  • Sed: regular expression match lines without <!--

    - by sixtyfootersdude
    I have a sed command to comment out xml commands sed 's/^\([ \t]*\)\(.*[0-9a-zA-Z<].*\)$/\1<!-- Security: \2 -->/' web.xml Takes: <a> <!-- Comment --> <b> bla </b> </a> Produces: <!-- Security: <a> --> <!-- Security: <!-- Comment --> --> // NOTE: there are two end comments. <!-- Security: <b> --> <!-- Security: bla --> <!-- Security: </b> --> <!-- Security: </a> --> Ideally I would like to not use my sed script to comment things that are already commented. Ie: <!-- Security: <a> --> <!-- Comment --> <!-- Security: <b> --> <!-- Security: bla --> <!-- Security: </b> --> <!-- Security: </a> --> I could do something like this: sed 's/^\([ \t]*\)\(.*[0-9a-zA-Z<].*\)$/\1<!-- Security: \2 -->/' web.xml sed 's/^[ \t]*<!-- Security: \(<!--.*-->\) -->/\1/' web.xml but I think a one liner is cleaner (?) This is pretty similar: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/436850/matching-a-line-that-doesnt-contain-specific-text-with-regular-expressions

  • Same object in different nib files?

    - by Michael
View1 object, which is UIViewController subclass is the same object as File's Owner of View1 nib. So I should manually set the class in both places, one in MainWindow and another in View1 nib files? This sound artificial to me... Either I'm doing something wrong or there has to be better way.

  • IBOutlets are always nil

    - by Jonas
Hi, In IB I have subclassed the File Owner and the subclass loads my .nib. The subclass itself doesn't need access to the IBOutlets so they're instance variables in another class, which I added as a subclass of NSObject in the .nib. Then I connected the interface elements to that object. But somehow, in the class that "owns" the IBOutlets, they show up as nil. What am I doing wrong here?

  • How can I improve this regular expression?

    - by Michael Haren
I want a regular expression to match valid input into a Tags input field with the following properties: 1-5 tags Each tag is 1-30 characters long Valid tag characters are [a-zA-Z0-9-] input and tags can be separated by any amount of whitespace Here's what I have so far--it seems to work but I'm interested how it could be simplified or if it has any major flaws: \s*[a-zA-Z0-9-]{1,30}(\s+[a-zA-Z0-9-]{1,30}){0,4}\s* // that is: \s* // match all beginning whitespace [a-zA-Z0-9-]{1,30} // match the first tag (\s+[a-zA-Z0-9-]{1,30}){0,4} // match all subsequent tags \s* // match all ending whitespace Preprocessing the input to make the whitespace issue easier isn't an option (e.g. trimming or adding a space). If it matters, this will be used in javascript. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks!

  • Can a tab bar controller added to a uitableview?

    - by Sheehan Alam
I have a View that contains a UITableView and a UITabBarController. I have set my IBOutlets, but the UITabbarController does not appear. Do I need to do anything else to allow it to appear? Note: I don't want the tab-bar to be displayed throughout the entire application. Only on one specific view.

  • How to match a variable list of items separated by commas

    - by user261915
I want to turn something like this CS 240, CS 246, ECE 222, ... (more or less); Software Engineering students only into ('CS 240', 'CS 246', 'ECE 222', 'ECE 220') in Python, code that matches a single course looks like >>> re.search('([A-Z]{2,5} \d{3})', 'SE 112').groups() ('SE 112',) I prefer a regular expression only method because I have a bunch of other alternate reg exps using '|' to combine them. However, a method with split is acceptable.

  • How to prevent regex from stopping at the first match of alternatives ?

    - by miket2e
    If I have the string hello world , how can I modify the regex world|wo|w so that it will match all of "world", "wo" and "w" rather than just the single first match of "world" that it comes to ? If this is not possible directly, is there a good workaround ? I'm using C# if it makes a difference: Regex testRegex = new Regex("world|wo|w"); MatchCollection theMatches = testRegex.Matches("hello world"); foreach (Match thisMatch in theMatches) { ... }

  • Iphone SDK- How to insert a banner in my app

    - by Dave
I have a tableview that my app shows when it loads, I would like to somehow put a banner at the bottom that if connceted to the internet will check my server for any new image files and if there are it will replace the current one and if not it will just leave it. That way I can constantly display messages to my users - sort of like in Doodle Jump. How could I achieve this? Thanks

  • BCB: how to get the (approximate) width of a chartacter in a given TFont?

    - by mawg
It's a TMemo, not that that should make any difference. Googling suggests that I can use Canvas->TextWidth() but those are Delphi examples and BCB doesn't seem to offer this property. I really want something analgous to memo->Font->Height for width. I realize that not all fonts are fixed width, so a good estimate will do. All that I need is to take the width of a TMemo in pixels and make a reasonable guess at how many characters of the curretn font it will hold.

  • How can I detect common substrings in a list of strings

    - by danio
Given a set of strings, for example: EFgreen EFgrey EntireS1 EntireS2 J27RedP1 J27GreenP1 J27RedP2 J27GreenP2 JournalP1Black JournalP1Blue JournalP1Green JournalP1Red JournalP2Black JournalP2Blue JournalP2Green I want to be able to detect that these are three sets of files: EntireS[1,2] J27[Red,Green]P[1,2] JournalP[1,2][Red,Green,Blue] Are there any known ways of approaching this problem - any published papers I can read on this? The approach I am considering is for each string look at all other strings and find the common characters and where differing characters are, trying to find sets of strings that have the most in common, but I fear that this is not very efficient and may give false positives. Note that this is not the same as 'How do I detect groups of common strings in filenames' because that assumes that a string will always have a series of digits following it. [Edited 15/09/09 to add more sample strings]

  • Generic factory of generic containers

    - by Feuermurmel
I have a generic abstract class Factory<T> with a method createBoxedInstance() which returns instances of T created by implementations of createInstance() wrapped in the generic container Box<T>. abstract class Factory<T> { abstract T createInstance(); public final Box<T> createBoxedInstance() { return new Box<T>(createInstance()); } public final class Box<T> { public final T content; public Box(T content) { this.content = content; } } } At some points I need a container of type Box<S> where S is an ancestor of T. Is it possible to make createBoxedInstance() itself generic so that it will return instances of Box<S> where S is chosen by the caller? Sadly, defining the function as follows does not work as a type parameter cannot be declared using the super keyword, only used. public final <S super T> Box<S> createBoxedInstance() { return new Box<S>(createInstance()); } The only alternative I see, is to make all places that need an instance of Box<S> accept Box<? extends S> which makes the container's content member assignable to S. Is there some way around this without re-boxing the instances of T into containers of type Box<S>? (I know I could just cast the Box<T> to a Box<S> but I would feel very, very guilty.)

  • Which class will be instanciated

    - by Michael
Say I have 2 subclasses from UIViewController, class A and class B. In Main nib file an object is representing class A and it is set to load file from Secondary nib file. The owner of Secondary nib is of class B. The question is - from which class an object in Main nib file will be instanciated once the nib files unarchived in the memory? The reason this question arised is that I have to take care myself if such reference to external NIB file present, to ensure that the first nib's object and second nib's owner is same. Please correct me if my statement is wrong.

  • Image impending other elements in iphone app view!

    - by wayne
Hi. If someone could help I have a view in my iphone app with an image, a label and a button. I have positioned the image at the back however when I run the simulator the image is all that is showing. I have done exactly the same thing with other views and they work fine but can't get this one to work. I have checked that the image is "send to back" and other elements are at the front. Still no good. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks

  • Drop down menu like the default iPad application menus

    - by Ryan French
Hi Everyone, I'm currently working on my first iOS application to run on the iPad, and I've come across a problem. I have been asked to implement menu's similar to the ones in the default applications such as when you click on the "Calendars" button in the top left of the calendars app. Only issue is, I cant seem to find a standard UI object that looks like these, with the arrow connecting the menu to the button etc. Is this a standard UI component that I should be able to use, or will I have to imitate them by creating a custom object? Thanks for any help.
