    I have some reporting services reports that talk to Analysis Services and at times they fail with the following error: An error occurred during client rendering. An error has occurred during report processing. Query execution failed for dataset 'AccountManagerAccountManager'. The connection cannot be used while an XmlReader object is open. This occurs sometimes when I change selections in the filter. It also occurs when the machine has been under heavy load and then will consistently error until SSAS is restarted.   • Two instances of Windows Vista on boot up after failed clean install

    I tried to install a clean version of Vista but failed. I ended up with Windows and Windows.old on my C: drive and a dual boot option on boot up. I gave up and booted up the old version and tried to rename the Windows.old to Windows and was asked if I wanted to merge the two folders. I answered yes and all seemed OK until I booted up this morning and was given the choice of two versions of Vista. The first one is the one that failed to installed correctly and the second one is the old version. How can I get rid of the failed installation? I got rid of the bad boot via MSCONFIG. Here is my current situation: several hard drives installed Using C: as my boot drive a much larger drive (H:) for storing most of my files. I found a subfolder in my C:\windows folder named windows. Upon inspection I determined it to be older than the C:\windows folder and therefore it must be the older, working version of the boot. I renamed the C:\windows folder to c:\windows.bad and moved the sub windows to the C: root directory. I also copied it to the h: drive. Now MSCONFIG reports that the copy that is booting is the h: copy. How can I change it back to the C:\ copy and can I delete the C:\windows.bad file set?

  • restoring a failed SBS 2000 box...

    Hi there, I read a post where you had mentioned you have had a PERC card blow up on you in an SBS box... I've got a similar situation where one of my RAID drives failed and then the power supply failed before I could replace the drive... I then replaced the power supply and the failed drive and reconfigured the RAID array. I had a recent full backup of the my Win2k SBS's C: drive stored on my SYmantec backup exec server so I installed win2K server on the c: partition and then once I had that up and running, installed the backup exec agent so as to do a restore of the entire c drive including system state. THis all worked just fine, until I had to reboot. I received an "incorrect drive configuration" error and then it hangs. I figure that likely makes sense becasue I think my RAID array is configured slightly different now in that the partitions may be sizeded ever so slightly differently now than they were before I think... Is there a way I can just restore from my backup BUT maybe exclude some of the registry and hidden boot files it wants to restore so that it is booting with the current configuration now active on that machine - not the pre blow up configuration files? I also read a post that indicated you might have to install the exact same service pack etc... etc.. before attemting a restore but that does not make sense to me being as the entire c drive contents are going to be overwritten by the restore anyway? THe basic OS install is just to be able to get the backup exec agent installed . I can;t understand why one would need to install the exact same SP level. CAn you shed some light on what I might be able to do to get this thing up and running? Thanks,Brad

    I'm trying to deploy an MSI via the Group Policy in Active Directory. But these are the errors I'm getting in the System event log after logging in: The assignment of application XStandard from policy install failed. The error was : %%1274 The removal of the assignment of application XStandard from policy install failed. The error was : %%2 Failed to apply changes to software installation settings. The installation of software deployed through Group Policy for this user has been delayed until the next logon because the changes must be applied before the user logon. The error was : %%1274 The Group Policy Client Side Extension Software Installation was unable to apply one or more settings because the changes must be processed before system startup or user logon. The system will wait for Group Policy processing to finish completely before the next startup or logon for this user, and this may result in slow startup and boot performance. When I reboot and log in again I simply get the same messages about needing to perform the update before the next logon. I'm on a Windows Vista 32-bit laptop. I'm rather new to deploying via group policy so what other information would be helpful in determining the issue? I tried a different MSI with the same results. I'm able to install the MSI using the command line and msiexec when logged into the computer, so I know the MSI is working ok at least.

You might experience some performance hit due to that. No IOMMU found. Unable to assign device "(null)" kvm: -device pci-assign,host=07:00.0: Device 'pci-assign' could not be initialized lspci | grep 07 07:00.0 Ethernet controller: 3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado] (rev 74) I shoved an old spare NIC into my motherboard to test PCI pass through. I have searched the Internet with Goolge and found that errors relating to "No IOMMU found" often mean the PCI device is not supported by KVM. Does KVM have to support the device being "passed-through"? I though the point was to pass the device through and let the guest worry about it? Ultimately I want to pass-through a PCI random number generator, is this not going to be possible with KVM? Thank you.

  • VAMT 3.0 Proxy Activate - No ‘Apply Confirmation ID’ option at all

    I tried to activate my windows box in isolated network zone, so I followed the process of 'Scenario 2: Proxy Activation' in http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh825202.aspx using two VAMT 3.0 hosts. Everything went fine (actually I'm not sure what option to choose when exporting VAMT data to .cilx file, I tried 'Export products and product keys' and 'Export proxy activation data only' anyway, is this a cause of this problem, I have no idea), until I wanted to apply the CID and activate the isolated pc. In 'Activate', there is no 'Apply Confirmation ID' option!, its only options are 'Acquire and save confirmation ID only' and 'Acquire confirmation ID, apply to selected machine(s) and activate'. The error message is 'cannot resolve remote name 'go.microsoft.com'' when I chose any of them, looks like acquire confirmation id always need to go to this url. But I just want to apply cid... Has anyone run into this, please? I searched internet, seems no answer... Any suggestion would be appreciated, thank you!

  • Connecting Wii to router to Proxy Server via VPN to BBC iPlayer

    I live in the USA and want to be able to watch UK TV streamed over the web. The relevant services are geographically crippled. I can do this by using a VPN proxy server in the UK, connecting to the VPN service using a straight Windows VPN connection. However, this means I have to watch everything on my PC. The BBC iPlayer works on the Wii in the UK. So, I'd like to connect my Wii to a wireless router (LinkSys WRT54G2) and have that be automatically connected via VPN to my proxy service in the UK. If I can do this then I'd be able to stream UK TV direct to my TV via the Wii. I thought I could have one router act as my VPN connection, connected to a 2nd router that connects to my Cable internet access. But this bit isn't working, any thoughts?

I want to access this proxy over the internet (as an anonymizer) so that I can see how some ads show up for US traffic on my website. I have setup authentication so abuse is not a problem. However, I am not able to access the proxy over the internet. I have set the following rule in squid.conf http_access allow all Is this not possible to do what I want or I am missing something? I need to accept POST request, but I don't want to send the body content to example.com. I would like to send a GET request, but a POST request with Content-Length: 0 would be fine, too. Is it possible, to configure Apache 2 not to promote the request body?

  • Varnish cached 'MISS status' object?

    My site uses nginx, varnish, jboss. And some url will be cached by varnish, it depends a response header from jboss. The first time, jboss tells varnish doesn't cache this url. Then the second request, jboss tells varnish to cache, but varnish won't cache it. I used varnishstat and found that 1 object is cached in Varnish, is that the 'MISS status' object? I remove grace code and the problem still exists. When I PURGE this url, varnish works fine and cache the url then. But I can't PURGE so much urls every startup time, how can I fix this?   • problem with nginx reverse proxy to apache2

    I am trying to setup a reverse proxy system where nginx sits at the front handling all the requests from the internet and apache2 sits at the back handling all the dynamic content. I can setup virtualhost in nginx based on my domains, but because apache2 is listening only on 127.0.0.1:8080 (not outside facing), i'd like to still have virtualhost based on domain (or whatever can be passed from nginx to apache) and change the dynamic content based on it. Basically, I have a nginx config in sites_available and sites_enabled that basically says for location /{proxy_pass http://127.0.0.1:8080/;}. So currently i don't think there is any way of detecting which domain we have on the outside for apache. I am almost exactly following this guide to set it up: http://tumblr.intranation.com/post/766288369/using-nginx-reverse-proxy So code and others are almost the same. Any one have any ideas? Jason

  • Apache Server access log shows another domain's request and got redirected

    I found my apache2 access log (debian) includes some entries not related to my domain and got '301' redirection: ,-,-,[19/Aug/2014:10:09:54 +0800],"GET /admin.php HTTP/1.0",301,493,,, ,-,-,[19/Aug/2014:10:09:55 +0800],"GET /administrator/index.php HTTP/1.0",301,521,,, ,-,-,[19/Aug/2014:10:09:55 +0800],"GET /wp-login.php HTTP/1.0",301,499,,, Obviously those requests are not to my domain, but from this source, debian will default deny all proxy request: https://wiki.apache.org/httpd/ClientDeniedByServerConfiguration Besides, I cannot find there is mod_proxy under /etc/apache2/mods-enabled. I am anxious about: 1. is the server acting as open proxy? 2. why http 301 is returned? Thx.

  • archiva/jetty with nginx ssl proxy: getting http responses

    I've been banging my head against this for awhile now. I have an archiva repository server I'm trying to proxy through nginx with ssl offloading. archiva has a jetty server built in that is listening on port 8008 of the localhost. I'm able to get to the archiva server through the proxy, but it wants to return http responses and not https responses. I thought that setting the following headers was supposed to tell the server to respond with https: proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-For $proxy_add_x_forwarded_for; proxy_set_header X-Forwarded-Proto https; proxy_redirect off; I also tried "proxy_redirect default;". It seems that the jetty/archiva server is not recognizing these or there needs to be something more. I've been scouring forums and as far as I can tell, everything is set as it should be. I'm not sure where else to check at this point. Has anyone had any success with this?
