    please help me to find out error in my sql query. i have created this query to compare dates select * from Joinplans jp where cast(convert(varchar ,GETDATE(),103) AS datetime) BETWEEN CASE(convert(varchar,jp.planstartDate,103) AS datetime) AND CASE(convert(varchar,DATEADD(DAY,jp.planDays,jp.planstartDate),103) AS DATETIME) It's giving me the error: incorrect near 'AS' I am using SQL Server 2005.

  • Change Windows Authentication user for Sql Server Management Studio

    We're using Sql Server 2005 with Windows Authentication setup. So normally, when you log in using e.g. Sql Server Management Studio, it forces you to log in at MACHINE_NAME\Username. Anyways, on this one particular computer, the person said they had to make a new account called User01 to do something and showed me where she'd created it under security in the "master" system database. And so now when she logs in, it's listed as MACHINE_NAME\User01 (not the actual Windows user name). It's still set to Windows Authentication, though, and I'm unable to change the login name. Now here's where the real problem comes in... I didn't realize that she was being logged in under this user name at the time, and I disabled it to see what would happen. Now I can't log into the server under her account. I created a new account in Windows called test, and as expected SSMS had the username as MACHINE_NAME\test, and I was able to log in fine. However, the area where the User01 account was listed is not visible to me as far as I can tell and so I can't reenable it. I also tried running the following query: alter login User01 ENABLE And got this error: Msg 15151, Level 16, State 1, Line 1 Cannot alter the login 'User01', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. So in a nutshell, ideally I'd like to reenable User01 somehow, just to get things back to where they used to be. Failing that, how can I force SSMS to log in using the Windows account name as it should be, rather than trying to use User01?

    Hi all, I'd like to write a single JDBC statement that can handle the equivalent of any number of NOT BETWEEN date1 AND date2 where clauses. By single query, i mean that the same SQL string will be used to create the JDBC statements and then have different parameters supplied. This is so that the underlying frameworks can efficiently cache the query (i've been stung by that before). Essentially, I'd like to find a query that is the equivalent of SELECT * FROM table WHERE mydate NOT BETWEEN ? AND ? AND mydate NOT BETWEEN ? AND ? AND mydate NOT BETWEEN ? AND ? AND mydate NOT BETWEEN ? AND ? and at the same time could be used with fewer parameters: SELECT * FROM table WHERE mydate NOT BETWEEN ?   • Looking for a NTP Server Software for Windows

    I'm looking for a, preferably free, NTP Server for Windows Server 2003/2008. We have already tried the built in Windows Time Server, but our tests did show that it is not very accurate, we see time differences up to 500ms. The max time difference we can allow for our application is ~100ms. Now we have already used the Meinberg NTPd for Windows. It works great except we have one big issue with it: If there is a network connection problem between the client and server, the ntp server is in a panic state It won't give the client a new time until we restart the ntp service. This is a big issue which has caused us some trouble. It was working fine for months until there was a network problem we didn't notice, we only noticed it after a week when the time difference was already 30 sec. on the clients. So please suggest some alternative NTP Server for windows. I did Google but I get a lot of unrelated search results. Edit: So far the ntpd windows version was very accurate and I'd like to stick with it. The only problem is the "panic state" after a network disconnect. Maybe some knows here what the cause of this is and how to fix it. Also, I forgot to mention that we have a server/client setup like this: Server1 -- Server2 -- Server3 -- Client1 -- Client2 -- Client3 So Server2 gets its time from Server1, Server3 gets its time from Server2, and the Clients get their time from Server3. Also, there are clients connected directly to Server2. It is important that all Servers and Clients have the exact same time (within ~100ms) Now there was a network problem with Server3 and its clients. The servers run the ntpd port for Windows, which acts as NTP server and client. The clients have Dimension4 as NTP client. After the network problem, the error message in D4 was something like this (out the top of my head, don't have the exact error message): Server response: The server is in a panic state (could not sync clock) I read through the ntpd docs, and the only mention of "panic" is when the time difference is 10000 seconds which will cause to exit the ntpd server but this was not the case. Also there is a "-g" command line switch to disable the panic exit, but it is already set by default. Any ideas what could cause the panic state and how to get rid of it next time?

    Having just upgraded to a newer version of HtmlUnit (2.4), I've noticed certain tests are failing when comparing the output of asText. Looking into the differences, this is because dates (present on the page in the format 11/06/2010 00:00z) are being altered in the output to read 2010-06-11. Has anybody else encountered this, and can anybody advise how to turn off this (seemingly undocumented) feature of asText, which seems to go completely against the advised documentation.

    Hi, I have a fairly weird 'bug' with a simple query, and I vaguely remember reading the reason for it somewhere a long time ago but would love someone to refresh my memory. The table is a basic ID, Datetime table. The query is: select ID, Datetime from Table where Datetime <= '2010-03-31 23:59:59' The problem is that the query results include results where the Datetime is '2010-04-01 00:00:00'. The next day.   • Virtual StringTree's hint windows are left out on the screen

    Hi, See this screenshot, in the middle it's the small hint windows that are generated by a TVirtualStringTree control and were left out on the screen, these hint windows will remain there until the application exits. the problem happens when the treeview's hint is shown and the mouse leaves quickly to the window next to it. Any idea about how to avoid this or how to clear those un-erased hint windows if it's difficult to avid this? Few days ago I asked a similar question, while the hint windows in the screenshots look the same, the are not the same problem. That problem, the hint text never shows and only that kind of uncompleted hint windows are shown; This problem, the hint text shows but the hint windows are not completely erased in a case (as I described above).     Hello, I am trying to find a way to calculate a duration in days between my, time zone (Central), and (Pacific; Mountain; Eastern). Just do not know where to start. My criteria would be as follows: Cell C5:C100 would be the timestamps in this format:3/18/2010 23:45 but for different dates and times. Cell D5:D100 would be the corresponding timezone in text form: Pacific; Mountain; Eastern; Central. Cell F5 would be where the duration in days would need to be.   • Migrating to Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controllers - a few Questions/Issues

    Ok so here's our setup: We have 2 Windows 2003 Domain Controllers. I am trying to replace them with Windows 2008 R2. The 2003 servers are named DC01 and DC02. The 2008 R2 servers are DC1 and DC2. I prepared the Windows Server 2003 Forest Schema for a Domain Controller that runs Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2. Then with both of the new servers up as member servers I ran dcpromo on DC1 using the advanced option and added it successfully to my existing domain. It's roles are GC, DNS and Active Directory Domain Services. I transferred The PDC Emulator, RID Pool Manager, and Infrastructure Master roles to DC1. The Schema Master and Domain Naming master are still on DC01. The first issue that I'm encountering is when I dcpromo the DC2 and select "Replicate data over the network from and existing domain controller" I select that I want to replicate from DC1 and I get the following error: Failed to identify the requested replica partner (dc1.xxx.org) as a valid domain controller with a machine account for (DC2$). This is likely due to either the machine account not being replicated to this domain controller because of replication latency or the domain controller not advertising the Active Directory Domain Services. Please consider retrying the operation with \dc01.xxx.org as the replica partner. "The server is unwilling to process the request. Is this because the Schema Master and Domain Naming Master roles are still on the old DC01? And if so, if I transfer Schema Master and Domain Naming Master roles to DC1 what is the risk or breaking my AD? I'm a little paranoid because this process HAS to be transparent. ANY down time or interruption will result in me getting a verbal ass kicking from my I.T. Director. Both of the new servers DNS point the the old DNS servers (DC01 and DC02) not themselves by the way.

  • VNC from Windows to OS X Lion: App stuck in fullscreen mode

    I'm connecting to a remote Mac through a Windows. ahh it gets more complicated than that. I'm sitting by my iMac. I use Virtual Box in it to launch Windows 7. In it I have a VPN connection to a remote Windows network, which allows me to use Remote Desktop to one of the Windows (Vista!) boxes over there. From that Vista box I VNC into a Mac OS X Lion. (Don't ask me why, but that Mac doesn't have a public ip which prevents me from accessing it in the first place.) So: OSXLion - (virtual)Windows7 - Windows Vista - OSX Lion That last Mac was recently upgraded from Snow Leopard. Now with Lion, sometimes apps run in fullscreen. Somehow I can't get out of that fullscreen. Normally you'd move the mouse pointer to the top of screen and a menu list bar drops down allowing you to reach the fullscreen button top right. Now, in my current setup that menu list bar never drops down on the remote Mac at the end of the line. Any ideas?
