  I know that title sounds crazy but here is my situation. After a certain user event I need to update a couple tables that are "unrelated" to what the user is currently doing. Currently this takes a couple seconds to execute and causes the user a certain amount of frustration.   Hello, i am using the Eclipse RCP trayitem, which is described in Vogellas tutorials here: http://www.vogella.de/articles/RichClientPlatform/article.html#systemtray The requirement now is not only to show the name of the app in the tooltip but also a percentage while doing lengthy operations. I understand that the trayitem attribute is a private from ApplicationWorkbenchWindowAdvisor, so I added a getter and setter method. The only thing missing is a possibility to access the trayitem instance from my ProgressMonitorDialog instance. Can you tell me, how you would solve this puzzle? Thanks

• When does a PHP script end?

  In my mind, a web app something that runs continuously; therefore, I'm confused by documentation pages that talk about the "end" of a PHP script (eg this one). Such references seem to refer to the end of each web request, but if the script ends there, doesn't that mean that the OS has to setup a whole new process for each request? That seems unlikely, because spinning up a whole new process is expensive, and be very inefficient for the whole site.

My settings.py file looks like: MEDIA_ROOT = os.path.join(os.path.abspath(os.path.dirname(__file__)), 'media') MEDIA_URL = '/media/' I've got the CSS files in /mysite/media/css/ and the template code contains: <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="/media/css/site_base.css" />` then, in the url.py file I have: # DEVELOPMENT ONLY (r'^media/(?P<path>.*)$', 'django.views.static.serve', {'document_root': '/media'}), but the development server serves the plain html (without styles). What am I doing wrong?

I'm starting up on a Sun Java 1.4.2 JVM with the following flags: -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCDetails The log output looks like this: 54.736: [Full GC 54.737: [Tenured: 172798K->18092K(174784K), 2.3792658 secs] 257598K->18092K(259584K), [Perm : 20476K->20476K(20480K)], 2.4715398 secs] Making sense of a few hundred of these kinds of log entries would be much easier if I had a tool that would visually graph garbage collection trends.

• Accessing curl executable from Program files?

  I have built an application which uses user executable through WScript com object. Now the main program is located in C:\Program files\Myapp Curl executable is located in C:\Curl But it looks like my application is unable to execute curl if main application is in Program files. If i move it to another location it can execute curl nicely. Problem occurs only on Windows Xp on Vista and Win7 it works perfectly. Is there any special permissions i have to give to my app or what?
