  • Backing up my xcode projects

    - by thelearner
What is the best way of ensuring my xcode projects are backed up. I am new to Mac and I see there is a timemachine programme, but isn't that for all files? I just want to make sure my xcode files are backed up on a network drive because this is for work not pleasure. The rest of team uses TFS and CVS etc.

  • MediaWiki alternatives for small business?

    - by Jakobud
Are there any good alternative wiki's to MediaWiki out there for a small business? Mostly we are just wanting to use it for documentation. MediaWiki is a fine (and slightly outdated) piece of software, but it doesn't even officially support basic things like controlling who has access to what page/article, which is an important feature for us.

I want to get some suggestion for a Customizable/Opensource Booking Engine for Hotels That you've used or had coded them. The booking engine I'm looking for is the one you can add and customize their fields (address, rates, and other stuffs). Also I can easily integrate it to my existing site. I was looking at CultBooking but I've been having hard time understanding their interface and documentation. Thanks in advance!

  • Restore dpm 2010 protection groups from partitions

    - by Dragouf
Hello, I have Data protection manager (DPM) 2010. I did a backup of my system which has been saved into different partitions. The computer running DPM crashed and is not allowing me to restore the backup. However, i still have all the backups as partitions. How can I restore the multiple protection groups from the physical existing partitions? I have been researching the msdn documentation for a solution, but no luck so far. Thanks for your help

  • How to assign an user account to a client machine in Windows Small Business Server 2003

    - by videador
How to assign an user account to a client machine in Windows Small Business Server 2003. I read here how to do that in 2011 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc527565.aspx) but I can't find the documentation in 2003. I've examine the properties in the client computer list in the admin server tools, and also in the users list, but I don't see any tab for machine or user assignation. Thank you.

  • How do I create a bridged virtual network for libvirt+KVM+ubuntu-server the easy way?

    - by Arthur Ulfeldt
I see lots of documentation on how to manually set up a network bridge and then manually add vm's tun devices to these bridges and then write a shell script that glues it all together. lots of work, very manual, and not impressive. On the other hand if you want to use NAT to KVM+libvirt VMs to the network you just click the new network button in the virt-manager gui and relax. Am I missing "the easy way" of causing a VM to share the physical network with the host?

  • Nagios simple dashboard

    - by Thomas
I am looking for a dead simple dashboard for Nagios so our IT team can view the status of our services. In an old version of what's up gold, it was a nice dashboard with different rectangular shape being red, yellow or green depending on the status of the service and could be display easily on a screen. Is there some copycat dashboard for nagios ? any better recommendation ? I want something you can see from your desk 15meters away: red or green, no need for details.

  • Can you please explain substitution in RewriteRule

    - by Scott
I have the following statements in an .htaccess file RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^myOldDomain\.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ https://myNewDomaink.com/$1 [R=301,L] It works fine. I basically found some sample code and modified it to my specific purpose. What I don't quite understand is: Why does $1 refer to the the portion of the supplied url after the hostname - where is the documentation for this? There is no backreference in the RewriteCond.

  • Apache2 and logrotate: delaycompress needed?

    - by j0nes
Hello, I am currently looking at the file size of my Apache logs as they became huge. In my logrotate conf, I have delaycompress enabled. Does Apache really need this (as the logrotate documentation says that some programs still write in the old file) or is it safe to disable delaycompress? Best regards, Jonas

  • What presentation software should I use for a five minute talk.

    - by Chas. Owens
I am giving a lightning talk shortly and need to put together some slides. It is a technical talk about Perl documentation. I will be using a OS X machine to run the presentation software. I would like something that is minimalistic easy to publish to the web simple to control (forward and back should do it, but hotkey access to individual slides would be nice) simple to create slides for (preferably purely text based and doesn't require much in the way of markup)

  • should I put my multi-device btrfs filesystem on disk partitions or raw devices?

    - by Glyph
If I'm going to create a multi-device btrfs filesystem. The official recommendation from the documentation apppears to be to create it on raw devices; i.e. /dev/sdb, /dev/sdc, etc, but this is not explained. Are there any advantages to creating a partition table on these devices first, either GPT or MBR, and then creating the filesystem on /dev/sdb1, /dev/sdc1 et cetera? Does feeding btrfs whole devices have some particular advantage, or are these basically equivalent?

  • How to make a JBoss service to handle Protocol Buffers directly?

    - by mlaverd
Hello everyone, I'm interested in building a JBoss service. Because I'm reusing some existing code, the service must be able to talk SSL/TLS and Protocol Buffers. The documentation I see on the JBoss wiki makes it look like services have their transport and data interpretation handled by JBoss itself. Is it really the case? How could I implement this requirement?

  • Toshiba laptop won't connect to D-link router

    - by user3314725
This is Team 4786 Nicolet Fear FIRST FRC robotics, our problem is we cant get our D-Link (DAP-1522) to connect to our Toshiba (TECRA R950) laptop wireless. It has connected before in the past and we don't know why it is not working anymore. The D-links still function correctly and we think our problem lies within the Toshiba. EDIT:The Toshiba connects to the school Wifi, and other things (small FRC drive station) connect to the D-link, but they won't connect to each other.

  • Making Puppet manifests/modules available to a wide audience

    - by Kyle Smith
Our team rolled puppet out to our systems over the last six months. We're managing all sorts of resources, and some of them have sensitive data (database passwords for automated backups, license keys for proprietary software, etc.). Other teams want to get involved in the development of (or at least be able to see) our modules and manifests. What have other people done to continue to have secure data moving through Puppet, while sharing the modules and manifests with a larger audience?

  • Can I chain authentication methods in Apache?

    - by jldugger
I've got an existing SVN system that we're migrating away from SVN AuthUserFile (a flat file format) to LDAP authentication. In so doing, we'd like to establish a transitional phase where both LDAP and AuthUserFile work. Does Apache support fall through authentication mechanisms? I'm reading the documentation and it's still not clear either way.

  • Virtual Private Hosting DNS configuration

    - by Ciel
I did a great deal of reading here before posting this because I didn't want to post a duplicate - but I'm on a bit of a deadline and getting frustrated, so here goes... I very, very, very sincerely apologize if this is long winded or hard to read. Please - please just ask for any information or clarification and I will give it as quickly as I possibly can. This has become very frustrating to me and this is the last place I know to turn. I have no experience with setting up DNS, no experience with nameservers, and no peers to go to for help. So this is kind of my last ditch effort. The task of setting up a private server has, through circumstances beyond my control, fallen into my lap. I own a domain (hereafter referred to as yyy.com) and have always used shared hosting - I buy a package and just point it to the domain nameservers they give me. It's always been simple. yyy.com is registered with network solutions Now I have purchased a Virtual Private Hosting package from GoDaddy.com - and it comes with Plesk 11. I have no earthly idea how to begin to get the right nameserver for yyy.com. I have gone through the instructions and have wound up exceedingly frustrated. I have 2 IP addresses from GoDaddy for the server. This is what I have so far, and I cannot tell if it is working (Since propogation takes so long, it is extremely hard to test for me) IP 1 : XX.XX.XX.XX IP 2 : YY.YY.YY.YY (obviously hidden for privacy) Now after going through the documentation setup and waiting a few days, this is the setup I have - and so far it does not appear to be working. Host Record type Value XX.XX.XX.XX / 24 PTR yyy.com. yyy.com. NS ns1.yyy.com. yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX yyy.com. MX (10) mail.yyy.com. ftp.yyy.com. CNAME yyy.com. ipv4.yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX mail.yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX mssql.yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX ns1.yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX ns2.yyy.com. A YY.YY.YY.YY webmail.yyy.com. A XX.XX.XX.XX www.yyy.com. CNAME yyy.com. yyy.com is pointing to both ns1.yyy.com and ns2.yyy.com Can anyone give me some assistance here? This is a learning experience for me and days of documentation have left me very confused.

  • Rails Hosting - Is RailsPlayground.com a Good Host?

    - by stringo0
My team is currently looking into hosting for RoR apps, and we're considering RailsPlayground, Linode and SliceHost. We haven't found anyone recommending rails playground, and web of trust seems to caution against it - http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/railsplayground.com I like the fact that they give you a sourcerepo account for free to host and track git repos, etc. The Questions: Is there any reason not to go with RailsPlayground? Have you had any negative experiences with RailsPlayground? (Feel free to share positives as well) Thanks!

  • NetApp and Hyper-V 2012 best practice/whitepapers?

    - by grimstoner
We've recently acquired a NetApp/Cisco UCS solution, and I'd like to gather some background knowledge as to the best practices when setting up Hyper-V 2012 on such a solution. There is an upcoming seminar (in the Netherlands, http://www.realdolmen.com/nl/MSHyper-v-2012_NetApp), but it's in Dutch, and a couple of weeks away... Does anyone have some whitepapers/documentation about such a setup, or hasn't it been done before?
