    I've download a trial of Altova UModel and am starting using UML. As a practical beginning I am modelling a personal information manager application, which includes a web bookmark managing. A Bookmark can belong to many (or no) Tags at once and a Tag can contain many (or no if all the bookmarks it contained were deleted) bookmarks. The relation has to be both-way navigable - a user has to be able to see all Bookmarks with a particular Tags ans all Tags of a Bookmark. What is the correct UML relation between Bookmark and Tag classes? As far as I understand UML now, it is an Association (not an Aggregation). But for a 2-way navigable many-to-many relation I can specify ends roles as "memberEnd" or "when navigableOwnedEnd", graphically the connection looks the same in both cases (an arrow) (which as I understand means navigability) but a property appears in the class box in case only when "memberEnd" is used. How should I specif it in the model If I mean both-way navigable many-to-many relation there?

    I'm creating a slideshow where each slide can have: - a video or a still - 1 audio track or many (up to 3) - 1 button or many (up to 3) I was thinking that each slide can be it's own object, and then I would pass the video, audio, buttons, etc., into it as parameters: package { import flash.media.Video; public class Section { public function Section (video:Video, still:myPhotoClass, audiotrack:Sound, button:myButtonClass) { // can have video OR a still // can have 1 audio track or several // can have 1 button or more } } I'm not sure how to go about approaching this since there can be multiples of certain items (audio, buttons) and also two items are sort-of-optional in the sense that there can be ONE or the OTHER (video/still). For example, is this something that I should just avoid passing as parameters altogether, using a different approach (getters/setters, maybe)?

  • How can I create a class diagram with NetBeans' 6.8 UML module?

    It seems to me the UML module of NetBeans is a bit too much hidden. In NetBeans 6.5 it was very easy to create an UML diagram. No plugin installation necessary or sth. like. Read my post where I found a zip file to install the UML module. And now, after this procedure, I got the UML module back, but it seems to me that I cannot create class diagram with it. Do you know how I can do this with NetBeans 6.8? Update1: There seems to be no support Update2: Nevertheless somebody seems to got it working.

    Hello, I'm using (trying to use) jQuery to add a class to the first paragraph of every div with class of ".djBio" My problem is that it's only adding the class to the first div.djBio, not all divs with that class. Here's the code.     Hi, I'm trying to create a virtual wiki but I already struggle with In your Class Editor, create a new class called "XWikiServerClass" Further reading in the DevGuide / DataModel shows that I'm not alone. I understand the words saying but I don't get the how-to as there is no option in the class-editior of creating new classes. Navigating to class editor shows an info box No class is defined in this wiki document. You can create one by adding properties from the panel on your right, or you can choose another class to edit from the list below. Ok, I added 'XWikiServerClass' and would have expected to be able to add a type class but that's not possible. I've tried a few properties but nothing shows up as a class in class editor.

  • Porting C++-code from Windows to Unix: systemcalls colliding with name of functions

    Hi I'm porting some crufty C++ Windows-code to Linux, which uses functions called "open" and "close" inside every class... Very bad style, or? Luckily that wasn't a problem in windows, since their systemcalls are named different. When I try to call the systemcalls open() or close() I'm getting some compiler error about "no matching function for call for class:open()". I can't rename all our functions named "class::open" and "class::close" in the whole code, and I have to use open() and close() since I'm working with serial ports. So my question is: How can I tell the compiler, which open I mean? How can I escape or hide the namespace of a class in C++?

I need jquery to check if an element exists, and if so, add a class to a different element.     Hi, So I'm working on creating a visualization for a data structure in Java. I already have the implementation of the data structure (Binary Search Tree) to start with, but I need to add some additional functionality to the included node class. As far as conventions and best practices are concerned, should I create a subclass of the node with this added functionality or should I just modify what I have and document it there? My question is similar to what's asked here but that's a little over my head. I know it probably doesn't matter much for what I'm doing, so I'm asking this more as a general thing.

    In C++, I have a certain template function that, on a given condition, calls a template function in another class. The trouble is that the other class requires the full definition of the first class to be implemented, as it creates the second class and stores them and manages them in similar fashions. The trouble is that naturally, they fall as one class, and thus have some tight interop, except that I need them to be two classes for threading reasons. A sort of, master for all threads, one child per thread, system. Any advice on how this can be implemented?
