• Value missing from form.fieldnames in ColdFusion

But graduation_date is missing. After a little more testing, I see that anything ending in _date is excluded from form.fieldnames. I was going to ask what's wrong with my code, but now I'm pretty convinced it's a bug in ColdFusion. (I'm on ColdFusion 8.0.1 / OS X 10.5.6.) It's a bug in ColdFusion, right?

  Hi, i'm making a questionnaire about a service quality, its contains the options (poor, regular, good, very good). It's contains 6 questions (radio button) and a suggestion box (textbox). In the table of the database i created 6 rows for questions, 1 for suggestion and 1 for date (a friend of mine tole me to use this but i didn't get why). q1) I'm going to atribute a value form 1 to 4 to the radio buttons options, and i'd like to sum every answer for each question, and then divide by the numbers of user that answered that question and give the mean. how am i supposed to to that? I'd also like generate reports of the month, of the year. q2) not only about the questionnaire but for registration too. I need all the fields to be completed, no blank options, if he don't complete all of fields it'll not be submitted and there will be a warning message to the user. q3) about the field type, i'd like it to be the same class that is in the database, i'm having a "problem". Ex: Name(varchar) : 1234(int), in the field 'name' of the table of the database 1234 will be shown as name, and i don't want this, i want only the type that i declared in the construction of the table. q4) i'd also like to know if it's possible to create pizza graphics, about the percentage of each question, is this possible? q5) I'm using phpmyadmin and some of my id's are auto_increment, but 'cause of my tests they at a high number, i'd like to restart to 0 the ids number, is this possible?   One more challenge to the XSD capability,I have been sending XML files by my clients, which will be having 0 or more undefined or [call] unexpected tags (May appear in hierarchy). Well they are redundant tags for me .. so I have got to ignore their presence, but along with them there are some set of tags which are required to be validated. This is a sample XML: <root> <undefined_1>one</undefined_1> <undefined_2>two</undefined_2> <node>to_be_validated</node> <undefined_3>two</undefined_3> <undefined_4>two</undefined_4> </root> And the XSD I tried with: <xs:element name="root" type="root"></xs:element> <xs:complexType name="root"> <xs:sequence> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> <xs:element name="node" type="xs:string"/> <xs:any maxOccurs="2" minOccurs="0"/> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType XSD doesn't allow this, due to certain reasons. The above mentioned example is just a sample. The practical XML comes with the complex hierarchy of XML tags .. Kindly let me know if you can get a hack of it. By the way, The alternative solution is to insert XSL-transformation, before validation process. Well, I am avoiding it because I need to change the .Net code which triggers validation process, which is supported at the least by my company.

• Why do I need to give my options a value attribute in my dropdown? JQuery related.

  So far in my web developing experiences, I've noticed that almost all web developers/designers choose to give their options in a select a value like so: <select name="foo"> <option value="bar">BarCheese</option> // etc. // etc. </select> Is this because it is best practice to do so? I ask this because I have done a lot of work with jQuery and dropdown's lately, and sometimes I get really annoyed when I have to check something like: $('select[name=foo]').val() == "bar"); To me, many times that seems less clear than just being able to check the val() against BarCheese. So why is it that most web developers/designers specify a value paramater instead of just letting the options actual value be its value? And yes, if the option has a value attribute I know I can do something like this: $('select[name=foo] option:contains("BarCheese")').attr('selected', 'selected'); But I would still really like to know why this is done.   I'm trying to set up a custom delegate protocol and am getting a strange error that I don't understand. I wonder if someone could point out what I'm doing wrong here (I'm still new to Ob-C and protocol use)... The situation is that I've built my own URLLoader class to manage loading and parsing data from the internet. I'm now trying to set up a protocol for delegates to implement that will respond to the URLLoader's events. • jQuery validation plugin - no error messages instead custom backgrounds

  I am using the jQuery validation plugin. The form which is being validated has custom background images for the text input fields, so instead of showing an error message for invalid fields I would like to change the background image. Making things a bit trickier is that the background image for the fields is on a different div absolutely positioned behind the text field (which has a transparent background and no border). I will spare going into the reasons for this design decision here (it's related to margins within the text field) but I thought it should be mentioned since it is critical to this question. Therefore, I have two questions: How can I stop the display of the error messages all-together? How can I instead tell the validation plugin if, for example, the name field (e.g. <input id=name ... />) is invalid then it should change the background for the relevant div (e.g. <div id=name-bg... ></div>)? • own drawImage / drawLine in OpenGL

  I'm implementing some native 2D-draw functions in my graphics engine for android, but now there's another question coming up, when I observe the performance of my program. At the moment I'm implementing a drawLine/drawImage function. In summary, there are following different values for drawing each different line / image: the color the alpha value the width of the line rotation (only for images) size/scale (also for images) blending method (subrtract, add, normal-alpha) Now, when an imageLine is drawn, I put the CPU-calculated vertex-positions and uv-values for 6 vertices (2 triangles), into a Floatbuffer and draw it immediately with drawArrays, after passing information for drawing (color,alpha, etc.) via uniforms to the shader. When I draw an image, the pre-set VBO is directly drawn after passing information. The first fact I recognized, is: of course drawing Images is much faster, than imagelines (beacuse of VBOs), but also: I cannot pre-put vertex-data into a VBO for imageLines, because imageLines have no static shape like normal images (varying linelength, varying linewidth and the vertex positions of x1,y1 and x2,y2 change too often) That's why I use a normal Floatbuffer, instead of a VBO. So my question is: What's the best way for managing images, and other 2D-graphics functions. For me it's some kind of important, that the user of the engine is able to draw as many images/2D graphics as possible, without loosing to much performance.   I'm trying to dynamically change an embedded video on a page. It's working in Firefox but for some reason it's not working in IE and Chrome (strange combination). • Performing an action on Parent/Child elements independently.

  I have HTML similar to the following in my page <div id="someDiv"> <img src="foo.gif" class="someImg" /> </div> The wrapper div is set up such that when it is clicked, it's background-color changes using the following jQuery code. $("div").click(function(event){ $(this).css("background-color", "blue"); }); I also have some jQuery associated with my img that will do some other function (for the sake of argument I am going to display and alert box) like so: $("img[class=someImg]").click(function(event){ alert("Image clicked"); }); The issue I have come across is that when I click on the img, the event associated with the div is also triggered. I'm pretty sure that this is due to the way that jQuery (or indeed JavaScript) is handling the two DOM elements - clicking the img would require you to also technically click the div, thus triggering both events. Two questions then really: Is my understanding of the DOM/JavaScript flawed in some way or is this actually how things are occurring? Are there any jQuery methods that would allow me to perform actions on a child element without invoking those associated with its parent?

• Alternate colors on click with jQuery

  I'm sure there is a simple solution to this, and I'm sure this is a duplicate question, though I have been unable to solve my solution particularly because I don't really know how to phrase it in order to search for other questions/solutions, so I'm coming here hoping for some help. Basically, I have spans with classes that assigns a background-color property, and inside those spans are words. I have three of these spans, and each time a user clicks on a span I want the class to change (thus changing the background color and inner text). How do I, after getting to the last-child, add .showing to the first-child and then start over? I have tried various options including if($(".alternate span:last-child").hasClass("showing")) { etc. etc. }, and I attempted to use an array and for loop though I failed to make it work. Newb question, I know, but I can't seem to solve this so as a last resort I'm coming here.

• method for creating PHP templates (ie html with variables)?

  I'm designing my html emails, these are to be a block of html containing variables that i can store in a $template variable. My problem comes with the storing in the variable part. putting all my html into php makes it a pain in the bum to work with. for example, the below code is fine for a simple email but once i start getting nested tables etc its going to get really confusing... $template.= 'Welcome ' . $username . '<br /><br /><br />'; $template.= 'Thank-you for creating an account <br /><br />'; $template.= 'Please confirm your account by click the link below! <br /><br />'; $template.= '<a href="' . $sitepath . '?email=' . $email . '&conf_key=' . $key . '" style="color: #03110A;"><font size="5" font-family="Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif" color="#03110A">' . $key . '</font></a>'; $template.='</body></html>'; is there a way i can still store the html in a $var but not have to write it like this?

• Database/Object Mapping

  Hello everyone, This is a beginner question, but it's been frustrating me... I am using C#, by the way. I'd like to make a few classes, each with their own properties and methods. I would also like to have a database to store certain instances of these classes in case I would ever need to look at them again. So, for example... class Polygon { String name; Double perimiter; int numSides; public Double GetArea() { // ... } } class Circle { String name; Double radius; public void PrintName() { // ... } } Say I've got these classes. I also want a database that has the TABLES "Polygon" and "Circle" with the COLUMNS "name" "perimeter" "radius" etc. And I want an easy way to save a class instance into the database, or pull a class instance out of the database. I have previously been using MS Access for my database stuff, which I don't mind using, but I would prefer if nothing other than .NET need to be installed. I've been researching online a bit, but I wanted to get some opinions on here. I have looked at Linq-to-Sql, but it seems you need Sql-Server. Is this true? If so, I'd really rather not use it because I don't want to have to have it installed everywhere. Anway, I'm just fishing for some ideas/insights/suggestions/etc. so please help me out if you can.   I need to create a schema for an XML file that is pretty flexible. It has to meet the following requirements: Validate some elements that we require to be present, and know the exact structure of Validate some elements that are optional, and we know the exact structure of Allow any other elements Allow them in any order Quick example: XML <person> <age></age> <lastname></lastname> <height></height> </person> My attempt at an XSD: <xs:schema attributeFormDefault="unqualified" elementFormDefault="qualified" xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"> <xs:element name="person"> <xs:complexType> <xs:sequence> <xs:element name="firstname" minOccurs="0" type="xs:string"/> <xs:element name="lastname" type="xs:string"/> <xs:any processContents="lax" minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" /> </xs:sequence> </xs:complexType> </xs:element> </xs:schema> Now my XSD satisfies requirements 1 and 3. It is not a valid schema however, if both firstname and lastname were optional, so it doesn't satisfy requirement 2, and the order is fixed, which fails requirement 4. Now all I need is something to validate my XML. I'm open to suggestions on any way of doing this, either programmatically in .NET 3.5, another type of schema etc. Can anyone think of a solution to satisfy all 4 requirements?

• Collect all fields in form to an array

  Hi everyone, Each div with the class "row" is added upon request from the user, to be able to add multiple items at once. So now is the question how I'll collect all the forms in to an array that PHP can read (like JSON for instance). I'll guess that there's already some easy and effective way of doing this? <div class="container"> <div class="row"> <input type="text" name="value1" id="textfield" /> <input type="text" name="value2" id="textfield" /> <input type="text" name="value3" id="textfield" /> </div> </div> Here's what I would like to achieve out of the shown example: array( array ('value1' => '', 'value2' => '', 'value3' => '') ); Thanks! Update: The form will be handled with PHP and it would be super to be able to do something like a foreach loop on the specific container-div content.
