• How do I edit git's history to correct an incorrect email address/name

  When I started using git I just did a git init and started calling add and commit. Now I am starting to pay attention and I can see that my commits are showing up as cowens@localmachine, rather than the address I want. It appears as if setting GIT_AUTHOR_EMAIL and GIT_COMMITTER_EMAIL will do what I want, but I still have those old commits with the wrong email address/name. How can I correct the old commits?

• Can I delay selection of a file name?

  XP SP3 I have my system set up so that I do not need to double click on an item to open it. However, I find that items are selected when I move over them swiftly. This is a problem when I want to save a file and inadvertently pass over another file name. It immediately gets selected. Is there a way to delay this selection for, say, a second so that they are not selected so quickly? Thanks. Regards,

  When I use Html.DisplayFor() using a property of the model, it comes out nicely with both a label for the property name and a textbox or label with the property value: Html.DisplayFor(model => model.FirstName) // renders as First Name: Joe Smith But if I try to use the same for something that is in ViewData, it doesn't seem to have any way to specify the text that will be used in the label in the rendered html: Html.Display(ViewData["something"].ToString()) // renders as (no label) something The other Html.Display() parameters don't look helpful: Html.Display(ViewData["something"].ToString(), "TemplateName", "HtmlElementId", {additionalData}) It looks like the only place I might pass the label is with the additionalData param, but I haven't found any examples or docs on how to do this.

• Display separator in Sharepoint AspMenu control

  All I'm trying to do is display a separator (I've tried images & stylesheets) between the primary navigation menu items in Sharepoint. Here is what I want it to look like: Home | Menu1 | Menu2 | Menu3 When I attempt to use the StaticTopSeparatorImageUrl (using a bar image) it results in the following: Home | Menu1 | Menu2 | Menu3 | This is obviously not a separator, and when I use the StaticBottomSeparatorImageUrl the opposite happens. I also tried to style the ms-topnav class to have a left border, which doesn't work because the control doesn't identify the first (or last) item in the menu... So, my next option was to use the Telerik RadMenu, after fighting to get it into Sharepoint I had difficulties getting it to display like the Sharepoint Menu using the SiteMapDataSource (display only the Home item and no children). This seems SO simple, but it is Sharepoint, so nothing is really simple. I'm wondering if there is either a way to make the default Sharepoint separator work correctly that I might have missed, or is there a GOOD Sharepoint menu replacement that actually takes styling into account?

I have tried setting char *envp[1] = {"DISPLAY:0.0"}; and execute 'xhost +' , I dont' see the 'cannot open display' warning, but my program is still not launched. • Admob ads will not display when placed inside a tabview

  I've been trying to get my ads to display in this type of layout. Tabs - LinearLayout - ListView - header. The header is set via addHeaderView and is displaying normally. If I were to move the ads anywhere else they display normally (so its not a setup issue). Using ads in the header of a listview works fine in my other projects. So this seems to be a very specific problem, the ads simply refuse to display when placed in the header of a listview inside a tabhost. My logs show no activity from admob at all. There is either a bug here or limitation of the sdk. Does anyone have any experience or insight into this issue? EDIT I found the solution. It actually had to do with padding that was in the root of my Tabview. For more checkout my answer here

• Sencha Touch 2: List does not display in Panel

  I am working on an MVC app in Sencha Touch 2 and am having trouble getting a list to display in a nested panel. The structure of the app has a main view which is a tab panel. One of the items in the tab panel is a defined panel, xtype: 'homepanel'. An item in this panel is the list, xtype: 'newslist' that is linked to the appropriate store and model files. The list does not display unless I change its parent 'homepanel' to a type, Ext.navigation.View. What am I missing in the definition of 'homepanel' as a Panel that prevents the display of the list? Setting it to some other color other than black "glColor4f(0.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0);" is just fine. I assume that the culprit must be in the Blending function "glBlendFunc (GL_ONE, GL_ONE);" I experimented a lot of combinations with no luck. Has anyone experimented on this one on top of textured 3D in the backgrounds working?

  I need to display price of item for every date in the month. The chart can be Bar chart or plot chart. Question: Suppose there is no data available for 01/15/2010 then, Is there a way to display (01/15/2010) on x axis but no (bar or plot point) corresponding y axis point ? i.e. there will be a empty space between 2 bars or plot points. • Why is display:inline killing IE 8.0 performance?

  I have an image gallery based on this jQuery plugin: http://jqueryfordesigners.com/demo/slider-gallery.html This works really well in Firefox, Chrome and even IE 7.0, but when I try it with more than 50 images in IE 8.0 the performance is incredible slow. Just hovering over the thumbnail brings the CPU load to 100%. At first I thought it's a Javascript problem, so I used the IE profiler, but the results were normal. Next I checked the CSS and finally found the cause: .sliderGallery UL LI { display: inline; } This gets the thumbnails to align horizontally. If I chance it to display:block, performance is fine and the scroller is still working but obviously it looks funny, because the thumbs are aligned vertically. My questions: Why does IE 8 have this problem with many display:inline elements What can I do to solve it I'll gladly provide more information if necessary.

I have a file upload form and whatever file is uploaded suppose(abc.fasta) then i want to pass same name in execute (abc.fasta) function parameter and display function parameter (abc.aln). Workflow goes like this. ----If submit is not true then display only header and form part --- if submit is true then call execute() and get file name from form input --- Then display the save file result in the same page.   Hi all I am using sql server 2005 reporting service to generate report base on a database. There are two columns which are datetime type ColumnA and ColumnB. The report would display a KPI image on this report by comparing these two columns.Below is the expression for selecting image SWITCH(DateDiff("d",Fields!ColumnA.Value,Fields!ColumnB.Value)<0,"kpi_r", DateDiff("d",Fields!ColumnA.Value,Fields!ColumnB.Value)>0,"kpi_g", DateDiff("d",Fields!ColumnA.Value,Fields!ColumnB.Value)=0,"kpi_y") For most of the records, the image is correct. Only for one record, the result is very strange. For this record ColumnA=2010-04-23 08:00:00 ColumnB=2010-04-22 17:00:00 It would display kpi_r, it displayed kpi_y. I have checked the value of DateDiff(d,Fields!ColumnA.Value,Fields!ColumnB.Value) in the SSMS, the value is -1. Why does it display kpi_y? Does anyone meet this problem before? Best Regards,

• drupal display submenu when parent has been selected

  I've have a menu structure that has a depth of 3 levels on a drupal 6 CMS. When I click on a level 1 that has children, the level 2 menu items display fine. If the level 2 has children, it is not showing the level 3. If I check the expanded box the level 3 is displayed however, it displays all the time irrespective of the level 2 that has been selected. It seems to display whenever it's parent level 1 is selected. For further information, the menu items are a mixture of custom links & content links. i.e. Links I've enetered manually when creating the menu and others generated by when creating a node or view display. All I want is to show the children if there are any for the selected parent. Am I missing something fundamental here? Thanks Steve
