• Interface Builder and Xcode integration not working

  After having installed the iPhone SDK 3.1.2, Interface Builder is not in sync with Xcode anymore. The light indicator at the bottom of the XIB window is grey. IB doesn't see any files from the Xcode project. Xcode is always open when I start IB. I tried rebooting. No luck. I tried removing the preferences files for Xcode/IB. No luck. I tried reinstalling Xcode/IB. Still no luck. This page explains how IB monitors the changes in Xcode. While it was an interesting read, it didn't provide any help about how to investigate my problem. Any help would be appreciated. EDIT Here's additional information. I enabled the debug logs for launchd, and I noticed the following line that appears every time Interface Builder is started: [0x0-0x1b01b].com.apple.InterfaceBuilder3[315]: Couldn't open shared capabilities memory GSCapabilities (No such file or directory) This really seems to be related to my issue.

  Hi all, I am trying to get a matlab-compiled exe running on Azure cloud, and for that purpose need to get a v78.zip onto the local storage of the cloud and unzip it, before I can try to run an exe on the cloud. The program works fine when executed locally, but on deployment gives and error at line marked below in the code.   I am evaluating cloud e-mail solutions based upon: Google Apps for Education Microsoft Live@edu I work for a University and we currently have an institutional portal (based on uPortal). We currently have our local IMAP server and webmail client fully integrated with the portal. We would like to replicate the current portal e-mail experience with the new e-mail services. At present users can see a snapshot of their inbox in the portal and click through into the appropriate place in the webmail client. We expect that we need to solve similar problems when integrating with the cloud based e-mail solutions. We need to solve the single sign-on (SSO) problem. We need to be able to access the inbox messages on the users behalf. (e.g. proxy authentication) Does anybody have an experience or advice on this? Many thanks, Mark

  Hi, First off I should say that I don't have any experience in working with a CMS. I have 2 general questions about CMS: How easy is it to create a template? I have strong CSS/XHTML skills, is creating a template as easy as writing the markup or does it have to be done in a very rigid way? How is jQuery support in CMS systems? I like what you can do with jQuery and would like to incorporate it into the next couple of sites that I will do. EDIT: So far answers are asking which CMS, I don't have any in mind.   Hi. I am not able to get Resharper profile a unit test, although I have dotTrace installed on my machine. Actually, the dotTrace button in VisualStudio is also greyed out. the VisualStudio AddIns menu list dotTrace as started. VS2008 sp1 Windows 7 64bit R# 4.5 dotTrace 3.1 I tried Restarts, Reinstall, Re-whatever. Has anyone experienced that also? Does anyone has a solution for that?

  Hi, I'm really struggling to make facebook connection working for my system. What I want to do : When the user is not yet registered on facebook : Fetch some user profile fields into my database (ideqally via my registration page already working for non facebook users) Log the user into my website Redirect the user into my homepage What I've done so far : Set up the application in FB Add the Facebook class from the github website and integrate some code to make it working Add additionnal paremeters to login/register facebook link. I'm struggling to redirect the user after authorizing, to my register page (register/?facebook). The "Post-Authorize Redirect URL" field doesn't seem to work properly, I maybe do not fill the right field? My other question is, if my registration page uses a redirection show (index.php redirect to register.php), do the information given by facebook through the $_POST method would be available in the register.php page ? • ESS/AucTeX/Sweave integration

  I'm using GNU/Linux distro (Arch, if that's relevant), Emacs v23.2.1, ESS v5.9 and AucTeX v11.86. I want to setup AucTeX to recognize .Rnw files, so I can run LaTeX on .Rnw files with C-c C-c and get .dvi file automatically. I reckon it's quite manageable by editing .emacs file, but I still haven't got a firm grasp on Elisp. Yet another problem is quite annoying - somehow, LaTeX is not recognizing \usepackage{Sweave} in preambule, so I actually need to copy Sweave.sty file (in my case located in /usr/share/R/texmf/Sweave.sty) to directory where .Rnw file is located (and I'm getting more frustrated with the fact that this is common bug on Windows platforms!) My question boils down to two problems: how to make LaTeX recognize \usepackage{Sweave} (without copying Sweave.sty to "home" folder each time) how to setup AucTeX to compile .Rnw files to .dvi

  I’m working to integrate Photoshop (CS4, local) with MySQL (Linux, remote), such that: a) image file information, data and meta data can be exported from PS into MySQL where same can be manipulated both manually and calculated, and then b) the MySQL fields can be referenced in Photoshop scripting for further automated image file manipulation, and c) the MySQL fields can be referenced for other purposes such as dynamic propagation of files and associated file data to a website, for example. I’ve spent many hours running searches for these concepts on StackOverflow, Google, and Adobe Support. I’m coming up empty, which leads me to believe that it’s not natively possible, and that I’ll need some middle language like PHP. Does anyone know if it’s possible for Photoshop and MySQL to bi-directionally share data? If so, how? If that’s not possible, what solution(s) might you recommend, in terms of specific tools/technologies that I can research further. Thank you.

  I'm working on Rails 3.0.0.beta2, following Advanced Rails Recipes "Recipe #32, Mark locations on a Google Map" and I hit a road block: I do not see a google map. My @adds view uses @adds.to_json to connect the google maps api with my model. My database contains "latitude" "longitude", as floating points. And the entire project can be accessed at github. Can you see where I'm not connecting the to_json output with the javascript correctly? Can you see other glairing errors in my javascript? Thanks in advance! • PayPal integration woes: PDT hangs on return to site

  Hi, I'm implementing PayPal IPN & PDT. After some headache & time at the sandbox, IPN is working well and PDT returns the correct $_GET data. The implementation is as follows: Pass user ID in form to PayPal User buys product and triggers IPN which updates database for given user ID PDT returns transaction ID when user returns to site The return page says "please wait" and repeat-Ajax-checks for the transaction status User is redirected to success/failure page Everything works well, EXCEPT that when using the PayPal ready PHP code for PDT to do a return POST, the page hangs. PayPal waits for a response and the user never gets back to my site. I'm not getting a fail status, just nothing. The funny thing is that once the unknown error occurs, my test domain becomes unresponsive for a short period. The code (PHP): https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=p/xcl/rec/pdt-code-outside If I comment out the POST back, it all works fine. I'm able to pin down the problem to once the code enters the while{} loop. Unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to write a replacement from scratch for the PayPal code, so would really appreciate any ideas on what might be wrong. The POST back goes to ssl://www.sandbox.paypal.com, and I'm using button code and an authorisation token that have all been created via a sandbox test account. Thanks in advance.

• Using StructureMap, how do you explicitly trigger the reinstantiation of a object with InstanceScope

  I have an integration test harness where I want to teardown and then re-instantiate some of the singleton-scoped objects I've registered with StructureMap, after and before each test. This way I can simulate the actual run time environment, but not have the singleton's state being passed from one test to another. Maybe this isn't a great way to do an integration test, but I'm running out of alternative solutions (read open to any advice). So can an object with InstanceScope.Singleton, be re-instantiated? What's the best way to do re-instantiate a singleton-scoped object with StructureMap?

• Splitting build cross the network?

  Is there a known solution for splitting build process cross the network machines? Use case: We are an average software development company. We own around 50 development workstations (Quad Core 2.66Ghz, 4 GB ram, 200 GB raid). No need to tell that at any single moment not every machine is loaded to the max. There are 5 to 15 projects running simultaneously at any single moment. Obviously all of them are continuously build on server, than deployed to proper environment. Single project build is taking from 3 to 15 minutes. The problem: Whenever we build 5 projects in a row the last project is going to be ready after around 25 - 50 minutes. Building in parallel does not solve the problem (build is only a part of the game, than you need to deploy, run tests etc.) YES the correct solution is to add another build server, but "That involves buying new Expensive hardware, and we already spent a lot!". Yea, right(damn them)! Anyway. What about splitting build among developers workstation? Lets say whenever we need to build project "A" we check 5 workstations and start build on all that are not overloaded. The build can be canceled by a developer if he really needs all the power of his machine as long as there is at least 1 machine that is still building. After build is finished deployment can be performed to a proper environment (hosted on some server, not on workstation :) ). The bigger the company the more this makes sense to me. Anyone tried something like this? Are there any good practices? Any helpful software?

  Hi Guyz, i want to integrate maps using map kit in iphone, and i am successful at that, but now the problem which i am facing is i have 2 locations coordinates, Location1 and Location2, now i want those two points to be shown on map but i want that they appear on the screen both at 1 time, means if they are very far then the zoom level goes to that point and show those two points on the map, if they are near to each other then zoom level shows from that angel (i mean very near). now i know that using longitude delta and latitude delta i can fix this problem, but i cant find a way to make it dynamic, so that i dont have to hardcode the delta value Any Help appreciated. • Microsoft Office 2003 document (Excel and Word) intermitently, takes 30 seconds to load

  I am trying to figure out why a simple .XLS EXCEL workbook is taking, randomly, 30 seconds to open. Before answering: Please, bear mind the following: Problem symptoms Hanging is intermitent and it takes exactly 30 seconds; During hanging there is no cpu or disk activity; It only happens during document load. Every runs smooth after that; Windows Explorer.exe hangs on folder, but all other folders, system and applications are still responsive; There are no consecutive hangings. I have to wait for while to reproduce this behaviour; All samples documents are located on a local drive (C:\BPI); The no document has has macros and have any addins usage; The problem does occurs on others files extensions like .PDF, for example; Office 2003 is being used for several years; The computer is running Windows XP; Computer has several network mapped drives, all addressed to main file server; Recently, main fileserver was replaced by Windows 2011 SBS Standard Edition What I have done so far I have traced machine Explorer.exe, using Process Monitor, added Duration column, and filtered by Duration 1. That's is how I found that hanging was taking exactly 30 seconds. For further information, please refer to Oliver Salzburg tutorial. Using Process Monitor, I have also figured out than five operations were taking most of sample collecting duration. Looking at sample image below, column Operation below you will notice that one single operation was taking 29 seconds; I have tried different documents (.xls and .doc), all of them smaller than 30 KB; I have, temporarily, removed all shortcuts on User Document's folder that were pointing to network drives or shares; I have runned CCleaner to fix registry issues; I made sure that there were no external links on tested workbook or word documents; I have reproduced this behaviour for hours; I have extensivelly researched for hours on the web; Process Monitor's collected and filtered data
