  Is it possible to register (include) javascript within RenderingTemplate? (RenderingTemplates are used to render list forms or fields) By using <SharePoint:RenderingTemplate ID="NewRelatedListItem" runat="server"> <Template> <span id="part1"> <SharePoint:ScriptLink Name="SPFormFieldAssistant.js" Localizable="false" /> ... </span> ... </Template> </SharePoint:RenderingTemplate> it couldn't be done - it didn't include script at HEAD area, but...: Is something wrong with my code? Althought script IS at Layouts folder and I checked with Reflector that it uses Layouts folder if Localizable='False'. I don't want this script to be loaded with every page, but only for forms. Any ideas on how this could be achieved?

  Hi everyone, In my terminal window (using Max OS X) my shell is bash. However when I run a command in PHP via shell_exec or backtick operators I see that PHP is using the Bourne Shell (sh). Here's an example of what I'm seeing: From within my terminal window: $ echo $0 - bash Also if I call php as follows: $ php -r "echo shell_exec('echo $0');" -bash However, if I create a script called test.php with the following: <?php echo shell_exec('echo $0'); ?> And then run test php I get the following: $ php test.php sh I'm wanting to use the bash shell when calling shell_exec - why is it choosing the Bourne shell and can I force it to use bash? If I comment out the map line everything works fine (except the map itself).

  This is probably really easy, but I'm lost on how to "make sure" it is in this range.. So basically we have class Color and many functions to implement from it. this function I need is: Effects: corrects a color value to be within 0-255 inclusive. If value is outside this range, adjusts to either 0 or 255, whichever is closer. • Counting consecutive items within MS SQL

  Got a problem with a query I'm trying to write. I have a table that lists people that have been sent an email. There is a bit column named Active which is set to true if they have responded. But I need to count the number of consecutive emails the person has been inactive since either their first email or last active email. For example, this basic table shows one person has been sent 9 emails. They have been active within two of the emails (3 & 5). So their inactive count would be 4 as we are counting from email number 6 onwards. PersonID(int) EmailID(int) Active(bit) 1 1 0 1 2 0 1 3 1 1 4 0 1 5 1 1 6 0 1 7 0 1 8 0 1 9 0 Any pointers or help would be great. Regards Greg

  I have 2 independent but contiguous date ranges. The first range is the start and end date for a project. Lets say start = 3/21/10 and end = 5/16/10. The second range is a month boundary (say 3/1/10 to 3/31/10, 4/1/10 to 4/30/10, etc.) I need to figure out how many days in each month fall into the first range. The answer to my example above is March = 10, April = 30, May = 16. I am trying to figure out an excel formula or VBA function that will give me this value. Any thoughts on an algorithm for this? I feel it should be rather easy but I can't seem to figure it out. I have a formula which will return TRUE/FALSE if ANY part of the month range is within the project start/end but not the number of days. That function is below. return month_start <= project_end And month_end >= project_start

• PHP/Javascript - get php variable within javascript

  I have run into an interesting problem. I am currently developing php page and need to access a php variable within the javascript onload. $(document).ready(function() { var temp = <?php $page_id ?> } is this valid? I know that this might seem weird and not be allowed but I am developing a page that has two popup windows. The windows are created using the same view template and there is no way to distinguish between each other. If I stored a hidden value on the page with information unique to the page like so <input type="hidden" value="<?php $page_id ?> id="page_id" /> if there are two views open at the same time there is no way for me to get a unique page id like so var temp = $("#page_id").val(); Because there are two views witht he same input id that is not unique. Long story short is it valid to reference a php variable in the javascript.

  I've created a class in Javscript using the prototype Class.Create complete with the initialize function and a few other functions. However, in one of my functions I want to reference another function in the same class, but cannot seem to get the syntax correct. e.g. var sampleClass = Class.create({ initialize: function(){ //do the init work here }, functionA: function(){ //do some more stuff here } functionB: function(){ //Do some stuff functionA() } } I've tried calling functionA() , this.functionA() but nothing works I just get errors. I know how to call the functions externally when the class has been instantiated, but not reference a function from within the class itself. Thanks

• Cleanest way to tell if 3 times are within half an hour of each other

  I have 3 date / time input boxes on a form and the user cannot select any times within half an hour of each other. I've converted all values to epoch format using a Javascript implementation of strtotime, but not sure how to recursively check that any of the times are actually half an hour apart. I can hand code all checks, but it would be cleaner to write a recursive function (especially if there were theoretically more than 3 time slots). Did some Google research but no luck. Any suggestions on implementing this in Javascript or Jquery. Thanks.

• Not able to override CSS within IFrame

  I am using disqus comments for my jekyll blog with some CSS styles overriden in my stylesheet and used to work perfectly. Recently, disqus has introduced a new UI for their comments system which has completely broken the font colors. Since my site has dark background, I am trying to apply styles based on new disqus HTML structure generated. However, it seems that none of my styles get applied. It seems that is because disqus is loaded within iframe. Any ideas how can I fix the font colors. • Emailing HTML from within an iPhone app is stopping at special characters

  Hi, I have an iPhone app that will let users email some pre-determined text as HTML. I'm having a problem in that if the text contains special characters within the text (e.g., ampersand &, , <), the NSString variable that I use for sending the body of the email gets truncated at the special character. I'm not sure how to fix this (I tried using the method stringByAddingPercentEscapesUsingEncoding…but this hasn't fixed the problems). Thoughts on what I'm doing wrong / how to fix it? • Obtain stored procedure metadata for a procedure within an Oracle package using ADO.NET

  Hi, I am trying to obtain the stored procedure metadata (procedure name,parameter types,parameter names etc) for a procedure declared within an Oracle package, using the standard ADO.NET API - DbConnection.GetSchema call. I am using the ODP driver. I see that the Package is listed in the 'Packages' and 'PackageBodies' metadata collections. The procedure parameter appears in the 'Arguments' and 'ProcedureParameters' collections. I do not see a way to get to the procedure information via the package metadata. Even if the procedure does not have any parameters there is a row in the 'ProcedureParameters' collection for this procedure. My question: To obtain the procedure metadata do I have to query the 'ProcedureParameters' collection and search for an entry with the required package name? I can then construct the procedure metadata based on the parameter information. Is there a shorter or quicker way to obtain the same information?

• Using file-path to images stored within the Application Settings

  I am trying to develop an application that uses a number of images that are stored in a seperate remote file location. The file-paths to the UI elements are stored within the Application Settings. Although I understand how to access and use the file-path from Settings in C# (Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages + "OK.png"), I am at a loss to figure out how to utilize the Settings paths in WPF, and can only seem to access the file if I include the file-path, such as: <Grid.Background> <ImageBrush ImageSource="C:\Skins\bottomfill.png" TileMode="Tile" /> </Grid.Background> I would have thought that concatenating "Properties.Settings.Default.pathToGridImages" with "bottomfill.png" in WPF could be done much like it can be done in C#. Can anyone please point me in the right direction?

  I'm trying to make an windows application within Netbeans. When using Visual studio it is no problem to use files like tchar.h I have receaved a basic file structure containing those and I'm trying to get them to work on Netbeans IDE but it seems that Netbeans won't allow using files from Visual Studio. I have tried to add the tchar.h file and all other file it required (including some C++ core files) and commenting the errors written in those care files: #error ERROR: Use of C runtime library internal header file. But netbenas can't find the tchar.h file while being in same folder...

• Finding Cities within 'X' Kilometers (or Miles)

  This may or may not be clear, leave me a comment if I am off base, or you need more information. Perhaps there is a solution out there already for what I want in PHP. I am looking for a function that will add or subtract a distance from a longitude OR latitude value. Reason: I have a database with all Latitudes and Longitudes in it and want to form a query to extract all cities within X kilometers (or miles). My query would look something like this... Select * From Cities Where (Longitude > X1 and Longitude < X2) And (Latitude > Y1 and Latitude < Y2) Where X1 = Longitude - (distance) Where X2 = Longitude + (distance) Where Y1 = Latitude - (distance) Where Y2 = Latitude + (distance) I am working in PHP, with a MySql Database. • Silent Printing of PDF From Within Java

  We are looking into silent printing of PDF documents from within Java. The printing will be invoked from the desktop and not through a browser so we cannot use JavaScript. PDF Renderer is an operational solution but their rendering quality is not acceptable. iText does not seem to be pluggable with the Java print service. There are some commercial Java libraries, jPDFPrint by Qoppa, JPedal, and ICEpdf which we have not tried out yet. Does anybody have any experience with PDF silent printing from Java?

  I'm helping an artist maintain her website and have inherited some pretty outdated code. Have moved lots of redundant common code to include files and am now working on moving from inline styles to more CSS-driven styles. For the gallery pages, e.g. http://artistsatlaketahoe.com/abstract.html, a lot of inline styling is used to force the current layout. My preference would be to replace this entirely with CSS that presents the following table-like layout within the "content" div: [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] [image] [image descriptives and purchase button] I'd like to middle-align the image descriptives & purchase button relative to the image if possible. And then apply some padding above and below each row to stop using tags for vertical spacing. Any ideas how to create a div that I can use to get this kind of layout? Thanks!

• Starting new transaction within existing one in Spring bean

  We have: @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRED) public class MyClass implementes MyInterface { ... MyInterface has a single method: go(). When go() executes we start a new transaction which commits/rollbacks when the method is complete - this is fine. Now let's say in go() we call a private method in MyClass that has @Transactional(propagation = Propagation.REQUIRES_NEW. It seems that Spring "ignores" the REQUIRES_NEW annotation and does not start a new transaction. I believe this is because Spring AOP operates on the interface level (MyInterface) and does not intercept any calls to MyClass methods. Is this correct? Is there any way to start a new transaction within the go() transaction? Is the only way to call another Spring managed bean that has transactions configured as REQUIRES_NEW?

The pointer needs to be passed to a function as a void (*)(). Example: //CallFunc takes a void (*)() argument class testClass { public: void aFunc2; void aFunc1; } void testClass:aFunc2(){ callFunc(this.*aFunc1); // How should this be done? } void testClass:aFunc1(){ int someVariable = 1; } I'm trying to do this in GCC 4.0.1. Also, the member function being called can't be static because it references non-static variables in the class that it is part of.

• Android EditText within a ListView

  I have created a custom Array Adapter to bind a custom row that contains some static text and an editable EditText. I am trying to register to be notified when the user changes the text within the edit text and when notified to determine which ArrayList row the modified EditText corresponds to. In the past with other types of views such as a Spinner I could simply put a reference to the parent view and the row number into the tag for the Spinner view. And then when I was notified that the value changed I read the tag to determine how to correlate it back to the master ArrayList. The problem with registering to be notifed with an EditText change is that you do not get back a view but instead get a TextWatcher and I have no way to correlate back to the parent view or ArrayList row. What is the technique that you need to use in this circumstance?

For example, given a time period of 5 days, what is the maximum number of times user 111 walked the dog? The most obvious solution would be to start at some zero point and move forward each day, summing up 5 day periods along the way, then taking the maximum total out of all the 5 day windows. the approach seems incredibly costly however. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.
