• Dump vim screen into a file

  I need to dump whatever is seen on the vim screen as it is, with colors and everything. Is there a way do to id. I am hoping that ncurses uses the same escape sequence for colors as bash. So when I'll do cat on the file that I've dumped the screen to, I should get the same output as the vim file. I want to use it in the scenario when I am doing a side by side colorful diff of files and need to print them. If anyone knows of any other side-by-side colorful diff programs, please feel free to mention in the comments (not answers because I am hoping that this question will be answered so that it can be used by others).

• Keyboard/Mouse not working when windows vista has reached login screen

  I currently have a problem with a system (vista home premium, 64bit). USB kbd/mouse will not work when windows has booted/loaded their drivers and Im stuck at the login screen with no working input devices. None of the available boot options after F8 will boot to working kbd/mouse. They work in the bios setup and they seem powered all the way until a few seconds before the login screen. Legacy USB devices is also enabled in the bios. They also work with the recovery dvd, but I am unable to start the device manager to check or uninstall the mouse/kbd drivers. Cant get devmgmt.msc nor devmgr.dll (with rundll32) to work. System repair does not detect the problem and there are no available restore points (it was disabled). Any ideas?

• Vim not restoring screen contents on Debian?

  I always thought Vim restored the previous contents of the screen upon closing. This allows me to remember what commands I was typing previously and what I wanted to do next. Recently I've been using Debian 6 and Ubuntu (CLIs only) in a VM for a development project and I've been extremely annoyed with how Vim is operating. After I close the file its contents stay on the screen making me second guess whether I'm still in Vim or not, and having to use history to find out what I typed previously. I've been unable to find any solution. Using tput smcup and rmcup for instance does absolutely nothing.

• After installing Windows 7, there're lines on the screen

  Hi, I've just installed Windows 7 on my Dell machine. Everything works fine except that there are one or two lines on the screen. The line is so random and I am sure that it's now the monitor problem. The graphic card is NVidia GeForce 7600. I replaced the default driver with the driver from the manufacturer and it didn't help. When I change screen setting, the line goes away for a while and it comes back in different location. Sometimes an app window has the line and if I move the window the line follows with the window. What can I do to fix it? Thanks. Sam

• How to stop UITableView moveRowAtIndexPath from leaving blank rows upon reordering

  I am having an issue where in reordering my UITableViewCells, the tableView is not scrolling with the cell. Only a blank row appears and any subsequent scrolling gets an Array out of bounds error without any of my code in the Stack Trace. Here is a quick video of the problem. There is a problem when the queryset returns none since associated values are not unpacked. the quersyet is called comments.   UPDATE (3/8/2010) I installed Xdebug and have it tracing my code. I have installed everything the same way on a local server and it works fine. To say I am at a complete loss would be putting it lightly. *NOTE: I ran make test and it returned FAIL on every test. I never ran this on my working machine to see if it reports the same errors. Any idea why make test would report FAIL but make doesn't report any error? I've installed the Oracle Instantclient with no reported errors along with the OCI8 PECL package and at a loss. Whenever I try to open a connection with oci_connect, it halts my entire PHP script.   Hi I'm trying to take a screen shot of an applet running inside a browser. The applet is using JOGL (OpenGL for Java) to display 3D models. (1) The screen shots always come out either black or white.The current solution uses the usual GDI calls. Screen shots of applets not running OpenGL are fine.   Am trying to use OsmDroid with MapQuest maps downloaded from Mobile Atlas Creator. I followed all the instructions to generate the map tiles, upload them to the SDcard etc but when I run this on the device I get a screen with a bunch of empty boxes... • Home screen widget size for large screen or hdpi?

  From Android widget screen guidelines, http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/widget_design.html, we know that, home screen has 4*4 cells, and in portrait orientation, each cell is 80 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. I think these are for baseline HVGA screen. How about for large screens and hdpi screens, do they still have 4*4 cells for widget and each cell in portrait orientation is still 80 pixels * 100 pixels? Thanks.

• Python: OSX Library for fast full screen jpg/png display

  Frustrated by lack of a simple ACDSee equivalent for OS X, I'm looking to hack one up for myself. I'm looking for a gui library that accommodates: Full screen image display High quality image fit-to-screen (for display) Low memory usage Fast display Reasonable learning curve (the simpler the better) Looks like there are several choices, so which is the best? Here are some I've run across: PyOpenGL PyGame PyQT wxpython I don't have any particular experience with any of these, nor any strong desire to become an expert - I'm looking for the simplest solution. What do you recommend? [Update] For those not familiar with ACDSee, here's what it does that I care about: Simple list/thubmnail display of images in a directory Sort by name/size/type Ability to view images full screen Single-key delete while viewing full screen Move to next/previous image while viewing full screen Ability to select a group of images for: move to / copy to directory delete resize ACDSee has a bunch of niceties as well, such as remembering directories you've moved images to in the past, remembering your resize settings, displaying the total size of the images you've selected, etc. I've tried most of the options I could find (including Xee) and none of them quite get there. Please keep in mind that this is a programming/library question, not a criticism of any of the existing tools.

• Android multiple screen sizes with same density

  I'm confused regarding the densities. I see that with medium density, the screen resolution could be either 320x480, 480x800, or 480x854. So if I have an image thats 300px wide in the mdpi folder, how is it going to look the same size on all 3 different screen sizes (mainly 320x480 vs the other 2)? And by look the same size, I mean scale to be bigger or smaller depending upon the screen size. Thanks.
