  • How to open saved event log archive in .NET?

    I have used the System.Diagnostics.EventLog to view the logs on the local computer. However, I would like to open a saved event log archive (.evt or .evtx) and view the logs that are contained in the saved file. I just need to view timestamps, messages, sources, etc. associated with the logs in the file. Can this be done in C#?

What is the cleanest way to implement this? For discussion purpose, imagine... Account has a Contact, and I need to store who update the contact, when, and what's updated.

  • How Can I Log and Find the Most Expensive Queries?

    Hi folks The activity monitor in sql2k8 allows us to see the most expensive queries. Ok, that's kewl, but is there a way I can log this info or get this info via query analyser? I don't really want to have the Sql Management console open and me looking at the activity monitor dashboard. I want to figure out which queries are poorly written/schema is poorly designed, etc. Thanks heaps for any help!

    I created a method "UPLPAD2" to upload file to server. Splitting my file to packets(10MB). It's OK (100%). But when i call getInputStream, i get FileNotFoundException.   • How to generate changelog: git log since last Hudson build?

    I'm using Phing to do post build tasks in Hudson. I want to generate changelog containing all commits since last successful Hudson build. But looks like neither Hudson nor Git plugin for Hudson does not provide %last_build_time% variable. This would be satisfying solution, (but how to get the time?): git log --pretty="%s" --since="%last_build_time%" The only way I see for now is extracting it from the job xml file, but I do not know if it is possible with Phing. How do you generate your change logs?

  • How to add django-db-log models to admin panel?

    Just installed django-db-log module and trying to make it work properly. 'python manage.py syncdb' command created databases, it seems like logging works, but there is nothing about it in admin panel. As I found in documentation, it should add itself in admin panel without any additional configuration, but then I added 'djangodblog.middleware.DBLogMiddleware' in MIDDLEWARE_CLASSES and 'djangodblog' in INSTALLED_APPS it looks like nothing happens. What I'm doing wrong?

  • Is it possible to programatically log access to a windows share (SMB share) using the .Net framework

    Just wondering if it is possible to figure out who has read files from a Windows share (using .NET ideally but win32 native will do)? What I'm try to do is create something like awstats for a windows share so I can see who is accessing what and which are the most popular files. I'm not interested in changes - I just want to log access (with time) along with ip / hostname and what file.
