  • How to map old paths to Drupal paths

    - by kidrobot
I'm converting a Wordpress blog to Drupal and need to map the WP paths to the new Drupal ones. What's the best practice for doing this? There are only around a hundred pages to map. I've been experimenting with the URL Alter module, which provides an alternative to messing with custom_url_rewrite functions settings.php but keep getting 404. Waiting to hear back from the module maintainer if this is what the module is intended for. In the meantime I am wondering how others do this? Should I be using .htaccess?

  • Apache: Redirect blog.foobar.com to www.foobar.com

    - by Steve Griff
Hello, I have a site at blog.foobar.com that I have closed down, and I want any page requested there to be forwarded to www.foobar.com I want my VirtualHost config to do this for me. I currently have the following lines that does nearly what I want but not exactly: redirect permanent / http://www.foobar.com Unfortunately what happens is that if I ask for blog.foobar.com instead of forwarding to www.foobar.com it serves the pages on blog.foobar.com instead. Is there a way doing this in the VirtualHost config or should I use a .htaccess file instead? Regards Steve

  • Using Timthumb to Resize Images from CKEditor

    - by Edward Coleridge Smith
I am using CKEditor to do basic text and image input into my website. I have noticed that it is quite sporadic in it's method of generating HTML for images when you add them. (Sometimes it might use height and width tags, other times it might use CSS). I use Timthumb for on the fly image resizing on a number of other websites and find it very useful. I use a mod_rewrite rule in my .htaccess file to allow me to create domains like http://localhost/images/800x600/image.jpg and achieve resizing. I would like to somehow incorporate this into CKEditor. I cannot find how to do this looking through the documentation so I have tried post-processing the data produced by CKEditor using Regex, however as mentioned before CKEditor seems to be too sporadic to be able to get this to work all the time. Anyone else done this before? How did you achieve it?

  • apache mod_rewrite rule in httpd.conf for modifying some paths, but not others

    - by wallyk
I'm having quite a challenge creating an appropriate rewrite rule for Apache/2.2.14 on Fedora 10. I'm working through the CodeIgniter-Doctrine tutorial which uses an .htaccess file. (Search for Removing “index.php” from CodeIgniter urls about 10% down.) But since that's not recommended for a production server, I'm trying to tweak it to work in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf. <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName ci_doctrine DocumentRoot /var/www/html/ci_doctrine ErrorLog /var/log/httpd/cid-error_log CustomLog /var/log/httpd/cid-access_log common <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine on RewriteLog /var/log/httpd/cid_rewrite RewriteLogLevel 9 # RewriteCond ^/css/style.css$ (these have bad syntax, but that's beside the point) # RewriteRule ^/css/style.css$ /css/style.css [L] RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] </IfModule> <IfModule !mod_rewrite.c> ErrorDocument 404 /ci_doctrine/index.php </IfModule> </VirtualHost> It seems like the tutorial .htaccess rules properly test for existing files and then not alter the URL in such cases, but the rewrite log says that the conditions are true (that is, the file does not exist) even though it's there. 127.0.0.1 - • Ajax cache control

    - by Brian
Hello, I am having a problem with ajax requests in Internet Explorer and in Chrome - I cannot bust the cache. Normal pages don't have the problem - it's just the ajax requests. I know that one workaround is to append a random query string variable to the end of the URL. However, I don't want to lose all the benefits of caching, I just want the browser to pick up the new file if the version on the server is different from the cached version. I have tried manually setting the ajax POST header, to no avail: xmlHttp.setRequestHeader("Cache-Control", "must-revalidate"); Adding this to my .htaccess file doesn't work either: <FilesMatch "\.(js|css).*" Header set Cache-Control: "max-age=172800, public, must-revalidate" </FilesMatch Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Brian

  • Problems with mod_Rewrite

    - by Giorgi
Hello, Originally I had following .htaccess file: php_value display_errors 1 php_value error_reporting 7 AddDefaultCharset utf-8 Options -Indexes <Files ~ ".*\.(info|tpl)$"> Order allow, deny Deny from all </Files> RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L,QSA] Which triggered 500 internal server error, so I moved first two lines to the php.ini file. after that, error disappeared, but redirect is not working, it simply redirects to the empty page, error log shows: file not found also, another log shows: PHP Warning: Unknown: open_basedir restriction in effect. File() is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/tmp/:/usr/local/:/usr/bin) in Unknown on line 0 I tried to write in RewriteLog which triggered 500 server error again A little help? • Problems with Routing URLs using CGI and Bottle.py

    - by Risingson
I've been having difficulty getting anything more than a simple index / to return correctly using bottle.py in a CGI environment. When I try to return /hello I get a 404 response. However, if I request /index.py/hello import bottle from bottle import route @route('/') def index(): return 'Index' @route('/hello') def hello(): return 'Hello' if __name__ == '__main__': from wsgiref.handlers import CGIHandler CGIHandler().run(bottle.default_app()) And here is my .htaccess file DirectoryIndex index.py <ifmodule mod_rewrite.c=""> RewriteEngine on RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.py/$1 [L] </ifmodule> I copied much of the code from here as I'm using DH and it seemed relevant: http://blog.coderonfire.com/2010/02/running-bottle-python-micro-framework.html Thanks for helping.

  • Apache ErrorDocument not working for PHP 500 error

    - by Jason
I have a number of ErrorDocuments setup in my .htaccess file for errors such as 404, 401, 403 etc which all redirect to my error page but the ErrorDocument set for a 500 error is never displayed when PHP reports a 500. The 500 code is sent to the browser and the output is blank. Is there something special I need to do to enable 500 error documents for use with PHP? My directives look like this: ErrorDocument 401 /errorpage.php?error=401 ErrorDocument 403 /errorpage.php?error=403 ErrorDocument 404 /errorpage.php?error=404 ErrorDocument 500 /errorpage.php?error=500 I've looked through the php.ini and can't see anything that would obviously override the Apache settings and there are no ErrorDocument directives in my httpd.conf either. Anywhere else I should be looking? Thanks in advance.

  • 1 domain.. 2 server and 2 applications

    - by basit.
i have a site like twitter.com on server one and on server two i have forum, which path is like domain.com/forum on server one i wanted to implement wild card dns and put main domain on it. but on server two i wanted to keep forum separate, i cant give sub-domain forum.domain.com, because all its links are already put in search engines and link back to domain.com/forum. so i was wondering, how can i put domain and wild card dns on server one and still able to give path on server 2 for domain.com/forum (as sub-folder). any ideas? do you think htaccess can do that job? if yes, then how?

  • Eclipse + PDT hides files extensions

    - by pzearfoss
Eclipse is now hiding file extensions in PDT, in the PHP Explorer. They show up on tabs when the file is opened. This applies to files of all types. While annoying, it didn't become problematic until I started including the .htaccess files in the list. They now show up with no filename at all. I've scoured the prefs and the web looking for a resolution. Anyone had this happen or have an idea of how to fix it? Running Eclipse 3.5.2 PDT 2.1 on MacOS 10.5

I want to add the title of the article to the url for SEO purposes like http://mysite.com/dbtable_id/article-title (eg. http://mysite.com/89348/hello-world) I like this approach because I don't need to change the PHP code since it will still look up the article by dbtable_id. All I have to do is append url friendly titles to relevant links in template files and add one more rule to a .htaccess file. Is there anything I should be concerned about? Am I following best practices? Will the possibility for mismatch between "dbtable_id" and "article-title" affect SEO?

  • ServerAlias www.example.com is not recognized

    - by Tianzhou Chen
Below is my config file: NameVirtualHost 12.34.56.78:80 < VirtualHost 12.34.56.78:80 ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName domain1.com ServerAlias www.domain1.com DocumentRoot /srv/www/domain1.com/public_html1/ ErrorLog /srv/www/domain1.com/logs/error.log CustomLog /srv/www/domain1.com/logs/access.log combined < /VirtualHost < VirtualHost 12.34.56.78:80 ServerAdmin [email protected] ServerName domain2.com ServerAlias www.domain2.com DocumentRoot /srv/www/domain2.com/public_html1/ ErrorLog /srv/www/domain2.com/logs/error.log CustomLog /srv/www/domain2.com/logs/access.log combined < /VirtualHost The thing is when I put www.domain1.com into browser, apache2 doesn't retrieve the web page resides in /srv/www/domain1.com/public_html1/, instead, it gets the page from the default document root defined in another file. However, if I put www.domain2.com, everything works fine. I don't see any difference between two VirtualHost config block, so I wonder what does make the difference. BTW, I haven't put any .htaccess file under their document root. Thanks for your advice! Tianzhou

  • mod_rewrite apache

    - by Peter
is there any way to hide redirected url, here is what I think: RewriteEngine On RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://minteddomain.com/mint/pepper/tillkruess/downloads/tracker.php?url=http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI}&force So the long redirected url http://minteddomain.com/mint/pepper/tillkruess/downloads/tracker.php?url=http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} to something shorter like /mintedomain.com/track/ It is possible? Adrian edit: Andrew: This is a stats software Mint (haveamint.com) with File Download tracker plugin. The File Download tracker works in this way: in .htaccess every file (zip, rar, txt,...) is redirected to the tracker.php file (because the stats): http://mydomain.com/mint/pepper/tillkruess/downloads/tracker.php?url=http://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} So the redirected url look like this for a zip file: http://minteddomain.com/mint/pepper/tillkruess/downloads/tracker.php?url=http://mydomain/downloads/apple.zip This redirected URL is very long and ugly. The best for me would be to redirect this redirected URL to something shorter URL: example: http://mydomain.com/track/downloads/apple.zip.. So the http://mydomain.com/track would be the http://minteddomain.com/mint/pepper/tillkruess/downloads/tracker.php

  • Hide script extension

    - by Ali
I have a html form that posts to a python script test.py. If someone tries to access the script directly, it redirects them to the form. I not using a web framework, just straight python cgi programming. My website is hosted on a shared hosting provider that allows me access to a .htaccess file. I wanted to know if there was a way to have the form post to the script and in the address bar show mydomain.com/test/ and not mydomain.com/test.py ? Thanks.

  • Combining deflate and minify - am i creating overhead?

    - by Mark Nolan
I minify my css and js files on the fly with google.codes minify. I have also set my .htaccess to use deflate on all my css and js files - the reason beeing some js files (like shadowbox and tinymce) reference to other js files in the code. So i'm compressing with apache deflate and also minify compresses some js and css files with gzip - am i creating overhead by doing this - first gzipping (minify) and then zlib (deflate) will run through again. Or will apache deflate ignore the already gzipped files having the attributes set by minify in the headers. Anyone have any experiences with this?

  • WAMP not sending file headers (content-type) correctly

    - by Industrial
Hi! I cant get a PHP file to send correct headers at my WAMP server. Wouldn't be a problem normally except that is phpMyAdmin that is freaking out right now. Here's the row that the file that merges the css files together in phpmyadmin uses to send the output as CSS. header('Content-Type: text/css; charset=UTF-8'); I have also putted a .htaccess file in the phpmyadmin directory: AddType text/css .css Neither is working. What can I do to make sure that this file is interpreted as a CSS by firefox?

  • Can't get max_post_size php variable set in lunar pages.

    - by Behrooz Karjooravary
I need to increase max post size and upload size for php to use the audio module of drupal. I read this has to be set in php.ini. However I don't think I have access to that file in lunar pages. I also read it can also be set in .htaccess. However it doesn't change anything. I tried: php_value post_max_size "40M" php_value upload_max_filesize "40M" i also tried: php_value post_max_size 40M php_value upload_max_filesize 40M On localhost it says restart webserver. But this is not possible on shared host. Could that be the problem?

  • routing problem in codeigniter

    - by Obay
I'm new to CodeIgniter and routing. I have a Login controller whose index() loads up a view to enter a username/password. In the view, the form has action="login/authenticate". Login-authenticate() determines if the login is valid or not. If it's valid, redirect('lobby'), if not redirect('login') routes.php: $route['default_controller'] = "login" config.php: $config['base_url'] = "http://localhost/dts/"; $config['index_page'] = "index.php"; The problem is that when i go to http://localhost/dts/ , click login, I am correctly (?) redirected to http://localhost/dts/login/authenticate but the browser says Object not found!. But when I go to http://localhost/dts/index.php/ (with trailing slash), it works correctly (I get redirected to http://localhost/dts/index.php/login/authenticate, and am logged in) I tried removing "index.php" by using a .htaccess: RewriteEngine on RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|images|robots\.txt) RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /index.php/$1 [L] and it would no longer open even the http://localhost/dts/ I'm confused.. what's going on?

  • Uploadify refuses to upload WMV, FLV and MP4 files - SOLVED

    - by Jon Winstanley
The uploadify plugin for JQuery seems very good and works for most file types. However, it allows me to upload all file types apart from the ones I need! Namely .WMV, .FLV and .MP4 Uploads of any other type work. I have already tried changing the fileExt parameter and also tried removing it altogether. I have testing in Google Chrome, IE7 and Firefox and none work for these file types. I have a ton of local projects already and uploading is not an issue on any other project, I even use the same example files (This is the first time I have used Uploadify) Is there a known reason for this behaviour? EDIT: Have found the issue. I had forgotten to add my usual .htaccess file to the example project.

  • Password Protected Wordpress MU

    - by HollerTrain
I have a MU site related to Doctors and they will be publishing information that I cannot let outside sources and robots view. Is there a way that when you go to the main domain url, it shows a user/pass login for WP. I would set up the user/pass in the backend. Then they would login, then be able to view the website? I can't have it load up for anyone, I need the website to be password protected to even view the website in general. I know I can use .htaccess to have a user/pass, but it would be ideal to use the user/pass generated by WP so I don't have to mess with code when I create a user. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Django and mod_python config

    - by Peter
My Django project is placed in /www/host1/htdocs/my/project, www and my are links to other actual folders. Apache has mod_python enabled. I have a .htaccess in project folder: SetHandler python-program PythonHandler django.core.handlers.modpython SetEnv DJANGO_SETTINGS_MODULE project.settings PythonDebug On PythonOption django.root /my/project PythonPath "['/www/host1/htdocs/my/project'] + sys.path" I suppose my site should be accessible from http://host1/my/project, but I see the following error: ImportError: Could not import settings 'project.settings' (Is it on sys.path? Does it have syntax errors?): No module named project.settings Can somebody give any suggestions?

  • XAMPP is caching .html files running as PHP

    - by Lee
I have XAMPP (latest version) installed on my Mac OS 10.6.3 I've added the following to .htaccess because I want .html to be interpreted as PHP. AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html The problem is that the default XAMPP config seems to be caching .html files as static... so even though the PHP statements inside are being called (for example, 'echo time()' in index.html displays the dynamic output)... the actual file is being cached. When I make changes to a .html file, I've having to restart Apache for it to load the newest changes. Looking at httpd.conf, it looks like it's loading the following cache mods.. LoadModule file_cache_module modules/mod_file_cache.so LoadModule cache_module modules/mod_cache.so LoadModule disk_cache_module modules/mod_disk_cache.so LoadModule mem_cache_module modules/mod_mem_cache.so Any idea how to implement a system whereby it checks the timestamp of the file, before loading it from cache? Thanks!

  • Remove index.php in CodeIgniter

    - by Gabriel Bianconi
Hello. I'm trying to remove the 'index.php' from CI Urls. I've tried many solutions, none of them worked. I've already set these variables in 'config.php': $config['index_page'] = ""; $config['uri_protocol'] = "REQUEST_URI"; And my current .htaccess is: Options +FollowSymLinks RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^plugb.com$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.plugb.com/$1 [R=301,L] RewriteCond $1 !^(index\.php|files|robots\.txt) RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d RewriteRule ^(.*)$ index.php/$1 [L,QSA] The www prefix part works fine. But the 'index.php' part doesn't. If you want to check the webpage, here is it: http://www.plugb.com/index.php/home

  • Hide *.inc.php from website visitors

    - by Ghostrider
I have a script myscript.inc.php which handles all urls that look like /script-blah I accomplish this by using following .htaccess RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^script-(.*)$ myscript.inc.php?s=$1 [QSA,L] However users could also access it this way by typing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah I would like to prevent that. I tried <Files ~ "\.inc\.php$"> Order deny, allow Deny from all </Files> and RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} \.inc\.php RewriteRule .* - [F,L,NS] They both prevent users from viewing /myscript.inc.php?s=blah but they also cause /script-blah to return 403... Is there a way to do this correctly?
