  • Three native monitors on Dell OptiPlex 9010

    http://www.dell.com/uk/business/p/optiplex-9010/pd says: Configure your workspace the way you want it with support for up to three native monitors via DP/DP/VGA ports. So I ordered one, and have connected three monitors, but I can only enable two at a time. It can be both of the ones connected by DisplayPort, or one of the ones connected by DisplayPort and the one connected by VGA. Does anyone know whether it really is possible to enable all three at once, and if so, how?

  • How do I Reset Sync Location when rereading a Kindle Book

    I feel like an idiot but for the life of me I can't find the answer to this question. Whispernet syncs your reading location across all books right? How do you reset that location? If I want to read a book for the second time if I try to sync to the furthest page read it will push me to the last page because that's the furthest I've read. Am I doomed to only read Kindle books once?

  • Getting xdebug to talk to netbeans (from a virtual box)

    Trying to get xdebug to talk to netbeans (and vice versa). xdebug is in a virtualbox setup with vagrant (and some basic puppet to setup a basic LAMP). According to the php.ini from the VM everything is setup as I indented. xdebug.default_enable=1 xdebug.remote_enable=1 xdebug.remote_handler=dbgp xdebug.remote_host=33.33.33.1 xdebug.remote_port=9000 xdebug.remote_autostart=0 Unfortunately netbeans debugger just doesn't seem to be able to talk with xdebug. Ideas?

    I have a HP 8300 elite (Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz). I'm trying to run a virtual machine via VirtualBox. But every time I start the VM, it says: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS. (VERR_VMX_MSR_VMXON_DISABLED).     Here's the laptop It wouldn't be hardcore gaming, mostly things like the new Deus Ex game, Mirror's Edge, Portal 2, etc... I need to replace my current, broken, laptop and I thought this would be a good opportunity to get to play some of these games. My current laptop is really only lacking in its graphics card. (Intel series 4 chipset) If this laptop isn't good enough, I would really appreciate suggestions. I won't be able to get a desktop, otherwise I would, and I can't spend more than $1000 dollars on my new laptop.

I went on the dd-wrt web site and I read the wiki, but I didn't see any files or instructions on how to change the firmware. The router database lists my router, but as I said: no files. In addition the "Supported" column lists "wip", what is wip? I want to organize my mp3 directories, but any copied file loses its reference from itunes library, thus, when I add it to itunes again, it'll have no rating data. I guess it's possible if I manipulate the itunes xml database, but I really don't want to mess with it "by hand".

That is, does CPRM encrypt it? Could CPRM prevent me from accessing my own data? Is it possible to disable or eliminate CPRM from either the memory card or the card reader? Are there manufacturers selling CPRM-free SD memory cards? Is there any real alternative to CPRM-protected SD memory cards beside USB flash drives? Is Linux support for SD cards good? Thanks.

  • Time Machine (OSX) doesn't back up files in Mount Point or Disk Image File

    I found this Q&A (http://superuser.com/questions/148849/backup-mounted-drive-of-an-image-in-time-machine) and this prompted me to ask the following question: I have two disk images which are scripted to be mounted on login. These two disk images are always mounted to the same location. These two disk images are encrypted TrueCrypt volumes. Time Machine (TM) will only back up the disk images the first time they are mounted, but not after that. As I modify documents within the volumes throughout the day, the modified timestamps are adjusted properly. However, TM does not back them up. TM never backs up the mount points which are two folders within my home directory. Any ideas as to why neither the mount point or the image files are backed up? Do the image files have to be closed (unmounted) after being modified for TM to back them up? Thanks, Chris

  • Is there any way to tweak / rotate mouse orientation? Any applications? Registry edits?

    I've got a very frustrating issue with my new Logitech Marathon Mouse M705. It is absolutely perfect for what I need, with the exception that it tracks on an angle for some reason. What I mean is when you slide the cursor to the left, it trends upward - when you slide to the right, it trends down. Moving the cursor along a flat horizontal line is no longer a natural motion - you need to fight what I suspect is a mechanical error of some kind. Unfortunately, I've already exchanged this mouse once and tested both on different Windows 7 and Mac OS machines - the problem continues to occur. So is there a software solution for me? I'm incredibly surprised there is no simple way to adjust the orientation... How can every mouse manufacturer possibly adjust their hardware to track to everyone's tastes? What about those who need to flip orientation a full 90 or 180 degrees? I only need to adjust mine a few degrees, but I'm sure that need has arisen as well. Anyway, I'm running the latest SetPoint drivers (6.00) on Windows 7 and there are no orientation options available. I've checked out uberOptions (http://uberoptions.net/) and the M705 isn't supported yet (with the last version update over 6 months ago). MAF Mouse (http://www.maf-soft.de/mafmouse/) instructions are a very strange series of mouse clicks to activate? This app also seems a little overkill and costs $$ (which I'm willing to pay as a last resort). Is there no universal registry value for mouse orientation? How about for SetPoint drivers specifically? I've done a simple search in regedit without any luck. An XML file somewhere? Anything?? Thanks a million for any help - it's driving me nuts!

    Getting the following error when attempt to press "Refresh" inside the Mail app for an exchange server account. Using an Android 2.1 device (Evo). "Exchange email synchronization is disabled".     I am new to Linux and trying to set up a server. For this project I need some additional software, but how to install the software I'm interested in is not always obvious. For example, this was my experience with a PHP package called htscanner: There is no installation guide on the website. The website says that the version I used did not have any dependencies, but this is incorrect. "Release 0.8.1: No dependencies registered." There is no configuration guide on the website. After I managed to get it installed it still didn't work. I decided to just uninstall it and find a better solution. Uninstalling isn't straightforward; the best answer I got is to manually look for the files and delete them. What are the basic concepts of installing and uninstalling software on Linux? How is this supposed to work?

I have tried removing the mapping for "alex-macbook" which results in the guest machine being assigned a normal DHCP address and NOT the one that is in the mapping of the router.

  • DVD-ROM: Pioneer DVD-115GA not being detected.

    Specs to put things in context: AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @ 2.00 GHz / 2 x 512 MB PC-3200 DDR RAM / 160 GB IDE HDD / 128 MB GeForce 6200 AGP / FIC AM37 / Windows XP Pro SP3 So this computer is actually an upgraded EMachines T2482. I found a used DVD-ROM for cheap... the Pioneer DVD-115GA. I originally had a plain DVD Reader (Lite-On XJ-HD166S) which was quite useless. So I basically did a simple swap of the drive and powered up the computer. The drive could open and close, and I put in a DVD and it was spinning, but no detection. Going into the BIOS, the drive was not detected. (The IDE cable connecting the DVD-ROM is connected to the CD-ROM below it and then attached to the secondary IDE port on the motherboard.) So I started all the way up and tried to scan for hardware changes in Computer Management. Still, nothing. I have the software downloaded from the Pioneer site, and that couldn't detect anything. So what else can I try to hopefully get my DVD-ROM recognized by the BIOS? Thanks in advance!

  • VBE6.dll not found when opening Access 2007 database in Access 2010

    I have an access 2007 database that has some VBA code in it. I need to open this database in Access 2010, but when I first open it I get an error that says: the expression on open you entered as the event property setting produced the following error: file not found: VBE6.dll I believe it's becuase Access 2010 references VBE7.dll when it loads up, and my database was built to reference VBE6.dll. I've tried putting VBE6.dll in the same folder that VBE7.dll resides in, hoping it would just get loaded up, but no luck. What can I do to resolve this?
