I was a flash developer for 3 years, and in the last 5 months, i begin the iphone development, i do 2 applications with interface builder for clients, and now i really want to do a little game, is quite simple, one match 3! I made the engine in interface builder, and seens good to me! But after i read some posts, i really want to try it in the cocos2D! So, in 2 days i rewrite all my first engine for cocos2D, very annoying upsidedown coordinates but ok, i really do! But the performance side by side with interface builder version is really scare! Many Many slow downs at the cocos2d side! And the animation seens bugged to me! I really scare! I really don't know what is the best choice for a simple game. And i want some opinions: Using cocos2d when need some physics? When we have many objects at screen? What is the performance boost i have with cocos2D? I have how to share this 2 applications with you guys?! Without your UID?!

• SetWindowPos has not effect on tooltip

  Hello, I am trying to give my ComboBox an in place tooltip for long strings. However when I call SetWindowPos on the tooltip, the position is never changed. Called when TTN_SHOW is received: ::SetWindowPos(textTooltip, NULL, TipRect.left, TipRect.top, 0, 0, SWP_NOSIZE | SWP_NOACTIVATE | SWP_NOZORDER); If I remove the SWP_NOSIZE flag and pop in some values into the width/height, then the combo box changes size to these values but the position remains the same. SetWindowPos always returns TRUE. This project is composed by: Client project: Windows Forms where user will do CRUD operations on the models; Server project; Common Project: This project will hold the models (in the image only have the model Item); ListSingleton: Remote Object that will do the operations on the models; I already have all the communication working, but now I need to work on the persistence of the data in a mysql database. I was trying to use nHibernate but I’m having some troubles. My main problem is how to organize my hibernate configuration. In which project do I keep the mapping? Common project? In which project do I keep the hibernate configuration file (App.config)? ListSingleton project? Is there any way to define the order?Or i should set null the list ,persist and then set the list again ? thanks:)

  Hello: 2 questions actuall: Is there a good comprensive guide out there for creating add-ins for Visual Studio? Here's a weird specific problem -- I'm trying to get my add-in to load. The code that the wizard stubs into the OnConnect method will add it to the toolbar, but only if it passes this "if" statement: if (connectMode == ext_ConnectMode.ext_cm_UISetup) The problem is that connectMode never seems to equal ext_cm_UISetup. It always seems to equal ext_cm_AfterStartup, and My AddIn never appears on the toolbar. I could cheat and short-circuit the if, but since Visual Studio put that code there, I bet it's right, and I have something else wrong. According to the docs, the value should only ever be ext_cm_UISetup once -- the first time VS encounters the addin. So I probably need to somehow make VS forget about the add-in, but I can't find anywhere to do that. And by the way, isn't that exceptionally delicate? The reason I'm in this pickle is because I happened to get an exception on the first try, so now I can never try again?? Can't be right.

  hello all i have the following piece of code, that im looking forward to optimize, since i'm consuming gobs of memory this routine is heavily used first optimization would be to move the stringbuilder construction out of the download routine and make it a field of the class, then i would clear it inside the routine can you please suggest any other optimization or point me in the direction of some resources that could help me with this (web articles, books, etc). i'm thinking about replacing the stringbuilder by a fixed (much larger) size buffer ... or perhaps create a larger sized stringbuilder thanks in advance. • Console in VS 2012 Express for C++?

  I'm very new to programming, so be nice. I was using Eclipse for C/C++ devs for a while, but it seemed quite buggy so I was advised to switch to Visual Studio Express. All of the text pops up in a little command prompt window. And, also, this window closes right after displaying new text if there is no other things to do after it (like a cin). I have been told that I can use system("pause") but there has to be a better way. In Eclipse, the text would not suddenly disappear because the console window closed. i know this question might be a little confusing, comment and I'll try to explain what I'm saying. Or paste the codes into your Visual Studio 2012 Express Edition. But is there a way to display all of my text and whatever in a "console" as opposed to a command prompt-type window; and why does it always close before I can read the last thing?

Just in case So the pivot table has name 'enrollment' and has 2 columns: page_id , menugroup_id I tried to add pk in pivot table, but it changed nothing I tried to add/remove db relation between pages/menugroups and pivot table (InnoDB) but with no luck I tried save all data in controller, but with the same bad result:( I am still getting the same error: Undefined index: enrollment in ORM line: $columns = array($this-_has_many[$alias]['foreign_key'], $this-_has_many[$alias]['far_key']); Could somebody tell me, what can be else wrong? • How does this Bookmarklet allow you to stay signed into this site?

  Hello all, I have come across Evernote's bookmarklet and was wondering how this worked. You can just drag it to your bookmark and go to any webpage, click that bookmarklet and it will first ask you to login in. All this I have done already and know how it works. The bit that I don't understand is that when you log in they authenticate you and allow you to submit stuff (in this case, a site url etc). When you are done the bookmarklet which placed a small overlay on the page you are viewing disappears. When you go to a new tab and use the bookmarklet again you are still logged in! How? I can see they are using an iFrame when their bookmarklet loads the overlay onto the page - but do they set cookies or something? If so, is this secure? Anyone can change the values? Or are they using some sort of private/public key system Btw, I would like to replicate this Bookmarklet using PHP/Javascript(JQuery maybe). I would appreciate if anyone can help me understand how they do this or point me to relevant tutorials. Thanks all for any help.

  Hello. My client would like a business application to support 'every possible device'. The application in question is essentially a web application and 'every possible device', I believe encompasses mobile phones, netbooks, ipad, other browser supporting devices, etc. The application is somewhat complex w.r.t. the data it captures and other functions it performs (reporting). If I continue to honor increasing complexity in the application, I guess there are more chances of it not working on other devices. I'd like to know how web applications support multiple devices conventionally? Are there multiple versions of presentation layer (like many times I find m.website.com dedicated for mobile devices)? Further, if my application is to take advantage of Java Script, RIA (Flash, SilverLight) then what are the consequences and workarounds? Mine is a .Net based application and the stack also contains Ext JS Java Script library. While I would like to use it for sure, considering that I would be doing a lot of work in Java Script rather than HTML, this could be a problem. The answer to the above could be descriptive. If there is something already prescribed out there, please share the link(s). Thanks.

  Hello, I am working to force a view into landscape mode, and have picked up all kinds of cool tips to make this happen, but am stuck on one item that is left on the screen. I have my XIB file laid out in landscape, and in my code I create the view controller normally: RedeemViewController *aViewController = [[RedeemViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"RedeemViewController" bundle:nil]; aViewController.hidesBottomBarWhenPushed = YES; aViewController.wantsFullScreenLayout = YES; [[self navigationController] pushViewController:aViewController animated:YES]; Inside the controller viewDidLoad I complete the following: [[UIApplication sharedApplication] setStatusBarOrientation:UIInterfaceOrientationLandscapeRight]; [[self navigationController] setNavigationBarHidden:YES animated:YES]; [UIView beginAnimations:@"View Flip" context:nil]; [UIView setAnimationDuration:.75]; [UIView setAnimationCurve:UIViewAnimationCurveEaseInOut]; if (self.interfaceOrientation == UIInterfaceOrientationPortrait) { self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformIdentity; self.view.transform = CGAffineTransformMakeRotation(degreesToRadian(90)); self.view.bounds = CGRectMake(0.0, 0.0, 480, 320); } [UIView commitAnimations]; What I end up with is a perfectly rotated view, with a grey vertical bar on the left side (see pic). So to the question, how do I get rid of the bar? Edit: I am pretty sure this is the navigation bar that is not being hidden. This is a duplicate of another post, with some modified code, the other question was being answered with the bug.

• How-to diagnose and fix such "on-site" crash of dotnet application?

  Hello! I'm working on some application which has auto-update function. The implemented idea is simple as following: - There are some "starter" application which is installed to "Program Files/whatever/...". It's the application which is intended to be started by user. - Each time the "starter" application is executed it checks server for updates and downloads it to "%APPDATA%/some/...". And then it starts some application from that folder. Above approach is working on my development machine (running Vista) and on some other machines under XP, but under some different machine (running Windows 7) it isn't working. When "starter" executes the real application it crashes with some unknown problem (Signature = System.UnauthorizedAccess). When real application is executed manually from %APPDATA%/some/ folder then everything is working fine. I've tried to set same working directory in ProcessStartInfo, so "starter" will also execute real application in that folder, but this isn't helped me. How can I diagnose and/or fix that issue?
