  • What is the best jQuery based window plug-in you have ever used?

    I tried a couple of jQuery based window plug-ins but unfortunately was not satisfied with any of them. Here's what I tried: http://hernan.amiune.com/labs/jQuery-Windows-Engine-Plugin/jQuery-Windows-Engine-Plugin.html http://fstoke.me/jquery/window/ http://www.soyos.net/aerowindow-jquery.html I need following features without any compromises: Maximize, minimize (to a reasonable location such as bottom-left corner, not in the middle of the screen), drag, resize, etc. Highly and easily configurable Actively developed (this can be relaxed a little bit) Comes with good documentation (and examples) works cross-browser (I had problems in IE when I tried to use fstoke.me's implementation). The three plug-ins I have tried failed in one or more respects. I'm not looking for very fancy, animated effects, just very basic but yet adequate functionality. Any suggestions?

    i am using datatables api to display data in my asp.net4.0 application; datatables I have one column [ Delete ] to delete the row data.when i click on this link i send a jquery ajax request to delete the row from database. I want to display a message such as [ Deleting record... ] to the end user until data deleted by server side processing. I put a div on my page and write a message [ Deleting record... ] in a div when i click on delete link i display that message but when delete operation complete it also display a message [ Processing... ](which is inbuilt message of datatables) which looks like odd as two message are displaying. What can i do better to display message to the end user.     How do I add a cordova plugin made on 1.6.0 to a 2.2.0 cordova project for iOS? Upgrade the 1.6.0 project to 1.7.0, then 1.8.0 and so on (doesn't feel right)? Or how do I resolve the current callback signature on the new Cordova(2.2.0) that uses "(CDInvokedURL *)command" as parameter instead of (NSDictionary *)options? More specifically, I am trying to add the Calendar Plugin for iOS to a Cordova 2.2.0 project.

    Hello guys, I was hoping someone can shed some light on what might be occurring on my page. Okay what I currently have on my page is a simple form that collects first name, last name, city, state and email. Once submitted it will hit a PHP page that updates our DB and echo's back to the designted div with a class of .response. I am using jquery.validation and placing that dynamic function within the submitHandler like so: submitHandler: function(form) { $(form).ajaxSubmit({ target: '.response', // target element(s) to be updated with server response resetForm: true, success: function() { $('#commentform').hide(); $('.response').show(); } }); So what I am getting is a div that is not being populated with the echo from my php file in FF and in IE I am getting the message of thank you but the page is taking me to the update.php script in which I have the form action pointing to. When i dont set originatingactivityid,campaingresponse is created. Any suggestion about this problem.

    I had a page that works perfectly in IE. Then I added the wonderful jQuery plugin datatables.net to it using this code in DOMReady with this code $('#articlestable-container table').dataTable({ "bPaginate": true, "bLengthChange": false, "bFilter": true, "bSort": false, "bInfo": false, "bAutoWidth": false }); Everything is fine in Webkit and Firefox browsers. See the image. But in IE, the table hides the menu that ideally should come over the table like this. As you can see, the sub-menu gets rendered behind the table. I don't think z-index is the culprit here. The sub-menu has z-index: 9999; anyway. What could be wrong? Any pointers to solve this will be very helpful.

    Twitter will pop down a message bar at the top of the screen say "Wrong password" and after 10 seconds, it will slide up and disappear. Chrome also shows "Do you want to save the password" message box using such a way. Does jQuery have a plug in to do that already? Does it also work in IE 6? Because usually, the display of relative to the viewport (using position: fixed) will not work on IE 6. thanks.

    I'm using jquery with the jquery form plugin. I read through a bunch of posts, the docs, etc., and I'm still having trouble with what I believe to be simple. I have a form with some simple text inputs and a couple textareas, and I have this link that I want to trigger submission of that form to a specific method (/email): <a id="email-data">Send Email</a> and this jquery in doc ready: $('#email-data').click(function() { var options = { url: '/email/', success: alert('Email sent.') }; $('#report-giftcard-sales-form').ajaxSubmit(options); }); So I would expect it to submit to my /email method, but no such luck. Currently I just have the /email method logging a debug message, so it's as simple as can be. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi, I am implementing a scrollable for a portfolio gallery. (scrollable = scrollable plugin from http://flowplayer.org/tools/index.html ) There will be one item visible at a time. By default, scrollable positions the prev/next buttons outside of the image area and clicking on the current image advances the scrollable content. I would like to have the prev/next render within the image area. I would like to have an image caption appear when mousing over the lower part of the image.     I have a function that attaches the jQuery UI DatePicker (with my options) to a passed jQuery object: function bindDatepicker($obj) { if ($obj == null) $obj = $("input.date"); $obj.datepicker( { appendText: '(yyyy-mm-dd)', autoSize: true, changeMonth: true, changeYear: true, closeText: 'Done', dateFormat: 'yy-mm-dd', defaultDate: '+1m', minDate: +1, numberOfMonths: 2 } ); } I call this at the beginning of every page to bind it to input elements: $(function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); This works fine. My problem comes in when I load form elements using $.load(). I cannot attach the DatePicker to any of the loaded elements. For example: $("#id").load("urlToLoad", function() { bindDatepicker($("input.date")); }); Loads the form elements into a div just fine, but will not attach the DatePicker. Why is this?     I'm looking for a jquery plugin that would create an errors div like what twitter has. The div gets added by the plugin, it stays hidden while it doesn't have content, then when a message gets added to it, it appears at the top (with either a close button option or automatic disappear after an x number of seconds). It's not too difficult to write, but there would be no reason to write it if it's already been done before. Anyone knows of a plugin like that?
