• Free, web based alternative to Visio?

  I have used Visio to map out my network structure, and have used the export function to create an HTML page that is searchable by IP, hostname etc. This is a really nice tool and I use it often. However, I would like for users who do not use Internet Explorer to be able to use the search features. What are some alternatives to Visio here? I want to draw a network diagram where objects are searchable. Thanks!

• Vim digraphs is not working

  I've tried to input digraphs in Vim (without vi compatibility), and unfortunately I can't. After using ControlKP * it should input big greek pi letter. I've also tried using PBS * with :set digraph, but no success either. • How to extract 4th line from 300 text files?

  I have about 300 emails (gmail) that go like this: Dear [name] Order ID:123456789 Purchased by: [name I need] (blah blah another 26 lines of crap (total of 30 lines)) What I need help is how to save gmail's mails locally into .txt and how to export 4th line from each text file. I can easily run Replace 'Purchased by: ' to remove that and keep only the names from that line in a list, but other than that I have no clue Any ideas?

  I have a production Active Directory Server running on a Windows Server 2008 R2 machine. I would like to make a duplicate of this machine with all setting the same, except the domain would be a slight variation of the current domain (think winnet to winnet2). Would it be easiest to try to clone the hard drive while the machine is running and change the domain on the clone in a different machine or export the data and import it on a different box?

• Tools to extract text from powerpoint pptx in linux?

  Any there any linux tools that will extract the text from a Powerpoint pptx file? I tried catppt but it just returns file.pptx is not OLE file or Error. abiword --to=txt file.pptx also returns an empty text file. I can open the file in libreoffice but it doesn't seem to have an "export as text" option. As a guess I also tried libreoffice --headless --convert-to txt:Text file.pptx but that doesn't even return an empty file.

• Proper SSH keys location for a system user ?

  I have a system account with which I run a database (namely mongodb). By default it has no home. Now I'd like to trigger scp commands from that account, with ssh keys authentication to a remote server, to export backups. Should I just create a /home/mongodb and /home/mongodb/.ssh folders manually to store the SSH keys, like the default for regular users ? Is it still considered a system account after that ? Thanks!

During the export the CPU is always above a set %, and when idle it's typically in the single digits. Is there some tool or setting that would prevent the PC from going to sleep as long as the CPU usage (let's say averaged over one minute) stays above a specified limit?

  We're using Microsoft Outlook 2003/2007 with NON-EXHCANGE mailboxes, stored in PST files. Is there a way to quickly add a large number of senders from the inbox to the users contact list? I was thinking to export all the senders from the inbox in the PST file to a list and then so use scripting to add them all to the contact list, or perhaps arrange in CSV and import.   How do you turn off STARTTLS in Qmail (running on RH)? I initially installed the forcetls patch, but have since needed to use fixcrio which doesn't work with TLS (plus I don't need TLS for my setup anyway). I've tried a few different things, such as: echo 0 /var/qmail/control/smtpforcetls & adding DENY_TLS=1; export DENY_TLS to my /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run file and none of them have worked. • Program for getting the cursor's x,y coordinates?

  Is there a program which lets you easily get the x,y coordinates for your cursor? Basically, I move my cursor to somewhere on my screen, it shows me the x,y coordinates and has an option to copy them to the clipboard or export them somehow. I can already do this if I take a screenshot and open it in MS Paint, then as I move the mouse cursor over the screenshot it shows the coordinates in the status bar, however I have to manually write them down, hence its not convenient.

• Copy all text in a LibreOffice Draw drawing

  I have a large flowchart, created in LibreOffice Draw (3.3.1), that I would like to copy all of the text from. I do not need, nor care about the order or structure, I just need all of the text from within the blocks. I can't seem to find any way to export without turning it into an image, and none of the "Paste Special" options allow me to get unformatted text. Is there a way to do this without retyping everything?
