  • boost::spirit::real_p some how round ups the value.

    - by rkbang
Hello all, I am using the boost::spirit parser. At one point when I use real_p, the value coming out of the parser stack is 38672000 instead of the actual value, 386731500. Some how it is considering it as a float value, I think. Is there anyway to fix this? Do I need to set the precision of real_p, or am using real_p in the wrong context?

  • How to optimize this SQL query for a rectangular region?

    - by Andrew B.
I'm trying to optimize the following query, but it's not clear to me what index or indexes would be best. I'm storing tiles in a two-dimensional plane and querying for rectangular regions of that plane. The table has, for the purposes of this question, the following columns: id: a primary key integer world_id: an integer foreign key which acts as a namespace for a subset of tiles tileY: the Y-coordinate integer tileX: the X-coordinate integer value: the contents of this tile, a varchar if it matters. I have the following indexes: "ywot_tile_pkey" PRIMARY KEY, btree (id) "ywot_tile_world_id_key" UNIQUE, btree (world_id, "tileY", "tileX") "ywot_tile_world_id" btree (world_id) And this is the query I'm trying to optimize: ywot=> EXPLAIN ANALYZE SELECT * FROM "ywot_tile" WHERE ("world_id" = 27685 AND "tileY" <= 6 AND "tileX" <= 9 AND "tileX" >= -2 AND "tileY" >= -1 ); QUERY PLAN ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bitmap Heap Scan on ywot_tile (cost=11384.13..149421.27 rows=65989 width=168) (actual time=79.646..80.075 rows=96 loops=1) Recheck Cond: ((world_id = 27685) AND ("tileY" <= 6) AND ("tileY" >= (-1)) AND ("tileX" <= 9) AND ("tileX" >= (-2))) -> Bitmap Index Scan on ywot_tile_world_id_key (cost=0.00..11367.63 rows=65989 width=0) (actual time=79.615..79.615 rows=125 loops=1) Index Cond: ((world_id = 27685) AND ("tileY" <= 6) AND ("tileY" >= (-1)) AND ("tileX" <= 9) AND ("tileX" >= (-2))) Total runtime: 80.194 ms So the world is fixed, and we are querying for a rectangular region of tiles. Some more information that might be relevant: All the tiles for a queried region may or may not be present The height and width of a queried rectangle are typically about 10x10-20x20 For any given (world, X) or (world, Y) pair, there may be an unbounded number of matching tiles, but the worst case is currently around 10,000, and typically there are far fewer. New tiles are created far less frequently than existing ones are updated (changing the 'value'), and that itself is far less frequent that just reading as in the query above. The only thing I can think of would be to index on (world, X) and (world, Y). My guess is that the database would be able to take those two sets and intersect them. The problem is that there is a potentially unbounded number of matches for either for either of those. Is there some other kind of index that would be more appropriate?

  • SQL error - Cannot convert nvarchar to decimal

    - by jakesankey
    I have a C# application that simply parses all of the txt documents within a given network directory and imports the data to a SQL server db. Everything was cruising along just fine until about the 1800th file when it happend to have a few blanks in columns that are called out as DBType.Decimal (and the value is usually zero in the files, not blank). So I got this error, "cannot convert nvarchar to decimal". I am wondering how I could tell the app to simply skip the lines that have this issue?? Perhaps I could even just change the column type to varchar even tho values are numbers (what problems could this create?) Thanks for any help! using System; using System.Data; using System.Data.SQLite; using System.IO; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using System.Threading; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.Linq; using System.Data.SqlClient; namespace JohnDeereCMMDataParser { internal class Program { public static List<string> GetImportedFileList() { List<string> ImportedFiles = new List<string>(); using (SqlConnection connect = new SqlConnection(@"Server=FRXSQLDEV;Database=RX_CMMData;Integrated Security=YES")) { connect.Open(); using (SqlCommand fmd = connect.CreateCommand()) { fmd.CommandText = @"SELECT FileName FROM CMMData;"; fmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text; SqlDataReader r = fmd.ExecuteReader(); while (r.Read()) { ImportedFiles.Add(Convert.ToString(r["FileName"])); } } } return ImportedFiles; } private static void Main(string[] args) { Console.Title = "John Deere CMM Data Parser"; Console.WriteLine("Preparing CMM Data Parser... done"); Console.WriteLine("Scanning for new CMM data..."); Console.ForegroundColor = ConsoleColor.Gray; using (SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection(@"Server=FRXSQLDEV;Database=RX_CMMData;Integrated Security=YES")) { con.Open(); using (SqlCommand insertCommand = con.CreateCommand()) { Console.WriteLine("Connecting to SQL server..."); SqlCommand cmdd = con.CreateCommand(); string[] files = Directory.GetFiles(@"C:\Documents and Settings\js91162\Desktop\CMM WENZEL\", "*_*_*.txt", SearchOption.AllDirectories); List<string> ImportedFiles = GetImportedFileList(); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FeatType", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FeatName", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Axis", DbType.String)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Actual", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Nominal", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@Dev", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@TolMin", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@TolPlus", DbType.Decimal)); insertCommand.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@OutOfTol", DbType.Decimal)); foreach (string file in files.Except(ImportedFiles)) { var FileNameExt1 = Path.GetFileName(file); cmdd.Parameters.Clear(); cmdd.Parameters.Add(new SqlParameter("@FileExt", FileNameExt1)); cmdd.CommandText = @" IF (EXISTS (SELECT * FROM INFORMATION_SCHEMA.TABLES WHERE TABLE_SCHEMA = 'RX_CMMData' AND TABLE_NAME = 'CMMData')) BEGIN SELECT COUNT(*) FROM CMMData WHERE FileName = @FileExt; END"; int count = Convert.ToInt32(cmdd.ExecuteScalar()); con.Close(); con.Open(); if (count == 0) { Console.WriteLine("Preparing to parse CMM data for SQL import..."); if (file.Count(c => c == '_') > 5) continue; insertCommand.CommandText = @" INSERT INTO CMMData (FeatType, FeatName, Axis, Actual, Nominal, Dev, TolMin, TolPlus, OutOfTol, PartNumber, CMMNumber, Date, FileName) VALUES (@FeatType, @FeatName, @Axis, @Actual, @Nominal, @Dev, @TolMin, @TolPlus, @OutOfTol, @PartNumber, @CMMNumber, @Date, @FileName);"; string FileNameExt = Path.GetFullPath(file); string RNumber = Path.GetFileNameWithoutExtension(file); int index2 = RNumber.IndexOf("~"); Match RNumberE = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"^(R|L)\d{6}(COMP|CRIT|TEST|SU[1-9])(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); Match RNumberD = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"(?<=_)\d{3}[A-Z]\d{4}|\d{3}[A-Z]\d\w\w\d(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); Match RNumberDate = Regex.Match(RNumber, @"(?<=_)\d{8}(?=_)", RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); string RNumE = Convert.ToString(RNumberE); string RNumD = Convert.ToString(RNumberD); if (RNumberD.Value == @"") continue; if (RNumberE.Value == @"") continue; if (RNumberDate.Value == @"") continue; if (index2 != -1) continue; DateTime dateTime = DateTime.ParseExact(RNumberDate.Value, "yyyyMMdd", Thread.CurrentThread.CurrentCulture); string cmmDate = dateTime.ToString("dd-MMM-yyyy"); string[] lines = File.ReadAllLines(file); bool parse = false; foreach (string tmpLine in lines) { string line = tmpLine.Trim(); if (!parse && line.StartsWith("Feat.   • Google Maps: marker icons are multi-drawing over same location, why?

    - by JakiT
I'm using Google Maps and have the map set to height/width=100%. I noticed that when I resize the browser window, my map marker icons appear to redraw on top of the same location. Meaning, if I should only have 1 map marker icon on "987 Main St", when I resize the browser window - multiple map marker icons are being now draw on top of "987 Main St" that shouldn't be there. Any ideas why this is happening and how to prevent it? UPDATE: Link to actual code

  • How do you unit test a class that's meant to talk to data?

    - by Arda Xi
I have a few repository classes that are meant to talk to different kinds of data, deriving from an IRepository interface laid out like so: In implementations, the code talks to a data source, be this a directory of XML files or a database or even just a cache. Is it possible to reliably unit test any of these implementations? I don't see a mock implementation working, because then I'm only testing the mock code and not the actual code.

  • Video and Audio Drift

    - by Cenoc
Hey everyone, I was wondering, how much does recorded audio and video drift from their actual recording time usually? I'm recording both separately (into unsigned 8 bit PCM (44100 Hz) and raw image data files) and I was wondering how much I can expect each to drift. Thanks in advance!

  • Python: Converting legacy string dates to dates

    - by Eric
We have some legacy string dates that I need to convert to actual dates that can be used to perform some date logic. Converting to a date object isn't a problem if I knew what the format were! That is, some people wrote 'dd month yy', othes 'mon d, yyyy', etc. So, I was wondering if anybody knew of a py module that attempts to guess date formats and rewrites them in a uniform way? Any other suggestions? Thanks! :) Eric

  • How difficult is Haskell multi-threading?

    - by mvid
I have heard that in Haskell, creating a multi-threaded application is as easy as taking a standard Haskell application and compiling it with the -threaded flag. Other cases, however, have described the use of a par command within the actual source code. What is the state of Haskell multi-threading? How easy is it to introduce into programs? Is there a good multi-threading tutorial that goes over these different commands and their uses?

  • What is iproxy.saverpigeeks.com

I'm seeing it in a ton of search results and even copy pasted into content on this site (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2687289/adding-a-bookmark-link-to-a-facebook-iframe-app). Is it a phishing thing or just some actual proxy thing that is innocent?

  • Hide a base class method from derived class, but still visible outside of assembly

    - by clintp
This is a question about tidyness. The project is already working, I'm satisfied with the design but I have a couple of loose ends that I'd like to tie up. My project has a plugin architecture. The main body of the program dispatches work to the plugins that each reside in their own AppDomain. The plugins are described with an interface, which is used by the main program (to get the signature for invoking DispatchTaskToPlugin) and by the plugins themselves as an API contract: namespace AppServer.Plugin.Common { public interface IAppServerPlugin { void Register(); void DispatchTaskToPlugin(Task t); // Other methods omitted } } In the main body of the program Register() is called so that the plugin can register its callback methods with the base class, and then later DispatchTaskToPlugin() is called to get the plugin running. The plugins themselves are in two parts. There's a base class that implements the framework for the plugin (setup, housekeeping, teardown, etc..). This is where DispatchTaskToPlugin is actually defined: namespace AppServer.Plugin { abstract public class BasePlugin : MarshalByRefObject, AppServer.Plugin.Common.IAppServerPlugin { public void DispatchTaskToPlugin(Task t) { // ... // Eventual call to actual plugin code // } // Other methods omitted } } The actual plugins themselves only need to implement a Register() method (to give the base class the delegates to call eventually) and then their business logic. namespace AppServer.Plugin { public class Plugin : BasePlugin { override public void Register() { // Calls a method in the base class to register itself. } // Various callback methods, business logic, etc... } } Now in the base class (BasePlugin) I've implemented all kinds of convenience methods, collected data, etc.. for the plugins to use. Everything's kosher except for that lingering method DispatchTaskToPlugin(). It's not supposed to be callable from the Plugin class implementations -- they have no use for it. It's only needed by the dispatcher in the main body of the program. How can I prevent the derived classes (Plugin) from seeing the method in the base class (BasePlugin/DispatchTaskToPlugin) but still have it visible from outside of the assembly? I can split hairs and have DispatchTaskToPlugin() throw an exception if it's called from the derived classes, but that's closing the barn door a little late. I'd like to keep it out of Intellisense or possibly have the compiler take care of this for me. Suggestions?

  • What's the best way to reference a .DLL - as a normal reference or as a web service?

    - by dotnetdev
Hi, What is the best way to reference an existing .NET dll (Class library)? Is there any benefit to expose web services from the class library and reference these as opposed to referencing the actual .dll (Although one benefit of the web service approach is the granularity and thus surface area exposed is up to you at coding time)? I am thinking with loose coupling in mind, as a criteria. Thanks

  • Django admin breaking with non-default primary_key for model with a m2m relationship ?

    - by Gj
I have a simple Post model with a m2m field to a Tag model. The Tag had for some reason to use a non default primary key. Inside the admin page for a Post, the labels for the multiple selection field for Tags appear, but not the input field itself. I also tried using the filter_horizontal for the tags, but still only the labels appear without the actual field. Any ideas why it breaks and/or workarounds? Thanks!

  • Python - store output of subprocess() call in a string

    - by Mark
Hey all, I'm trying to make a system call in Python and store the output to a string that I can manipulate in the Python program. #!/usr/bin/python import subprocess p = subprocess.Popen("pwd") # edit - actual command I want to store output of p2 = subprocess.Popen("ntpq -p") I've tried a few things including some of the suggestions here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1996518/retrieving-the-output-of-subprocess-call but without any luck. Many thanks!
