    On Windows Server 2008 R2, when I run the following command I am getting the 1920. I've tried pretty much everything I am aware of and I can't figure out what causes the error.     Hi all, whenever i have an unclean shutdown, which is often due to power failure most of the time i get problems with amavis starting up. The error amavisd Net server pid_file already exists for running process comes when i start it under debug mode, so i always have to delete the amavisd.pid and amavisd.lock files manually before it starts. Is there a way i can stop this from happening or get a way to delete the files during reboot in the case of an unclean shutdown. Thanks

I had a look around and couldn't find much out about this other than the fact i read somewhere that this shouldnt be expected in usual MySQL activity. Any ideas what this could mean?     I am running Status.Net 1.0.1 on my webhosting service. When I subscribe to a remote OStatus account, the avatar is neither displayed nor stored in my avatar/ directory. The INSTALLATION file suggests setting the avatar/, background/ and files/ directories to webserver writeable, but this does not help. Has anybody gotten this to work or could anyone point me in the right direction for a solution?

    I just recently upgraded a VS2008/.NET 3.5 SP1 project to VS2010 and .NET 4. I have a post-build event which calls SGEN to generate the XmlSerializers assembly. Whenever I try to run it I get the following error.     When I run my Unit Tests, all tests pass, but instead of "Test run succeeded" or whatever the success message is, I get "Test run error" in the little bar that tells me how many of my tests pass, even though all my tests passed. When i click the text, I'm taken to a page that tells me the following two things happened: Warning: conflict during test run deployment: deployment item '[...]\Booking.Web.dll' directly or indirectly referenced by the test container [...]\Booking.Web.Tests.dll cannot be deployed to 'Booking.Web.dll' because otherwise the file '[...]\Booking.Web.dll' would override deployment item '[...]\Booking.Web.dll' directly or indirectly referenced by '[...]\Booking.Web.Tests.dll' Error: Cannot initialize the ASP.NET project 'Booking.Web' Exception was thrown: The website could not be configured correctly; getting ASP.NET proccess information failed.   • Instantiate an .aspx that is an embedded resource of an assembly

    I have an ASP.NET (MVC) application in which I would like to load WebForms .aspx files that are embedded as resources in 3rd party assemblies. The reason I want to do this is to make a sort of "plug-in" system where a .dll file can be dropped in a folder and then picked up at runtime to provide additional functionality to the base application. I've gotten the plugin system to work (I'm using MEF) with plugins written in ASP.NET MVC (Views and Controllers), but for plain old ASP.NET (Pages), I've got myself into a bit of a problem. For the execution of the embedded .aspx file (which, in the usual WebForm way Inherits="My.BasePage") I've created a custom VirtualPathProvider, ResourceFile ControllerFactory and PageController. Within the PageController I've overridden the Execute(RequestContext) method and within it I'm trying to compile the .aspx with BuildManager.CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath(virtualPath, type). When doing this, I get the error message "Could not load type 'My.BasePage'", even though I'm giving the BuildManager the System.Type of My.BasePage in the call to CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath. I seem to be stuck at this point. I've tried to Server.Transfer() to the custom VirtualPathProvider handled URL to the same .aspx file, but that fails with the same error message. How can I help BuildManager find out where My.BasePage is defined and how come the Type requiredBaseType parameter of CreateInstanceFromVirtualPath seems to be ignored? I've tried to call BuildManager.AddReferencedAssembly(), but that only fails with "This method can only be called during the application's pre-start initialization stage". MSDN says: "The method must be called during the Application_PreStartInit stage of the application", but I have no such event in my HttpApplication object and find absolutely zero information about it on the internet. Either way, I don't want to be calling BuildManager.AddReferencedAssembly() in or before the Application_Start event, since that makes me have to recycle the whole application to be able to add new plugins to the system. Does anyone have any clues? Any other ideas on how I can "execute" an .aspx file that is embedded as a resource within an assembly through reflection? Can I for instance pre-compile the .aspx file within the same assembly as the base Page class it inherits?

  • How to share session cookies between Internet Explorer and an ActiveX components hosted in a webpage

    I am currently working on a .Net application which makes HTTP requests to some web applications hosted on a IIS server. The application is deployed through ClickOnce and is working fine on simple networks architectures. One of our customers has a very complex network involving a custom authentication server on which the user has first to log himself in order to be authenticated and get access to other applications on this network. Once authenticated on this server, a session cookie is created and sent to the user. Every time the user then makes a request on a secured server of the network, this cookie is checked to grant access to the user. If this cookie is not sent with the request, the user is redirected to the login page. The only browser used is Internet Explorer. This cookie cannot be accessed from our .net application since it is executed in another process than the Internet Explorer process which was used to log the user in, and thus is not sent with our requests, which cannot be completed since the server redirects every of our requests to the login page. I had a look at embedding my application into Internet Explorer by making the main control COM visible and creating it on an HTML page with an tag. It is working properly, however the sessions cookies set earlier in the browser are not sent when the ActiveX control makes web requests. I was hoping this sharing of the session information would be automatic (although I didn't really believe it). So my questions are : Is it possible to have access to this cookie in the embedded ActiveX? How? Does it make a difference to use a .Net COM-interop component instead of a "true" ActiveX control? Also, are there specific security words to describe this kind of behaviors (given that I am not an expert at all on security topics, this lack of proper terminology makes it a lot harder to find the needed resources)? My goal is to have my application's requests look the same from the requests made by the host browser's requests, and I thought that embedding the application as an ActiveX control into the browser was the only way to achieve this, however any suggestion on another to do this is welcome.

  • Very strange iSeries Provider behavior

    We've been given a "stored procedure" from our RPG folks that returns six data tables. Attempting to call it from .NET (C#, 3.5) using the iSeries Provider for .NET (tried using both V5R4 and V6R1), we are seeing different results based on how we call the stored proc. Here's way that we'd prefer to do it: using (var dbConnection = new iDB2Connection("connectionString")) { dbConnection.Open(); using(var cmd = dbConnection.CreateCommand()) { cmd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure; cmd.CommandText = "StoredProcName"; cmd.Parameters.Add(new iDB2Parameter("InParm1", iDB2DbType.Varchar).Value = thing; var ds = new DataSet(); var da = new iDB2DataAdapter(cmd); da.Fill(ds); } } Doing it this way, we get FIVE tables back in the result set. However, if we do this: cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; cmd.CommandText = "CALL StoredProcName('" + thing + "')"; We get back the expected SIX tables. I realize that there aren't many of us sorry .NET-to-DB2 folks out here, but I'm hoping someone has seen this before. TIA.

  • T4 vs CodeDom vs Oslo

    In an application scaffolding project on which I'm working, I'm trying to decide whether to use Oslo, T4 or CodeDom for generating code. Our goals are to keep dependencies to a minimum and drive code generation for a domain driven design from user stories. The first step will be to create the tests from the user stories, but we want the domain experts to be able to write their stories in a variety of different media (e.g. custom app, Word, etc.) and still generate the tests from the stories. What I know so far: CodeDom requires .NET but can only output .NET class files (e.g. .cs, .vb). Level of difficulty is fairly high. T4 requires CodeDom and VS Standard+. Level of difficulty is fairly reasonable, especially with the T4 Toolbox. Oslo is very new. I have no idea of the dependencies, but I imagine you must be on at least .NET 3.5. I'm also not certain as to the code generation abilities or the complexity for adding new grammars. However, domain experts could probably write user stories in Intellipad quite easily. Also not sure about ease of converting stories in Word to an MGrammar. What are your thoughts, experiences, etc. with any of the above tools. We want to stick with Microsoft or open source tools.
