  I keep getting "Data Execution Prevention" error in Windows Live Messenger. I have noticed that this is happening usually when I leave computer to get coffee, and screensaver comes up, WLM breaks. Is there any way to prevent this error from happening? I see I can turn off this "Data Execution Prevention", but is that safe, since I know that WLM is under heavy attacks from spammers/hackers?   sometimes an element wont open, of I click on it in the start menu in the search results. This occurs most when searching for emails. I use outlook 2007 on windows 7 x64. If I search in outlook for that mail I can simply double-click it an it opens.

  I'm using Windows 7 RC and for some reason, the date won't show at all on my system tray. It used to for a while, but one day it just stopped (I didn't even notice it until someone pointed it out). So I've been trying to fix it, by customizing the format of the date, resetting to defaults, etc... But nothing works, it still doesn't show. The time appears fine.

• Clear Type problem in Windows 7

  I try to tune ClearType in Windows 7 x64 using the ClearType Text Tuner. I can choose whatever options I want on the first 3 pages, but on the last page, whatever I choose is reverted as soon as I click finish. Next time I run the tuner I can see that the second option is selected, not the option that I wanted (the last one). Has anybody else found this odd behavior?

• Windows running service as "system" when log on as is "user"

  I have an apache service that is running as "SYSTEM", however the log on as settings are configured to run as my user account. The windows task manager claims that I am the user name associated with the service when it's running, however I had the apache service call a python script which indicates that the user is "SYSTEM. Any ideas on how to fix this? I've reinstalled 3 times and once with a newer version.

  My work PC has restrictions that stop me from adding programs to the start menu so when I try to install Python using the Python 2.6.5 Windows installer it can't complete as it tries to add a shortcut to my start menu. Is there a way around this? I.e another way of installing without the need for a shortcut? I've tried Python portable but as it doesn't add anything to the registry it can't be detected.

  Some time back I changed the default libraries icon on Taskbar to "Computer" icon. I had to format the PC and now I looks like the I forgot the procedure to change the icon.
