  • My server is behind a router. How can I see my website correctly? [closed]

    I'm running a web server (Ubuntu) on my local home network. I'm behind a router. On the WAN I have a direct IP. When not on my home network and accessing my website via the WAN direct IP my website displays correctly and everything works. On my home LAN behind the router, accessing my website via the WAN direct gets me to my router's admin login page. This is normal. But... Accessing my website (via it's home LAN IP address) from another computer on my home LAN gets me to the website but the layout display is broken and clicking on any link takes me to the WAN direct IP (my router's Admin login page). How can i get my website to display properly and the links to work when accessing it from my home LAN?

    I downloaded the XAMPP .run file from Apacheandfriends but the installation isn't working for me.   • Cron job running successfully suddenly reports script is not found

    What might cause cron to suddenly report a file it is supposed to run is "not found," when the file hasn't been touched, and in fact, the entire system hasn't been touched since it last ran successfully? I have a cronjob schedule I define by doing sudo crontab -e In it, I have dozens of cron jobs that run successfully.. I do not have a PATH specified, and I use absolute paths to call all my scheduled scripts, setting the PATH in them as needed. I do not specify a SHELL in the crontab. All scripts identify the shell as their first line. Without me touching the system, a particular job defined in the middle of other jobs will suddenly stop running. To debug this, I added an output redirection to a log file. In that, the output clearly shows the output of the script successfully running time after time for weeks, and then suddenly the following appears: /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found /bin/sh: /home/iupress/bin/sync-email_images: not found If I do the ls command, copying and pasting that exact path from the error message, it clearly reports the file is still there (no surprise). Yet the log continues to report that file is "not found" until I take action. I can run the script manually and it runs just fine. If I do sudo crontab -e and save the file, the job runs on the next scheduled time, putting its output in the log, no longer reporting the script is "not found". It seems to me the contents of the script trying to be run are irrelevant since cron doesn't even process the file because it is "not found". I have a job scheduled below the one that is encountering this problem that I know is continuing to run, because I have its output mailed to me. So I know cron is running and continues to run at least one other job, even after it suddenly reports this job's script is "not found". All my lines end with a newline. I had no periods in the crontab until I added the redirection to a log file. I have now added a PATH specification, but left the absolute paths in the jobs. Unfortunately, I have no idea if and when this problem will occur. It will likely be weeks from now. By the way, I am running a script to syncronize the clock, and I see the time is exactly what it should be.

    I had 4 accounts on UBuntu 11.10. The /home folder is in a separate partition. Now, after I reinstalled Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2, I manually created the remaining 3 usernames so that it can use the existing home locations. However, after creating the users i found that the usernames have got mapped to the other home folders. For example user A got mapped to home folder of user B User B got mapped to home folder of user C User C got mapped to home folder of user A How do I change this so that the users get mapped to their correct account.

  • SimpleXMLElement (PHP) throwing error on XML root attributes

    I am working on a project that will take XML data submitted through a textarea input in a form then extract the data and throw it into a database. I am getting errors about the attribute in the root field of my XML (it is the same schema each time, but with different values). I've attempted to properly install/run RVM, however I can't get it to work. I am unable to install the sqlite3-ruby gem.   • Failing to install activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter gem

    I am trying to follow the basic "Create a blog in 20 minutes" Rails screencast but have hit a stumbling block already. When I try to rake db:migrate I get errors about the gem activerecord-jdbcmysql-adapter not being installed. When I try to install it, I am told it doesn't exist. If I try to simply gem install mysql I get all sorts of madness appearing. I am running this on Mac OS X 10.6.2 and my installation was all done through gem. My basic setup works (Hello world!).     From Android widget screen guidelines, http://developer.android.com/guide/practices/ui_guidelines/widget_design.html, we know that, home screen has 4*4 cells, and in portrait orientation, each cell is 80 pixels wide by 100 pixels tall. I think these are for baseline HVGA screen. How about for large screens and hdpi screens, do they still have 4*4 cells for widget and each cell in portrait orientation is still 80 pixels * 100 pixels? Thanks.

  • Why is YAML installing to my home directory instead of its proper directory?

    I keep getting the following error when installing Ruby 1.9.3-p125: It seems your ruby installation is missing psych (for YAML output). To eliminate this warning, please install libyaml and reinstall your ruby. I've tried installing LibYAML and for some reason it's installing in my home directory on OS X Lion where the Documents, Music, Pictures, etc. folders are. Any idea how I can get rid of this error, properly install YAML and never have to deal with this again?

    Hi all, In the MSDN is writen about TreeNode that: "By default, a node is in selection mode." "To put a node into selection mode, set the node's NavigateUrl property to an empty string." "When a node is in selection mode, use the SelectAction property to specify which event or events are raised when a node is selected." "Setting TreeNodeSelectAction value TreeNodeSelectAction.Select Raises the SelectedNodeChanged event when a node is selected." Please see TreeNode Here is the problem and possibly a bug in the control: When I set the TreeNode object PopulateOnDemand value to true and call the Collapse() function on that node. Then the TreeNodeExpanded event is raised in addition to the SelectedNodeChanged event. This is in complate contradiction to what is writen in the MSDN. According to the MSDN this sould happen only if TreeNodeSelectAction Property is set to TreeNodeSelectAction.SelectExpand value. Does some know whats the cause for that?   • How to serve static files for multiple Django projects via nginx to same domain

    I am trying to setup my nginx conf so that I can serve the relevant files for my multiple Django projects. Ultimately I want each app to be available at www.example.com/app1, www.example.com/app2 etc. They all serve static files from a 'static-files' directory located in their respective project root. The project structure: Home Ubuntu Web www.example.com ref logs app app1 app1 static bower_components templatetags app1_project templates static-files app2 app2 static templates templatetags app2_project static-files app3 tests templates static-files static app3_project app3 venv When I use the conf below, there are no problems for serving the static-files for the app that I designate in the /static/ location. I can also access the different apps found at their locations. However, I cannot figure out how to serve all of the static files for all the apps at the same time. I have looked into using the 'try_files' command for the static location, but cannot figure out how to see if it is working or not. Or am I totally off base on this and I need to put each app in a subdomain instead of going this route? Thanks for any suggestions TLDR: I want to go to: www.example.com/APP_NAME_HERE And have nginx serve the static location: /home/ubuntu/web/www.example.com/app/APP_NAME_HERE/static-files/;
