  • How to keep alive an HttpModule (a.k.a register it as a singleton)

    I pretty sure I've seen this somewhere but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I have an HttpModule that can be used across multiple requests. In other words instead of creating a new instance of the Module on every request it only ever needs to create it once. Does this ring a bell to anyone? If so, what's the method for configuring to work this way?

  • Mimic Windows' 'Run' window in .NET

    I would like to mimic the Run command in Windows in my program. In other words, I would like to give the user the ability to "run" an arbitrary piece of text exactly as would happen if they typed it into the run box. While System.Diagnostics.Process.Start() gets me close, I can't seem to get certain things like environment variables such as %AppData% working. I just keep getting the message "Windows cannot find '%AppData%'..."

  • JavaScript find box

    I'd like to duplicate the find feature (Ctrl-F in Firefox) for my users. In other words, a text box that as the user types, it finds the first occurrence of that text, and if they press "Next", it highlights the next occurrence and moves the page if necessary. I'm thinking the search input would have to be in a div that remained fixed, and as it found what it was looking for, would insert a named anchor just before it and then follow the hyperlink. Do you think this can be done?

    I have a gridview with edit option at the start of the row. Also I maintain a seperate table called Permission where I maintain user permissions. I have three different types of permissions like Admin, Leads, Programmers. These all three will have access to the gridview. Except admin if anyone tries to edit the gridview on clicking the edit option, I need to give an alert like This row has important validation and make sure you make proper changes. When I edit, the action with happen on table called Application. The table has a column called Comments. Also the alert should happen only when they try to edit rows where the Comments column have these values in them.     Can someone explain to me in plain English what SIP trunking is, please? I've read about it on Google, but I don't really grasp it yet. Does it allow a VoIP call to be placed outside of the LAN? Somethin like > .*? (at \w+)+.* gives just Boston in s1 (Downtown is missed). it just matches the first "at" Any suggestions

  • Word 2007 macros: is there an OnPrint event I can attach a macro to?

    I'm looking to do a formatting check on word files before they get sent to the printer and it needs to be completely transparent to the user (no extra controls, just using the standard print options available through the UI). Is there an OnPrint or BeforePrint event, or something that can be used in that respect which I could attach a macro to, the same way I can with Open, Close, or Save? This feels like it should be simple... but those are famous last words. Thanks in advance, Rob
