  • Help with Silverlight Sockets and Message delivery

    - by pixel3cs
    There are 4 months since I stopped developing my Silverlight Multiplayer Chess game. The problem was a bug wich I couldn't reproduce. Sice I got some free time this week I managed to discover the problem and I am now able to reproduce the bug. It seems that if I send 10 messages from client, one after another, with no delay between them, just like in the below example // when I press Enter, the client will 10 messages with no delay between them private void textBox_KeyDown(object sender, KeyEventArgs e) { if (e.Key == Key.Enter && textBox.Text.Length > 0) { for (int i = 0; i < 10; i++) { MessageBuilder mb = new MessageBuilder(); mb.Writer.Write((byte)GameCommands.NewChatMessageInTable); mb.Writer.Write(string.Format("{0}{2}: {1}", ClientVars.PlayerNickname, textBox.Text, i)); SendChatMessageEvent(mb.GetMessage()); //System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(100); } textBox.Text = string.Empty; } } // the method used by client to send a message to server public void SendData(Message message) { if (socket.Connected) { SocketAsyncEventArgs myMsg = new SocketAsyncEventArgs(); myMsg.RemoteEndPoint = socket.RemoteEndPoint; byte[] buffer = message.Buffer; myMsg.SetBuffer(buffer, 0, buffer.Length); socket.SendAsync(myMsg); } else { string err = "Server does not respond. You are disconnected."; socket.Close(); uiContext.Post(this.uiClient.ProcessOnErrorData, err); } } // the method used by server to receive data from client private void OnDataReceived(IAsyncResult async) { ClientSocketPacket client = async.AsyncState as ClientSocketPacket; int count = 0; try { if (client.Socket.Connected) count = client.Socket.EndReceive(async); // THE PROBLEM IS HERE // IF SERVER WAS RECEIVE ALL MESSAGES SEPARATELY, ONE BY ONE, THE COUNT // WAS ALWAYS 15, BUT BECAUSE THE SERVER RECEIVE 3 MESSAGES IN 1, THE COUNT // IS SOMETIME 45 } catch { HandleException(client); } client.MessageStream.Write(client.Buffer, 0, count); Message message; while (client.MessageStream.Read(out message)) { message.Tag = client; ThreadPool.QueueUserWorkItem(new WaitCallback(this.processingThreadEvent.ServerGotData), message); totalReceivedBytes += message.Buffer.Length; } try { if (client.Socket.Connected) client.Socket.BeginReceive(client.Buffer, 0, client.Buffer.Length, 0, new AsyncCallback(OnDataReceived), client); } catch { HandleException(client); } } there are sent only 3 big messages, and every big message contain 3 or 4 small messages. This is not the behavior I want. If I put a 100 milliseconds delay between message delivery, everything is work fine, but in a real world scenario users can send messages to server even at 1 millisecond between them. Are there any settings to be done in order to make the client send only one message at a time, or Even if I receive 3 messages in 1, are they full messages all the time (I dont't want to receive 2.5 messages in one big message) ? because if they are, I can read them and treat this new situation

  • Entity Framework RC1 DbContext query issue

    - by Steve
    I'm trying to implement the repository pattern using entity framework code first rc 1. The problem I am running into is with creating the DbContext. I have an ioc container resolving the IRepository and it has a contextprovider which just news up a new DbContext with a connection string in a windsor.config file. With linq2sql this part was no problem but EF seems to be choking. I'll describe the problem below with an example. I've pulled out the code to simplify things a bit so that is why you don't see any repository pattern stuff here. just sorta what is happening without all the extra code and classes. using (var context = new PlssContext()) { var x = context.Set<User>(); var y = x.Where(u => u.UserName == LogOnModel.UserName).FirstOrDefault(); } using (var context2 = new DbContext(@"Data Source=.\SQLEXPRESS;Initial Catalog=PLSS.Models.PlssContext;Integrated Security=True;MultipleActiveResultSets=True")) { var x = context2.Set<User>(); var y = x.Where(u => u.UserName == LogOnModel.UserName).FirstOrDefault(); } PlssContext is where I am creating my DbContext class. The repository pattern doesn't know anything about PlssContext. The best I thought I could do was create a DbContext with the connection string to the sqlexpress database and query the data that way. The connection string in the var context2 was grabbed from the context after newing up the PlssContext object. So they are pointing at the same sqlexpress database. The first query works. The second query fails miserably with this error: The model backing the 'DbContext' context has changed since the database was created. Either manually delete/update the database, or call Database.SetInitializer with an IDatabaseInitializer instance. For example, the DropCreateDatabaseIfModelChanges strategy will automatically delete and recreate the database, and optionally seed it with new data. on this line var y = x.Where(u => u.UserName == LogOnModel.UserName).FirstOrDefault(); Here is my DbContext namespace PLSS.Models { public class PlssContext : DbContext { public DbSet<User> Users { get; set; } public DbSet<Corner> Corners { get; set; } public DbSet<Lookup_County> Lookup_County { get; set; } public DbSet<Lookup_Accuracy> Lookup_Accuracy { get; set; } public DbSet<Lookup_MonumentStatus> Lookup_MonumentStatus { get; set; } public DbSet<Lookup_CoordinateSystem> Lookup_CoordinateSystem { get; set; } public class Initializer : DropCreateDatabaseAlways<PlssContext> { protected override void Seed(PlssContext context) { I've tried all of the Initializer strategies with the same errors. I don't think the database is changing. If I remove the modelBuilder.Conventions.Remove<IncludeMetadataConvention>(); Then the error returns is The entity type User is not part of the model for the current context. Which sort of makes sense. But how do you bring this all together?

  • Generated LinqtoSql Sql 5x slower than SAME EXACT hand-written sql

    - by JasonM
    I have a sql statement which is hardcoded in an existing VB6 app. I'm upgrading a new version in C# and using Linq To Sql. I was able to get LinqToSql to generate the same sql (before I start refactoring), but for some reason the Sql generated by LinqToSql is 5x slower than the original sql. This is running the generated Sql Directly in LinqPad. The only real difference my meager sql eyes can spot is the WITH (NOLOCK), which if I add into the LinqToSql generated sql, makes no difference. Can someone point out what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks! Existing Hard Coded Sql (5.0 Seconds) SELECT DISTINCT CH.ClaimNum, CH.AcnProvID, CH.AcnPatID, CH.TinNum, CH.Diag1, CH.GroupNum, CH.AllowedTotal FROM Claims.dbo.T_ClaimsHeader AS CH WITH (NOLOCK) WHERE CH.ContractID IN ('123A','123B','123C','123D','123E','123F','123G','123H') AND ( ( (CH.Transmited Is Null or CH.Transmited = '') AND CH.DateTransmit Is Null AND CH.EobDate Is Null AND CH.ProcessFlag IN ('Y','E') AND CH.DataSource NOT IN ('A','EC','EU') AND CH.AllowedTotal > 0 ) ) ORDER BY CH.AcnPatID, CH.ClaimNum Generated Sql from LinqToSql (27.6 Seconds) -- Region Parameters DECLARE @p0 NVarChar(4) SET @p0 = '123A' DECLARE @p1 NVarChar(4) SET @p1 = '123B' DECLARE @p2 NVarChar(4) SET @p2 = '123C' DECLARE @p3 NVarChar(4) SET @p3 = '123D' DECLARE @p4 NVarChar(4) SET @p4 = '123E' DECLARE @p5 NVarChar(4) SET @p5 = '123F' DECLARE @p6 NVarChar(4) SET @p6 = '123G' DECLARE @p7 NVarChar(4) SET @p7 = '123H' DECLARE @p8 VarChar(1) SET @p8 = '' DECLARE @p9 NVarChar(1) SET @p9 = 'Y' DECLARE @p10 NVarChar(1) SET @p10 = 'E' DECLARE @p11 NVarChar(1) SET @p11 = 'A' DECLARE @p12 NVarChar(2) SET @p12 = 'EC' DECLARE @p13 NVarChar(2) SET @p13 = 'EU' DECLARE @p14 Decimal(5,4) SET @p14 = 0 -- EndRegion SELECT DISTINCT [t0].[ClaimNum], [t0].[acnprovid] AS [AcnProvID], [t0].[acnpatid] AS [AcnPatID], [t0].[tinnum] AS [TinNum], [t0].[diag1] AS [Diag1], [t0].[GroupNum], [t0].[allowedtotal] AS [AllowedTotal] FROM [Claims].[dbo].[T_ClaimsHeader] AS [t0] WHERE ([t0].[contractid] IN (@p0, @p1, @p2, @p3, @p4, @p5, @p6, @p7)) AND (([t0].[Transmited] IS NULL) OR ([t0].[Transmited] = @p8)) AND ([t0].[DATETRANSMIT] IS NULL) AND ([t0].[EOBDATE] IS NULL) AND ([t0].[PROCESSFLAG] IN (@p9, @p10)) AND (NOT ([t0].[DataSource] IN (@p11, @p12, @p13))) AND ([t0].[allowedtotal] > @p14) ORDER BY [t0].[acnpatid], [t0].[ClaimNum] New LinqToSql Code (30+ seconds...   • Delay in displaying contents in JDialog

    - by Yohan
    Please have a look at the following code import java.awt.*; import java.awt.event.*; import javax.swing.*; import java.util.List; import java.util.ArrayList; public class SendEmailForm extends JDialog { private JLabel to, cc, bcc, subject, account; private JTextField toTxt, ccTxt, bccTxt, subjectTxt; private JTextArea messageTxt; private JButton send; private JComboBox accountBox; private JScrollPane scroll; private GridBagLayout gbl; private GridBagConstraints gbc; public SendEmailForm() { //Declaring instance variables to = new JLabel("To: "); cc = new JLabel("CC: "); bcc = new JLabel("BCC: "); subject = new JLabel("Subject: "); account = new JLabel("Select an Account: "); toTxt = new JTextField(20); ccTxt = new JTextField(20); bccTxt = new JTextField(20); subjectTxt = new JTextField(20); messageTxt = new JTextArea(20, 50); messageTxt.setLineWrap(true); scroll = new JScrollPane(messageTxt); scroll.setVerticalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.VERTICAL_SCROLLBAR_AS_NEEDED); scroll.setHorizontalScrollBarPolicy(JScrollPane.HORIZONTAL_SCROLLBAR_NEVER); accountBox = new JComboBox(); accountBox.addItem("Yahoo"); accountBox.addItem("GMail"); accountBox.addItem("MSN"); //accountBox.addItem("Yahoo"); //accountBox.addItem("Yahoo"); JPanel buttonPanel = new JPanel(); buttonPanel.setLayout(new FlowLayout()); send = new JButton("Send"); send.addActionListener(new SendButtonAction()); buttonPanel.add(send); //Creating thr GUI //GUI CREATION IS REMOVED IN THIS POST this.setTitle("Send Emails"); this.setVisible(true); this.pack(); this.setLocationRelativeTo(null); this.validate(); } private class SendButtonAction implements ActionListener { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) { ProgressMonitor pm = new ProgressMonitor(); //Retreiving the user name and password List userData = new ArrayList(); EmailDBConnector emailCon = new EmailDBHandler(); userData = emailCon.getUserNameAndPassword( accountBox.getSelectedItem().toString().trim()); String userName = userData.get(0).toString(); String password = userData.get(1).toString(); System.out.println(userName); System.out.println(password); pm.setVisible(true); SendEmail sendEmail = new SendEmail(toTxt.getText(), userName.trim(), bccTxt.getText(), ccTxt.getText(), accountBox.getSelectedItem().toString().trim(), messageTxt.getText().trim(), password.trim(), subjectTxt.getText()); String result = sendEmail.send(); //pm.dispose(); JOptionPane.showMessageDialog(null, result); } } private class ProgressMonitor extends JDialog { public ProgressMonitor() { this.setLayout(new BorderLayout()); JLabel text = new JLabel("Sending..Please wait..."); this.add(text, "Center"); this.pack(); this.validate(); this.setLocationRelativeTo(null); } } } First, this is an email program. In here, when the JDialog is called, it just opens as a 100% blank window. I have added a JLabel, but it is not there when it is displaying. Anyway, it takes sometime to send the email, after the email is sent, I can see the JLabel in the JDialog. If I take my issue into one sentence, I am calling the JDialog before the email is sent, but it appears blank, after the email is sent, it's content are there! Why is this? Please help!

  • ASP.NET MVC - Form Post always redirect when I just want to bind json result to a div

    - by Saxman
    Hi all, I'm having a little problem with json result. I'm submitting a contact form, and after the submission, I just want to return some json data (indicating either a success or failed and displays a message) back to the view, without causing a redirect, but it kept redirecting me to the action, here are the codes: HTML <div id="contactForm2" class="grid_6"> <div id="contactFormContainer"> @using (Html.BeginForm(MVC.Home.ActionNames.ContactForm, MVC.Home.Name, FormMethod.Post, new { id = "contactForm" })) { <p> <input type="text" tabindex="1" size="22" value="" id="contactName" class="text_input required" name="contactName" /> <label for="contactName"> <strong class="leftSpace">Your Name (required)</strong></label></p> <p> <input type="text" tabindex="2" size="22" value="" id="contactEmail" class="text_input required" name="contactEmail" /> <label for="contactEmail"> <strong class="leftSpace">Email (required)</strong></label></p> <p> <input type="text" tabindex="2" size="22" value="" id="contactPhone" class="text_input" name="contactPhone" /> <label for="contactPhone"> <strong class="leftSpace">Phone</strong></label></p> <p> <label> <strong class="leftSpace n">Message (required)</strong></label> <textarea tabindex="4" rows="4" cols="56" id="contactMessage" class="text_area required" name="contactMessage"></textarea></p> <p> <input type="submit" value="Send" tabindex="5" id="contactSubmit" class="button submit" name="contactSubmit" /></p> } </div> <div id="contactFormStatus"> </div> </div> Controller [HttpPost] public virtual JsonResult ContactForm(FormCollection formCollection) { var name = formCollection["contactName"]; var email = formCollection["contactEmail"]; var phone = formCollection["contactPhone"]; var message = formCollection["contactMessage"]; if (string.IsNullOrEmpty(name) || string.IsNullOrEmpty(email) || string.IsNullOrEmpty(message)) { return Json(new { success = false, message = "Please complete all the required fields so that I can get back to you. Thanks." }); } // Insert contact form data here... return Json(new { success = true, message = "Your inquery has been sent. Thank you." }); } javascript $(document).ready(function () { $('#contactSubmit').live('click', function () { var form = $('#contactForm'); var formData = form.serialize(); $.post('/Home/ContactForm', formData, function (result) { var status = $('#contactFormStatus'); if (result.success) { $('#contactForm')[0].reset; } status.append(result.message); }, 'json' ); return false; }); }); I've also tried this javascript, but also got a redirect $(document).ready(function () { $('#contactSubmit').live('click', function () { var form = $('#contactForm'); var formData = form.serialize(); $.ajax({ type: 'POST', url: '/Home/ContactForm', data: formData, success: function (result) { SubmitContactResult(result); }, cache: false }); }); function SubmitContactResult(result) { var status = $('#contactFormStatus'); if (result.success) { $('#contactForm')[0].reset; } status.append(result.message); } }); Any idea what's going on with my code? Thank you very much.

  • Delphi7 - How can i copy a file that is being written to

    - by Simon
    I have an application that logs information to a daily text file every second on a master PC. A Slave PC on the network using the same application would like to copy this text file to its local drive. I can see there is going to be file access issues. These files should be no larger than 30-40MB each. the network will be 100MB ethernet. I can see there is potential for the copying process to take longer than 1 second meaning the logging PC will need to open the file for writing while it is being read. What is the best method for the file writing(logging) and file copying procedures? I know there is the standard Windows CopyFile() procedure, however this has given me file access problems. There is also TFileStream using the fmShareDenyNone flag, but this also very occasionally gives me an access problem too (like 1 per week). What is this the best way of accomplishing this task? My current File Logging: procedure FSWriteline(Filename,Header,s : String); var LogFile : TFileStream; line : String; begin if not FileExists(filename) then begin LogFile := TFileStream.Create(FileName, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); try LogFile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); line := Header + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); line := s + #13#10; LogFile.Write(line[1],Length(line)); finally logfile.Free; end; end else begin line := s + #13#10; Logfile:=tfilestream.Create(Filename,fmOpenWrite or fmShareDenyNone); try logfile.Seek(0,soFromEnd); Logfile.Write(line[1], length(line)); finally Logfile.free; end; end; end; My file copy procedure: procedure DoCopy(infile, Outfile : String); begin ForceDirectories(ExtractFilePath(outfile)); //ensure folder exists if FileAge(inFile) = FileAge(OutFile) then Exit; //they are the same modified time try { Open existing destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(Outfile, fmOpenReadWrite or fmShareDenyNone); fo.Position := 0; except { otherwise Create destination } fo := TFileStream.Create(OutFile, fmCreate or fmShareDenyNone); end; try { open source } fi := TFileStream.Create(InFile, fmOpenRead or fmShareDenyNone); try cnt:= 0; fi.Position := cnt; max := fi.Size; {start copying } Repeat dod := BLOCKSIZE; // Block size if cnt+dod>max then dod := max-cnt; if dod>0 then did := fo.CopyFrom(fi, dod); cnt:=cnt+did; Percent := Round(Cnt/Max*100); until (dod=0) finally fi.free; end; finally fo.free; end; end;

  • Advanced Regex: Smart auto detect and replace URLs with anchor tags

    - by Robert Koritnik
    I've written a regular expression that automatically detects URLs in free text that users enter. This is not such a simple task as it may seem at first. Jeff Atwood writes about it in his post. His regular expression works, but needs extra code after detection is done. I've managed to write a regular expression that does everything in a single go. This is how it looks like (I've broken it down into separate lines to make it more understandable what it does): 1 (?<outer>\()? 2 (?<scheme>http(?<secure>s)?://)? 3 (?<url> 4 (?(scheme) 5 (?:www\.)? 6 | 7 www\. 8 ) 9 [a-z0-9] 10 (?(outer) 11 [-a-z0-9/+&@#/%?=~_()|!:,.;cšžcd]+(?=\)) 12 | 13 [-a-z0-9/+&@#/%?=~_()|!:,.;cšžcd]+ 14 ) 15 ) 16 (?<ending>(?(outer)\))) As you may see, I'm using named capture groups (used later in Regex.Replace()) and I've also included some local characters (cšžcd), that allow our localised URLs to be parsed as well. You can easily omit them if you'd like. Anyway. Here's what it does (referring to line numbers): 1 - detects if URL starts with open braces (is contained inside braces) and stores it in "outer" named capture group 2 - checks if it starts with URL scheme also detecting whether scheme is SSL or not 3 - start parsing URL itself (will store it in "url" named capture group) 4-8 - if statement that says: if "sheme" was present then www. part is optional, otherwise mandatory for a string to be a link (so this regular expression detects all strings that start with either http or www) 9 - first character after http:// or www. should be either a letter or a number (this can be extended if you'd like to cover even more links, but I've decided not to because I can't think of a link that would start with some obscure character) 10-14 - if statement that says: if "outer" (braces) was present capture everything up to the last closing braces otherwise capture all 15 - closes the named capture group for URL 16 - if open braces were present, capture closing braces as well and store it in "ending" named capture group First and last line used to have \s* in them as well, so user could also write open braces and put a space inside before pasting link. Anyway. My code that does link replacement with actual anchor HTML elements looks exactly like this: value = Regex.Replace( value, @"(?<outer>\()?(?<scheme>http(?<secure>s)?://)?(?<url>(?(scheme)(?:www\.)?|www\.)[a-z0-9](?(outer)[-a-z0-9/+&@#/%?=~_()|!:,.;cšžcd]+(?=\))|[-a-z0-9/+&@#/%?=~_()|!:,.;cšžcd]+))(?<ending>(?(outer)\)))", "${outer}<a href=\"http${secure}://${url}\">http${secure}://${url}</a>${ending}", RegexOptions.Compiled | RegexOptions.CultureInvariant | RegexOptions.IgnoreCase); As you can see I'm using named capture groups to replace link with an Anchor tag: "${outer}<a href=\"http${secure}://${url}\">http${secure}://${url}</a>${ending}" I could as well omit the http(s) part in anchor display to make links look friendlier, but for now I decided not to. Question I would like my links to be replaced with shortenings as well. So when user copies a very long link (for instance if they would copy a link from google maps that usually generates long links) I would like to shorten the visible part of the anchor tag. Link would work, but visible part of an anchor tag would be shortened to some number of characters. I could as well append ellipsis at the end of at all possible (and make things even more perfect). Does Regex.Replace() method support replacement notations so that I can still use a single call? Something similar as string.Format() method does when you'd like to format values in string format (decimals, dates etc...).

  • PHP - DOM class - numbered entities and encodings problem

    - by user343607
    Hi guys, I'm having some difficult with PHP DOM class. I am making a sitemap script, and I need the output of $doc-saveXML() to be like <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> or <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&#231;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> but I am getting: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&amp;#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> This is the closet I could get, using a replace named to numbered entities function. I was also able to reproduce <?xml version="1.0" ?> <root> <url> <loc>http://www.somesite.com/servi&amp;#xE7;os/redesign</loc> </url> </root> But without the encoding specified. The best solution (the way I think the code should be written) would be: <?php $myArray = array(); // do some stuff to populate the with URL strings $doc = new DOMDocument('1.0', 'UTF-8'); // here we modify some property. Maybe is the answer I am looking for... $urlset = doc->createElement("urlset"); $urlset = $doc->appendChild($urlset); foreach($myArray as $address) { $url = $doc->createElement("url"); $url = $urlset->appendChild($url); $loc = $doc->createElement("loc"); $loc = $url->appendChild($loc); $valueContent = $doc->createTextNode($value); $valueContent = $loc->appendChild($address); } echo $doc->saveXML(); ?> Notes: Server response header contains charset as UTF-8; PHP script is saved in UTF-8; URLs read are UTF-8 strings; Above script contains encoding declaration on DOMDocument constructor, and does not use any convert functions, like htmlentities, urlencode, utf8_encode... I've tried changing the DOMDocument properties DOMDocument::$resolveExternals and DOMDocument::$substituteEntities values. None combinations worked. And yes, I know I can made all process without specifying the character set on DOMDocument constructor, dump string content into a variable and make a very simple string substitution with string replace functions. This works. But I would like to know where I am slipping, how can this be made using native API's and settings, or even if this is possible. Thanks in advance.

The problem goes here:- 1) I have declared a structure above and its object as array(buck[]). 2) Now when I declare this object array along with the structure, it works fine.. I have commented this thing right now. 3) But when I declare this object array inside the function.. because ultimately i have to declare inside function( as i need to build a recursive program, where objects will be created in very recursive call) then the program is throwing segmentation fault. Expected Output > [others@centos htdocs]$ ./a.out > Strings: able aback a abet acid yawn > yard yarn year yoke > ****** 0 ****** > a = able aback a abet acid > b = > c > . > . > y = yawn yard yarnyear yoke > z = Actual Output [others@centos htdocs]$ ./a.out Strings: able aback a abet acid yawn yard yarn year yoke Segmentation fault I have no idea, what difference I made in this. Kindly help. Thanks.

  • About global.asax and the events there

    - by eski
    So what i'm trying to understand is the whole global.asax events. I doing a simple counter that records website visits. I am using MSSQL. Basicly i have two ints. totalNumberOfUsers - The total visist from begining. currentNumberOfUsers - Total of users viewing the site at the moment. So the way i understand global.asax events is that every time someone comes to the site "Session_Start" is fired once. So once per user. "Application_Start" is fired only once the first time someone comes to the site. Going with this i have my global.asax file here. <script runat="server"> string connectionstring = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["ConnectionString1"].ConnectionString; void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs on application startup Application.Lock(); Application["currentNumberOfUsers"] = 0; Application.UnLock(); string sql = "Select c_hit from v_counter where (id=1)"; SqlConnection connect = new SqlConnection(connectionstring); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(sql, connect); cmd.Connection.Open(); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader(); while (reader.Read()) { Application.Lock(); Application["totalNumberOfUsers"] = reader.GetInt32(0); Application.UnLock(); } reader.Close(); cmd.Connection.Close(); } void Application_End(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs on application shutdown } void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs when an unhandled error occurs } void Session_Start(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs when a new session is started Application.Lock(); Application["totalNumberOfUsers"] = (int)Application["totalNumberOfUsers"] + 1; Application["currentNumberOfUsers"] = (int)Application["currentNumberOfUsers"] + 1; Application.UnLock(); string sql = "UPDATE v_counter SET c_hit = @hit WHERE c_type = 'totalNumberOfUsers'"; SqlConnection connect = new SqlConnection(connectionstring); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(sql, connect); SqlParameter hit = new SqlParameter("@hit", SqlDbType.Int); hit.Value = Application["totalNumberOfUsers"]; cmd.Parameters.Add(hit); cmd.Connection.Open(); cmd.ExecuteNonQuery(); cmd.Connection.Close(); } void Session_End(object sender, EventArgs e) { // Code that runs when a session ends. // Note: The Session_End event is raised only when the sessionstate mode // is set to InProc in the Web.config file. If session mode is set to StateServer // or SQLServer, the event is not raised. Application.Lock(); Application["currentNumberOfUsers"] = (int)Application["currentNumberOfUsers"] - 1; Application.UnLock(); } </script> In the page_load i have this protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { l_current.Text = Application["currentNumberOfUsers"].ToString(); l_total.Text = Application["totalNumberOfUsers"].ToString(); } So if i understand this right, every time someone comes to the site both the currentNumberOfUsers and totalNumberOfUsers are incremented with 1. But when the session is over the currentNumberOfUsers is decremented with 1. If i go to the site with 3 types of browsers with the same computer i should have 3 in hits on both counters. Doing this again after hours i should have 3 in current and 6 in total, right ? The way its working right now is the current goes up to 2 and the total is incremented on every postback on IE and Chrome but not on firefox. And one last thing, is this the same thing ? Application["value"] = 0; value = Application["value"] //OR Application.Set("Value", 0); Value = Application.Get("Value");

  • ViewPager and Fragment Pager adapter implementation

    - by Rohit Deshmukh
    So I am trying to implement sliding views/fragments using viewpager and fragment pager adapter. convert_home is my main xml file that has android.support.v4.view.PagerTitleStrip and temperature.xml and velocity.xml are my two other views. I have no clue where I am going wrong. package app.converto; import android.os.Bundle; import android.support.v4.app.Fragment; import android.support.v4.app.FragmentActivity; import android.support.v4.app.FragmentManager; import android.support.v4.app.FragmentPagerAdapter; import android.support.v4.view.ViewPager; import android.view.LayoutInflater; import android.view.Menu; import android.view.View; import android.view.ViewGroup; import android.widget.TextView; public class ConverTo extends FragmentActivity { SectionsPagerAdapter mSectionsPagerAdapter; ViewPager mViewPager; @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); mSectionsPagerAdapter = new SectionsPagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager()); mViewPager.setAdapter(mSectionsPagerAdapter); setContentView(R.layout.converto_home); mViewPager = (ViewPager) findViewById(R.id.pager); } @Override public boolean onCreateOptionsMenu(Menu menu) { getMenuInflater().inflate(R.menu.converto_home, menu); return true; } public class SectionsPagerAdapter extends FragmentPagerAdapter { public SectionsPagerAdapter(FragmentManager fm) { super(fm); } @Override public Fragment getItem(int i) { switch(i){ case 0: Fragment1 fragment = new Fragment1(); return fragment; case 1: Fragment2 fragment2 = new Fragment2(); return fragment2; } defaultFragment fragment3 = new defaultFragment(); return fragment3; } @Override public int getCount() { return 2; } // // @Override // public CharSequence getPageTitle(int position) { // switch (position) { // case 0: return getString(R.string.velocity); // case 1: return getString(R.string.temperature); // case 2: return getString(R.string.distance); // } // return null; // } } public static class Fragment1 extends Fragment{ public Fragment1(){ } @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); } @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { //return inflater.inflate(R.layout.temperature, container, false); View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.temperature, container, false); TextView textView = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.sample); textView.setText(getArguments().getString("title")); return view; } } public static class Fragment2 extends Fragment{ public Fragment2(){ } @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); } @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { //return inflater.inflate(R.layout.velocity, container, false); View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.temperature, container, false); TextView textView = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.sample); textView.setText(getArguments().getString("title")); return view; } } public static class defaultFragment extends Fragment{ public defaultFragment(){ }//end constructor @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); } @Override public View onCreateView(LayoutInflater inflater, ViewGroup container, Bundle savedInstanceState) { // return inflater.inflate(R.layout.temperature, container, false); View view = inflater.inflate(R.layout.temperature, container, false); TextView textView = (TextView) view.findViewById(R.id.sample); textView.setText(getArguments().getString("title")); return view; }//end oncreate }//end default fragment }

  • Is asp.net caching my sql results?

    - by Christian W
    I have the following method in an App_Code/Globals.cs file: public static XmlDataSource getXmlSourceFromOrgid(int orgid) { XmlDataSource xds = new XmlDataSource(); var ctx = new SensusDataContext(); SqlConnection c = new SqlConnection(ctx.Connection.ConnectionString); c.Open(); SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(String.Format("select orgid, tekst, dbo.GetOrgTreeXML({0}) as Subtree from tblOrg where OrgID = {0}", orgid), c); var rdr = cmd.ExecuteReader(); rdr.Read(); StringBuilder sb = new StringBuilder(); sb.AppendFormat("&lt;node orgid=\"{0}\" tekst=\"{1}\"&gt;",rdr.GetInt32(0),rdr.GetString(1)); sb.Append(rdr.GetString(2)); sb.Append("&lt;/node&gt;"); xds.Data = sb.ToString(); xds.ID = "treedata"; rdr.Close(); c.Close(); return xds; } This gives me an XML-structure to use with the asp.net treeview control (I also use the CssFriendly extender to get nicer code) My problem is that if I logon on my pc with a code that gives me access on a lower level in the tree hierarchy (it's an orgianization hierarchy), it somehow "remembers" what level i logon at. So when my coworker tests from her computer with another code, giving access to another place in the tree, she get's the same tree as me. (The tree is supposed to show your own level and down.) I have added a html-comment to show what orgid it passes to the function, and the orgid passed is correct. So either the treeview caches something serverside, or the sqlquery caches it's result somehow... Any ideas? Sql function: ALTER function [dbo].[GetOrgTreeXML](@orgid int) returns XML begin RETURN (select org.orgid as '@orgid', org.tekst as '@tekst', [dbo].GetOrgTreeXML(org.orgid) from tblOrg org where (@orgid is null and Eier is null) or Eier=@orgid for XML PATH('NODE'), TYPE) end Extra code as requested: int orgid = int.Parse(Session["org"].ToString()); string orgname = context.Orgs.Where(q => q.OrgID == orgid).First().Tekst; debuglit.Text = String.Format("<!-- Id: {0} \n name: {1} -->", orgid, orgname); var orgxml = Globals.getXmlSourceFromOrgid(orgid); tvNavtree.DataSource = orgxml; tvNavtree.DataBind(); Where "debuglit" is a asp:Literal in the aspx file. EDIT: I have narrowed it down. All functions returns correct values. It just doesn't bind to it. I suspect the CssFriendly adapter to have something to do with it. I disabled the CssFriendly adapter and the problem persists... Stepping through it in debug it's correct all the way, with the stepper standing on "tvNavtree.DataBind();" I can hover the pointer over the tvNavtree.Datasource and see that it actually has the correct data. So something must be faulting in the binding process...

    So it is my first real Android program (!hello world), but i do have java experience.The program compiles fine, but on running it crashes as soon as it opens (tried debugging, but it crashes before it hits my breakpoint). • Android: Having trouble creating a subclass of application to share data with multiple Activities

    - by Mike
    Hello, I just finished a couple of activities in my game and now I was going to start to wire them both up to use real game data, instead of the test data I was using just to make sure each piece worked. Since multiple Activities will need access to this game data, I started researching the best way to pass this data to my Activities. I know about using putExtra with intents, but my GameData class has quite a bit of data and not just simple key value pairs. Besides quite a few basic data types, it also has large arrays. I didn't really want to try and pass all that, unless I can pass the entire object, instead of just key/data pairs. I read the following post and thought it would be the way to go, but so far, I haven't got it to work. Android: How to declare global variables? I created a simple test app to try this method out, but it keeps crashing and my code seems to look the same as in the post above - except I changed the names. Here is the error I am getting. Can someone help me understand what I am doing wrong? 12-23 00:50:49.762: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(608): Caused by: java.lang.ClassCastException: android.app.Application It crashes on the following statement: GameData newGameData = ((GameData)getApplicationContext()); Here is my code: package mrk.examples.StaticGameData; import android.app.Application; public class GameData extends Application { private int intTest; GameData () { intTest = 0; } public int getIntTest(){ return intTest; } public void setIntTest(int value){ intTest = value; } } // My main activity package mrk.examples.StaticGameData; import android.app.Activity; import android.content.Intent; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; public class StaticGameData extends Activity { int intStaticTest; /** Called when the activity is first created. */ @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); GameData newGameData = ((GameData)getApplicationContext()); newGameData.setIntTest(0); intStaticTest = newGameData.getIntTest(); Log.d("StaticGameData", "Well: IntStaticTest = " + intStaticTest); newGameData.setIntTest(1); Log.d("StaticGameData", "Well: IntStaticTest = " + intStaticTest + " newGameData: " + newGameData.getIntTest()); Intent intentNew = new Intent(this, PassData2Activity.class); startActivity (intentNew); } } // My test Activity to see if it can access the data and its previous state from the last activity package mrk.examples.StaticGameData; import android.app.Activity; import android.os.Bundle; import android.util.Log; public class PassData2Activity extends Activity { @Override public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) { super.onCreate(savedInstanceState); setContentView(R.layout.main); GameData gamedataPass = ((GameData)getApplicationContext()); Log.d("PassData2Activity", "IntTest = " + gamedataPass.getIntTest()); } } Below is the relevant portion of my manifest: <application android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> <activity android:name=".StaticGameData" android:label="@string/app_name"> <intent-filter> <action android:name="android.intent.action.MAIN" /> <category android:name="android.intent.category.LAUNCHER" /> </intent-filter> </activity> <activity android:name=".PassData2Activity"></activity> </application> <application android:name=".GameData" android:icon="@drawable/icon" android:label="@string/app_name"> </application> Thanks in advance for helping me understand why this code is crashing. • Java client listening to WebSphere MQ Server?

    I need to write a Java client listening to WebSphere MQ Server. Message is put into a queue in the server. I developed this code, but am not sure it is correct or not. • Android Alert Dialog Extract User Choice Radio Button?

    - by kel196
    Apologies for any coding ignorance, I am a beginner and am still learning! I am creating a quiz app which reads questions off a SQL database and plots them as points on a google map. As the user clicks each point, an alert dialog appears with radio buttons to answer some question. My radiobuttons are in CustomItemizedOverlay file and when I click submit, I want to be able to send the user choice back to the database, save it and return to the user if their answer is correct. My question is this, how do I pass the user choice out once the submit button has been clicked? I tried making a global variable to read what was selected to no avail. Any suggestions would be appreciated! If I need to post any other code, please ask and I will do so ASAP! package uk.ac.ucl.cege.cegeg077.uceskkw; import java.util.ArrayList; import android.app.AlertDialog; import android.content.Context; import android.content.DialogInterface; import android.graphics.drawable.Drawable; import android.widget.Toast; import com.google.android.maps.ItemizedOverlay; import com.google.android.maps.OverlayItem; public class CustomItemizedOverlay2 extends ItemizedOverlay<OverlayItem> { private ArrayList<OverlayItem> mapOverlays = new ArrayList<OverlayItem>(); private Context context; public CustomItemizedOverlay2(Drawable defaultMarker) { super(boundCenterBottom(defaultMarker)); } public CustomItemizedOverlay2(Drawable defaultMarker, Context context) { this(defaultMarker); this.context = context; } @Override protected OverlayItem createItem(int i) { return mapOverlays.get(i); } @Override public int size() { return mapOverlays.size(); } @Override protected boolean onTap(int index) { OverlayItem item = mapOverlays.get(index); // gets the snippet from ParseKMLAndDisplayOnMap and splits it back into // a string. final CharSequence allanswers[] = item.getSnippet().split("::"); AlertDialog.Builder dialog = new AlertDialog.Builder(context); dialog.setIcon(R.drawable.easterbunnyegg); dialog.setTitle(item.getTitle()); dialog.setSingleChoiceItems(allanswers, -1, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int whichButton) { Toast.makeText(context, "You have selected " + allanswers[whichButton], Toast.LENGTH_SHORT).show(); } }); dialog.setPositiveButton(R.string.button_submit, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int whichButton) { dialog.dismiss(); // int selectedPosition = ((AlertDialog) // dialog).getListView().getCheckedItemPosition(); Toast.makeText(context, "hi!", Toast.LENGTH_SHORT) .show(); } }); dialog.setNegativeButton(R.string.button_close, new DialogInterface.OnClickListener() { public void onClick(DialogInterface dialog, int whichButton) { dialog.dismiss(); // on cancel button action } }); AlertDialog question = dialog.create(); question.show(); return true; } public void addOverlay(OverlayItem overlay) { mapOverlays.add(overlay); this.populate(); } }

  • Why doesn't JSF 2.0 RI (Mojarra) scan my class' annotations?

    - by DWoldrich
    I have a War and Jar project in my Eclipse-based JSF project. I have decided to use annotations to declare my FacesConverter, (among a myriad other things), rather than declare it using my faces-config.xml. @FacesConverter(value="passwordFieldStringConverter") public class PasswordFieldStringConverter implements Converter { public Object getAsObject(FacesContext arg0, UIComponent arg1, String arg2) throws ConverterException { try { return arg2.getBytes("UTF-16BE"); } catch(UnsupportedEncodingException uee) { Assert.impossibleException(uee); } return(null); } public String getAsString(FacesContext arg0, UIComponent arg1, Object arg2) throws ConverterException { try { return new String((byte[]) arg2, "UTF-16BE"); } catch(UnsupportedEncodingException uee) { Assert.impossibleException(uee); } return(null); } } And then I use passwordFieldStringConverter directly in my .xhtml: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets" xmlns:sec="http://www.springframework.org/security/facelets/tags"> <ui:composition> <f:view> <f:loadBundle basename="landingPage.bundle" var="bundle" /> <ui:decorate template="/WEB-INF/jsf_helpers/htmlShell.xhtml"> <ui:param name="PageTitleParam" value="#{bundle.pageTitle}" /> <h:form> <h:dataTable var="rowVar" value="#{userListContainer.users}"> <f:facet name="header"><h:outputText value="Users you are currently managing:" /></f:facet> <h:column> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="Screen Name" /> </f:facet> <h:outputText value="#{rowVar.screenName}" /> </h:column> <h:column> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText value="Password" /> </f:facet> <h:outputText value="#{rowVar.password}"> <f:converter converterId="passwordFieldStringConverter" /> </h:outputText> </h:column> </h:dataTable> </h:form> </ui:decorate> </f:view> </ui:composition> </html> JSF is supposed to scan the jars in my War at deployment-time and detect which classes have annotations on them (and auto-configure the application accordingly). My problem is that JSF is apparently not detecting the classes I have which sport annotations. The War project has all of my .xhtml files as well as the project's faces-config.xml, my Jar project has all of my faces related Java code (action beans, managed beans, custom converters, etc.)

  • Thread locking issue with FileHelpers between calling engine.ReadNext() method and readign engine.Li

    - by Rad
    I use producer/consumer pattern with FileHelpers library to import data from one file (which can be huge) using multiple threads. Each thread is supposed to import a chunk of that file and I would like to use LineNumber property of the FileHelperAsyncEngine instance that is reading the file as primary key for imported rows. FileHelperAsyncEngine internally has an IEnumerator IEnumerable.GetEnumerator(); which is iterated over using engine.ReadNext() method. That internally sets LineNumber property (which seems is not thread safe). Consumers will have Producers assiciated with them that will supply DataTables to Consumers which will consume them via SqlBulkLoad class which will use IDataReader implementation which will iterate over a collection of DataTables which are internal to a Consumer instance. Each instance of will have one SqlBulkCopy instance associate with it. I have thread locking issue. Below is how I create multiple Producer threads. I start each thread afterwords. Produce method on a producer instance will be called determining which chunk of input file will be processed. It seems that engine.LineNumber is not thread safe and I doesn't import a proper LineNumber in the database. It seems that by the time engine.LineNumber is read some other thread called engine.ReadNext() and changed engine.LineNumber property. I don't want to lock the loop that is supposed to process a chunk of input file because I loose parallelism. How to reorganize the code to solve this threading issue? Thanks Rad for (int i = 0; i < numberOfProducerThreads; i++) DataConsumer consumer = dataConsumers[i]; //create a new producer DataProducer producer = new DataProducer(); //consumer has already being created consumer.Subscribe(producer); FileHelperAsyncEngine orderDetailEngine = new FileHelperAsyncEngine(recordType); orderDetailEngine.Options.RecordCondition.Condition = RecordCondition.ExcludeIfBegins; orderDetailEngine.Options.RecordCondition.Selector = STR_ORDR; int skipLines = i * numberOfBufferTablesToProcess * DataBuffer.MaxBufferRowCount; Thread newThread = new Thread(() => { producer.Produce(consumer, inputFilePath, lineNumberFieldName, dict, orderDetailEngine, skipLines, numberOfBufferTablesToProcess); consumer.SetEndOfData(producer); }); producerThreads.Add(newThread); thread.Start();} public void Produce(DataConsumer consumer, string inputFilePath, string lineNumberFieldName, Dictionary<string, object> dict, FileHelperAsyncEngine engine, int skipLines, int numberOfBufferTablesToProcess) { lock (this) { engine.Options.IgnoreFirstLines = skipLines; engine.BeginReadFile(inputFilePath); } int rowCount = 1; DataTable buffer = consumer.BufferDataTable; while (engine.ReadNext() != null) { lock (this) { dict[lineNumberFieldName] = engine.LineNumber; buffer.Rows.Add(ObjectFieldsDataRowMapper.MapObjectFieldsToDataRow(engine.LastRecord, dict, buffer)); if (rowCount % DataBuffer.MaxBufferRowCount == 0) { consumer.AddBufferDataTable(buffer); buffer = consumer.BufferDataTable; } if (rowCount % (numberOfBufferTablesToProcess * DataBuffer.MaxBufferRowCount) == 0) { break; } rowCount++; } } if (buffer.Rows.Count > 0) { consumer.AddBufferDataTable(buffer); } engine.Close(); }

  • How to make condition inside getView of Custom BaseAdapter

    - by user1501150
    I want to make a Custom ListView with Custom BaseAdapter, where the the status=1,I want to show a CheckBox, and else I want to show a textView.. • ScrollPanel in java does not appear JTextarea resizes instead

    - by Casper Marcussen
    Hello everyone My program is finished, but testing it out, i found out that the scrollpanel does not appear, it just resizes the JTextarea instead. The code is provided below: package javaapplication15; import java.awt.Container; import java.awt.FlowLayout; import java.awt.event.ActionEvent; import java.awt.event.ActionListener; import java.io.*; import java.io.IOException; import javax.swing.*; public class Tekstprogram extends JFrame { public Tekstprogram() { setSize(400, 600); setDefaultCloseOperation(EXIT_ON_CLOSE); setResizable(false); Container Indhold = getContentPane(); Indhold.setLayout(new FlowLayout()); JButton openButton = new JButton("Open"); JButton saveButton = new JButton("Save"); final JLabel statusbar = new JLabel("Output of your selection will go here"); final JTextArea TekstOmråde = new JTextArea(29, 30); JScrollPane scrollText = new JScrollPane(TekstOmråde); openButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) { JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser(); chooser.setMultiSelectionEnabled(true); int option = chooser.showOpenDialog(Tekstprogram.this); if (option == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) { File[] sf = chooser.getSelectedFiles(); String filelist = "nothing"; if (sf.length > 0) { filelist = sf[0].getName(); } for (int i = 1; i < sf.length; i++) { filelist = filelist + ", " + sf[i].getName(); } try { String strLine; File selectedFile = chooser.getSelectedFile(); FileInputStream in = new FileInputStream(selectedFile); BufferedReader br = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(in)); while ((strLine = br.readLine()) != null) { TekstOmråde.append(strLine + "\n"); } } catch (Exception e) { System.out.println("En fejl opstod ved" + e); } } } }); saveButton.addActionListener(new ActionListener() { public void actionPerformed(ActionEvent ae) { JFileChooser chooser = new JFileChooser(); int option = chooser.showSaveDialog(Tekstprogram.this); if (option == JFileChooser.APPROVE_OPTION) { File file = chooser.getSelectedFile(); try { BufferedWriter out = new BufferedWriter(new FileWriter(file)); out.write(TekstOmråde.getText()); out.close(); } catch (IOException e) { System.out.println("IOException fejl opstod :"); e.printStackTrace(); } } } }); Indhold.add(openButton); Indhold.add(saveButton); Indhold.add(TekstOmråde); Indhold.add(scrollText); Indhold.add(statusbar); } public static void main(String args[]) { Tekstprogram sfc = new Tekstprogram(); sfc.setVisible(true); } } Is there anyway to make the JTexarea static?

  • Get rid of jfreechart chartpanel unnecessary space

    - by ryvantage
    I am trying to get a JFreeChart ChartPanel to remove unwanted extra space between the edge of the panel and the graph itself. To best illustrate, here's a SSCCE (with JFreeChart installed): public static void main(String[] args) { JPanel panel = new JPanel(new GridBagLayout()); GridBagConstraints gbc = new GridBagConstraints(); gbc.fill = GridBagConstraints.BOTH; gbc.gridwidth = 1; gbc.gridheight = 1; gbc.weightx = 1; gbc.weighty = 1; gbc.gridy = 1; gbc.gridx = 1; panel.add(createChart("Sales", Chart_Type.DOLLARS, 100000, 115000), gbc); gbc.gridx = 2; panel.add(createChart("Quotes", Chart_Type.DOLLARS, 250000, 240000), gbc); gbc.gridx = 3; panel.add(createChart("Profits", Chart_Type.PERCENTAGE, 40.00, 38.00), gbc); JFrame frame = new JFrame(); frame.add(panel); frame.setSize(800, 300); frame.setLocationRelativeTo(null); frame.setVisible(true); frame.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE); } private static ChartPanel createChart(String title, Chart_Type type, double goal, double actual) { double maxValue = goal * 2; double yellowToGreenNum = goal; double redToYellowNum = goal * .75; DefaultValueDataset dataset = new DefaultValueDataset(actual); JFreeChart jfreechart = createChart(dataset, Math.max(actual, maxValue), redToYellowNum, yellowToGreenNum, title, type); ChartPanel chartPanel = new ChartPanel(jfreechart); chartPanel.setBorder(new LineBorder(Color.red)); return chartPanel; } private static JFreeChart createChart(ValueDataset valuedataset, Number maxValue, Number redToYellowNum, Number yellowToGreenNum, String title, Chart_Type type) { MeterPlot meterplot = new MeterPlot(valuedataset); meterplot.setRange(new Range(0.0D, maxValue.doubleValue())); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Not Met ", new Range(0.0D, redToYellowNum.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(255, 0, 0, 128))); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Almost Met ", new Range(redToYellowNum.doubleValue(), yellowToGreenNum.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(255, 255, 0, 64))); meterplot.addInterval(new MeterInterval(" Goal Met ", new Range(yellowToGreenNum.doubleValue(), maxValue.doubleValue()), Color.lightGray, new BasicStroke(2.0F), new Color(0, 255, 0, 64))); meterplot.setNeedlePaint(Color.darkGray); meterplot.setDialBackgroundPaint(Color.white); meterplot.setDialOutlinePaint(Color.gray); meterplot.setDialShape(DialShape.CHORD); meterplot.setMeterAngle(260); meterplot.setTickLabelsVisible(false); meterplot.setTickSize(maxValue.doubleValue() / 20); meterplot.setTickPaint(Color.lightGray); meterplot.setValuePaint(Color.black); meterplot.setValueFont(new Font("Dialog", Font.BOLD, 0)); meterplot.setUnits(""); if(type == Chart_Type.DOLLARS) meterplot.setTickLabelFormat(NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance()); else if(type == Chart_Type.PERCENTAGE) meterplot.setTickLabelFormat(NumberFormat.getPercentInstance()); JFreeChart jfreechart = new JFreeChart(title, JFreeChart.DEFAULT_TITLE_FONT, meterplot, false); return jfreechart; } enum Chart_Type { DOLLARS, PERCENTAGE } If you resize the frame, you can see that you cannot make the edge of the graph go to the edge of the panel (the panels are outlined in red). Especially on the bottom - there is always a gap between the bottom the graph and the bottom of the panel. Is there a way to make the graph fill the entire area? Is there a way to at least guarantee that it is touching one edge of the panel (i.e., it is touching the top and bottom or the left and right) ??
