  • Getting started with zxing on android

    - by amitlicht
Hi I'm trying to add zxing to my project (add a button which calls the scanner upon press). I found this: http://groups.google.com/group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/788eb52a765c28b5 and of course the zxing homesite: http://code.google.com/p/zxing/, but still couldn't figure out what to include in the project classpath to make it all work! as for now, I copied the classes in the first link to my project (with some package name changes), and it runs but crashes after pressing the button and trying to install the barcode scanner. some code: private void setScanButton(){ Button scan = (Button) findViewById(R.id.MainPageScanButton); scan.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() { @Override public void onClick(View v) { IntentIntegrator.initiateScan(MyActivity.this); } }); } resulting error (from logcat): 06-13 15:26:01.540: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1423): Uncaught handler: thread main exiting due to uncaught exception 06-13 15:26:01.560: ERROR/AndroidRuntime(1423): android.content.ActivityNotFoundException: No Activity found to handle Intent { act=android.intent.action.VIEW dat=market://search?q=pname:com.google.zxing.client.android } Ideas?

  • iPhone Feedback Service with PHP

    - by Anish
HI All, Has anybody been able to extract the device tokens from the binary data that iPhone APNS feedback service returns using PHP? I am looking for something similar to what is been implementented using python here http://www.google.com/codesearch/p?hl=en&sa=N&cd=2&ct=rc#m5eOMDWiKUs/APNSWrapper/%5F%5Finit%5F%5F.py&q=feedback.push.apple.com As per the Apple documentation, I know that the first 4 bytes are timestamp, next 2 bytes is the length of the token and rest of the bytes are the actual token in binary format. (http://developer.apple.com/IPhone/library/documentation/NetworkingInternet/Conceptual/RemoteNotificationsPG/CommunicatingWIthAPS/CommunicatingWIthAPS.html#//apple%5Fref/doc/uid/TP40008194-CH101-SW3) I am successfully able to extract the timestamp from the data feedback service returns, but the device token that I get after i convert to hexadecimal using the PHP's built in method bin2hex() is actually different than original device token. I am doing something silly in the conversion. Can anybody help me out if they have already implemented APNS feedback service using PHP? TIA, -Anish

  • Symfony dynamic subdomains

    - by Jamie
Hi all, I'm trying to match subdomains to a customer id in symfony. i.e. i have customer1.example.com and customer2.example.com Domains are stored in a table. When a user goes to customer1.example.com, I would like to get the subdomain, look up the domain name in the database, once matched, it will then deploy the app config for that customer and then store the customer_Id in a global attribute so i know exactly which customer I'm dealing with througout the whole application. The virtual host will have the relevant wildcard servername. Have you managed to achieve this, and if so, how? If not, any ideas would be a great help! I'm thinking about using a filter to do it. :-)

  • JDBC: What is the correct JDBC URL to connect to a RAC database

    - by Vinnie
Hi, We were connecting to Oracle from our code with a simple (custom) JDBC connector class. This class reads the connection properties from a resource file and tries to make a connection to Oracle (thin connection). However, recently the database have moved to a RAC and now the application is unable to connect to the DB. Here is the TNSPING output: Used LDAP adapter to resolve the alias Attempting to contact (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS_LIST=(LOAD_BALANCE=OFF)(FAILOVER=ON) (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=tst-db1.myco.com)(PORT=1604)) (ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=tst-db2.myco.com)(PORT=1604)))(CONNECT_DATA= SERVICE_NAME=mydb1.myco.com)(SERVER=DEDICATED))) OK (80 msec) What would be the correct URL to specify in this case. • A good machine learning technique to weed out good URLs from bad

    - by git-noob
Hi, I have an application that needs to discriminate between good HTTP GET requests and bad. For example: http://somesite.com?passes=dodgy+parameter # BAD http://anothersite.com?passes=a+good+parameter # GOOD My system can make a binary decision about whether or not a URL is good or bad - but ideally I would like it to predict whether or not a previously unseen URL is good or bad. http://some-new-site.com?passes=a+really+dodgy+parameter # BAD I feel the need for a support vector machine (SVM) ... but I need to learn machine learning. Some questions: 1) Is an SVM appropriate for this task? 2) Can I train it with the raw URLs? - without explicitly specifying 'features' 3) How many URLs will I need for it to be good at predictions? 4) What kind of SVM kernel should I use? 5) After I train it, how do I keep it up to date? 6) How do I test unseen URLs again the SVM to decide whether it's good or bad? • Dynamic mod_rewrite or how to plan a dynamic website

    - by Sophia Gavish
Hi, I'm trying to make a clean url for a blog on a dynamic website, but I think that the problem is that I don't know how to plan the website schema. I read about how to use mod_rewrite and all I found is how to make "http://www.website.com/?category&date&post-title" to "http://www.website.com/category/date/post-title". that's works o.k for me. The problem is that If my url looks like "http://www.website.com/blog/?id=34" this method won't work as far as I got it. So, I have two questions: 1. Is there a way to use mod_rewrite (maybe read from a txt file) to read the post title of my blog and rewrite my url by date and post-title? 2. Should I rewrite my website to query the data from one index file in the homepage and use mod_rewrite to write the nice url? should I query also the date and the title of the post instead just the post ID?

  • Does killing a process helps avoids spyware

    - by user23950
I'm downloading something from mediafire which really has many sponsor sites that are not good: ad.xtendmedia.com and mdinfo.com. And possibly the cause of some spyware and adware in my system. Does killing the whole process of firefox and not closing those pop-up windows(ad sites) helps avoid the effects of those bad sites.

  • SBS domain name choice

    - by sandymac
We are about to set up SBS 2011 at my small company < 10 users. My collaborator wants to name the SBS domain "example.local" . I'm of the opinion we should name the SBS domain "corp.example.com" and setup DNS so the "corp" record is a NS record to the SBS server's private IP. FYI: "Example.com" isn't the real domain name and while the website is hosted outside our office, email will be stored on the SBS server in our office after passing though a spam filtering smart host hosted elsewhere too.

  • Accessing original WordPress blog's DB from sub-blogs in network mode

    - by aendrew
I'm helping with a university radio station website that runs WordPress and was recently switched over to Network (Multi-site/multi-user) mode by myself. The setup is as such: The parent site (www.stationID.com) runs a bunch of custom-built plugins to construct things like the show schedule calendar, the "Now Playing" widget, podcast list, et cetera. The new network websites ("wiki.stationID.com", "buddypress.stationID.com" for instance) run the same template as the parent site, but it stops after rendering the first section because the widgets from point 1 grab data from the main site's database that is not available to sub-blogs. My question is: how do I get data from the main site's tables on the sub-domain sub-blogs? A related question is: how do I set the $wpdb->prefix to be the same as the parent site on the child websites without it negatively effecting how the child website pulls data from its own database? Any help would be awesome, thanks!

  • Java interface to Windows communications? (OLE, OPC, DDE)

    - by Jared
I need to integrate an off-the-shelf Windows application with a Java application. At a few key points, I need the Windows application to send an "event" and some data to the Java application. The Windows application anticipated this need, and can be configured to "Poke a DDE Item", "Set an OLE Auto-Property" or "Write an OPC Item". I'm already using JACOB to call COM methods and set COM properties on a COM object. However, I'm guessing that's pretty unrelated to these "event" notification capabilities. Anyone have any experience calling FROM a Windows application to a "DDE Item", "OLE Auto-Property" or "OPC Item" that's actually in a JVM? Any pointers, advice, etc, would be appreciated.

  • Why isn't Google Web Toolkit more popular?

    - by gerdemb
I've recently become intrigued with Google Web Toolkit and have started playing with it on some personal projects. I've noticed though that it doesn't seem to be very popular. For example, two major freelancing job boards (www.elance.com and www.odesk.com) list no jobs for GWT and the list of projects using it on Google's official site is pretty slim http://code.google.com/webtoolkit/app_gallery.html (compare to Django projects for example http://www.djangosites.org/). This seems odd to me as GWT has been around since 2006 and is supported by the Google brand name. It also neatly solves the problem of creating cross-browser completely dynamic websites that I haven't seen possible with any other tool. So, why the lack of acceptance?

  • Parse an HTTP request Authorization header with Python

    - by Kris Walker
I need to take a header like this: Authorization: Digest qop="chap", realm="testrealm@host.com", username="Foobear", response="6629fae49393a05397450978507c4ef1", cnonce="5ccc069c403ebaf9f0171e9517f40e41" And parse it into this using Python: {'protocol':'Digest', 'qop':'chap', 'realm':'testrealm@host.com', 'username':'Foobear', 'response':'6629fae49393a05397450978507c4ef1', 'cnonce':'5ccc069c403ebaf9f0171e9517f40e41'} Is there a library to do this, or something I could look at for inspiration? I'm doing this on Google App Engine, and I'm not sure if the Pyparsing library is available, but maybe I could include it with my app if it is the best solution. Currently I'm creating my own MyHeaderParser object and using it with reduce() on the header string. It's working, but very fragile. Brilliant solution by nadia below: import re reg = re.compile('(\w+)[=] ?"?(\w+)"?') s = """Digest realm="stackoverflow.com", username="kixx" """ print str(dict(reg.findall(s)))

  • Redirect index.php in CodeIgniter

    - by Gabriel Bianconi
Hello. I created a CodeIgniter application and now I'm trying to redirect the urls with index.php to urls without it. My current .htaccess is: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / # Removes trailing slashes (prevents SEO duplicate content issues) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.+)/$ $1 [L,R=301] # Enforce www # If you have subdomains, you can add them to # the list using the "|" (OR) regex operator RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^(www|subdomain) [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.plugb.com/$1 [L,R=301] # Checks to see if the user is attempting to access a valid file, # such as an image or css document, if this isn't true it sends the # request to index.php RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L] The only problem is that the same page is accessible with and without the index.php. For example: http://www.plugb.com/index.php/games/adventure-rpg and http://www.plugb.com/games/adventure-rpg Is there a way to redirect the index.php URLs? Thank you, Gabriel.
