  Hello guys..My site url is : Da Factopedia It opens up perfectly in all browsers Firefox, Opera, Safari, Chrome. Even in IE 8 the Home page is perfectly displayed . But if you click on any post page like this one : http://www.dafactopedia.com/2010/03/7-surprising-facts-about-sleep.html the right sidebar starts acting up. It starts floating within the main post area and I have no clue why this happens.   Hello! I want to create a traffic simulator like here: http://www.doobybrain.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/traffic-simulation.gif But I didn't thougt very deep about this. I would create the class car. Every car has his own color, position and so on. And I could create the road with an array. But how to tell the car where to go? Could I hear your ideas? EDIT: Is it forbidden to get new ideas from good programmers? Why do some people want to close this thread? Or were to ask such questions? I dont understand them. :(

• Detecting if a browser is using Private Browsing mode

  I'm building an extranet for a company paranoid about security. They want to make sure that (among other things) their users are browsing the site with the Private Browsing mode switched on in their web browser so that no cookies or history is kept. I found only this http://jeremiahgrossman.blogspot.com/2009/03/detecting-private-browsing-mode.html and http://serverfault.com/questions/18966/force-safari-to-operate-in-private-mode-and-detect-that-state-from-a-webserver The ideal solution would use no or minimal javascript. Would attempting to set a unique cookie work for all browsers and platforms? Anyone done this before? thanks!

  For detecting and responding to mobile user agents, I'm using Mime::Type.register_alias "text/html", :mobile and the approach I'm wondering what is the best approach to test with capybara. This article suggests setting up an iphone driver with Capybara.register_driver :iphone do |app| http://blog.plataformatec.com.br/2011/03/configuring-user-agents-with-capybara-selenium-webdriver/ but I'd like a more flexible approach where the mime type is set via the url extension localhost/index.mobile and where I can do this visit user_path( format: :mobile) Rails understands the extension and sets the format in the params hash, but how do I get the url helper methods to add that to all urls as a file extension?

• Entity framework, adding custom entity to diagram

  Hello I'm using the entity framework that comes with 3.5sp1, and I'm trying to add a custom entity that I will propulate with searchresults from a stored procedure. But I have problems with the designer....... when I pick "Add + Entity" and give it a name, and hit save, the whole diagram stops working...... blah entities namespace could not be found..... all the other entities have lost its reference or summet. Works when I add a "table" to it that exists in database. But when custom it screws everything up. How should I fix this? I've imported the function, I just need to add an entity for it... I've read http://blogs.microsoft.co.il/blogs/gilf/archive/2009/03/13/mapping-stored-procedure-results-to-a-custom-entity-in-entity-framework.aspx but I cant get to step 3 since of all the errors when saving on step 2. /M

• rsync over ssh is not working anymore, while ssh itself is working fine (Write failed: broken pipe)

  This issue started happening after i changed router. This is the scenario: Windows7 Host Ubuntu 10.04 Guest (VirtualBox) Ubuntu 10.04 remote server What i used to do is run a very basic rsync command: rsync -avz --delete /local/path/ username@host:/path/to/remote/directory This worked perfect until i did change adsl provider, and i changed router aswell: now, this happens: rsync on Ubuntu Guest is not working anymore (to any random server), if using this new router rsync on Ubuntu Guest is WORKING, if i switch back to old router i tried a new virtual box ubuntu install, and the command is WORKING with both the routers So, the not-working-combo is oldUbuntu + newRouter. To get things worst, i can state that (on the not-working ubuntu) i ping the remote host plain ssh connection to the remote host is working fine (i can auth, connect, and do stuff on the remote host) • I asked this yesterday, after the input given I'm still having trouble implementing..

  I'm not sure how to fix this or what I did wrong, but whenever I enter in a value it just closes out the run prompt. So, seems I do have a problem somewhere in my coding. Whenever I run the program and input a variable, it always returns the same answer.."The content at location 76 is 0." On that note, someone told me that "I don't know, but I suspect that Program A incorrectly has a fixed address being branched to on instructions 10 and 11." - mctylr but I'm not sure how to fix that.. I'm trying to figure out how to incorporate this idea from R Samuel Klatchko.. Having heard Hanselman say this is something you can do within VS 2010 easily I set out too find information on exactly how to do this but can not seem to find anything. Ignoring the fact that most of the blog posts / articles are over a year old, there just seems to be no clear step by step information on how to do this. Has anyone found the light? where did you learn this information? • How to force a line break after each image in Safari Reader?

  I was unable to activate Safari Reader in a local HTML file, so I cannot give you a running example but only describe my problem: The markup of my blog posts is basically this: <div class="post"> <div class="post-header">Hello, World</div> <div class="post-body"> <p>Look at this picture:</p> <p><img src="http://37prime.com/news/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/safari_icon.png"/></p> <p>Isn't that a nice picture?</p> </div> </div> This looks as expected in all browsers, including Safari. In Safari Reader however, the third paragraph "Isn't that a nice picture?" is floating around the image, instead of being on a paragraph of it's own. Has anybody experienced a similar problem?

  Above: current "stupid" menu. (entire ul/li menu for javascript menu system) + (some li lines as page-specific submenu) Hi folks! With passion for automation and elegancy, but limited knowledge/knowhow, im stuck with "my hands in my hair" as we Dutch say, for my current menu system works perfectly, but is a pain in the a*s to update! So, i would appreciate it greatly, if you can suggest how to automate this in php: how to let the php generate the html menu code basing on a flat menu input file with TABS indented. OLD SITUATION <ul> <!-- about 100 of these <li>....</li> lines --> <li><a href="carrot.php"><p class="mnu" style="background-position:0 -820px"><? echo __("carrot juice") ?></p></a></li> <!-- lots of data, with only little bit thats really the menu itself--> </ul a javascript file reads a ul/li structure as input to build menu of format in that ul/li, the items with a hyperlink and sprite-bg position represent webpages, (inside LI) while items without hyperlink and sprite-bg are just headers of that menusection, (inside H6) to highlight the current page in the menu, the javascript menumaker uses an id number. this number corresponds to the consequtive li that is a webpage, skips h6 headers correctly. these h6 headers are only there for when importing sections of the same menu as submenu. non-li headers are not shown in menu, nore counted by the javascript menu for their ID. to know which page should be shown, i have to count from ID 0, the li items till finding the current webpage in the li structure and then manually put it in each webpage! BUT: changing an item in li order, means stupidly re-counting their entire li again! each webpage has an icon (= sprite bg-position numer), which is also used in the webpage. INTENDED RESULT I dream of, once setting what the current webpage is (e.g carrot.php) the menu system automatically "finds" and "counts" the li's and returns the id nr (for proper highlight of main menu); generates the entire menu html, and depending on which headings are set for submenu, (e.g. meals, drinks) generates those submenu (entire section below each given header); ginally adds h5 highlight inside the li of that submenu item. For the menu, i wish an easily readable, simple plain txt menu that is indented with tabs, (each tab is one depth for example) and further tabs follow for url and sprite position of icon. • How do I alternate table row colors in asp.net mvc using jquery?

  Probably a dumb question but I'm new to MVC and jQuery. I want to alternate the row colors of my tables and I've decided that I'm going to use jQuery to do it. I know that I could write an extension method (http://haacked.com/archive/2008/08/07/aspnetmvc_cycle.aspx), etc but after reading SH's comment on the article at http://haacked.com/archive/2008/05/03/code-based-repeater-for-asp.net-mvc.aspx I've picked jQuery as the solution I want to implement. • What's causing “Session state has created a session id, but cannot save it because the response was

  I'm getting this fault intermittently. I found this link which summarises fairly well what I was able to find on the Google: http://www.wacdesigns.com/2009/02/03/session-state-has-created-a-session-id-but-cannot-save-it-because-the-response-was-already-flushed-by-the-application/ Basically it says you can try setting the web config setting DisplayWhenNewSession, or try kicking the session state thing into life by getting the Session.SessionID in the Session_OnStart. But does anyone: a) have an explanation for this or even better, b) have a tried and tested fix I realise that I can't flush the response after doing anything that would affect the http response header. If I did this it would cause an error every time but this is intermittent. The SessionID should surely be created by ASP.NET at the beginning of the page response automatically, before anything in the ASPX page or the Page_Load (which is where all my flushes are called).

• Can I use Linq to project a new typed datarow?

• Optimising Androidplot

  Seems Androidplot (androidplot.com) website/forums are down so I'll try asking this question here. I have multi touch zoom and scrolling. Similar code to http://mlepicki.com/2012/03/androidplot-multitouch-zoom-scroll/ except that I have a bar graph instead. However with 100 data points it has noticeable lag. Even with 10 bars are just showing. Sounds like its drawing/calculating/etc all bars. Any idea on how I could optimise this? I can't use hardware rendering as I want to support Android 2.1 and the library doesn't support it(it breaks).

• Save the contents of manipulated div to a variable and pass to php file

  I have tried to use AJAX, but nothing I come up with seems to work correctly. I am creating a menu editor. I echo part of a file using php and manipulate it using javascript/jquery/ajax (I found the code for that here: http://www.prodevtips.com/2010/03/07/jquery-drag-and-drop-to-sort-tree/). Now I need to get the edited contents of the div (which has an unordered list in it) I am echoing and save it to a variable so I can write it to the file again. I couldn't get that resource's code to work so I'm trying to come up with another solution. If there is a code I can put into the $("#save").click(function(){ }); part of the javascript file, that would work, but the .post doesn't seem to want to work for me. If there is a way to initiate a php preg_match in an onclick, that would be the easiest. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is there a way to avoid that? I know using this tech Notepad.exe will as the first param passed to Notepad2.exe. but I don't know how to avoid this :(
