Rails is caching when I don't want it to. Why?

Rails is caching the index method of one of my controllers. It's a very simple application and only has like 2 controllers and a handful of actions each. The weird thing is I don't have any caching in my application at all, at least not explicitly. The pages get uncached if I restart passenger. Does rails do some kind of automatic page caching? There are no files in the public directory The page is returning a 200 header I have no caching blocks in my views (I use haml, if that matters) I have no action, controller, or page caching defined The request is hitting rails, verified by the production log I have the following in my production.rb: config.cache_classes = true config.action_controller.consider_all_requests_local = false config.action_controller.perform_caching = true config.action_view.cache_template_loading = true

When transactionManager is not named "transactionManager" ...

I am trying Spring 3(.0.2.RELEASE) and JPA2 and Hibernate 3.5.1-Final... One thing upsets me is that spring seems only accept a transaction Manager named "transactionManager" If I don't name it "transactionManager" , Spring will throws NoSuchBeanDefinitionException: No bean named 'transactionManager' is defined. DLL configuration file in asp.net site

Hi, I've made a .net 2.0 librabry project, that results in a dll. I've made an app.config file in my project, with settings used in the dll, with the intention that they can be changed later. I'm attempting to use the dll in an asp.net web application now, so I made the reference to my other project's output, and I see that the dll is copied over to the site's bin folder, and everything works. However, the configuration file is not copied. When I manually copy the app.config and rename it to myDll.config, it has no influence. Hi, I created a custom yaml handler, myRunnerConfigHandler, and placed it under apps/frontend/lib/myRunnerConfigHandler.class.php and created a new config_handler and placed it under apps/frontend/config/config_handler.yml Now, under config_handler.yml,I placed my configuration for my new rundown: modules/*/config/rundown.yml: class: myRundownConfigHandler Basically, under each module, I want to have a yaml file under /apps/frontend/modules/home/config/rundown.yml However no rundown.yml files are being seen. Is there something else I need to do before rundown.ymls are seen? Thanks

Microsoft JScript runtime error: ASPx is undefined

I'm getting this error all over the place in my web application and trying to figure out why. The error is always for some control, ASPxClientTextBox for example. So far the only thing I've found as a potential fix is to check the httphandlers section of the .net web.config (the one in C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\CONFIG\web.config) and make sure an entry for "WebResource.axd" exists, which it does. Any idea's what's going on or where I should look?

Rails 2.3.14 setting expire_after for sessions is ignored

I have next config in my environment.rb: config.action_controller.session_store = :cookie_store config.action_controller.session = { :expire_after => 14.days, :domain => DOMAIN, :session_key => '_session', :secret => 'some_string' } Setting session_store to active_record_store or mem_cache_store didn't help. Also i've tried just setting cookie from controller (with all founded options for expire): cookies[:test] = { :value => 'test' , :expires => 3600.to_i.from_now.utc } In both ways all sessions and cookies are deleted after closing browser window - they are only for browser session. I've tried almost all variants founded in the Internet - no luck( My config is: Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, rails 2.3.14, ruby Enterprise Edition 1.8.7, Phusion Passenger version 3.0.11 and Nginx compiled by Phusion Passenger. I've an options that it's Nginx not allowing setting some headers but also didn't find any solution. Any help appreciated! Thanks UPD. i've tried to put all configs for sessions to config/initializers/session_store.rb - nothing changed. i have a feeling that it's not a rails problem. may it be phusion + nginx error? i don't even know how to check where the problem is.

Nothing has worked. Any ideas?

I'm trying to put together a really simple module with one .py source file in it, and have already run into a roadblock. I was going to call it scons-config but import scons-config doesn't work in Python. I found this SO question and looked at PEP8 style guide but am kind of bewildered, it doesn't talk about two-word-name conventions. What's the right way to deal with this? module name: SconsConfig? scons_config? sconsconfig? scons.config? name of the single .py file in it: scons-config.py? scons_config.py?

Update: I don't think it matters, but I'm working with LINQ to Entities 4.0.

I have used the following code to get the document root. $path = get_file_dir(); function get_file_dir() { global $argv; return realpath($argv[0]); } Below code includes config.php and config.php has the $setuprun variable with a value. if((file_exists("$path/admin/config.php"))) { include_once "$path/admin/config.php"; } if($setuprun=="true") { //do some code } In my system, it takes the document root like /home/myname/myfolder and the variable $setuprun has the value and the code works perfectly. But in another user's system, it shows the following error. Notice: Undefined variable: setuprun in /usr/local/www/chat/setup.php on line 22. He is using FreeBSD 8.2 Stable with MySQL 5, PHP5 and Apache 2.2. Can anyone please help me to solve this error?

Rails 3 namespacing requires model to be defined twice?

I'm pulling my hair out trying to understand namespacing in Rails 3. I've tried following a few different tutorials, and the only way I can get my models to work is if I define my model in both the base directory and my namespace directory. If I only define the model in the namespace directory it expects it to define both Model and Namespace::Model, as below: LoadError (Expected .../app/models/plugins/chat.rb to define Chat): or LoadError (Expected .../app/models/plugins/chat.rb to define Plugins::Chat): I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I could really use a pointer in the right direction. How to set up site specific configuration vs application configuration in Zend Framework?

Being fairly new to Zend Framework, I've been reading and trying out various tutorials on the web and books I've purchased. One thing all the tutorials do is hard code certain values into into the bootstrap or other code. For example, setting the title: $this-_view-headTitle('MySite'); I realize this can be set in the application.ini file, but I don't think that is appropriate either if you are distributing the application to other sites. I would be interested in hearing ideas where application specific settings are set in the application.ini file and loaded: $application = new Zend_Application( APPLICATION_ENV, APPLICATION_PATH.'/configs/application.ini' ); Then somewhere in the bootstrap, checking for a config.ini file and adding these to currently existing application config array, and if config.ini does not exist, retrieving such site specific configs from a database and writing the config.ini file (Obviously the file deleted and rewritten if a value is changed in the database). I don't need to see how the file is written or what not... just a general idea of how others are handling such things. Or provide different ideas of doing this? I would rather end up using something like this when setting various site specific configurations: $this->_view->headTitle($config->site->title); Hope this makes sense :-)

MySQL Join a Table if Exists Question

I have a DB which has a table called "config". This table could possibly have a "config_cstm" table that is related by the id to the config table. I was wondering - is there a way to dynamically check for the existence of this table in one simple select statement? In other words, something like: "select * from config (IF EXISTS config_cstm THEN LEFT OUTER JOIN config_cstm ON config.id = config_cstm.id_c" I know how I would go about checking for the existence of an existing table in PHP. I was wanting to do this all in one MySQL statement though. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Path Inclusion/Global variable not working?

Simply put, my config file includes my database class, and the config file has in it: global $db; $db = new database(DB_HOST, DB_NAME, DB_USER, DB_PASS); That file is root/config.php Moving on to root/functions/func.newpage.php doesn't have any includes/requires, and uses $db-classfunction since the file I'm working with: root/newpage.php - requires the config file, as well as func.newpage.php. However I still come up with: Undefined variable db. Anything you guys are seeing I'm not? Thanks! Let me know if more details are needed.
