    Hi, I want to generate some test data so for each row in a table I want to insert 10 random rows in another, see below: INSERT INTO CarFeatures (carID, featureID) SELECT C.ID, F.ID FROM dbo.Cars AS C OUTER APPLY ( SELECT TOP 10 ID FROM dbo.Features ORDER BY NEWID() ) AS F Only trouble is this returns the same values for each row. How do I order them randomly?

I have written a function in a Controller for checking data input, and the URL is like this: http://www.mywebsite.com/controllers/action/avariable I was trying to pass the value in a Input TextBox field using the JQuery Ajax to the URL above,but I don't know why it is not working in passing a variable to the Controller's action.     Entity Framework currently supports table valued functions and custom functions defined in the SSDL, but I can't find any example of it being used as a criteria, in the where clause. Example: var query = this.db.People; query = query.Where(p = FullText.ContainsInName(p.Id, "George")); In this example, ContainsInName is my custom function that I want to be executed in the where clause of the query. Is it supported?

  • Polymorphic association inserts 0 instead of raising error when column is misconfigured as Integer

    Here's one that stumped me for a while, though in retrospect it should have been obvious. I was getting the error message NoMethodError: undefined method `constantize' for 0:Fixnum when accessing a model through a polymorphic association. Turns out the table on the belongs_to side of the association had an integer type column instead of a string. Easily fixed, but it seems like Rails ought to raise an error in this situation -- instead it happily adds the row with 0 in the type column.

My doubt is if I create a trigger specifying after insert, then the trigger will get activated for every insert after, which I do not want to happen. Also, going forward, I would like a new guid added to the field on the insert of a new record. What is the best way to do this? The field is not the primary key, which is an auto-incrementing integer.

    I have a table view and want to allow rearranging of all cells, however there are certain cells that i do not want to be allowed to be deleted. when the UiTableView is put into deletion mode i do not want the red '-' button to appear on the left hand side, and do not want the swipe gesture to bring up the Delete button of these cells but want it to happen for the others. Is there a way to fix the position of the background image and just have the table scroll over the top of it?
