this seems a little complex to me. (It may or may not be relevant, but I'm storing a bunch of fields on each edge in the graph so I have a class JuNode which contains a member ArrayList<JuEdge> links;, i.e. there are 2 classes involved, rather than plain object references from one node to another. It shouldn't matter for the purposes of the question). My question is threefold: (a) why don't the implementors of Java rectify this limitation or are they already working on it? (I can't believe I'm the first person to ever want to serialise a graph in java) (b) is there a better way? Is there some drop-in alternative to the default serialisation classes that does it in a cleverer way? (c) if my best option is to get my hands dirty with low-level code, does someone have an example of graph serialisation java source-code that can use to learn how to do it?
