  • How many results were returned?

    - by Pastor Bones
    I'm performing a query on a worksheet. I want to update the row if it exists or insert it if it doesn't. How can you check if a result was returned or not? $query = new Zend_Gdata_Spreadsheets_ListQuery(); $query->setSpreadsheetKey($this->currKey); $query->setWorksheetId($this->currWkshtId); $query->setSpreadsheetQuery('cid = ' . $data['cid']); $listFeed = $this->gdClient->getListFeed($query); // This does not work! if(empty($listFeed)){ echo 'No results found!'; }

  • Interview questions about ASP.NET Web services.

    - by Jalpesh P. Vadgama
    I have seen there are lots of myth’s about asp.net web services in fresher level asp.net developers. So I decided to write a blog post about asp.net web services interview questions. Because I think this is the best way to reach fresher asp.net developers. Followings are few questions about asp.net web services. 1) What is asp.net web services? Ans: Web services are used to support http requests that formatted using xml,http and SOAP syntax. They interact with through standards xml messages through Soap. They are used to support interoperability. It has .asmx extension and .NET framework contains http handlers for web services to support http requested directly. 2) What kind of data can be returned web services web methods? Ans: It supports all the primitive data types and custom data types that can be encoded and serialized by xml. You can find more information about that from the following link. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb552900.aspx 3) Is web services are only written in asp.net? Ans: No, It can be written by Java and PHP languages also. 4) Explain web method attributes in web services Ans: Web method attributes are added to a public class method to indicate that this method is exposed as a part of XML web services. You can have multiple web methods in a class. But it should be having public attributes as it will be exposed as xml web service part. You can find more information about web method attributes from following link. http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/byxd99hx(v=vs.71).aspx 5) What is SOA? Ans: SOA stands for “Services Oriented Architecture”. It is kind of service oriented architecture used to support different kind of computing platforms and applications. Web services in asp.net are one of the technologies that supports that kind of architecture.  You can call asp.net web services from any computing platforms and applications. 6) What is SOAP,WDSL and UDDI? Ans: SOAP stands “Simple Object Access protocol”. Web services will be interact with SOAP messages written in XML. SOAP is sometimes referred as “data wrapper” or “data envelope”.Its contains different xml tag that creates a whole SOAP message.  WSDL stand for “Web services Description Language”.  It is an xml document which is written according to standard specified by W3c. It is a kind of manual or document that describes how we can use and consume web service. Web services development software processes the WSDL document and generates SOAP messages that are needed for specific web service. UDDI stand for “Universal Discovery, Description and Integration”. Its is used for web services registries. You can find addresses of web services from UDDI.

  • Importing a WebService:

    - by Pierre
    Hi all, I'm trying to import the following web service: http://www.biomart.org/biomart/martwsdl Using curl for the service getResistry() : everything is OK: curl --header 'Content-Type: text/xml' --data '<?xml version="1.0"?><soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:mar="http://www.biomart.org:80/MartServiceSoap"> <soapenv:Header/> <soapenv:Body> <mar:getRegistry/> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope>' http://www.biomart.org:80/biomart/martsoap it returns: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.o rg/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/ envelope/" soap:encodingStyle="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/"> <soap:Body> <getRegistryResponse xmlns="http://www.biomart.org:80/MartServiceSoap"> <mart> <name xsi:type="xsd:string">ensembl</name> <displayName xsi:type="xsd:string">ENSEMBL GENES 57 (SANGER UK)</displayName> <database xsi:type="xsd:string">ensembl_mart_57</database> (...) OK. But when this service is generated using CXF/wsdl2java ( or even wsimport) mkdir src wsdl2java -keep -d src -client "http://www.biomart.org/biomart/martwsdl" javac -g -d src -sourcepath src src/org/biomart/_80/martservicesoap/MartServiceSoap_BioMartSoapPort_Client.java java -cp src org.biomart._80.martservicesoap.MartServiceSoap_BioMartSoapPort_Client the generated client returns an empty list for getRegistry(): Invoking getRegistry... getRegistry.result=[] why ? what should I do, to make this code work ? Many thanks Pierre

  • How to add custom header to ASMX web service call using jquery?

    - by Mike
    I have a web service with the following contract: POST /Service/service.asmx HTTP/1.1 Host: xxx.xxx.xxx Content-Type: text/xml; charset=utf-8 Content-Length: length SOAPAction: "xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/Method" <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <soap:Envelope xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <soap:Header> <Request xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/"> <transactiontype>string</transactiontype> <username>string</username> <password>string</password> </Request> </soap:Header> <soap:Body> <Method xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/"> <xml>xml</xml> </Method> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> And I am trying to call the service using jquery. This is my code: $.ajax({ url: serverUrl + 'Method', type: "POST", dataType: "xml", data: { xml: "xml" }, beforeSend: function (req) { req.setRequestHeader('Header', '<Request xmlns="xxx.xxx.xxx/Service/">' +'<transactiontype>4</transactiontype>' +'<agencyName>name</agencyName>' +'<username>user</username>' +'<password>pass</password>' +'</Request>'); }, success: function (data) { alert(data.text); }, error: function (request, status, errorThrown) { alert(status); } }); However, the header content is not passed to the web service? How would I go about passing the header credentials to my web service call?

  • axis2 web service behave differently when tested with web service client or with local test class

    - by Stefano
    Hello I need to update a facade to some web service proxy classes to a third party web service, and expose them as a service. This for two reason : to maintain the same interface for all application that need to use the system : actually its migrating and there are a few differences in the third party ws (method names); and to expose a simplified interface. The third party has provided me with a manual and some pregenerated proxy classes to their service (the java file says generated with axis2 1,4) . I've used netbeans 6.8 and the axis2 plugin to create an axis2 service . This service contains the proxy classes and the facade class which instantiate the web service proxy and calls its method; the facade class is exposed as service. I've used axis2 1.4 (at beginnig and later 1.5 ) and tomcat 6.0. The first test i did was to call the facede methods from inside the project itself and it worked. Then i've created a new project with a jax-ws web service client to call my class deployed on axis2. At this point has happened two strange thing : In the axis2 services page has appeared the third party proxy class as if it were a new service (if i try to get the wsdl axis raises an error ). eg. the proxy interface is named WebServiceAPI (_stub is the concrete class) and , after the first call to my service , i find a new "WebServicesAPI1272968932531_1" service inside axis . The call obvoiusly fail i've began to sniff soap messages with wireshark and i've found they differs when using proxy classes direclty from my facade test class by the messages created after being deployed on axis. i've noticed they differs for the presence of the soap header in the failing message. any help would be greatly appreciated : maybe i messed up something, there might be some incompatibilities or version mistakes? below i've added the signature of the third party proxy, its impementation and the different soap messages: /* * WebServicesAPI.java * This file was auto-generated from WSDL * by the Apache Axis2 version: 1.4 Built on : Apr 26, 2008 (06:24:30 EDT) */ package com.ibm.eci.wsapi; • Convert XML namespace prefixes with C#?

    - by jrista
    I have run into an exasperating problem getting a Java service client to communicate successfully with a WCF service. I have overcome many hurdles, and I believe that this is my last one. The problem boils down to how Java Axis + WSS4J seem to handle xml namespaces. The Java platform seem to be very rigid in what they expect for xml namespace prefixes, and as such, do not understand the WCF reply messages. My problem in a nutshell is as follows. I have an xml response similar to the following from my WCF service: <s:Envelope xmlns:s="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing" xmlns:u="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"> <s:Header> <a:Action s:mustUnderstand="1" u:Id="_3">http://tempuri.org/IProcessor/DoProcessingResponse</a:Action> <h:CorrelationID xmlns:h="http://tempuri.org/">1234</h:CorrelationID> <a:RelatesTo u:Id="_4">uuid:40f800a0-9613-4f4a-96c5-b9fd98085deb</a:RelatesTo> <o:Security s:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:o="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"> <!-- WS-Security header stuff --> </o:Security> </s:Header> <s:Body u:Id="_1"> <e:EncryptedData Id="_2" Type="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#Content" xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"> <e:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#aes128-cbc"/> <e:CipherData> <e:CipherValue>NfA6XunmyLlT2ucA+5QneoawHm+imcaCltDAJC1mRZOSxoB6YGpDLY1FyVykPbPGDoFGUESLsmvvbD62sNnRrgE+AuKPo+1CD3DF4LfurRcEv9A50ba9V+ViqlrhydhK</e:CipherValue> </e:CipherData> </e:EncryptedData> </s:Body> </s:Envelope> This response uses simple one-character namespace prefixes for most things, such as 's' for SOAP Envelope, 'a' for WS-Addressing, 'o' for 'WS-Security', etc. The Java client, namely WSS4J, seems to expect the following: <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:wsa="http://www.w3.org/2005/08/addressing" xmlns:wsu="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-utility-1.0.xsd"> <soap:Header> <wsa:Action soap:mustUnderstand="1" wsu:Id="_3">http://tempuri.org/IProcessor/DoProcessingResponse</wsa:Action> <h:CorrelationID xmlns:h="http://tempuri.org/">1234</h:CorrelationID> <wsa:RelatesTo wsu:Id="_4">uuid:40f800a0-9613-4f4a-96c5-b9fd98085deb</a:RelatesTo> <wsse:Security soap:mustUnderstand="1" xmlns:wsse="http://docs.oasis-open.org/wss/2004/01/oasis-200401-wss-wssecurity-secext-1.0.xsd"> <!-- WS-Security header stuff --> </wsse:Security> </soap:Header> <soap:Body u:Id="_1"> <xenc:EncryptedData Id="_2" Type="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#Content" xmlns:xenc="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#"> <xenc:EncryptionMethod Algorithm="http://www.w3.org/2001/04/xmlenc#aes128-cbc"/> <xenc:CipherData> <xenc:CipherValue>NfA6XunmyLlT2ucA+5QneoawHm+imcaCltDAJC1mRZOSxoB6YGpDLY1FyVykPbPGDoFGUESLsmvvbD62sNnRrgE+AuKPo+1CD3DF4LfurRcEv9A50ba9V+ViqlrhydhK</xenc:CipherValue> </xenc:CipherData> </xenc:EncryptedData> </soap:Body> </soap:Envelope> Upon receipt of my response message, the Java client and WSS4J seem to want to look up elements by their own internal xml aliases, such as 'wsa' for WS-Addressing, and 'wsse' for WS-Security Extensions. Since neither of those namespaces are present in the actual response xml, exceptions are thrown. I am wondering if there is any simple way to transform an xml document from one set of namespaces to another set using C#, .NET, and the System.Xml namespace. I've poked around with XmlNamespaceManager a bit, but it does not seem to fully support what I need...or at least, I have been unable to find any really useful examples, and am not fully sure how it works. I am trying to avoid having to write some heavy-duty process to handle this manually myself, as I do not want to drastically impact the performance of our services when called by a Java Axis/WSS4J client.

  • How to parse an XML string in TDI

    - by ongle
    I am new to TDI. I have a TDI assembly line that calls a web service (ibmdi.InvokeSoapWS) which returns the result as a string in the work attribute 'xmlString'. I then have an AttributeMap that attempts to parse the xml and extract a value (the node it seeks is a few nodes deep). var parser = system.getParser('ibmdi.SOAP'); var xmlString = work.getString('xmlString'); var entity = parser.parseRequest(xmlString); task.dump(entity); The trouble is, the parsed object does not contain an accurate representation of the XML. It contains only two attributes, the first is correctly the first node following the soap body (e.g., ns0:SomeNodeReply), the second being a node inside the first (e.g., ns0:DetailCount). And as far as I can determine, both attributes are just strings so I cannot recurse into the object graph. Below is a sample soap reply: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"> <SOAP-ENV:Body> <ns0:SomeNodeReply xmlns:ns0="http://xmlns.example.com/unique/default/namespace/1136581686664"> <ns0:Status> <ns0:StatusCD>000</ns0:StatusCD> <ns0:StatusDesc /> </ns0:Status> <ns0:DetailCount>1</ns0:DetailCount> <ns0:SomeDetail> <ns0:CodeA>Foo</ns0:CodeA> <ns0:CodeB>Bar</ns0:CodeB> </ns0:SomeDetail> </ns0:SomeNodeReply> </SOAP-ENV:Body> </SOAP-ENV:Envelope> And below is a sample dump of the parsed string: 19:03:23 CTGDIS003I *** Start dumping Entry 19:03:23 Operation: generic 19:03:23 Entry attributes: 19:03:23 SOAP_CALL (replace): 'ns0:SomeNodeReply' 19:03:23 ns0:DetailCount(replace): '1' 19:03:23 CTGDIS004I *** Finished dumping Entry All I really need to do is be able to parse out a value that may or may not be there, depending on the value of another node (e.g., DetailCount == 1, get CodeA otherwise return empty string). I am open to changing anything about how this works if I can extract the data into the work Entry.

  • How to convert a .NET WebService-Method-Result (Soap) into its original datatype?

    - by Marc
    Hello everyone. I have two "identical" webservices (Soap) on two different servers. Don't ask why :-) WebService-1 decides if it handels the request itself or if it passes the request to WebService-2. If so, the response of WebService-2 should directly be returned from WebService-1. The response datatype is complex and self defined. With simple datatypes like 'int or 'string' there would be no problem. The response of WebService-2 is a serialized object (I think it is called "stubs") and theredore it is not possibel to pass this object through as the response of WebService-1 because the type of the objects doesn't match. Is there a simple way to convert the serialised datatype into its original type without buiding a complex converter?

  • Apache Axis web service clients vs plain SOAP requests.

    - by Andy Pryor
    I'm looking for the best way to consume a Java web service that returns rather large and complex objects. I am currently using Apache Axis clients generated from the wsdl, (using eclipse "generate web service client" tool). We have concerns about performance of this. The service proxy objects are not thread safe, and they are rather heavy to instantiate, 2-3 MB on the JVM. The other alternative is making HTTP connections and building a String SOAP requests. I would have to interpret the response, and build objects from the XML. Would this be a better alternative to the heavy axis objects? I searched for good reading on this, if any one had any links I would greatly appreciate it.

  • How To - Securing a JAX-WS with OWSM Message Protection Policy in JDeveloper - 11g

    - by Prakash Yamuna
    As promised in this post, here is a How-To that describes how to secure a simple HelloWorld JAX-WS with OWSM message protection policy and test it with SOAP UI. The How-To reuses the picture I posted earlier about the relationship and interplay b/w Keystore, Credential store, jps-config.xml ,etc. One of the other more frequent requests I hear from folks within Oracle and customers is how to test OWSM with SOAP UI. SOAP UI in general works very well as testing tool for web services secure with wss10 policies.

  • filtering dates in a data view webpart when using webservices datasource

    - by Patrick Olurotimi Ige
    I was working on a data view web part recently and i had  to filter the data based on dates.Since the data source was web services i couldn't use  the Offset which i blogged about earlier.When using web services to pull data in sharepoint designer you would have to use xpath.So for example this is the soap that populates the rows<xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/ddw1:GetListItemsResponse/ddw1:GetListItemsResult/ddw1:listitems/rs:data/z:row/>But you would need to add some predicate [] and filter the date nodes.So you can do something like this (marked in red)<xsl:variable name="Rows" select="/soap:Envelope/soap:Body/ddw1:GetListItemsResponse/ddw1:GetListItemsResult/ddw1:listitems/rs:data/z:row[ddwrt:FormatDateTime(string(@ows_Created),1033,'yyyyMMdd') &gt;= ddwrt:FormatDateTime(string(substring-after($fd,'#')),1033,'yyyyMMdd')]"/>For the filtering to work you need to have the date formatted  above as yyyyMMdd.One more thing you must have noticed is the $fd variable.This variable is created by me creating a calculated column in the list so something like this [Created]-2So basically that the xpath is doing is get me data only when the Created date  is greater than or equal to the Created date -2 which is 2 date less than the created date.Also not that when using web services in sharepoint designer and try to use the default filtering you won't get to see greater tha or less than in the option list comparison.:(Hope this helps.

With one oddity, after several debugging sessions the debugger would refuse to connect. On every platform, I would end having to reboot to restore debugging, which would then work correctly for quite some time. I am sure I will discover that some process is hanging and there is a less intrusive way to clear the issue, but for now rebooting always works. In a future post I will go over how exactly I set my environment up, for now I have decided to stay with OS X. By the way, I did NOT use MAMP or the Zend Server, I stuck with PHP compiled and built from source, as well as Apache and MySQL installed locally. I use Homebrew as a package manager for OS X. I tried PORT but did not like the fact I had to sudo all the time to use it, and it installed things in /opt which I was not used to. Homebrew does sandbox the apps but it is nice enough to symlink them to their "normal" locations usually in /usr/local.

  • nsxmlparser not solving &apos;

    Hi! Im using NSXMLParser to dissect a xml package, I'm receiving &apos inside the package text. I have the following defined for the xmlParser: [xmlParser setShouldResolveExternalEntities: YES]; The following method is never called - (void)parser:(NSXMLParser *)parser foundExternalEntityDeclarationWithName:(NSString *)entityName publicID:(NSString *)publicID systemID:(NSString *)systemID The text in the field before the &apos is not considered by the parser.
