    I am trying to replicate this fix ( http://sebduggan.com/posts/ie6-gzip-bug-solved-using-isapi-rewrite ) with Apache mod_rewrite, but with no success... Can somebody help me translate those ISAPI rules to APACHE mod_rewrite? I don't know how to 'translate' those rules...   • IE 6 bug? width: 987

    I'm having a very weird issue in IE6. If I set a div container do the width of 987px it adds a spacing between the container and an absolute positioned element inside. Any other width works fine, it's just 987. Is there something I'm not seeing?   • Video not playing in IE in hidden div using JW Player, SWFObject and FancyZoom

    Hi all, I have a video that is meant to start playing when a user clicks on an image and said image opens a FancyZoom overlay. It works fine in every browser except IEs. If I place the video in a div that is not hidden (display:none actually), the video starts as expected. So it seems there is a problem with either Flash, JW Player, SWFObject or any combination of these when trying to load a video in a hidden div. Anyone know any workarounds? I tried modifying the FancyZoom library (see my fork: http://github.com/lgomez/fancy-zoom/blob/master/prototype/js/fancyzoom.js) so I could use a callback to inject the video AFTER the zoom effect was completed but that did'n work. Thanks!

    I am facing issues with text box size when veiwing in Fire Fox 3.6. < input class="dat" type="text" name="rejection_reason" size="51" maxlength="70" onchange="on_change();" style is as: .dat { font-family : verdana,arial,helvetica; font-size : 8pt; font-weight : bold; text-align : left; vertical-align : middle; background-color : White; } Text box size in Fire Fox is bit smaller than IE6. Not sure why IE6 and FireFox displaying text box of diff size.

    I have the following navigation where .topNav has position:relative and subnav has position:absolute. I cant get the sublist to appear over the main list due to z-index problems. This seems to be a known problem. <ul> <li class="topNav">About Us <ul class="subNav"><li> Subsection A</li><li>Subsection B</li></ul> </li> </ul> Does anyone know of a workaround? UPDATE http://brh.numbera.com/experiments/ie7_tests/zindex.html shows exacly the problem I have. My original posting was in the context of a list but I have reduced the problem to the fact that z-index dosn't seem to work when have an element with position:absolute inside a parent element with position:relative

  • IE image map remains clickable behind another div

    I have an Image Map of the United States. When you click on a state, the map fades out and a map of that state appears with an image map of the area codes in the state. In Firefox, Safari, and Chrome, the state map becomes clickable and the United States map becomes unclickable until you close the sate popover. However in Internet Explorer, the United States map remains clickable through the state popover, and I cannot click on any area codes.     We are using window.location.href to navigate the user to a page. Also, we have configured the window.onbeforeunload event to alert users in case there are any unsaved changes. window.onbeforeunload = confirmBeforeClose; function confirmBeforeClose() { if (jwd.global.inEditMode) return "Your changes will not be saved :) and you will be punished to death"; } In places where there are unsaved changes, and I try to use window.location.href to navigate the user, I get the alert message. It works fine if I click OK on the popup. However, if I click CANCEL, the JS throws an unspecified error at window.location.href. Any help is appreciated.

    I am developing a Java EE web application using Struts. The problem is with Internet Explorer caching. If an user logs out he can access some pages because they are cached and no request is made. If I hit refresh it works fine. Also if an user goes to login page again it won't redirect him because that page is also cached. Two solutions come to my mind: Writing an Interceptor (servlet filter like) to add to response header no-cache etc. Or or put <meta> tags at each page. Which one should I do?

    Please consider the following: NSString *myText = @"mary had a little lamb"; NSString *regexString = @"mary(.*?)little"; for)NSString *match in [myText captureComponentsMatchedByRegex:regexString]){ NSLog(@"%@",match); } This will output to the console two things: 1) "mary had a little" 2) "had a" What I want is just the 2nd bit of information "had a". Is there is a way of matching a string and returning just the inner part? I'm fairly new to Objective C, this feels a rather trivial question yet I can't find a less messy way of doing this than incrementing an integer in the for loop and on the second iteration storing the "had a" in an NSString.

I understand that profile tabs don't support referencing external javascript but even my inline tags are not showing up on profile pages.     I'm trying to horizontally and vertically center a modal window inside a div. I want it to be cross browser compatible. You can see from the picture below that when I resize IE8 then click, "show modal" button it displays not exactly horizontally centered. This does not seem to be an issue with Chrome. Any thoughts?     I've got this table: <table id="correctness" style="overflow: hidden;"> <tr><td style="overflow: hidden;"> <div id="correctness-message"></div> <span class="hide"> <button type="button" class="hide" onclick="new DisplayEffect('correctness').Hide(500);">Hide</button> </span> </td> </tr> </table> and a function for resizing the table: function resize(element, size) { element.style.height = size + "px";}; which is called for a certain amount of time (e.g. 1 second) with the ID of table (i.e. "correctness") in order to resize the table from zero height to its full height. This code works in Firefox and Chrome but it doesn't work in IE8. What it does is that it displays right away whole table even thought the height set in "resize" method is much lower. It seems that the cell sets the height of parent table and not the other way around. Is it possible to change the behaviour? I like changing the height of the table better because I can set visibility of the table easily. Thanks for any help!
