  The only difference is that Winmain takes char* for lpCmdLine parameter, while wWinMain takes wchar_t*. On Windows XP, if an application entry is WinMain, does Windows convert the command line from Unicode to Ansi and pass to the application? If the command line parameter must be in Unicode (for example, Unicode file name, conversion will cause some characters missing), does that mean that I must use wWinMain as the entry function?

  Hi, I'm trying to redirect the output of a GDI application to a buffer, preferably a d3d texture but I'll settle for a system memory buffer that I can then copy to a d3d texture. Specifically, I'm trying to get Google Chrome to render into a d3d buffer to be displayed in a d3d application. Are there any foolproof ways to do this or am I opening the mother of all worm-cans? This might sound confusing, so I'll describe what I'm looking to accomplish in a case based scenario, with steps: User visits application Thread starts Until the thread finishes, that user's server instance hangs Once the thread completes, a response is delivered to the user Other visitors to the site should not be affected by any other users using the application How can I accomplish something like this? I would like to send a logout message to my mac when I quit the iPhone app. I tried to send it on the : -applicationWillTerminate methode but it seems that the application shut down my service before.   In my multithread application I use TThread.suspend and TThread.resume Since moving my application to Delphi 2010 I get the following warring message [DCC Warning] xxx.pas(277): W1000 Symbol ‘Resume’ is deprecated If Resume is deprecated what should be used in place?   Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on 'best practices' for using global state in a web application - specifically PHP, although im looking for generic best practices i.e. design patterns etc. At the moment I just use a static class, calling it Configs.
