  • Installing multiple MySQL .NET Connectors

    Hi all, I currently have MySQL .NET Connector version 6.2.3 installed. I'd like to try out Database Manager from within IIS7, however, the dependency is on MySQL .NET Connector 5.2. When running the MySQL .NET Connector 5.2 installer, it says there's already an existing MySQL .NET Connector installed, and that this version can not be installed unless the other is uninstalled. Is there anyway to have both of these instances installed? Thanks! -Steve

    I'm brand new to the Entity Framework and trying to learn all it can offer.     Hi, We're getting this error once a day on a script that runs every two hours, but at different times of the day. ERROR at line 1: ORA-04068: existing state of packages has been discarded ORA-04061: existing state of package body "PACKAGE.NAME" has been invalidated ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called: "PACKAGE.NAME" ORA-06512: at line 1 Could someone list what conditions can cause this error so that we could investigate? Thanks. UPDATE: Would executing 'ALTER SESSION CLOSE DATABASE LINK DBLINK' invalidate a state of the package?

    When we say dictionary attack, we don't really mean a real dictionary, do we? My guess is we mean a hacker's dictionary i.e. rainbow tables, right? My point is we're not talking about someone keying different passwords into the login box, we're talking about someone who has full access to your database (which has hashed passwords, not plain passwords) and this person is reversing the hashes, right?

  • What should I check in my ASP.NET application to make sure it won't run out of resources?

    We have a website on IIS7 using ASP.NET Routing that seems as though it might be running out of resources. It just hangs after a few days, there is no error message or apparent crash. We are making sure every .Open command is matched by a .Close command on the database connection. We are doing the same with file Open/Close but there are very few of those. Is there anything else we should check?

    I am trying to get put out a simple site, which would pool the database every few seconds and update the information on the page dynamicly, when theres something new inserted. I am farily new to ruby, but I understand the whole concept of RJS, link_to_function and soforth. The question is, what is the best way how to implement some kind of simple loop, which would run after the page is loaded and update the DOM if there is something new to display.
