    I trying to find out how to get the mail server information on the server I connect to with Javamail. I know in the debug statements when you connect you will get something like "S: +OK [MAIL_SERVER_NAME] ready.". Is there an easier way to get this information (and hopefully more information) than just parsing the debug output?

    I know that each recipient counts toward the Recipients Emailed (billable) quota and I can't send to more than is my daily quota. But is there a limit how many recipients can a single email have? For example can a single email created and sent through App engine Mail api have 8000 recipients?

  • How do you manage Labeled and All-Mail unread mails in Thunderbird with a GMail IMAP accounnt?

    I use Thunderbird with gmail via imap and do so with multiple accounts. On the gmail side I have filters that will automatically assign labels to incoming mail and archive it moving it out of the inbox. On the Thunderbird side it will see the new mail appear in the corresponding folder and the all mail folder -- that's fine but my problem is that they're both marked as unread. Since I have many accounts I use the unread mail view in Thunderbird's folder panel and what I see is both folders highlighted as unread. When I read the message in one folder the other only get marked as read I click on it and Thunderbird does another imap transaction. Is there a configuration that will recognize the same mail in two different folders automatically?

This happens for GMail and Fasthosts mail servers. e.g I send an email to [email protected] from [email protected] , [email protected] is set to forward to [email protected] and the email never arrives. I realise this seems logical but it is a potential cause of confusion when testing email functionality in a web application (for me, anyway ;-). I would just like to know if this is standard for all MTA software so I can avoid confusing myself.

    I need to redirect e-mail within our MTA when the two following criteria are both true: When an e-mail is: Sent from: [email protected] Addressesd to: [email protected] Result: redirect e-mail to [email protected]. I don't want to catch *@isp.com and redirect, and I don't want to redirect all e-mail addressed to [email protected] but only redirect when [email protected] sends [email protected] an e-mail. How do I achieve this within Postfix's configuration. And if it's not possible within Postfix, what may be the best solution?

    I'm new to jQuery and i must admit that i've understood nothing yet, the syntax appears to me as an unknown language although i thought that i had my experiences with javascript. Nevertheless i managed it to implement this menu in my asp.net masterpage's header. Even got it to work that the content-page is loaded with ajax with help from here. But finally i'm failing with the menu to disappear when the new page was loaded asynchronously. I dont know how to hide this accursed jQuery Menu. Following the part of the js-file where the events are registered for hiding/disappearing.     I have searched everywhere for this and I really want to resolve this. In the past I just end up using an SMTP service like SendGrid for PHP and a mailing plugin like SwiftMailer. However I want to use PHP.     My website sends activation mails to new members using the php mail() function. I manage my email accounts using the google mail service (aspmx.googlemail.com). But unfortunately, Hotmail users receive the activation email in their unwanted folder. I did some research and found out about SPF records (I can not use keys since I have limited control over my webserver). So how do I configure my SPF record? I now have: v=spf1 a mx a:mywebsite.net include:aspmx.googlemail.com ~all Would this be what I need?
