  • CSS Files Don't Refresh with Wicket (Launched in Intellij via Start.java)

    I have create a skeleton Wicket project using mvn archetype:create -DarchetypeGroupId=org.apache.wicket -DarchetypeArtifactId=wicket-archetype-quickstart -DarchetypeVersion=1.4-rc4 -DgroupId=com.mycompany -DartifactId=myproject All the configuration/importing new project with Maven/Intellij worked fine. I proceeded to add a basic CSS file to my start page, per the following recommended way of doing it in Wicket 1.4 public class BasePage extends WebPage { public BasePage() { add(CSSPackageResource.getHeaderContribution(BasePage.class, "main.css")); } } The main.css file has been put along side BasePage.java and BasePage.html in /src/main/java. I launch the application with Start.java. The problem is when I make changes to the CSS file it is not being picked up when I relaunch Start.java. (Changes to the java and html files are being updated when I change them) I made sure the browser cache was being cleared, and even valided the request/response in Firfox/Firebug. It seems like somewhere between Wicket's magic and the jetty instance Start.java creates the CSS file is being cached and not updated. Any ideas?

    After working through the Django tutorial I'm now trying to build a very simple invoicing application. I want to add several Products to an Invoice, and to specify the quantity of each product in the Invoice form in the Django admin. Now I've to create a new Product object if I've got different quantites of the same Product. Right now my models look like this (Company and Customer models left out): class Product(models.Model): description = models.TextField() quantity = models.IntegerField() price = models.DecimalField(max_digits=10,decimal_places=2) tax = models.ForeignKey(Tax) class Invoice(models.Model): company = models.ForeignKey(Company) customer = models.ForeignKey(Customer) products = models.ManyToManyField(Product) invoice_no = models.IntegerField() invoice_date = models.DateField(auto_now=True) due_date = models.DateField(default=datetime.date.today() + datetime.timedelta(days=14)) I guess the quantity should be left out of the Product model, but how can I make a field for it in the Invoice model?

    I want to put some subs that are within an OO package into an array - also within the package - to use as a dispatch table. Something like this package Blah::Blah; use fields 'tests'; sub new { my($class )= @_; my $self = fields::new($class); $self->{'tests'} = [ $self->_sub1 ,$self->_sub2 ]; return $self; } _sub1 { ... }; _sub2 { ... }; I'm not entirely sure on the syntax for this? $self->{'tests'} = [ $self->_sub1 ,$self->_sub2 ]; or $self->{'tests'} = [ \&{$self->_sub1} ,\&{$self->_sub2} ]; or $self->{'tests'} = [ \&{_sub1} ,\&{_sub2} ]; I don't seem to be able to get this to work within an OO package, whereas it's quite straightforward in a procedural fashion, and I haven't found any examples for OO.   • Boost Thread Hanging on _endthreadex

    I think I am making a simple mistake, but since I noticed there are many boost experts here, I thought I would ask for help. I am trying to use boost threads(1_40) on windows xp. The main program loads a dll, starts the thread like so (note this is not in a class, the static does not mean static to a class but private to the file). static boost::thread network_thread; network_start() { // do network stuff until quit is signaled } DllClass::InitInstance() { network_thread = boost::thread(boost::bind<void>(network_start)); } DllClass::ExitInstance() { //signal quit (which works) //the following code is slightly verbose because I'm trying to figure out what's wrong try { if (network_thread.joinable() ) { network_thread.join(); } else { TRACE("Too late!"); } } catch (boost::thread_interrupted&) { TRACE("NET INTERRUPTED"); } } The problem is that the main thread is hanging on the join, and the network thread is hanging at the end of _endthreadex. What am I misunderstanding?

  • MVC.NET UpdateModel doesn't update inherited public properties??

    I refactored some common properties into a base class and immediately my model updates started failing. UpdateModel() and TryUpdateModel() do not seem to update inherited public properties. I cannot find detailed info on MSDN nor Google as to the rules or semantics of these methods. The docs are terse (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd470933.aspx), simply stating: Updates the specified model instance using values from the controller's current value provider. Well that leads us to believe it is as simple as that. It makes no mention of limitations with inheritance. My assumption is the methods are reflecting on the top class only, ignoring base properties, but this seems to be an ugly shortcoming, if so.

  • C# Winforms: PropertyGrid not updated when item added to Collection

    I've got a custom class which can be edited through the PropertyGrid. In that class I've got a custom Collection (with custom PropertyDescriptor and TypeConverter). Items can be added to or removed from the Collection with the default Collection Editor. This all works fine. But - after closing the Collection Editor, the PropertyGrid is not updated. When I manual make a call to Refresh() on the PropertyGrid, the changes are reflected in the PropertyGrid. How can I get the PropertyGrid to automatically refresh when the Collection Editor has been closed? I sought for a solution earlier where I should subclass CollectionEditor (which I can't seem to find). Please help.

    Calling Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyControl.ascx"); from a view works if Method.ascx is a control that directly inherits System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl. However, if the control inherits a new class that derives from System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl, the call to Html.RenderPartial("~/Views/Payments/MyDerivedControl.ascx"); fails, reporting that no such view exists. Example derived ViewUserControl: class MyDerivedControl : System.Web.Mvc.ViewUserControl { public Method() { ViewData["SomeData"] = "test"; } } Is there a workaround, or is there another way I should be doing this? Perhaps an HTML helper?

    I have some experience writing web applications in Java for class projects. My first project used Servlets and my second, the Stripes framework. However, I feel that I am missing the greater picture of Java web development. I don't really understand the web.xml and context.xml files. I'm not sure what constitutes a Java EE application as opposed to a generic Java web application. I can't figure out how a bean is different from an ordinary Java class (POJO?) and how that differs from an Enterprise Java Bean (EJB). These are just the first few questions I could think of, but there are many more. What is a good way to learn how Java web applications function from the top down rather than simply how to develop an application with a specific framework? (Is there a book for this sort of thing?) Ultimately, I would like to understand Java web applications well enough to write my own framework.

    I am using WCF REST service (GET method) to retrieve my EF4 POCOs. The service seem to work just fine. When I query the uri in my browser I get the results as expected. In my client application I am trying to use WCF REST Starter Kit's HTTPExtension method - ReadAsDataContract() to convert the result back into my POCO. This works fine when the POCO's navigation property is a single object of related POCO. The problem is when the navigation property is a collection of related POCOs. The ReadAsDataContract() method throws an exception with message "Object reference not set to an instance of an object." Below are my POCOs.     Hello, I have the following scenario: 1 class called 'Widget' with the properties: ID, Code, Description 1 class called 'MyWidget' with a property: m_Widget As Widget 1 ComboBox The ComboBox has a List(Of Widget) set as the ItemSource. I create an instance of 'MyWidget' named MyWidget1 and I set the property values of the m_Widget to match one of the items in the 'ComboBox List(Of Widget)'. I then set the DataContext of the ComboBox to MyWidget1.Widget. When I change the ComboBox selected item, only the ID property of 'MyWidget1.Widget' gets updated... How do I get the object 'Widget' on 'MyWidget1' to be updated instead of just 'MyWidget1.Widget.ID'?     I have a JPA/Hibernate application and am trying to get it to run against H2 and MySQL. Currently I am using Atomikos for transactions and C3P0 for connection pooling. Despite my best efforts I am still seeing this in the log file (and DAO integration tests are failing with org.hibernate.NonUniqueObjectException even though Spring Test should be rolling back the database after each test method): [20100613 23:06:34] DEBUG [main] SessionFactoryImpl.(242) | instantiating session factory with properties: .....edited for brevity.... hibernate.connection.autocommit=true, ....more stuff follows The connection URL to H2 has AUTOCOMMIT=OFF, but according to the H2 documentation: this will not work as expected when using a connection pool (the connection pool manager will re-enable autocommit when returning the connection to the pool, so autocommit will only be disabled the first time the connection is used So I figured (apparently correctly) that Hibernate is where I'll have to indicate I want autocommit off.     I have all my views in a project inheriting from a ViewBase class that inherits from UserControl. In my XAML I reference it thus: <f:ViewBase x:Class="Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views.AddNewEmployeeView" xmlns:f="clr-namespace:Forte.UI.Modules.Configure.Views" xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation" xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml" It works fine.     How can I mousedrag different BufferedImages in Java2D? For instance, if I have ten or more images, how can I move that images which my mouse is over? Now I'm importing an BufferedImage with BufferedImage img = new BufferdImage(new File("filename")); And I'm painting this with Graphics2D with public void paintComponent(Graphics g) { super.paintComponent(g); g2d = (Graphics2D) g; g2d.drawImage(img, x1, y1, null); g2d.drawImage(img2, x2, y2,null); } Everytime I'm moving on a image I'm repaint()-ing the entire screen. My mousemove class is as follows class MouseMotionHandler extends MouseMotionAdapter { @Override public void mouseDragged(MouseEvent e) { x1 = e.getX() - (img.getWidth() / 2); y1 = e.getY() - (img.getHeight() / 2); repaint(); } } With this method I'm able to "drag" one picture, but what to do when I will drag more individually?

    Hi. I am trying to make some alarms after the user selects something with a time from a list and create a notification for it at the given time. My problem is that the "showname" that a putExtra on my Intent cant be received at the broadcast receiver. It always get null value. This is the way I do it for most of my intents but I think this time maybe because of the pendingIntent or the broadcastReceiver something need to be done differentelly. My question is, in Java do methods have to have static in order to use them even if they are in the same class?

  • What's the convention for extending Linq with set based helper operations

    Hi All I might be vaguing out here but I'm looking for a nice place to put set based helper operations in linq so I can do things like; db.Selections.ClearTemporary() which does something like db.DeleteAllOnSubmit(db.Selections.Where(s => s.Temporary)) Since I can figure out how to extend Table<Selection> the best I can do is create a static method in partial class of Selection (similar to Ruby) but I have to pass in the datacontext like; Selection.ClearTemporary(MyDataContext) This kind of sucks because I have two conventions for doing set based operations and I have to pass the data context to the static class. I've seen other people recommending piling helper methods into a partial of the datacontext like; myDataContext.ClearTemporarySelections(); But I feel this makes the dc a dumping ground for in-cohesive operations. Surely I'm missing something. I hope so. What's the convention? TIA
