• Hibernate Search Paging + FullTextSearch + Criteria

  I am trying to do a search with some criteria FullTextQuery fullTextQuery = fullTextSession.createFullTextQuery(finalQuery, KnowledgeBaseSolution.class).setCriteriaQuery(criteria); and then page it //Gives me around 700 results result.setResultCount(fullTextQuery.getResultSize()); //Some pages are empty fullTextQuery.setFirstResult(( (pageNumber - 1) * pageSize )); fullTextQuery.setMaxResults( pageSize ); result.setResults(fullTextQuery.list()); I suspect Lucene return full result of the full text search without taking the criteria into account and then hibernate search applies the criteria after, therefore some page are empty (after filtering by criteria) What is proper way to do fullTextSearch with some criteria, is it possible to apply the criteria before the lucene search? Or do I have to use pure Lucene (if so what's the point of Hibernate Search?) Thanks in advance

• DRUPAL: Spamspan module... how does it work ?

  hi, I've installed http://drupal.org/project/spamspan module for Drupal (drupal.org/project/spamspan), in order to obfuscate the e-mail addresses on my website. However I'm not sure it is working. I can see the email url from source html and I think the module is not filtering anything. I've added some e-mails in the text editor CKEditor. Is it automatically detecting these emails written in text editor ? I haven't find any settings menu, after I installed the module. I guess there is not. thanks

• Tinymce extended_valid_elements for BBcodes?

  I use Tinymce with BBcodes plugin so the tags used in the editor are [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color]. If you are familiar with TinyMce there is a great option to filter all unwanted tags when pasting to the editor. Unfortunately i think this is not working for BBcodes mode, what i want is to remove any <TAGS> Or Other Unwanted BBcodes such as [url] & [img] So, my white list is : [B] [U] [I] [quote] [color=XXXXXX]. I'm already filtering in the server side, but i want this to be implemented in the client side too, So by example if someone copied from a webpage a mix of images and urls and formatted text, every image will be stripped and every url will be "unclickable" directly after pasting. Note: this is one of my failed attempts : extended_valid_elements : 'b,i,u,quote,color' Thanks

• Validation of user input or ?????????

  We're letting users search a database from a single text input and I'm having difficulties in filtering some user supplied strings. For example, if the user submits: ????????? lcd SONY (Note the ?'s) I need to cancel the search. I include the base64 encoded version of the above string wrapped up so that its easy run: print(base64_decode("1MfLxc/RwdPHIGxjZCBTT05Z")); I've ignored such inputs before but now (am not sure why) just realised the mysql database query is taking nearly forever to execute so this is now on high priority. Another example to highlight that we are using utf-8 and mb_detect_encoding is not helping much: print(base64_decode("zqDOm8+Fzr3PhM63z4HOuc6/IM+Bzr/Phc+HzyU=")); ????t???? ?????% So: how can I detect/filter these inputs? how is this input being generated?

• Is it possible for competing file access to cause deadlock in Java?

  I'm chasing a production bug that's intermittent enough to be a real bastich to diagnose properly but frequent enough to be a legitimate nuisance for our customers. While I'm waiting for it to happen again on a machine set to spam the logfile with trace output, I'm trying to come up with a theory on what it could be. Is there any way for competing file read/writes to create what amounts to a deadlock condition? For instance, let's say I have Thread A that occasionally writes to config.xml, and Thread B that occasionally reads from it. Is there a set of circumstances that would cause Thread B to prevent Thread A from proceeding? My thanks in advance to anybody who helps with this theoretical fishing expedition. Edit: To answer Pyrolistical's questions: the code isn't using Filelock, and is running on a WinXP machine.

  Hi all I'm using an ADO.NET Entity Model which I'm trying to query using LINQ. The problem I'm having is that I can't specify the where clause as I'd like. For instance, consider the following query: AccountsDM db = new AccountsDM(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings["PrimaryEF"].ConnectionString); var accounts = from a in db.Accounts select a; foreach (var account in accounts) { foreach (var ident in account.Identifiers) { if (ident.Identifier == identifier) { // ident.Identifier is what I'd like to be filtering in the WHERE clause below } } } Ideally, I'd like that to become: var accounts = from a in db.Accounts where a.Identifiers.Identifier == identifier select a; I'm guessing I've probably not set up my Entity Model correctly in VS2010. • Drupal: Views: exposed Taxonomy filter: additional functionalities

  hi! I'm using Drupal Views with an exposed filter (improved with better exposed filters module) based on taxonomy. I have a list of nodes and for each node I assigned several tags. I would like to add the following functionalities to the filter: 1 - when few tags are selected, I would like to disable all tags that are not possible to combine with the selected ones. In other terms, disable a tag if it is not visible in the filtered nodes. In this way I highlight only a subset of tags, to help the user to continue filtering the content. 2 - when I move the mouse over an article I would like to highlight the tags that are associated with such node with a different color. That is, if I selected TAGA, and the node also contains TAGB, and TAGC, I would like to highlight the last 2 tags if I move the mouse over the node. thanks

• What's the best way to view/analyse/filter huge traces/logfiles?

  this seems to be a reoccurring issue: we receive a bug report for our software and with it tons of traces or logfiles. since finding errors is much easier when having a visualization of the log messages/events over time it is convenient to use a tool that can display the progression of events in a graph etc. (e.g. wireshark (http://www.wireshark.org) for analyzing network traffic) what tool do you use for such a purpose? the problem with most tools i used so far is that they mercilessly break down when you feed them huge data traces ( 1GB) so some criteria for such a tool would be: can deal with huge input files ( 1 GB) is really fast (so you don't have to get coffee while a file is loading) has some sort of filtering mechanism

• List Management Via MailChimp API

  I'm investigating using the MailChimp API to manage email notifications for a social networking site (similar to how Twitter sends email notifications to followers when a followee posts a new Tweet). My original plan was to have a "follower" list for each user in the app and then send an email to that list each time that user posts new content. However, it appears that the MailChimp API intentionally doesn't support creating campaign lists via the API (for CAN-SPAM reasons). I've read something about list segmentation in MailChimp, but I don't think that helps me with this situation. I'm curious if anyone else has run into a similar requirement to mine and how they dealt with it. Any insights would be most appreciated! Thanks.

• Modifying generator.yml views in Symfony

  Hey! I'm currently working on a web app written in Symfony. I'm supposed to add an "export to CSV" feature in the backend/administration part of the app for some modules. In the list view, there should be an "Export" button which should provide the user with a csv file of the elements that are displayed (considering filtering criteria). I've created a method in the actions class of the module that takes a comma separated list of ids and generates the CSV, but I'm not really sure how to add the link to it in the view. The problem is that the view doesn't exist anywhere, it's generated on the fly from the data in the generator.yml configuration file. • Tarballing without git metadata

  My source tree contains several directories which are using git source control and I need to tarball the whole tree excluding any references to the git metadata or custom log files. I thought I'd have a go using a combo of find/egrep/xargs/tar but somehow the tar file contains the .git directories and the *.log files. This is what I have: find -type f . | egrep -v '\.git|\.log' | xargs tar rvf ~/app.tar Can someone explain my misunderstanding here? Why is tar processing the files that find and egrep are filtering? I'm open to other techniques as well.

  hello, I would like to leave the textbox via code. when user clicks in the textbox, and types in something , and then the user will click outside the textbox. on the screen there are just labels. only this one textbox is on the form. my problem is, that the textbox does not lost focus when I click everywhere on the screen. the texbox it still has the focus. this textbox is used to filter a list, built from labels. the complete story is: - I have no mainmenu on the screen, so the Sip icon is not visible - user clicks in the textbox, and i bring up the SIP, in the textbox.GotFocus event - user types in some letters, the list is filtered - if user clicks away, the SIP disappears (textbox.lostfocus), but the textbox still has the focus, I mean the cursor remains in the textbox - when user wants to type some other letters for filtering, it clicks in the textbox, but GotFocus does not fire how can I make the texbox to loose the focus?

Also, does this work if we use gmail for our SMTP, albeit branded to our company domain? • SelectedValue of DropDownList is not the one I selected when Enabled=false

  Hiya, I have a few DropDownLists on a webform each pointing to a SqlDataSource. Some of these datasources use one of these DropDownLists for a select parameter, filtering the list to specific categories. For certain users two of these DropDownLists are to be automatically set and disabled. When I submit the form with the drop downs enabled it works fine but when they are disabled the SelectedValue of the DropDownList is being reset to the first one in the list. My DropDownLists are constructed as follows: <asp:DropDownList ID="ddlManager" runat="server" DataSourceID="dsManagers" EnableViewState="false" DataValueField="ManagerID" DataTextField="MgrName" AppendDataBoundItems="false" ondatabound="ddlManager_DataBound" > The drop down lists add an extra item on the data bound event as follows: protected void ddlManager_DataBound(object sender, EventArgs e) { this.ddlManager.Items.Insert(0, new ListItem("--Manager--", "--Manager--")); } Can anyone shed any light as to why this is happening?   Hi, I don't know how to perform this query using Linq and the EF. Imagine I have three tables A, B and C. A and B have a many-to-many relationship. B and C have a 1-to-many relationship. I want to obtain records from B including C but filtering from A's Id.   Hello, I have the following code in my C# program: OpenFileDialog fDialog = new OpenFileDialog(); fDialog.Title = "Open a file"; fDialog.Filter = "NCF files (*.ncf)|*.ncf|All files (*.*)|*.*|No Extensions (*.)|*."; I want to be able to have the user pick from the following: .NCF (files with .NCF extension only) *.* (all files) and files that have no extensions such as: readme (with no .txt) I know *.* will do this, but it also displays the .NCF, .TXT, and all other files in the same directory. I just want to be able to display filenames that have no extensions. Filtering with *. does not do the trick. Is there a way I can do this with C#? Thanks.

• Creating a QLineEdit search field for items displayed in a QListView

  I want to create a search field that filters the items shown in a QListView. Basically the user could type in "foo" and only items with "foo" in the DisplayRole are shown. I already have a few ideas on how to do this, but thought I'd ask those more experienced than I. My idea would be to use some signals and slots to set a filter in the QAbstractItem model and trigger an update() in the QListView. Are there any helper methods in QListView for filtering I may have missed? Is there a canonical way of handling this I haven't run across?

  In my application , a HTTP GET request URL to the application with script tag is getting redisplayed as it is although it fails the authorization. Example: http://www.example.com/welcome<script>alert("hi")</script> The issue is sanitizing external input entered directly into address bar by modifying existing GET URL. Spring redisplays the submitted URL as it is.   I need to do some regex replacement on HTML input, but I need to exclude some parts from filtering by other regexp. (e.g. remove all <a> tags with specific href="example.com…, except the ones that are inside the <form> tag) Is there any smart regex technique for this? Or do I have to find all forms using $regex1, then split the input to the smaller chunks, excluding the matched text blocks, and then run the $regex2 on all the chunks?

• Passing hash as values in hidden_field_tag

  I am trying to pass some filters in my params through a form like so: hidden_field_tag "filters", params[:filters] For some reason the params get changed in the next page. For example, if params[:filters] used to be... "filters"={"name_like_any"=["apple"]} [1] ...it gets changed to... "filters"="{\"name_like_any\"=[\"apple\"]}" [2] note the extra quotations and backslashes in [2] when compared to [1]. Any ideas? I'm attempting to use this with searchlogic for some filtering, but I need it to persist when I change change objects in forms. I would prefer not to have to store it in session.

• Building a rails form to filter an index page?

  G'day guys, I'm having an issue with filtering the presentation of several thousand trade items I have in my system. As per the specs of the system we're building we have to have a form that allows people to put in a start date and then an interval in minutes, to filter the presentation of the items. I've built my helper functions to return all of the trades within that interval period, but I can't for the life of me properly build the form that will return a dateTime value and an integer value within the top of the index page? Any ideas? Would I have to build a separate model object to assign values to, or is there a simpler way?

  We've developed a web application where people can sign-up on our website to make use of our service. We have a functionality that allows users to send invites to their friends by looking up their contacts on Gmail, Yahoo Mail etc. My question is - do we have to use a 3rd party email management software like a MailChimp or SendGrid to send such emails or should we send them directly? If we send the emails directly and if the recipients start marking those emails as spam, isn't there a very high chance that we might get banned by Gmail, Yahoo etc.?

I'm need to write an stored procedure for SQL Server 2008 for performing some huge select query and I need filter it results with specifying filtering type via procedure's parameters (parameterize where clause).   Hi, our webapp collects huge amount of data about user actions, network business, database load, etc etc etc All data is stored in warehouses and we have quite a lot of interesting views on this data. if something odd happens chances are, it shows up somewhere in the data. However, to manually detect if something out of the ordinary is going on, one has to continually look through this data, and look for oddities. My question: what is the best way to detect changes in dynamic data which can be seen as 'out of the ordinary'. Are bayesan filters (I've seen these mentioned when reading about spam detection) the way to go? Any pointers would be great! EDIT: To clarify the data for example shows a daily curve of database load. This curve typically looks similar to the curve from yesterday In time this curve might change slowly. It would be nice that if the curve from day to day changes say within some perimeters, a warning could go off. R
